AussieGirl
Hi everyone

First of all, hi Ricci and congratulations! It's lovely to see you here again. And welcome, Felipe! Whereabouts on the West Coast are you? (I'm assuming you mean the west coast of the US and not the west coast of Australia, heh)! It's wonderful to see so many new people posting here.

Teena we have to wait till Tuesday here for Survivor Palau, which is actually good news. Until a couple of days ago we didn't even know if we were going to get it at all. Can't wait, everyone I've talked to in the US are saying how fantastic it was.

I've been battling a cold myself here, but starting to come good again.

Everyone have a good weekend!
hejjie1
Hi everyone, just wanted to pop in and say hi! and give a big cheer that those of us down under will only have to wait until Tuesday to see the first episode of Palau! Whoo-hoo!! (Although, I really couldn't help myself and had to have a peek at the episode summary on CBS before I left work on Friday. I know. I'm a big ole spoiler ho').

Hope everyone's having a great weekend. Mine's been fairly relaxed. Today I'm trying out my new washing machine/dryer. After five years of schlepping to the laundry I took the plunge and bought my own. Yeah, my life is full of exciting moments!

Footy (Aussie Rules) is back this weekend - the pre-season competition has just started and my team played its first match last night. It was great to be back at a proper game again! We lost by 9 points but it was a much better loss than any we had last year - my team finished second last in the league and did not look that good at all. This year, with a new coach and what appears to be an injection of new attitude, we look a lot better already. Of course, it is only the pre-season so we shouldn't get too carried away yet. Although I am finding it hard to contain my excitement for the start of the new season - Easter Sunday finds us in Sydney for the opening round!

Well, on to the next instalment of my exciting life - ironing and baking! Whee!
skagirl77
Hi All...sorry I've been MIA for a month! New job is fantastic and so frickin' busy. That also means I no longer spend 54 hours a day on line, which is both sad but at least work is fun. Anywho, I'm going to try to be a little more regular, especially since Survivor seems so much hotter, I mean, with a better ass, I mean, interesting. XO!!
Woodlock
SkaChicka! It's so good to see you, and you are right Survivor is full of the hottness, too bad my Jonny Boy is gone.

Oh I got a job! I'm gonna be working at Braum's which is like a hamburger/ice cream fast food joint so whoo hoo! For now any ways :)
AussieGirl
Hey Hej did you see the first Twenty 20 Cricket game played in N.Z.? It was great! Glenn McGrath made like he was going to bowl the last ball underarm and the whole Kiwi crowd erupted in laughter! I remember that whole underarm ball incident, for a long time there the Kiwis were going around wearing T-shirts that said "Australia has an underarm problem", heh. And yay for washing machines and dryers! More time for ironing and baking - well baking, anyway.

Hey Ska 'bout time you got yourself back here, girl! We've missed you and your funnies! Glad the job is going so well, but sheesh, can't they let you have more time on the Net? Just explain to them that the MM is not the same without you...

Woodymate that's wonderful news! Congratulations!
mikkamtl
Hi all!

Gah! Finally on break week, recovered from partying, caught up on tv watching, and ready to hit the slopes... so of course there's a stupid storm in Montreal, and my ride doesn't want to be driving north, and I don't reel like dealing with crazy winds at the top of a ski hill. So a washing, ironing and baking day for me too, as I drown my sorrow (I was really into this for some reason) in some chocolate.

Hi ska, I myself spend so much time online at the library (yay wireless laptops!)when I should be studying, but this is much more fun. At least today I can do this from the comfort of my couch.

AussieGirl I've been discovering cricket and all kinds of football (US, Canadian, Australian) over here... my brain is slowly overloading with all these subtle rule differences.
AussieGirl
Well Mikka I don't know too much about footy (you'll have to ask Hej for any info on that), but I can pretty much tell you anything you might like to know about cricket.

Yay! Survivor tonight! Yay!
ChipBach
Hi gang! Chip here from Cincinnati. Work as a suit for a horse (hoss) racin' track in Northern Kentucky. Father of twins (Nick & Emma) who are four going on twenty... Married to "The_Smart_One" (Kendra) who has the "real job" one of those VP-types...

Loved Miss Alli's brillant recaps last season which turned an aggravating season into one that was entertaining (as long as I knew the idiots on the show were going to get a double barrell of Alli the next day!).

