Wow, that was quick. And awesome. Next week looks really, really good.
Tzigone
Looks good to me too. Must admit to not being happy to seeing what looks like Lex reveal the guy's a killer (and is he in the hospital again?) to Clark. I don't buy or like good!Lex. More evil!Lex!

Wish we could have seen Chloe when she called out "Clark" (I didn't see it, but it was so quick . . .). Also, it looks to me like Chloe's skin might actually get cut? Seems unusual, but it kind of looked like that. Need to watch in slow-mo. If so, then I'm curious to see if her healing is any different now, since her powers have manifested.
scout1279
YAY! Dean Cain! At least I know that he still looks really good, so whatever the quality of the episode is, there's still that.
atem
I like that Lex is trying to help Chloe.

What's with Chloe and bondage tables? I've never seen one where someone had to wear a leather collar before. Dirty, dirty girl.

I like that Lex is trying to help Chloe.
See, I hate it. I don't buy good Lex (haven't since season 3) and so I don't enjoy seeing it. And I sure don't want my heroes indebted to him. I like Chloe as his enemy - and I don't want him helping his enemies (at least not without an ulterior motive).

Does anyone know what the red line on the chart of Chloe's is? I can't read the writing. Looks like it might start with an "F" - it's up at 70 at the start of the chart, then plummets to like 5 or so. I know the title says "Particulate count" but there are red and yellow lines. Wouldn't mind knowing what the yellow one is (maybe "background" something?), either, but since it's fairly steady straight through, it's less intriguing to me.

Hee, I know. Why does she need to wear a collar to be held down? Also, she's showing off her bra an awful lot lately. ;)

I like that Lex is trying to help Chloe.

I'm all for Lex being bad-ass and "I don't care" about everyone, and I'm not even sure he knows Chloe is with Knox, but this bit warmed me. Gave me "Thirst" vibes - he's looking out for her, whatever the reason might be.

Also, it looks to me like Chloe's skin might actually get cut? Seems unusual, but it kind of looked like that.

She screamed, so I'm thinking she does get cut. That sequence seems like the standard "knock Bad Guy out at last minute, try and free Chloe, get affected by Kryptonite, maybe get thrown around the room" sequence of events. Still, axe fight. Cool!
savingpeople
is he in the hospital again?

I was wondering about Lex being in the hospital because knowing that Knox deals with meteor freaks, I was thinking, "what if Knox knows that Lex is meteor-infected and did something to him?".
Probably not, though, because I think Knox is supposed to be working for him.

I'm guessing Lex gets in a fight with somebody and loses, which isn't all that surprising to me should that be the case.

Dean Cain! At least I know that he still looks really good, so whatever the quality of the episode is, there's still that.

That and...

axe fight

I really just don't see how "Cure" could be bad:
- Chloe-centric!
- Dean Cain!
- Superman vs. Superman!
- Clark rescuing somebody!
- Looks like great acting!

I have high hopes for this one to be good :)

Why is Smallville using the final battle theme from last episode of BtVS to promote Supergirl. My distaste for this show has hit a new low.

TV shows and movies reuse music all the time. I doubt it was intentional for them to use something specifically from Buffy, it just probably fit the mood of the spot that they were looking for.

Smallville: "Action" Trailer.

This looks interesting. The promo pics look really good too. Anyone know if that red fabric he is holding is the baby blanket from the mythos?

I believe it's a gift from the movie director, Warrior Angel's red cape.
drjeangrey
Am I the only one who hates all the pessimistic Chloe bashing this show does? Is she just a tiny punching bag or what? I hope they give her something, nice before they either kill her off or write her away. What does everyone theorize will happen to the Chloster?
clooless
Some interesting things I noted from K-site's "Action" promo screencaps:

The Warrior Angel logo on the camera man's cap looks an awful lot like Wonder Woman's, no?

Does this remind anyone else of this?

Hee, did AM magically grow, like, 5 inches taller overnight?

