OK, i know this is from kinda a long time ago, but i have an answer about that... Before Reichen went on TAR, he was a teacher at a private school in LA, and to go on the show, he had to leave midway through the semester, and couldn't say why, basically ruining his relationship with the school. i have a bunch of friends who went/go to the school (they all looooved Chip, and were really bummed to hear they had split up!), and one even had him as a teacher, and loved him and was really sad when he left! so the school got really mad at him, and he'll never be allowed to go back there. had he been allowed to tell them the reason he had to leave, they could've been a little more responsive to his needing to leave mis-semester. he got back and had no job, and he couldn't spend his winnings yet cause no one could know he had it. thus, tension!

also, i'm not sure whether this has been brought up, but my best friend (who goes to the school) told me that Reichen was already a millionaire before he even went on the show... he owns a bunch of businesses, including an airline!!! just an interesting i tidbit i found out a few months ago...

The page lists the mag's articles; some of them look pretty good. An interview with Phil, and an essay on if gays are real or not real enough.
At the bottom of the page, it says the mag is on sale at Wal-Mart, Barnes & Noble and Blockbuster.

Most of the article I thought was re-tred of interviews we've seen in the past. Did y’all know Reichen was a waiter on Young & the Restless ? And that was a dream come true? I thought Reichen’s answers were pretty straight forward and not so revealing (although he does admit he wanted them to be a “special gay couple”). Chip was another story.

In the media thread, Chris called Chip bitter. I thought he was more defensive then anything else. The interviewer asked them about how he feels about being a "role model" and Chip gave this really convoluted answer. I interpreted as we never said we were role models, but if people want to think we are that’s fine. In the article on gays in reality tv, the head of GLAAD says that they received a number of extremely negative phone calls and e-mails after they won, and I got a feeling that that, combined with all the questions about them breaking up after the race has really tested Chip’s resolve (Reichen answered [or more non-answered] the what happen question, Chip refused to answer).

They both mentioned they are doing charity and gay-related issues. I assume that’s why they did the interview. It followed what I thought was a great article on gays on reality TV. I think they want to be what people think of when people think of gay men on reality TV.

Reichen's mom has just passed on word that an episode of the Drew Carey show in which Reichen makes a guest appearance will air July 7th. Looks like all the networks are trying to get in on the TAR-love that week!

Wow, strange synergy or weird coincidence? Even sitcom episodes need to be aired in the right order sometimes, so I wonder if the suits arranged this on purpose.

Just found out that ol' Reichen will be in Atlanta this weekend for Pride. He'll be speaking at some Air Force function and he'll be signing autographs in Piedmont Park on Sunday from 3-5.

Hi everyone. I've just learned that Reichen and Chip broke up.Cos here in China TAR four has just been through on TV. I was so thrilled when I saw Reichen and Chip hit the finale.It was like I won the race myself,As I was going through the webs yesterday I got to read their open letter to their supporters. It was like a dagger poking right through my skull. I've been checking up the web whole day ,and I read a lot of the reports ,comments ,intervews... I have to admitt that it tremendously upsets me. But I will still be rooting for them ,I don't think it really makes any sense to argue if they are role model or not, I think What Chip said in a interview was right,they did have thoese wonderful years they helped each other out , and they did win TAR , and the moment I saw they win , I was greatly inspired-- as any gay would be at the same moment and for me that was a role-model thing.
I caught up some comments from their enimies ,as "well Chip now could use the money to have some anger management or a lipo sucktion" ,"Reichen could now learn to deal with his stupidity and imaturity" , The only reason I can think of for these guys to say things like that is that they somehow lead a miserable life and get twisted on other people's success and pain.
No matter who did what to who between Reichen and Chip resulting in the split ,at least one thing they were right---- that 's their own bussiness, and that doesn't impede them to be the good people.
You need to know how hard it can be for gay people in China.even when I watched the TAR ,the subtitles were pretty fucked up, whereever it involved some gay issue ,the subtitles were totally different translation. for example ,when Chip landed from the parachuting (last episode), he said "where's my boy?" but the subtitle was "my friend is coming " fuck that!!

A couple of things for you. Reichen and Chip approved the establishment of a Group at MSN.com (All About R&C). THey've used it to have messages from both Reichen and Chip posted to the members -- it was the site they used to announce that their marriage had ended and that announcement is posted on the site. In addition, they both use the site to report on their activities and plans, and a ton of photographs from their activities since TAR 4 finished airing in the US last August. Reichen's mom is a member and posts there frequently (and relays most of the stuff that comes from Reichen and from Chip), and I think from what you've posted, you might find some of the recent message threads at that group as a helpful resource where you are at.

THe TV Guide online site has a update on several of the realtiy folks including Reichen and Chip. For now, I'll just send y'all to the www.tvguide.com site, but if the stuff gets taken offline with the next issue, I'll copy and paste in the part about Reichen and Chip. It's not long but it is interesting.