I'm also Glad that they found a way to sink the singing witch as she was way too over the top for even this show...
AussieGirl
Hi Chip and welcome to the Meet Market! I also have a "four going on twenty" son (thankfully, not a twin, heh) and a 12 year old too.

Loved the first ep of Survivor, and am also soooooo glad they didn't pick Wanda. Who could have blamed them? What was she thinking - "Let's see how quickly I can annoy the crap out of people"? Did she learn nothing from watching Lill?
felipe79
Hi AussieGirl! I'm actually living in a very soggy Los Angeles right now. Thankfully the sun has broken through the clouds today, and we're getting a chance to dry out a little bit.

Like most people, I'm also delighted that Wanda, aka Lil 2: Electric Bugaloo, was kicked off last week. If I had to listen to her singing throughout the rest of this season, I might have had to switch over to Joey or some other disaster for the next couple of months.

And Chip, I definitely agree with you. Miss Alli gets major props for making the worst season a little bit better with her recaps. Hopefully this season, with it's weird spellings (Coby? Stephenie?) and model types, will provide a lot of fodder for the recaps that I so eagerly await.
AussieGirl
Yeah, Felipe, we've been reading about the rain and landslides in CA - would you like me to send you some sunshine? We have plenty to spare over here!

And I felt exactly the same about Wanda and her singing. I just do not think I could have listened to that for even one more day, let alone 39, and I'm a full on Survivor fan.
pretty in pinki
Wow, I have not been here in forever! Sorry!
AussieGirl, I feel the same way about Wanda! Gahh... Speaking of sunshine, we have plenty of it! Until today, of course, when the winds started howling and the rain started falling. But spring was coming too quickly and fire season was beginning way too soon (they already put a ban on controlled burning! In February!), so the rain is A-okay with me.
Felipe (and others), I hope you are not caught up in the landslides and what not happening in Cali.
Happy Monday! (Wish it was Thursday)
AussieGirl
Hi Pinki! It's great to see you again mate. Today was our first day of autumn here, and right on cue, it was a little cooler this morning. Nice. Not long to go till Spring for you, right? Is it the 21st that's the official date for you? And the bushfires in Oregon, I remember them well! Just about everywhere we went we had to turn around and go back, there were so many fires burning. Have you ever been to Crater Lake? When we went there, there was so much smoke from the nearby fires, but you could still see the amazing beauty of the lake. And the rest of Oregon. Have I told you how much I love Oregon? I have? Oh yes, that's right, a few times now! A truly stunning place.

While you're waiting for Thursday, I'm always waiting for Tuesdays, as that's the night Survivor is on here. Great episode tonight - I think it's going to be a fantastic season. And didn't Peachy look good in that teal shirt?
pretty in pinki
Aussie, ITA. Teal shirt=yumm. I have no idea when the first day of spring is. All I know is that it's in March. I could never think of Tuesdays as Survivor Night, mainly because it's been on Thursdays for so long! My neighbors just got back from Australia. They said the weather was beautiful down there. I should ask them where they went, but I never see them! They got back and then left for eastern Oregon to visit their son.
I love Oregon too. My favorite place is probably Multnomah Falls and all the hiking trails up there. Get this- my sister wants to get married in the Gorge, outside! Granted, her wedding is not going to be for two more years, but it's never too early for her to start planning!
Gosh, where is everybody?!
AussieGirl
I don't know where everyone went to, Pip. It just got really quiet in here the last few weeks. Come back, guys!

Is Multnomah Falls near Mt Hood? I'm not sure, but I seem to recall that name somewhere in my memories of our time there. We went up to the Timberline Lodge and had lunch there. There were skiers and lots of snow and this was in August! I couldn't believe it. It was so pretty everywhere you looked. But that was my experience of just about everywhere we went in Oregon. I keep telling Mr Aussie, if we ever go back to the US to live, it will be to Oregon, not Montana. MT will just be for visits only.

We're going to the Gold Coast tomorrow for a few days, and staying in a beachfront hotel. I'm really looking forward to the break. It's still quite hot during the days here and I can't wait to swim and walk along the beach.
Teena10242
Howdy all!
Pip nice to see you back. Now we just have to get everyone else back. We don't have to worry about fires here on the east coast. We got another 10 inches of snow in the last couple of days. I'm getting tired of the snow now. I'm hopping that ithis is the end of it. Come on Spring!!

