Just reading quote - haven't seen/heard it.
Well, considering how Lex treated his last pseudo-brother, I guess I buy that. If by "love" he means he wants complete control over his brother and will destroy him if the brother doesn't do what he wants.

I definitely think there's more to Chloe heals Lana( if that's the situation) than what the trailer is suggesting. I have no clue what that might be though.
Could it be Jor-El's doing? With Lionel dead he needs someone else as Oracle... just a thought.

I saw the trailer on youtube. It's much more depressing like that than zoomed through after the show (which I did). On TV is seemed to have much more hoyay goodness. Seen more slowly, it makes me want to gouge my eyes out. Lana saying good bye (I presume in a video): well at least the show logistics have a precendent from earlier seasons. Lois hugging Clark - I guess if Chloe's going to be in coma land it will be their version of the Ewing shower between the two - they'll be able to go back to Season 4 and start over. Ghod why?

Only one of them will survive??!!
I hope it's not a fake death thing. That's been done too many times....it couldn't be! How can he fake his death in the Fortress??? Also, does Jor-El intervene? I mean, Lex is about to hurt his son in front of his "eyes"...so maybe he steps in? If he does, is it Jor-El that "kills" Lex? Maybe not kill him, but fast freeze his butt somewhere off in Timbuktu?
Kara: I think she is infected with Braniac when she's speaking to Lex.
Clark: I just thought of something. I'll bet $5.00 that Clark is NOT tearing up over Chloe...and instead, he's crying about Lana leaving. Wasn't there some information about Clark experiencing the greatest blow by Lana's absence??
Why do I say this? Because of Lois. First, Lois' hug looks like one of her awkward ones...and considering that it is her flesh and blood in a coma, I would hope that she would be tore up from the floor up about it. But she's the one with the dry face and Clark is the one all in tears..
I can see it play as follows: Clark tells Lois about Lana leaving while he heaves in tears, and Lois says: "Her Loss! Don't worry Clark, one day, when you least expect it, you'll find the right one for you"
Cue anvil falling and cracking my skull open.
If I'm wrong, I'll take everyone out for imaginary bear.
Edit: Thank you Sweetme! You are quick! :)

Oh, Zod help me, if AM doesn't return, they're going to pull a Cordelia, and have her be in a coma until she dies, thus effectively ending the build up to an actual relationship.
Oh,
Smallville.
Just when I thought I could not hate you anymore, you steal a bad plot device from a superior show, and put my favorite character in a goddamn coma. Then you arrest her.

That's more fans interpretation of PS3 comments about Clark experiencing his greatest blow and Kristen's comment that Lana would be leaving Smallville.
I still don't think it's has simple as Chloe heals Lana because than questions come up about why didn't she try doing that before. Why would Chloe all of a sudden decide now to heal Lana?

Chloe's plotline being a major driving force for this episode?EDIT: Found it

The storyline of Chloe does not tie in to what goes on at the FOS, although she does greatly affect the overall arc of the episode.

Oh,
nwp01, you're onto something. It definitely looks like Lois isn't too concerned. But...okay, Clark is like freakin BLUBBERING in that trailer. If they are going to have the future Superman
cry like a bitch because his girlfriend left him...I just can't. I can't. Please.
I am HOPING that Lois seems calm because she doesn't know what's going on and ultimately how powerful Brainiac is. She can't really understand the depth of what Chloe's condition might mean. So...okay, maybe Clark's just figured out that Lana's up and about because Chloe's healed her, and he realizes what her sacrifice might mean for her. He can't share this with Lois. So she thinks he's just upset about Lana leaving, and maybe trying to persuade him that Chloe'll be okay? I don't know. I'm desperately trying to find another answer here.
Why would Chloe all of a sudden decide now to heal Lana?
Because the DoS is about to do something to Chloe to make her spill her secrets...and if she goes comatose, they can't get in?
nwp01

Oh, sorry
Nat! I don't mean to put you over the edge! Love this by the way:
If they are going to have the future Superman cry like a bitch because his girlfriend left him...I just can't. I can't. Please.
LMAO..I needed that tonight.
It just seems strange how dry-eyed Lois is, considering that it is (could be) her cousin, and she was
bawling about loosing Oliver. Even when Chloe died back in Phantom (?) she had more concern on her face..even though she had no clue what was going on. The hug and her non-expression indicate to me that she is more removed from the situation...so I figure it's Lana. :(
Again, I could be wrong. Don't take my word on it at all..I just lile to interpret SV....it's a bad habit...bad habit...
Edit: Regarding the coma: What if Jor-El did it??? I would ask why he is suddenly involved..but...who needs explanations on this show anyway?
Or maybe, when Clark said last week: "Release Lana!", Braniac said: "Sure! But I'll f-up your BFF instead!"
Teen Titan
May 8, 2008 @ 10:36 pm
Or, she figures she's going to jail for life anyway, so why not give it a shot?
Hell, if she heals Lana and it looks like she dies again, that's a good way for her to fake her death. The government is then off her back. That doesn't really fit with Chloe in a coma though.
It does seem though that Chloe somehow absorbs the effects she is healing someone from. Lois and Lex were both on the very edge of death, Chloe heals them and she seems to 'die'. Jimmy just had a cut finger, and the only side effect when Chloe healed him was that her finger seemed to hurt.
So maybe healing a coma = coma Chloe.
In a quick flash from the trailer you can see 'Kara', in mid air, kicking Clark outside the barn. I guess we do get Clark vs. Kara after all.
Is the Kariac stuff a spoiler? I didn't think so because it was in the official description, but an earlier poster in this thread didn't seem to know about it, so...

