Doomsday makes everything better. It's like PS3 read about Neanderthal!Clark and brought him to life. Brutal, savage, Chloe-loving, Jimmy-smashing life.

This is true but I also believe that she would be one of the easiest of all the actors to get resigned for season nine. Both her and AA wouldn't be too hard. It's both TW and AM that are going to be the tough sales. I think both TW and AM are going to be ready to move on with their careers after this year. I could just see TPTB getting ED and AA to resign first so that a supporting cast is in place and then work their way into trying to get TW and AM back only to fail. Then we get the brand new show Dipshit and Pimp Ass Playa: The Whacky Adventures of Lois and Jimmy. Come on! Don't tell you don't get giddy just thinking about the possibilities.

I don't know how tough AM is going to be to sign. After all, she did sign another contract this season as the show has been slowly going down the drain, IMO, and losing a big chunk of the cast. Perhaps next year will be a different story with AM but I think that TW is going to be the toughest one to keep. I think that the only way that he'll stay is if he gets offered enough money and PS3 actually freshen up the show a bit this season.



I'd have to think that the top priority would be to get TW back before signing other members of the cast. Even if TPTB decide to create a spinoff show without TW, I would doubt that ED and AA would even be used for it. I actually think that a spinoff show would be something AM would be used for.

Actually I think AM resigned because she probably believed that season eight will be the last and that way she has a guaranteed income for one more year before she would have to start auditioning for parts again. This situation was a no lose for her. But after this year things might be different.



I was only kidding earlier. I know that they would have to get TW on board before even looking. But I just think it would be hilarious to see the IIC try to sell me the concept of Smallville without TW and AM.

I actually would like, if there was a spinoff, to see AM return to her investigative roots. Kind of a female Kolchak. Taking the wall of weird to a blog or radio station as a female Art Bell and, hopefully, meeting up with two certain hot brothers in an occasional crossover. I mean, I want Chlois, but I would take this.

But, realistically, I don't think they'll get a ninth season or a spin-off.

TPTB are talking out of their arses. Season 9 is like the chupacabra - a myth. Ain't true, ain't gonna happen, but some can dare to dream!

She also had the upper hand in this case with the two leads leaving (KK, MR), another fan favorite gone (JG) and knowing that she was working in all the episodes allongside the lead (TW) plus the opportunity to direct. Going without getting those creds would seem insane she is an actress and she knows how hard is the show business.

But now that she got that I doubt she will not use them to get job on a better series or even better a leading lady role on another one.

On other news, Justin Hartley gave us a few new tidbits about Odissey in an interview to Sci-Fi Talk Live, around 40 minutes in:

- Despite the trailer, the Justice League (or the GA) finds Clark early on. The trailer teased about the search lasting the entire episode, but it happens early on. And the rest of the episode is about something else.
- Clark starts embracing his destiny "a bit more" in this episode (if I had a nickel for everytime I heard that...). He puts himself in harms way almost all the episode, and Justin says that embracing his destiny is something that you'll definetly see him doing during this season.
- Justin thought he had to speak with a Russian accent only to find out he had to speak actual Russian; about 4 lines of it. It was hard for him. It took him a week to learn it.

On other episodes:

- When talking about Clark dressing up as the GA in "Hydro" last year, he says "it happens again, someone protects someone else's identity again this year" and that "it's like a reverse".
- Justin doesn't know if this is the last season for Smallville. Some people say this is the last and some people say they'll do 9 and 10. He thinks it depends on how well Smallville does in the ratings and if people want to come back.
- Oliver this year, is reeling, like doing some "deductive reasoning", and "like making a list almost, in his brain, of the pros and cons", and "thinking of everything that he gave up to be GA, if it's worth it or not", and "he's starts this whole downward spiral". For all of the get out of your ass Clark! of last year, JH says that "now you have Clark going: What are you doing man??", and coaxing him out of this "drunken coma", where he's abandoning the GA, and he doesn't do anything, he just wants to party and drink.
- "It's odd, because now you have the one guy who's been on the costume, is now running away from the costume, and the one who has never put the costume on, is now starting to wonder: 'Hey! Maybe I'll embrace my destiny a little more..."

Other stuff:

- Interesting quote for me: "I made sure that I did all the research, you know, the comic books are the best thing to read. They take you through all the mythology, and then once you're familiar with that, then you can understand how Smallville is spinning it in a different way a little bit. And then, you know, as long as the caracther lives and breathes as it should, it really doesn't matter if GA is in Metropolis or Smallville, it doesn't matter, as long as his spirit is embodied in the role, I think, and in the writing."
- They still have James Marshall in Vancouver, while the producers are all still in LA, so they "still have the same base", and JM has a great eye for detail, Justin says.

I'm a bit worried that the CW trailer has set up completely unrealistic expectations for people for the premiere. It makes it look like it's going to be all Justice League, all the time.

When the people behind the show have been clear that the Justice League stuff is only in the first ten minutes or so.

I'll be very interested to see the half hour breakdowns for the ratings. And then the ratings for Plastique. I can see how some people might tune in, feel let down or ripped off, and then not come back to the show the next week.

