Oh lordy, this is about as accurate and entertaining as that - pick the wardobe, and... something else that had the fave songs, bands, books and whatever else picked for the female cast.
I have to agree. :\ I mean, some of the songs fit their characters, but I think that's just a coincidence. Most of them are pretty far off. Although, one of Clark's songs is "Do You Realize?" by The Flaming Lips, and the lyric I always remember from that song is:
Do you realize
That everyone you know
Someday will die
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes
Let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
Which is appropriate, because he outlives all of them. :(
Why do I have a feeling BlackPanda will have a field day with James Morrison's "Under the Influence" being on Clark's list?
Where do you see that,
PolarB? I can only see three songs for each character. There's a "View Complete Playlist" for each character, but it doesn't work for me. I thought you had to be a Sprint customer.

I notice that two of Lex's songs ("Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Renegade") are about guys who are facing the death penalty. "Lives in the Balance" is a very political song (left-leaning, as Jackson Browne always is) with the interesting lyric, "They sell us the president the same way/They sell us our clothes and our cars."
And "Circle in the Sand" is an odd choice for Chloe, considering it's ancient (I'm pretty sure I remember that one from college). It's a romantic ballad, and as a Chlarker, I like it: "Oh, baby, anywhere you go/We are bound together/I begin, baby, where you end/Some things are forever."

1988, but Lois had her Whitesnake.
Just for kicks here are all the lyrics for Circle in the Sand
Sundown all around
Walking thru the summers end
Waves crash baby, dont look back
I wont walk away again
Oh, baby, anywhere you go,
We are bound together
I begin, baby, where you end
Some things are forever !
Circle in the sand
round and round
Never ending love is what we've found
And you complete the heart of me
Our love is all we need
Circle in the sand
Cold wind, tide move in
Shiver in the salty air
Day breaks, my heart aches
I will wait for you right here.Oh, baby when you look for me
Can you see forever ?
I begin baby, where you end
We belong together
Circle in the sand
round and round
Rising of the moon as the sun goes down
And you complete the heart of me
Our love is all we need
Circle in the sand
Circle in the sand
Baby can you hear me ?
Can you hear me calling ?
Edited to point out Chloe's last line in Veritas. (It's close at least)

I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that I actually like Jimmy's playlist the best. But I can actually see him listening to those songs, which is not, as has been said, the case with Lex. It cracks me up to picture him listening to anything on the first half of his playlist.
I also feel I should note that Muse is also a band, and the song is "Starlight," and it's very good.
Oh, and a question: Does anyone know if they've been showing the "Descent" trailer throughout the week? I pretty much only watch the CW on Thursdays, and last Thursday they showed it at least 3 times in that 2-hour block, but I have no idea about other nights.

Squee!!! Chloe's got "Perfect Situation" by Weezer. I listened to that song on eternal loop when I first got it on my ipod. And "Portions for Foxes"? Awesome song. If anyone has not explored Rilo Kiley, then they haven't lived. I especially love "Glendora," all about a girl being a guy's wetnap (something I sometimes think could happen to Chloe in regards to Clark). Awesome song. Look it up.
Okay. Just had to say that.

I don't know if it's funny or sad for Kara, but her list shows the least amount of personality of the lot of them. Everyone else has at least something classic rock or some bits of hipness*. Hell, even Jimmy has Tom Waits and Lana has Buddy Holly. But Kara? She has two Fergie songs for God's sake.
Layla is an interesting choice for Chloe.
* To be fair she does have a White Stripes song.

Layla is an interesting choice for Chloe.
It's the ulimate unrequited love song. I'm just glad they didn't go with Taylor Swift or Bonnie Rait. At least Clapton is less obvious.
I think it's funny that "Can You Read My Mind" is on Chloe's list. Every time I hear that song I think of that stupid scene in the Superma movie where Lois is thinking, "Can you read my mind? Do you know what I'm thinking?" That's probably just me though, because I have seen that movie a billion times. I have no idea if the song actually makes sense as a Chloe song or not.
I always imagined that Jimmy would listen to annoying hipster stuff, and shouldn't Lex have some classical stuff on there? We know he listens to that.