Lingo , I have to say you are right. US is definitly the gay paradise compared with China, even though gay rights are still not fully guarenteed there either.But the city where I live is called to be the "gay capital" in China . Hey, I didnt know that until my friend from NY told me so..lol....scary! hu? even he knows that, while I never heard of it before. He also said gays in my city are pretty bold. iMissEthan. I am a Chinese who get addicted to western guys. It's not only for the physical attraction but also the way that western people think and do things. So am I the only one who caught Reichen on Drew Carey tonight? Not that I watched it for Reichen. I always watch Drew Carey, and I didn't remember he'd be on until I saw him.

Anyways, it was a rather more substantial role for him than what he's done before AFAIK. He was the centerpiece of a whole subplot! He played an "impossibly handsome" package deliveryman, clad in a tight blue t-shirt and very short shorts, whom Mimi was gawking over. He had four scenes. In the first, he comes into the office and takes a package from Mimi. She gives him the package, drools over him, declares that he'll need to come pick up a package every day, and fibs that "the floor is wet" so that he'll walk out very slowly. In the second scene, he comes in for another package, and this time Mimi makes Kelly gawk at him too. Reichen innocently bends over and picks up a quarter off the floor (which Mimi left there) so that the girls can gawk at his butt. He says he keeps finding quarters there, heh. He leaves and Mimi declares him "God's gift to women," or some such BS. Mimi wants Kelly to mail a package to Mimi's house, but Kelly refuses (because she's dating Drew). Mimi doesn't listen to her, though, so in the third scene, Reichen shows up at Drew and Kelly's house with a package from Mimi to Kelly. He insists that he's also there to pick up a package for Mimi, so Kelly looks around, gives him a pencil, and shoos him out. Finally, in the fourth scene, back in the office, Mimi's female boss asks her why she's mailing empty packages to her own house at the company's expense. She starts to chew her out until Reichen enters for another package. They both drool over him. Reichen bends over again to pick up another coin on the floor. "Hey, look, it's a Sacajawea dollar!" Mimi growls and takes it from him. "It was supposed to be a quarter!" Ba-dump-dump.

Anyway, good for Reichen, but I wonder if he worries about typecasting. All the role required of him was to be a dim but slightly impatient pretty-boy!

I agree with your assessment; however, Reichen actually taped the episode back in the winter about the same time he started making appearances on The Young and the Restless.

And the episode being aired made a wonderful birthday present for Reichen's mom!

I watched it too - I thought he was very cute and looked really good in that outfit. His line every time he saw a quarter did make me laugh.

what's Chip been up to?

I saw Reichen in person, in a swimsuit, a few weeks ago. My boyfriend and I were in the tidal pool at Typhoon Lagoon during Gay Days at Disney World, when he turned to me and said "Isn't that Reichen?" I looked and said "Well, it sure looks like him..." -- and then later we heard him introduce himself to someone else as "Hi, I'm Reichen." Did I go over and introduce myself and tell him I was glad he won? Of course not; that's what a sensible person would do. I merely kept stealing looks and thinking "Go introduce yourself, you big coward," until he left the pool and I lost track of him.

Goodness, the man is hot.

I wonder if anyone here is interested in what CHIP is up to? I noticed that everyone here talks only about Reichen, about how good looking he is ,how he is digging out in his dramma. you know sometimes People are anything more than just some pieces of ass that appear on show. samuel, this MSN group is the best place to keep up with Reichen AND Chip....as they both communicate at that site through the group's owner and moderators and through Reichen's mom.

I'd certainly like to hear about Chip, but the fact is, we only hear about Reichen because he's the one who seeks the spotlight.

In the New York Post's TV section, Reichen is quoted saying that he bought a house in Marina Del Rey, renovated it, and sold it to a couple from Road Rules. If anybody's in the know, I gotta ask: which couple? Seriously, if I don't get an answer, I'm gonna obssess over it.

ETA: Yeah, James and Theo were the magic...four years ago. I know Dave and Cara are still an item, but I heard they were moving to Chicago. Man, I hope Reichen doesn't deal with the Wicks. What would The Big Guy say?

The only RR couple I can think of that I know would be living together would be the married duo of Chadwick and Holly. The only other RR couple that I can think of off the top of my head that might still be together is Dave and Cara. (James and Emily split, right?) Then again, if it were a RRer and a non-BMP person, or a RRer and a RWer, that could open things up even more.

I think it is Holly and Chadwick as well, since they lived in Southern California since their RR days. Reichen indirectly confirmed via his mom at his MSN group at the time that he had sold that house after he finished the renovations to a couple that had been on Road Rules, but refused to identify them for privacy reasons.

Whatever else anyone might say about them -- and I'm not looking to re-open any debates here -- Reichen and Chip are both very easy-going and approachable. With some very intense negative reaction generated by their "married" status on the show, they seem genuinely pleased to hear any positive feedback, so buck up and say hi next time!

Actually, he looks pretty freaky in some of the photos. It's disturbing.

That dumb oafish look in the second photo, the one with the underwear, is hilarious.
At least he's still good for milking his 15 minutes of fame. But I just saw in the newspaper that Kevin and Drew from the first season who didn't even win, got their own TV show on Discovery channel, but I don't want to be flooded with Reichen's presence any more than is necessary.
