I used to watch it. The one I can remember is with the old Black and White cartoon that used to be really popular. I remember the end is that The Mysterious Hooded Guy ends up being Silent Movie Guy, and reunites with Silent Movie Girl. Very sweet. :-) Does any one remember the names of those guys?

savetheyak, I think you're thinking of Foxy, Roxy, Goopy Geer, and, uhhh...the bee...dude. Apparently they were pretty much the
original stars of Merrie Melodies. I remember loving that episode, too, although all I really remember is Buster's random "Buster Bunny to block" Toonywood Squares comment. Oh, and the bee getting his buzz back. And Goopy playing the pian-uh. And...hey, that was a really good episode, wasn't it?
eta: oops, it was Bosco.

I remember renting the "Tiny Toons Vacation" every other week, I was loved, loved, loved, loved it a lot.
Does anyone remember that cartoon when Bugs was in an airplane, and this annoying creature was annoying him? I kept on quoting, "Well it ain't Montell Williams!" For hours.

Yeah, the hooded guy was Bosco, who was lurking around waiting for Honey to come back. Honey, however, grew old because her cartoons were forgotten. But when Babs showed them at a theater she built, everyone cracked up and Honey was restored to her former youth, reunited with Bosco, and they pranced away together.

It's fantastic for annoying someone who is addicted to playing video games, just point out everything they do wrong as a "...go down the hole" in that voice.
Fucking WORD!!! I still do it to my brother, and it still pisses him of. Especially when he plays Metroid and misjudges a jump.
Does anyone remember in the summer vacation special when Plucky gets sat on, and he has this slimy crap on his hand, smells it, and passes the fuck out? PRICELESS!!

A couple weeks ago one morning they aired what is probably my favorite episode ever--the one with the Animation Fair where you get to see the cartoons created by the various students. The segment with Gogo's "So You Want to Learn to Dance?" still kills me every time. It doesn't hurt that it's a Plucky episode and Plucky was The Awesome. He's such a lovable asshole.
Speaking of Gogo, there's something I can't figure out. As far as I can tell all the Tiny Toons characters are either child versions of Looney Tunes characters or caricatures of celebrities (Shirley the Loon/Shirley MacLaine). What the hell is Gogo based on? I was never a very faithful Looney Tunes fan so if there was a dodo on the show I very well may have missed it, he's the only character I can't immediately match up to a counterpart.
Of course I'm not too quick with these things--I think it took me literally years to figure out that Elmyra was the Elmer Fudd of the group.

RE: The Summer Vacation movie. Loved the movie, HAAATED Hamton's family. Especially the dad. But the whole Plucky story arc bugged me anyway, cuz when I was a kid I would always have nightmares about going on a trip to an amusement park and NEVER GETTING THERE!
I'm surprised no one else has brought this up, so I will. The episode where Hamton's on a diet. The chocolate cake in his fridge comes to life, and speaks to him. The cake says exactly what you'd expect it to say:
"EAT ME!"

Aug 7, 2004 @ 1:11 am
Yeah, it was a very early Porky Pig.
Anyways, an epsiode that really distrubed me was when Cupid hired the Buzzard to take his place. The dumb bird just started shooting people at random, which led to Montana Max and Babs Bunny falling in love, and almost getting married. That had to break at least twelve different kind of laws.
In the Animation Filmfest ep (my favourite being "Dizzy Eat World"), you see Daffy reading a copy of "Playduck". Bugs quickly confiscates it, but isn't adverse to looking through it himself. For the articles of course.
My favourite of the "epic" episodes was school's football competition with Perfecto.
Sideshow Cecil
Aug 7, 2004 @ 3:00 am
Didn't that football ep also have Plucky being seduced in a hot tub? They got away with so much--it's amazing. I still remember the music video episodes and how there was one where they did The Name Game with various characters, and then during the end credits there's a credit that says "Name not used in The Name Game: Plucky." At the time I was, I forget how old, and I was like "What? Bo bucky, banana-fana fo fu--OHHHH!"
So much of this show was for the benefit of the parents. I mean, the Deliverance homage with the possums. "That's bigamy!" "No, that's big of ME!" What kid is going to get those jokes?
Edited because HTML has taken over my mind.

