Clark: Bla blah SOULMATE?
Nois: Blah blah DESTINY?

Huh, that's funny. They left out the part about him treating her like an annoying older sister (squeak! squeak!) , and the part where she gets on his last nerve, and the part where they've known each other for four years and haven't really cared all that much about one another, let alone given any sense that they might be soulmates and destined for one another somehow.

Aside from that, it all makes perfect sense.
scout1279
Then bunch of Crimson shots of Clois then Lois at a the Ace of Hearts Club

"I'm destined to be with a man who flies a lot and wears tights"

Did Lois actually say that at some point? Because that's really cheesy, and bad.
EllyF

It is egregiously bad, and cannot possibly be about Clark. How could she know that Mr. Flannel would ever put on a pair of tights? How could she know he will someday be able to fly? One assumes she's talking about Ollie (tights, plus a private jet), but it's still an awful clunker of a line. Ow! My head! I think it's raining lame anvils!

I don't know why, but it looks like they aren't talking about eachother but about other people. I know I'm grasping at straws but it seems Clark is talking about Chloe, and Lois is talking about Oliver.

Oliver has his own jet and flies all over the place applies to him too. I dunno.

That's why I believe the Clark line is said in Instinct, and Lois's line is said in Toxic.
Chiriru
I agree about the Toxic (possibly Identity?) and Instinct mis-mash.

What I don't get is AM has 22 episodes, AM's group was very loud as was the media about her re-signing.... why not promote her... at all?
Nat0117
Well, I suppose that if clinging to hope is on your agenda, you might deduce that the show wants to keep AM/Chloe as the underdog, not really promote either, and really shock everyone when Chlois happens.
marikology
I refuse to watch it. Too bad Clark is talking about Chloe and Lois is talking about Ollie. I'd suggest the CW actually watch the show before making such promos, but I wouldn't want them to go through that self-abuse.
Arista
I skipped most of season S7 (except for Descent and the finale), so imagine my surprise at seeing this. And on the heels of "Plastique" no less. What is this fuckery?

Someone please stop me, WTF?. What episode is this rumored to be from?
liz antoinette
That's from Crimson in season 6, Arista
CantThinkUpName
It's nice to know that most of a hero's passion comes from drug use.
liz antoinette
ICONIC! drug use.
Arista
That's from Crimson in season 6, Arista

Wow, really? Thanks. I guess I shouldn't have skipped so many eps that season and officially ended the series in S5. I'd be much happier.
marina to
CTUN, you slay me. And nice to see you pop by, Arista!
Arista
Aw. My pleasure to bless you with my presence, marina. :P But I'm really considering popping out permanently. Chloe retconning her entire life, so Lois can assume her identity chaps my precious ass.

And that trailer is abhorrent bull stool. It's like the writers are taking the past 7 years of Chloe's life and implanting those memories into Failis. Hell, they're even lifting certain lines.
Nat0117
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that promo is bullshit after thinking a bit. Not going to get worked up about the Clois stuff. Clark's talking about Chloe and Nois about Oliver and the network has no fucking idea what's going on. And since when does Clark Kent need passion? Clark "my pants are getting tight, time to take you home" Kent? Clark is so not into the passion (except when he's near Chloe as she brings it out in him--remember "Mortal" when Chloe touches Clark's non-wound in the barn? HOT) or the ladies. Clark Kent makes David Archuleta look like Colin Farrell. And I highly doubt that Nois'll go for a sexless relationship in the beginning.

Of course, this is S8, where all past characterization is checked at the door. So, anything is possible I suppose.
nwp01

Oh but you see! When it's ICONIC there is not need for LOGIC.
MartaDolores
There's a mish-mashed Clois trailer? I think I'd care if I ever actually saw any SV promos on tv.

As it stands, I'm still curious as to why they don't promote perhaps the Clark/Doomsday thing more.
jwm

I bet it's from something cheesy like a fortune cookie or palm reading.

The Iconic theme of Superman: "Truth, Justice & the American Way"
evidently doesn't apply to Chloe.

American popular culture broadly embraced the idea that anyone, regardless of the circumstances of his or her birth, could significantly increase his or her standard of living through determination, hard work, and natural ability. It affirms the supreme value and dignity of the individual; ...it defines an ethic of self-reliance, merit, and character, and judges by achievement: "deeds, not creeds" are what count.