Aussiegirl How are ya Mate? Didn't I tell ya Peachy looked good in green? Oh my, Yummy peachy dreams on that one. I wonder if he has anymore new colors to wear on this trip. I can't wait to find out. You;ll be the first to know mate, I promise.
Have a great time on the coast. I'm glad it's starting to get cool there. You have had a heck of a summer this year. (oops, i almost wrote winter).

Felipe welcome to the boards. How are you doing with all the rain? I can't believe How many people have lost there homes. It's amazing that that much rain can do that.
Not much going on here. work, work, work. But thursday is coming. Everyone have a good night!
Woodlock
Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been around, I've been trying to keep up with the boards but too tired to post, man I'm a workin' fool lol, but I've requested to the boss lady to see if I could have Peachy days off, well I called them Thursdays to her but eh, so hopefully I can keep them off, so no makin deserts and shakes for the elf tomorow heh.
mikkamtl
Hey all!

Sooo bleebleeblahblahboo to watch these days! Between a wonderful break week where I finally managed a few days north of Montreal to ski, and starting my clinical work at school, and other, general non-tv stuff, I can't believe it's another Thursday double night already.,

Teena, I know what you mean with snow. We keep getting teased here with like a foot of snow, then nice, sunny, mild days, followed by cold and windy. Plus they keep scheduling snow removal operations on my street at 3am...Gah!

AussieGirl, sounds like you'll have a nice couple of days!

Hey Woodlock, other than scheduling, I hope the job is going well!
AussieGirl
Hi guys. Just dropping in to say hi before we leave for the Gold Coast.

Teena aren't you guys done with the snow yet? I can't imagine just months and months of such cold wintry weather. Here we get about 2 weeks of cold weather (Mr Aussie laughs at me when I say it's cold, being from Montana and all) and then it's pretty much warm enough again to go swimming. Life in the tropics. You make sure you have a close look at what Peachy's wearing - I hope the teal shirt makes a reappearance soon.

Mikkamtl glad you had a good skiing break! And good luck with your clinical work at school.

Woody, so did your boss give you Thursdays off? How are you liking the job, mate? I'll bet you're glad to be back home again.

Enjoy your Survivor Thursday y'all, and noooooooooo, I'm not at all jealous and irate that I have to wait till Tuesday to see it here.
Woodlock
Mikka, Aussie, yeah the job is going great! On tuesday, me and a Asst. Manager have to go to Dallas to take a class on produce, we just have to find our own way there so it could become an adventure lol. My brownies and banana splits look edible now so that's good heh. Oh we have a new flavour of ice cream, it's called Cake Batter, and taste of said item, but I swear it's heaven in a cup, or a cone if you want, just none for me.
Teena10242
Howdy all!
Aussiegirl I wish we were done with this snow. I like winter and all, but enough already. I'm sure Mr.Aussie laughs when you say it's cold. Montana can be very cold.
Yeah for Woody Sounds like you are liking your new job, and you get to travel. That's one thing I miss about my old union job. I got to travel for conventions. Last place I went was Chicago, and I had a ball. Let us know how your trip was.

3am snow removal. Uck, I don't envy you Mik that sounds awful. We have had some milder days here, but the tempertures have been below average lately. Feels like it should be January instead of March. Oh well, Spring is coming!
pretty in pinki
Well Mount St. Helens "erupted" yesterday. They (meaning the tv) tells me that it was the biggest plume in two decades but I haven't seen any ash. How boring.
So where is "everybody" and how have you all been?
AussieGirl
Hey MM'ers! We got back from our little holiday yesterday - had a wonderful, wonderful time. The weather was just great - very warm but not ridiculous, just right for the pool and spa, the apartment beautiful and the beach was perfect. For once we didn't have rain - it always seems to rain when we go on holidays! We caught up with quite a few old friends, ate in some great restaurants (I didn't have to cook even once the whole time we were away - Mr Aussie cooked the few times we ate in), went twice to Dreamworld (a previously mentioned theme park - and yes, Hejjie we finally saw the tigers!). I had a superb meal in a luxurious hotel night before last, and I've decided that the next special occasion we have to celebrate, that hotel is where we'll be headed for at least dinner. So all in all, one of the best holidays I've had.

Pinki I heard about Mount St Helens yesterday on the radio and thought of you. How far are you from it?

Woody I reckon I'd like to taste a cake batter ice cream! Sounds delicious! Glad your new job is working out for you, mate.