My favorite Tiny Toons scene was during the music videos episode. There was an "intermission" with the Julie Bruin (Julie Brown, but not Downtown) talk show. She was expecting Buster, Babs and Madonna. B&B showed up, and Julie asked where Madonna was. Babs informed her that they didn't say Madonna, but rather "Fuddonna," and Elmer Fudd appears in the doorway, complete with blonde ponytail and the infamous cone bra. That's when I knew it wasn't a kiddie show.

Easily my favorite ever sketch on this terrific show was the one where they were at a boring Hollywood party, and an ultra-boring Dick Cavett-type guy told an interminable story that lasted an entire day--he kept them up all night as they were in their beds going on and on in his monotone voice, as they were brushing their teeth the next morning--then eventually he wrapped it up and you belatedly understood that it had a point and made sense, and he quickly said goodbye and scooted off. And the soundtrack was really quiet, after being filled with his voice the entire time, driving them crazy. And all of the sudden they realized that they missed him, and ran after him, Wacko imploring him to "tell us another story..."
Anyway, sorry if I didn't explain it well. It still makes me smile to think of it, though. So clever and unexpected.
edited to add: oops that was Animaniacs. Sorry. um, Tiny Toons was good too though...(scurries off, embarrassed)

I think you're referring to Animaniacs, also a good show, but not featuring child versions of the Loony Toons.
I caught the first ep. the other day, it wasn't as good as the show could be, but it was all right. I was impressed that all of the Voice Actors seemed to have the voices down already, it seems that many times it takes them a few episodes before they have the voice right.

Back from Page 18!
Reading the Animaniacs thread brought to mind Tiny Toons, and my all-time favorite segment from either show: The Roches. I'd loved Maggie, Terre and Suzzy Roche for years, and I'd reluctantly adjusted to their status as cult obscurities--then Sherri Stoner, bless her insane soul, gave my favorite singing sisters 8 minutes of network TV. Fan for life.
The two They Might Be Giants videos--for "Particle Man" and "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" were nearly as inspired.

Babs was fabulous... Tress MacNeille voiced her, and she would often break out these great impersonations of Schmoozy Hollywood ladies like Joan Rivers, or the woman who hosts Lives of the Rich and Famous or something.
And the movie is AWESOME. Hampton's dad keeps humming "Pop Goes the Weasel", and then singing the actual lyrics on the last line then chuckling to himself. Finally Plucky in exasperation begs him to sing something else. Hampton's dad: *Hums first line of Old McDonald*... POP! Goes the Weasel! *Chuckles to himself*.
And when they pick up the hitch hiker who turns out to be a chainsaw wielding maniac? Comedic gold.
And it's so great when they're all about to drive through the tunnel and Hampton's dad explains to Plucky you hold your breath while going through a tunnel and make a wish. Everyone does so. All the way through the tunnel Plucky is hissing through clenched teeth "I wish I was in Happy World Land!".
Years later all I have to do is think about this movie and start cracking myself up.

The animation was a bit better in the film too, wasn't it? I can clearly remember the bit where Buster (strumming on his tongue) and the friendly possum (on his guitar-type instrument) are making music and the camera's swirling around and giving us fancy shots we never saw in the series.
Was the movie released on video first, or did it air as a multi-parter before that? 'Cause I remember seeing it a little while after I assumed the series had ended (and my interest had probably begun to wane toward the end, though the series only last for about three years), and thought that it was the best possible send-off for the show that you could've hoped for.
Looking at TVTome's episode listings for it, it seems there was two or three more special episodes that came after the Summer Vacation movie. Spring Break Special, Night Ghoulery (1 hour), and a Plucky Duck pilot. Never saw the first two, but I can vaguely recall a Plucky-centric episode with Batduck stuff.

My goodness, this was one of my favorite cartoons ever as a kid. I agree with you guys - it was very subversive, and I would love to see it again now that I'm an adult (and would probably get a lot of the references.)
One of my favorite episodes was "The Horror of Slumber Party Mountain," where Babs, Fiffi, and Shirley go camping in the mountain and have to ward off this creature that's after them.
I also liked the episode where Babs runs away to Wacky Land because she doesn't wish to learn "self control."