and shouldn't Lex have some classical stuff on there? We know he listens to that.
I think part of the problem is that I doubt the list writers would be able to differentiate between classical pieces. God knows I can't and I actually listen to classical music more than most 25 year olds. (What can I say, it's good reading music, thank you XM 110.) Or they think Classical Music just isn't cool enough.
EDIT:
I have no idea if the song actually makes sense as a Chloe song or not.
Lyrics:
On the corner of main street
Just tryin' to keep it in line
You say you wanna move on and
You say I'm falling behind
Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?
I never really gave up on
Breakin' out of this two-star town
I got the green light
I got a little fight
I'm gonna turn this thing around
Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?
The good old days, the honest man;
The restless heart, the Promised Land
A subtle kiss that no one sees;
A broken wrist and a big trapeze
Oh well I don't mind, you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Before you go, can you read my mind?
It’s funny how you just break down
Waitin' on some sign
I pull up to the front of your driveway
With magic soakin' my spine
Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?
The teenage queen, the loaded gun;
The drop dead dream, the Chosen One
A southern drawl, a world unseen;
A city wall and a trampoline
Oh well I don't mind, you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Before you go
Tell me what you find when you read my mind
Slippin’ in my faith until I fall
You never returned that call
Woman, open the door, don't let it sting
I wanna breathe that fire again
She said
Oh well I don't mind, you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Put your back on me
Put your back on me
Put your back on me
The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun
When you read my mind

ETA: Maye that's it, Elly, even though Chloe's dreams have been pushed to the back burner, it doesn't mean she's given up on them. Except, I find it hard to believe that whoever put these lists together has any advance knowledge about what's going on on the show.
Oh, I did appreciate the fact that they put some country music on Clark's list, because that's the kind of music he would have grown up with in his home. Lois, OTOH, list doesn't ring true at all with what we actually know about her musical taste, aside from the Whitesnake. Where's the Metallica and Motley Crue?

This make perfect sense to me. She just started listening to earth music. She would start with current radio, then work her way back.
I started listening to music later in life than most people, and this is how I started. But I did and still avoid most pop though.

I think in some cases they just went for a title or artist that would be a cute or sly wink. Such as "Hey, Good Lookin'" for Clark.
I think they might have chosen "Your Song" for Clark because of the line "I can't tell if they're (ie. his eyes) green or they're blue".

Apparently, the CW is running a general station promoting commercial that shows footage of Clark flying with a woman in his arms. The person I spoke to who saw it said it might have been Lois, but they weren't sure. Just that she had dark hair. Anyone here who gets the station see this?

It's possible. My friend who saw it isn't sure, which his why I'm asking here, since we don't get the CW up here at all so I can't watch for it myself. They are airing another commercial where they use the Lana catch from Action, so they could very well be using all older footage. She did mention it looked more like he was actually carrying her in his arms, though, not holding her to his side like he did Lois in Crimson.

I only watch the CW on Thursdays, but I'll keep my eye out for it when flipping channels. I think it's likely to be old footage unless it's something that was cut from "Veritas." The trailer for "Descent" is made up of a lot of old footage as well.
DonnyMarie
Apr 13, 2008 @ 11:30 am
The first person who saw the "Clark flying with a dark haired woman" posted about it on the 31st of March. If this is a new scene it would have to be from either "Veritas", "Descent" or "Sleeper," because Apocalypse (I think) wasn't filmed until the second week of April. Even Sleeper wasn't filmed until April, and Erica isn't in Sleeper, so eliminate Sleeper from that. If this is Lois flying with Clark, then it would have to be a scene from "Descent" unless it was a scene removed from Veritas.
There wouldn't be time for it to have been from Apocalypse because they just got done filming it. Not to mention the episode before Apocalypse (Sleeper) doesn't have Erica in it.
If it was Lois flying with Clark, why isn't that spoiled? It's more news worthy than Chloe being engaged, and Lex as President. Or they could hint that Clark will fly. I'd think TPTB would want that moment hinted at or spoiled to gain interest.

Of course, Lex has a couture parka!

Hee! Yes, that waist is totally cinched. Also, I mock his perfectly matching boots. Mostly because I can only imagine that he gave some lowly minion a detailed list of specific coordinates to obtain. He's like Hunter Mountain Barbie or something.

It is indeed part of the very opening shot, with the warring cities, from Lara.
And even though the actor playing Zor-El pronounces it 'Kendar', I believe the city Kara and Zor-El are in is supposed to be Kandor. In Superman Lore Kandor was indeed miniturized and placed in a bottle (I think by Brainiac in the current continuity).