If it is Jor-El, it might be a tieback to when people were speculating of Chloe asking why she was "choosen this gift" in being able to bring people back from the dead.
Jor-El needs Chloe for something.

This is bugging me. If Lana is sending Clark a Dear John video telling him she's leaving, than what exactly is the purpose of needing her back for at least five episodes. What loose end can they tie up there with her charcter?
Nat0117
May 8, 2008 @ 10:54 pm
Hold the phone. I just watched the trailer again in slow-mo and the clip of Lois rushing into Clark's arms takes place in the Kent kitchen. When we see Clark from the other side all weepy and shit, the two of them are definitely in the barn. So I think the original hug from Lois is when she finds out about Lana. Later, Clark will return the favor when they discover/Clark breaks it to Lois what happened to Chloe. He'll put on a front for her, but once she's safely pressed past his face, the camera will reveal that he's losing his shit?

I'm thinking that the hug is after the call from the hospital telling Clark that Lana's condition is worsening that will explain why Clark is crying after all if Lana dies it will be his fault and Nois is more close to Clark so it will be normal for her to be sad and not crying. Now I ask where is Chloe on all this? Since she was the one that usually conforts Clark when something happens to Lana, or the world or the cows or the bugs anything that makes the BDA sad at the time.
Teen Titan
May 8, 2008 @ 11:18 pm
It just occurred to me. Maybe Lana's condition worsens, and the hopsital calls Chloe (I know, I know, but this is Smallville) or Chloe finds out about it.
When she gets to the hospital Lana is dying. Viola, you have her motivation for using her power.

Or maybe Brainiac simply attacks Chloe, leaving both Lana and Chloe incapacitated. Clark faces off with Brainiac, then both ladies wake up. Then at the end they throw in a cliffhanger and send Chloe to jail.

I think that may happen. Craig said before that with they revealing this(
Chloe going to jail) most of the drama would be lost. Probably because people will know she'll wake up.

I am completely and utterly stunned.
I'm sorry, but I wish we could've gotten a little heads up that this nutfuckery was coming, instead of the now inconsequential arrest spoiler. I've always been aware that something awful could happen to Chloe in her last days, but I didn't expect them to just slap on the same awful tragedy that JUST happened to Lana.
I slo-moed the trailer, but I couldn't tell that the second Clois hug shot was set in the barn. It was too dark for me to tell. I could see though, that Chloe opens her eyes, and that someone has a hand near her face. We better get at least some decent Chlark bonding before this b.s. happens. What really sucks is that now we're stuck with Clark either repeating all the angst he just expressed for Lana, or moving on from it way too quickly. Assuming, of course, that this is Chloe's last hurrah.
All that said, the Lex/Clark/FoS looks incredible. I'm not wild about Lex finally getting good stuff as he's set to leave the show, but hey, it's better than what Chloe/AM is getting.

At least this would finally be proof that Smallville is not a prequel to the Superman tale anymore. Chances are it will look like Lex is dead and then
Tess (or more likely some unidentified person wearing a helmet)will show up on a snowmobile and zoom his battered (but living and rather buff mind you) body off into the arctic.

There is a part of me that really does hope that Chloe heals Lana, thereby landing in a coma herself. Maybe that's what it would take, seeing his two girls in identical situations, for Clark finally to be able to know how he feels about each one. Of course, I would only wish this outcome if AM is to return.
Also, I realize that what I just described is Chlark fanfic and not SV: The Pink Adventures, so I have dinner plans for next Thursday night and will just catch up on the Clexy goodness online later.
MartaDolores
May 9, 2008 @ 2:18 am
It's funny that you bring that up, Soleil, because I too was wondering if this was going to be yet another Chloe/Lana parallel. All season they've been showing the differing ways they react to similar situations, so I wonder if this is the culmination of all that. Lana gets Brainiaced and ends up leaving Clark rather than suffer more. Chloe knows the pain of being Brainiaced, but sacrifices herself anyway for the greater good.
...Not that saving Lana is the greater good, but I guess I could see why Chloe would think it was a worthy cause, because Lana really does matter to Clark.

There is no way I want Chloe healing the Pink Squirrel! No way! I would rather have Chloe in jail than in a coma from healing her royal Pink Pincess! I really hope that AM returns because this would be the most horrible way to write her out! If Clark can spend months/weeks searching for Brainiac so he can heal Lana and then leave Chloe in a coma/excruciating pain for years to come, I will officially hate, no LOATHE Clark for all eternity.