Also, why does this guy seem so familiar? Where have I seen him before? *scratches head*

ETA: Longer version of the "Action" trailer.
Chlarkolate
See I don't yet see it as punching bag Chloe this season. (Season 2 - 4, yes). I like that they are drawing parallels between Clark and Chloe and I speculate/hope for this to be further explored in Season 7. I like that now Chloe is the one with a big secret that needs to be protected, it is affecting her relationships, and Clark is the secret keeper. He will get to know what it is like to cover for someone (other than himself) and keep it from loved ones. Cure saw him trying to dance around the issue in front of Lana, Jimmy and Lex. For Chloe, now she knows what it's like to have a newsworthy secret (her previous secret about genetic insanity must pale in comparison now) that could put her in jeopardy, as well as worrying about the nature and full extent of her power(s). The shoes on are on the other feet now. I know that Clark and Chloe have been open and supportive of each other for awhile, but, I believe, even when someone is very empathatic it's impossible to fully understand what someone else is going through unless you have been through it yourself. I think these parallels between Clark and Chloe may bring them to an even better understanding of each other and a closeness that no one can rival. I'm hoping that it will eventually lead to a romantic Chlark but if it doesn't I can live with it as long as it shows that Chlark are the true soulmates on the show. I know I (and probably others) were concerned that now that Clark has told Lana his secret, he won't need Chloe the same way and Chloe will become less relevant. But now with the parallels that are being drawn between Chlark, I see the Chlark intimacy still being significantly deeper than the Clana intimacy. Plus, the show is currently hitting us over the head that Clark is practically immortal (at least he will have super longevity), and now Chloe has come back from death so, although she is terrified she could die suddenly, she may also have a kind of immortality too. This could create more intimacy between the two. Personally, I hope this is something that will be explored more in Season 7. I think there is more to come because at the end of Cure, Chloe's problems haven't gone away and there was no big talk between Clark and Chloe post-save from Dr. Knox.

Still no one asoff yet is going thru trying to hide an ability that literally kills them with each display of it. Clark may go into a fight with the chance of being killed but Chloe has no other experience walking away using her's and not finding herself 'dead'.

This is true, and Clark may not be able to fully understand Chloe's particular "power". But while the details may vary, at least they are getting a taste of some aspects of each others lives.
For example, I could see a future conversation like this:

Clark: So you couldn't tell Jimmy about your meteor infection, huh?

Chloe: You know, I always thought that if you loved Lana so much you should take a leap of faith and tell her your secret. Now I see that's not so easy. When you told me that you were from Krypton I thought "Well you could have told me sooner, but I can see why it would be difficult to trust anyone with a secret that huge." How magnanimous of me?! I can't believe I was so naive as to think I knew even half of what you felt growing up as an alien; how it feels to have your life and safety threatened because you're different and to even think about sharing your differences with others. I'm sorry Clark if I ever made you think that I felt you owed me an explanation for anything.

Clark: I'm glad I finally told you. I don't know what I do if I couldn't confide in you. But I'm sorry too.

Chloe: For what?

Clark: I never truly realized how difficult it must be to keep my secret for me. I've realized that you've had to tread carefully around the people you care about the most and for someone who believes in the truth above all else that must be really difficult. Thank you Chloe.
megan
Yeah, that would be a nice scenario if they ever throw one in later.

Didnt Chloe find out on accident, with the car and the wrecking with Alicia? When did he actually "tell" Chloe?
Firebunny
Chloe found out that Clark had powers when she saw him catch the car, but she didn't know he was an alien until he told her in Arrival.
Teen Titan
Which is quite possibly the most awesome scene this show has ever produced.

Smallville: "Action" Trailer.

Huh, I was hoping for a bit more of a feel for the episode from the trailer. It's a meta episode using the "show within a show" gimmic.

On one end of the spectrum, we have The Spider Webb, which is one of the best pieces of television ever made, despite it's flaws, and were it any better touching the DVD could cure cancer and cause harmony in the Middle East.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have Yes Virginia, there is a Hercules, an episode that is an exercise is a ridiculous amount of creative-masterbation by the showrunners. It makes children cry, and once aliens run across the broadcast in the depths of space, seeing it is all the justification they need for blowing up Earth with the Death Star.

There's also Wormhole X-Treme, which is between the two (though much much close to Hercules). I suspect Action! will fall between Wormhole and Hercules.

And for the curious, here's an incomplete list of fake TV shows compiled by wikipedia

Yes. Send in a video blog or something about the show and you can win a trip to the set.

It's so you can put up video blogs on the show. I've always wondered what it would be like to share my thoughts on smallville with the entire internet. Well... you know what I mean.

Thank you, JerseyGrl!
Ditto.

I know there's a concern (just based on the radio ad) that there was some clever editing with the dialogue that made Lex's statements about Lana losing Clark appear to be connected to Lana's statement, but were maybe from different scenes. The trailer should put that fear to rest. Sometimes, there's some clever editing in these promo spots. Clearly it's all being said in the same scene. So, my fears atleast have been put to rest.

That has got to be the most Chlois-ey trailer I have ever seen. Your opinion may vary. How long has the CW site had the AM site visit with the scene from Action up? It's a little meta considering their vlogger competition.