Smallville's message with this fuckery : Deeds do not matter, it's creeds/name. It goes against everything Superman supposedly stands for.
nwp01
So I have a speculation again.

Let me preface by saying that maybe I should call myself David Copperfield or something, because all the bad predictions that I had for Nois (and some for Chloe) seem to be coming true:

1) Lois became the bestest reporter evah! in 1 month in Offscreenville.

2)Lois now does not care about the headline but only the "truth". OK. If I close my eyes and count to 10, maybe I'll forget "BIG COOL HEADLINE HERE". 1...2...3....4...5...

3) Lois' darker hair immediately makes her super!reporter...with the advice to prove it!

4) Lois will never face any consequences for Groisgate. Nor will it ever be mentioned.

And here is number 5:

I predict that with the upcoming dealings with Ollie, everything that Lois tearfully said to Clark last season about not being able to handle Ollie's superhero life will be retconned away. To make way for the ICONIC couple, of course.

In a discussion at the DP or the Kent Barn (with the sunlight providing a wonderful glow over them both), Lois will tell Clark something to the extent of: "I now understand Ollie's life and why he did what he did. It's no longer about him putting me second in his life but about saving others. It's for the greater good, and that I can deal with".

Cue an anvilicious future Clois line to this effect: "For reason X, Ollie and I could not work out...maybe he was not who I was meant to be with. I seem to have a thing for guys with hero complexes, and when the next one comes along, I'll be happy to share him with the world for the greater good".

Cue the anvil smashing my head in.

The lines will be more eloquently written than this of course, but I fear this will come true as well.

In the grand scheme of lighswitches being flipped, this is not so farfetched.
Eurybia

I see your Understanding!Lois and raise you a Motivational!Lois. It will be Lois who urges Oliver to be a hero again (after the bout of drinking and questioning JH was talking about), because now she gets it (without, of course, living through it again).

But yeah, they won't work out in the end. Because... well, Lollie isn't ICONIC.

I bet it's from something cheesy like a fortune cookie or palm reading.
Ugh. *eye roll* You're probably right.

I wonder what episode that's from.
nwp01
Oh Eurybia. I think you are right! (sadly) How could I have missed that too?

Also, once Understanding!Lois and Motivational!Lois have these bonding moments with Clark, he will then look at Lois with new eyes, because he's never met a woman who could handle a super hero's life with such grace as Lois seems to.

Never.

Not anyone.

That he's ever met.

In his whole life.

Who could handle a super hero's life.

Right.

He will be impressed with the sacrifice of herself for the greater good, her willingness to understand a hero's life, her desire for "truth", her journalistic prowess...

He will see that Lois represents, and ties him to "humanity" and thus their legendary love will begin.

Of. Course.

CW Connect Sam Witwer fan question and answer session

I'll refrain from gushing yet again.

Who cast Witwer and Freeman? They deserve a raise.
jimmy4
Thanks Teen Titan! Taken to the SW thread.
Eurybia
Thanks, Teen Titan! I love him so much! Now I have to go back to the SW thread, which I just left to gush about how much I love him.
nwp01
Oh my gosh, I love him!! If anything, he will be one of the few (very few) reasons I will still watch this train wreck.
Independent
Cue the anvil smashing my head in.

Medic! Somebody call a Medic!

GO DOOMS! *just joshing*

Excellent predictions, Mr. Copperfield.
Old Juan
I agree that EDLois's I can't come second in a relationship with somebody who is a hero is most likely going to be retconned out in the next episode. I also agree that she will most likely be the one who will convince Oliver that he has to go back to being Green Arrow. Like I said these writers are the "ends justify the means" type that will pretty much do anything to more their story agenda forward regardless if it's organic or makes sense.
apeygirl
To quote:

I got nothing against Superman. I got everything against blue tights. So... you know, look... This guy's asking for it. Tom Welling's asking for it. And he's gonna get it. Sorry.

I fucking love Sam!

It seems from the Hero's Passion video of Iconic iconography that Nois is talking about still being in live with Oliver, no? That's sort of how it came off to me. Of course, the CW monkeys spin it to change the meaning, but I don't see that as being very Clois-y.

Oh but you see Nois will start loving the hero and GA will not longer want to be a hero so she will need to look for another hero and bam! Clark is starting to act like one so of course she will fall for him right on the bat and by the time Ollie comes around to be a hero again it till be too late because she already fell for a better superhero. Is all on the timing!
Now if you excuse me I need wash my brain with bleach.
Teen Titan
Some more images from Toxic, thanks to Andreas. Of course the drug dealer/kidnapper is black, Smallville. Although I guess that's consistent with the mobisode origin episodes.