Teena I had to miss Tuesday night's ep of Survivor (don't faint, heh), but I got my mum to tape it for me and I just watched it. Great ep! Hope the snow all melts and the sun starts shining for you over there.
Woodlock
Man it feels like I've been working and stuff... wait, I have heh, silly me! Oh dudes, I have like a neato job titile its Fresh Market Leader, and yeah I have no idea whom I'm leading, perhaps tomatoes. Ya'll should go here: my job Yo!
mikkamtl
Aww, woodlock, that looks like the kind of place I'd love to llive in!

Glad to hear you had a nice holiday, Aussie. A few friends and I are trying to organize a week in Mexico next month, which would be cool; in the time I've been in Canada, I haven't left Montreal much except for occasional day trips out of the city, and I've never been to Mexico (no one ever believes me when I say this).

Happy Survivor day, y'all!
Woodlock
Heh Mikka, I've never been to Mexico either, I live in Texas which borders Mexico but granted I live in north Texas but still I bet its only like a 12 hour drive or so.
AussieGirl
Well I have been to Mexico, but only to Nogales on a day trip when I was in Tucson. I bought the most beautiful alabaster backgammon set there (which unfortunately broke on the trip back to OZ) and had some absolutely wonderful Mexican food. I sure love Mexican food and it was great to actually be there while eating it.

mikkamtl I hope you do manage to get to Mexico - I can imagine that after being in such cold and snow for so long a week in sunny Mexico would be great.

And hi, Fresh Market Leader! You tell those tomatoes to behave!
pretty in pinki
Aussie, I'm a good one and a half hours away, so no ash sightings.
Woody (or should I call you Fresh Market Leader?) have fun working! Looks like a good place to be, the bannana splits sound great about now...
I am sooo glad this week is over! Terrible, terrible, having to be stuck inside doing work (blech) while it's sunny and 78 degrees (!!) outside! Torture, I tell you, torture.
mikk, the only place in Mexico I've been to was Tijuana, which I strongly advise against you going to. Imagine druck, strung out college student and poor, dirty street peddlers. And multiply it by one hundred.
hejjie1
Hellooooooooo everyone!

Man, it's been ages and of course I'm going to use the favourite excuse - work, work and more work. Flat out and no sign of abating either. We're picking up new clients left, right and centre, but as we're in the early stages of the new work, have to be content with the staff we have at the moment to deliver everything. So everyone's working twice as hard for the same result. Things are sure to get better soon tho'!

It's Survivor night here tonight, although I had a peek lasts week to see who goes and what happens and can I say that I'm VERY glad that person went. Looking forward to seeing the episode tonight!

So, footy season is just around the corner now and our first game is in Sydney so it's a road trip for us! Who-hoo! We're driving up Good Friday, hanging out in Sydney on the Saturday, going out to a great club on Saturday night (the Stonewall in Oxford St - I highly recommend it for anyone thinking of going to Sydney and looking for a boogie), going to the game on the Sunday, and then driving home on the Monday. Thank heaven for a four day Easter weekend that is allowing us to have a fairly inexpensive holiday! And for the gods of annual leave who have granted me the Tuesday off work also!

Aussie, I'm very glad you got to see the Tigers! The next time we go up north for a footy game, we'll more than likely go to Dreamworld.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying life. I promise to be a better MMer and pop in more often!
AussieGirl
Hey Hej, I was wondering what happened to you, mate. Sounds like your workplace is getting quite hectic, so it's great that you had the good sense to book a nice road trip in there! It's been so many years since I've been to Sydney, at least 10, I think. Good place to hang out for awhile. Can't say I'm thrilled about the footy season, mainly because that means the cricket season is finished, but anyway. And hey, did you hear that Warney's going off to live in England? Warning to all British women - don't give him your mobile phone number, heh!

Yay! for Survivor tonight! I also know who's leaving, and am very pleased it's that person. No surprises there. Couldn't come soon enough for me.

Hope all you MM'ers are doing well.
mikkamtl
Quick heaads up to those of you who view Survivor a week behiind us (hi Aussie)... there's some twists you may not want to find out about ahead of time, so venture into the ep and contestant threads with this knowledge. Otherwise, you're in for a surprising evening next Tuesday (is that right?).

Apart from that, not much else. Well, lots, actually, but most inappropriate for the MM. Hee!
AussieGirl
Hi Mikka! **waves** I've already heard (in detail) about what happens in the next show, and it sounds great! I can't wait to see it. And don't worry about spoiling me, I already know pretty much every boot right to the end, including the F2. I figured, seeing as I was getting accidentally spoiled each time I logged on to various sites, I may as well go the whole hog and get all the info, heh. So I did!