How so, BP?
Black Panda
How so, BP?

Are you asking about the the site visit or the trailer?

The site visit has AM at the planet with the planet logo everywhere. They talk about and show a scene from Action where the blogger could expose Clark's secret to millions. Meanwhile, they are pushing their vlogger competition.

The trailer has Chloe in it, which is unusual enough ; ) Second, "Bring down Lex Luthor or Chloe dies." It's just the Lois holds Chloe's fate in her hands symbolism. She gets her killed, or gets Chloe's dream. I'm sort of surprised it got such prominence.

I don't know if it's Chloisy, really, but I do like that Chloe gets trailer time.

Did you see Clark's head-turn? Wonder if Chloe's activating the super-hearing again? That would be very Chloisy.

Ok, I'm afraid I did't know about the vlogger competition is, which is why I didn't quite get what you were explaining.

I like this, this I'm taking to the Chlois thread.

I did't know about the vlogger competition is

You send a 2 minute video of yourself video blogging about the show. If you win, you get access to storylines a head of time, and presumably get to vlog. So you could exposing Clark's secret (yawn). I'm pretty sure the audience is caught up. But Smallville has other secrets... I'm looking at you, Lana and Chloe.
RepairmanBob
That promo was... less than impressive, IMO. Lois once seems to pull a 180, and change from Comic Relief Girl back to Lois, Lois Lane The General's Daughter. There is minimal Clark or Lex. And the sucking black hole of anti-chemistry that is Chimmy, trapped together in an elevator, is a much greater threat to everyone at the Daily Planet than any bomb.

Any chance we could convince Omar to submit his Lois rant from Blue? I sure found it impressive.
aqgalaxy
Interesting facts about the trailer... every Lex shot and the one with Lexois showdown with the gun, was in Grant's office.

Also... there is that scene with Clark superspeeding through what appears to be the DP's cafe and it got me wondering, if there is a bomb in the Elevator, wouldn't they evacuate the Daily Planet?
EllyF

My guess would be that the guy tells EDLois not to go to the police, or he'll set the bomb off. Maybe no one knows about the bomb except her. I got the impression that Clark was at the DP's holiday party, presumably as Chloe's guest.
JerseyGrl
Anyone else notice there are reindeer attached to the Planet globe?
Massena1
I got the impression that Clark was at the DP's holiday party, presumably as Chloe's guest.

I'd say that is very unlikely. I would guess Clark shows up at the DP because of the crisis and what we see is Clark's superhearing being activated in the midst of the noisy party which prevented the partygoers from hearing Chimmy yelling for help in the elevator.
clooless
Yeah, I think Clark's in the DP to help too. Maybe Lois called him? I don't know, but I don't think he's there to party.

Also? I kinda love how both the SV and SPN promos start off with Christmas-y songs and then progress to tense music halfway through. Pretty cool. I liked the last Christmas episode we got, so here's hoping for another good one.

ETA: Does "There's a bomb on your cousin" mean Chloe's carrying it around with her or something? 'Cuz she's still standing right behind Lois when she (Lois) gets the phone call, so why does Chloe get stuck in a lift before she finds out about the bomb?
gobatara
Remember Chloe calls Clark by her cell phone and Jimmy wonders why that's why he is there probably

Gabtica25 pointed out there were screen caps of the trailer on KSite (go to the News section). If you look, it seems like the bomb may be in a package Chloe was carrying. Maybe a gift package. You can see it on the floor behind Chloe and Jimmy as they beat on the elevator door.

Good point. I'd forgotten about that.

I noticed that too. I was just wondering that if the bomb's in something she's carrying around, and Lois gets the call while she's still in the viscinity, why does Chloe find out about the bomb only after she gets in the elevator? Oh well, I'm sure there's an explanation in the episode. Er, or not.

Also? Is Lois left-handed? Have we ever seen what hand she uses to write?
gobatara

On "Phantom" she is writing with her left hand on the scene Chloe tells her not going after the Luthors

Not does she not tell her cousin, notice the shots of her at the begining of the the trailer to the end, where she's holding a gun at Lex, her clothes and Hair are different meaning she changed while Chloe was in the Elevator.
Chlarkolate
What I'm interested in about this episode is who is setting all this up? Who wants Lex exposed, Lois to be the one to do it, and doesn't care if Chloe dies? (If you know the answer please don't spoil me, I'm just speculating.) Could it be Grant? A survivor from his clone army? Lana?
I'll admit it, I'm intrigued by this trailer. I'm looking forward to the epi but when does it air?