And I assume the guy holding the knife at Oliver's throat has just finished shaving his perfectly smooth chest.

They should give Justin Hartley's chest a spot in the credits. Oh wait... They did.
CantThinkUpName
Of course the drug dealer/kidnapper is black, Smallville.
It could be like every episode of Law and Order where every black guy is either innocent or hired by the lily white rich guy who gets arrested during his board meeting.
scout1279

No China White? I predict this episode will not be nearly as awesome as Green Arrow: Year One, but it will have Justin Hartley's bare chest, and therefore I will watch.
Teen Titan
CW Source with Justin Hartley

He's so charming. The cast this season is awesome.

Black Canary back in October? Doesn't sound right to me.
Captain Pants
Meet the Psychotic Jeweler.

Apparently he's been on Smallville before.
Eurybia
Oh, the Psychotic Jeweler. Why, oh why, is there a psychotic jeweler? (Thanks for the link, though, Captain Pants)

Black Canary back in October? Doesn't sound right to me.
That's really weird. It doesn't sound right to me either.

It could be like every episode of Law and Order where every black guy is either innocent or hired by the lily white rich guy who gets arrested during his board meeting.
Oh, don't even joke about it being the white guy, because you know they'd love to make Lex behind the whole thing or something. *eye roll*
Teen Titan
I just saw the Instinct trailer. I take back everything I said about the crappy wig. THAT is how you do Maxima.

And is she flipping a car with Lois inside? I may have to marry her.

"There's nothing romantic about Lois and Clark."

Oh Lois, from your lips to the producers ears.

There used to be a place where someone put up the trailers in HD. Does anyone know what the site was?
EllyF

It was SVFan.com. It disappeared without explanation some time ago and never came back:-(.
Teen Titan
Ahh, damn. Thank you.
Old Juan
Instinct trailer was pretty lame. I do have high hopes for Maxima knocking the shit out of EDLois. That would be entertaining and I'd would favorite it on my Youtube account.

I thought it was good, Clark getting a little loving(shirt wide open for the ladies) and a little cat fight for the men, what more could anybody want. It should be a good fun episode, the Maxima episode from the animated series one of my favs(if only they could have got Lobo as well). This probably the epsiode I have wanted to see the most since the spoilers came out just to see exactly what they do with the Maxima character.
meemalee
"There's nothing romantic about Lois and Clark."

This made me feel a little better about the preceding "A legendary love is thrown off course" ...
Nat0117
A legendary love is thrown off course

Utter bullshit. What legendary love? Give me a small break, please. Can't we even make promos that are about Smallville anymore? The only legendary love from THIS series is Clana and maybe Chlark depending on how you interpret "legendary." I can't stand it when the show gets lazy and forces an issue simply because it's comics canon even if it makes zero sense in terms of the series, and this is now the SECOND trailer we've seen from the CW in a week where Clois is being touted as this great love affair. That's nice, considering last night Nois admitted to being unsure if breaking up with Oliver was the right thing and clearly displayed signs of love for him.

If they're gonna Clois, whatever, just can't they at least try and work up to it? It's just so lazy.
Teen Titan
That line didn't bother me since I assume the promo monkeys don't actually watch the show.

Maybe they think Lois and Clark are a couple? Although it confuses me that one half of this legendary romance has the promo line of "There's nothing romantic about Lois and Clark".

Ouch. Something just hit me in the head.

It was big and metal and anvil like. It was an Ironic Anvil. And ICONIC! Ironic Anvil. Smallville's weapon of choice.
meemalee
I'll get you a bandage
Chiriru
Black Canary back in October? Doesn't sound right to me.

Probably she comes back in October to film which probably means she's in some episode post hiatus.
Iconic
I just don't understand the CW. Chlarkers are already having issues with this show, a Clois trailer isn't something they should be doing, especially when they need the ratings. Next week the trailer was all about Clois, if you're a Chlarker why watch the damn episode?

I'm sorry but this isn't about Chlark, it's about Smallville. That trailer is a slap to the face of Smallville viewers who's been with this show since Season 1.
Captain Pants
Probably she comes back in October to film which probably means she's in some episode post hiatus.

But which? Legion films in November, and BC definitely doesn't appear in Bloodline, Abyss, or Bride.