Okay... So Ollie's going to dress in red and blue and do something heroic and then... kiss Jimmy? Heh! I'd pay to see that, actually.

Though to be more accurate, they'd have to bring MR back and have him kiss JH, tenderly saying he'll keep Clark's secret. Yeah. I might give my life's savings for that (while knowing it won't happen).

Sigh. Is anyone else sad that the HoYay will be lacking this season. It's like MR took it all away with him.

I am deeply sad. Without Lex it's just not the same. :(

And apeygirl, I think I'd give up my life savings to see that as well. Maybe if we pool our resources? Probably not...

Whoa, "drunken coma"? I didn't see that one coming. I figured his reevaluating of GA would be more along the "I want to be with this woman I love" not self-destruction. I guess even though they changed his apartment's set to the Ace of Clubs, he'll still be living there. Heh.

We don't know what JH is doing (seriously, he's barely mentioned at all in the spoilers). We don't know what SW will be like. There's still a chance! Maybe not as special as Clex but something.

Not an expert, but I understand that the comics portrayed the GA as a womanizer/billionaire playboy type -- a little like the tuxedo'd Bruce Wayne with women dripping from his arms -- as a permanent aspect of his character.

I'm assuming this drunken/wondering-what-the-H-I'm-doing anti-hero spell is only temporary for Smallville.

No, that's Tony Stark. Ollie's not so much with the booze, as far as I know, but he likes the ladies. If Oliver Queen doesn't father at least one illegitimate child this season, I will be disappointed.

I'd also like to see him lose his fortune, become a communist, and get all pissed off at his ward for becoming a junkie (though I suppose he would need a ward first).

I'm still waiting for Hal Jordan to show up so he and Ollie can hop in the ol' RV and drive across America.

Still not overly excited for this episode, but damn Chloe looks gorgeous.

This "past with Oliver" is going to screw up my dreams for Tess, I know it, but at least Hartley's shirtless.

Allison looks amazing. And I'm digging the professional look on Clark. I guess the red jacket dies in Odyssey!

Pity it isn't Plastique. We could have another touching Clark-EDLois moment. I can imagine it now... The jacket meets its demise in the explosion, and Clark cradles it in his arms and cries like a baby, while EDLois runs toward him and flings her arms around him, weeping as she shares his grief.

Meanwhile, a grateful fandom rejoices that the damn thing is shredded.

Oh my gosh this cast is pretty. If no plot, there's always pretty.

On a serious note: AM's dress is absolutely gorgeous. It stays true to her character-always into funky, eclectic things with her own twist. As usual, my boys look good, and whoever is doing ED's make up is doing such a better job than earlier seasons.

I don't know what it is, but Erica just looks more stunning than ever. Allison looks great, and the smokey make-up is sexy (the dress is unfortunate, though).

I always welcome shirtless men, and Hartley is no exception. His sweaty, golden skin looks delicious. Ahem. And CLARK IN A SUIT. Praise the gods. That man goes above and beyond hot. Sam Witwer has a unique attractiveness. I can't pinpoint it.

Cassidy... is all frumpled. :P I know she looks great, though. :)

AM, ED both look very hot! I think ED looks better with darker/redder hair.

The boys of course are bringing the pretty. I am glad the THRJ is nowhere to be seen. Thank God...although I do hope he dones on his red/blue/white tight t-shirts once in a while.

For some reason Cassidy reminded me of Lana in those photos. I don't know whether it's the hair, but from that angle, she really reminded me of Lana.

And the Chimmy plastic ring is on Chloe's finger... Ugh. Horrible looking thing.

From the looks of it, Oliver is brought to Isis?? I thought he was in the hospital. And Chlark are investigating a plant from South Pacific, apparently: Euphobia marshalis, whatever relevance that name has. Makes sense, given what happens to Oliver that I don't remember if it's a spoiler or not, so I won't say it.

Ok, onto the more shallow notes:

Took me a while to recognize Cassidy as well. Tom just looks wonderful. I LOVE dress up Clark. I'll be drooling on my screen. JH looks hot. The boys are definetly bringing the pretty.

Chloe looks great! I was a bit shocked at the dress at first, because I thought they would go after something more classical, but this is exactly her. Dress up and fancy, but still a touch of spunk. I love her little golden purse and all the whole outfit put together brings her a godess aura, IDK... She has this whole Egyptian/Kawatche thing going on for her, and put her together with the Isis symbol... Looks great. I love ED's hair, looks wonderful on her. AM's hair is absolutely gorgeous as well, reminds me of S5 Chloe hair, my favorite Chloe hair season to date.

Regarding Erica looking more beautiful, I think the darker hair is about 1000 times more flattering on her than the producer mandated half-blonde look she's been sporting since season 4.



Sam Witwer is gorgeous. He's overwhelming masculine, like a guy from the 40's. Nowadays, all the boys on TV are pretty. He's handsome. And ridiculously sexual, with those lips and eyes...

I agree Titan. I have been finding myself navigating towards Sam more than I ever have towards Tom. I like guys that have more of a mystery to them. And those lips, lord I want to do bad things to them.