Everyone have a good weekend! (Well, it's Friday here, so I can say that!).
Woodlock
Man, I just work about 35 hours a week and I'm too tired to come to my precious since like Wensday, of course some of you get to log in during work lucky dogs lol.
AussieGirl
Woody I hope you get some down time soon, mate. Tell those silly tomatoes to behave themselves, heh!
suctionprints
Hi, everyone. Sorry I've been this mole person, but have been enjoying the Aussie-centric conversation that's sprouted up. Most cool.

Well, woody, working 35 hours a week in the restaurant biz is like 45-50 elsewhere. So, it's ok to be tired.

So, my question to everyone is green nail polish too weird to wear? I have had some good luck with a blue that looks more like a soap bubble than actual blue. But green? I am getting tempted by some of the spring shades, but am afraid I'll look really jaundiced. Or like Godzilla's cousin.
suctionprints
Double-posting so people will see this thread has been updated. The menu isn't reflecting it...
TraceyBee
Hey, suction!

I'd wear green polish, but only on my toes. Mostly, that's because I never wear nail polish on my fingers, it chips too quickly and looks like hell. But I have fun with my toenails during the summer. I like lavender glitter polish a lot, but I did a red-white-and-blue glitter polish a couple of years back for 4th of July.

I'm taking tomorrow off from work, yay!
AussieGirl
Hi Suction and TraceyBee - nice to see you guys again!

Suction, I think you should wear whatever colour you like, mate! I remember once wearing red, yellow and green on my fingernails, it took forever to do and looked great. But I wore it to school and the head nun nearly had a heart attack, and made me remove it. Boo hiss!
suctionprints
See, I kind of avoid green in my clothing because it makes me look yellow. Unless it's a nice rich hunter green. But that doesn't look so hot on nails, I don't think. What I really want are the sparkly yellow-greens I'm seeing. But maybe on the toes, away from my face, it would work. I might try that, tracey. And yay for sparkly lavender polish! I like it too!

Looks like another lovely spring day here in Mpls. Good, we needed it.

hejjie, ooh, Easter in Sydney sounds like heaven!
dangerKay
Hello Marketeers! I'm in Chicago, and it's unfortunately snowing (I wish the responsible parties would get on the ball with this whole spring thing!), and I needed a break from my spreadsheet bullshit.

The other day I dropped my phone onto the track of one of the subway stops on the red line, and after a whirlygig of very pointless help from the Chicago Transit Authority staff, ended up climbing down there myself to get it with the help from this 10-year-old stranger who was way too excited about the whole affair. It had landed in a little puddle too (ew--I don't want to think about what the puddle WAS), so when I got it out, it refused to work for 2 days before magically coming back to life. So, all in all, I felt like a badass, and it was sort of fun.

I personally enjoy bright crazy nail polishes. It's spring! Or at least it's supposed to be! I say go nuts.
AussieGirl
Hi dangerKay! I remember those Chicago "Springs" (I lived there in 1981 and 1982) - a blizzard in April, just lovely! Not. And double ewwwww about your phone, but I'm glad it started working again for you.
suctionprints
Hee! Great story, Kay!

Well, I decided to go with a kind of tealy turquoise. I have no problems with the bright polishes, but I do have problems with looking ill while wearing them. As soon as this ridiculously good-wearing red polish starts to look a little ratty, I'll take the new color out for a test drive! Thanks for the input, folks!

And Happy Easter!!!
pretty in pinki
Hey guys, Happy Easter!!
I just got back from Arizona at about two in the am on Friday. My plane sat with everyone in it on the runway for about 45 minutes, then we had a head wind or something, so I was late late late! And sunburnt all over my shoulders and back. But I had fun. It was nice to see my cousins who I haven't seen since I was about three.
suction, I personally love bright blues and purple sparkly colors. I bought this great stuff at Wal*Mart really cheap. Love Wal*Mart.
Woodlock
Hey Suction, Tracey, Aussie, PiP, Danger Kay and everyone else! Gee I sound chipper lol.

Yesterday, meaning Saturday, I know it's technitly monday now but I just got home from work so it sill seems like Sunday, was crap it was cold and raining and everyone wanted Ice cream the freaks, so on my break I had a sundae haha.

Glow-in-the-dark nail polish is kinda green lol, you can get at the wal mart round Halloween I belive, and it looks awesome in the dark, besides that I've only worn black, Silver and bubble gum pink.

So shakes and malts on the house, I have 27 flavours: Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Cherry Chocolate Chip, Orange Sherbet, Rocky Road, Black Cherry, German Chocolate, Chocolate Almond, Key Lime, Black Walnut, Mint Chocolate Chip, Cookies 'n' Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Butter Pecan, Strawberry Cheesecake, Peanut Butter Cup, Pepperment, Banana Pecan Yougart, Cake Batter, Cappachino Chunky Chocolate Yougart, Chocolate Chip, Cheeries Pecans and Creme, Carb Watch Mint, Carb Watch Coffee, Carb Watch Vanilla, and Carb Watch Chocolate.
birdlady
Hi Everybody!! Gosh, it's been so long since I posted here. I hope everyone's doing well.

AussieGirl I see you've been here faithfully while I've been neglecting this thread. I just haven't had anything really exciting going on in the last few months, so I've really had nothing much to say.

But, now there are some pretty cool things going on. Birdgirl will be going to her college Commencement in the middle of May. I'm really looking forward to seeing her get her degree. I just hope I don't make a fool of myself by crying like a typical proud mama. I guess I've been to enough of these kinds of things (I remember I've even teared up whenever she had a solo in high school choir!) to know that I'm gonna humiliate myself!! Oh well, I'm glad Birdgirl's got a sense of humor.

Birdboy is doing great in his job. He's talking about saving money to move out on his own (more than likely with his girlfriend, but he hasn't mentioned that part!). It's so cool watching him mature and take on responsibilities. I'm really very proud of both my kids. I bet you couldn't tell!

Well, it's finally getting to be spring here in upstate NY. The temperature got up in the 50s today and I actually saw the sun for a little while. I've seen lots of geese flying north and the robins are coming back. I can't wait to see the first flowers, and the leaf buds coming out on the trees!

What's the weather like for you now Aussie? I hope it's nice for you.

Where's Yogi? How're you doin' girl? I checked back through the thread from the end of February and I didn't see you. Hope all is well.

Well, I can't wait to see the next Survivor. This season has finally returned to what used to make this show great -- really awesome characters! And it's nice to see Miss Alli enjoying herself again while she writes the recaps.
AussieGirl
Birdlady! It's so great to see you here again! It's been forever since you last posted and I was wondering what happened to you. And as for being a typical proud mama, your kids seem to be doing really well and you have every reason to be proud of them. I'm so glad you guys have been getting some warmer weather there - you sure do have long winters! And I love how you have described the coming of Spring there - the geese, robins, flowers and leaf buds. Here, it's just started to get a bit cold early in the morning, but by 10am or so it's back to t-shirts and shorts. But we don't really get too much of a change of season here in that everything is still green in the middle of winter. Anyway mate, hope you post again soon, whether or not you have "exciting" news!

And hi Pinki, Suction, Woody!
TraceyBee
Hi, everyone! Survivor tonight, back to its regular night. Having it on Wednesdays was really throwing me off my schedule.

Aussie, you're in Brisbane, right? I visited there once in July, and it was so beautiful. I saw a kookaburra in a tree in some park or other, and he let us get right up close to him.

We had our first spring thunderstorms yesterday. MrBee said that the cat spent all morning under the bed. She doesn't like thunder or high winds. Poor kitty!
dangerKay
At least your kitty tried to stay safe in the storm! Mine went nutso yesterday and somehow managed to claw out the very top of one of my window screens, climb all the way up it and outside, then climb all the way down to sit (uncomfortably-looking might I add) on the 2" wide ledge. And I live on the third floor with a big ole asphalt alley as a view! I woke up and couldn't believe it and shoved my hand out the window and yanked that little jerk back in. I couldn't believe it! I spoil the shit out of him; he hasn't earned a death wish!
AussieGirl
TraceyBee yes, I live in Brisbane. Kookaburras are lovely, except when they dive into your lounge room window every morning at dawn - sounds like a gunshot. And if that's not bad enough, it used to sit there and laugh at me! Have you ever heard a kookaburra laugh? It used to do this for about 3 weeks every year. But I do like kookaburras, just not this kami kazee kookaburra.
suctionprints
That reminded me of a song from Girl Scouts (and for a short time Guides):

Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree
Merry, merry king of the bush is he
Laugh Kookaburra! Laugh Kookaburra!
Gay your life must be.
