Wow, can't wait til they add the Wonder Twins...NOT! Are they seriously trying to kill JL with all these 'unknown' heros?! I'm gonna stopped looking at spoilers for JL S3 or should I say JLU.
Sheesh, even the name bugs me!

The name doesn't really matter, when extended play became x-play it actually got better. And we're getting Zatanna! I thought she was awesome ever since I saw her appearance in Batman the animated series.

Well they are only unknown if you don't read the comics. As a regular reader of Marvel and DC comics, I find the fanboy inside of me is gleefully awaiting the appearances of long-time DC stalwarts like Shinning Knight, the Atom, and Dr. Fate.
I know it might seem confusing and off-putting at first, but give them a chance. They are great characters. I just hope the writers can do them justice. (Pun intended)

Cool. Not only is Paul Dini writing another episode, but they're adapting "For the Man Who Has Everything", the story by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) that's generally regarded as one of the best Superman stories ever.

I've never been a huge DC fan, most of my exposure to DC characters comes from the animated universe rather than the comics. But I'm looking forward to seeing some new characters show up for an episode or two, provided that Flash remains a regular on the series.

Oh, me too. The name Zatanna only rings a bell for me because of her appearance in Batman: TAS, but I like seeing characters from the comics pop up on JL. Especially with fellow posters like you guys to explain who they are... :-)

Like some of the other posters, I haven't had that much exposure to DC comics (all that Earth-One, Earth-Two stuff put me off a little), being mostly into Marvel, so apart from the JL series, I don't know much about some of the characters.
Are the JL in the cartoon pretty much portrayed as being similar in character to the way they are in the comics? 'Cause Superman in JL the series comes across a bit of an arrogant prick to me, and reading the JLA/Avengers cross-over mini-series recently, he seemed to be even more of one in that (seeing Iron Man, She-Hulk, Wonder Man, the Vision and Hercules gang up on him and beat the crap out of him, it was all I could do not to start cheering), so has he always been like that? 'Cause that's a little disappointing if he has been.
Wonder Woman's characterisation seems pretty spot-on across the board to me. In the show, I love how in the Morgan Le Fay story WW's all ‘I never run away from a fight!’ and seemed to be the same in that mini-series, cleaning Hercules' clock and volunteering to take on all-comers so the others could get to the villain's stronghold.
I agree with the earlier posters who've said they wish Kyle was the Green Lantern in the show - he's cute! It's a measure of my lack of DC knowledge that until recently I had no idea there was more than one Green Lantern.

The Elongated Man has long been part of the JL history in the comics. A lot longer than Plastic Man. They both have rubbery powers but EM is less crazy. I like Jeremy Piven doing with the voice. I was a fan of his show Cupid on ABC until it got canceled.

Yes, it makes no sense. However, they've apparently renovated the air conditioning at CN HQ to keep the pot clouds from the Adult Swim office from being vented into the scheduling department:

Excellent news! I like the Elongated Man a lot -- way more than Plastic Man, actually, which I think puts me in some kind of sad minority -- and I like Piven even more. I hope they put him in one of his purple outfits instead of that nasty red-and-black Plastic Man knockoff.
Kaboom, you had me worried there for a minute that they were actually going to call him "The Elongator." (Sounds like a nickname for Enzyte.) What I like about the Elongated Man is that he is an amiable, red-haired goofball who is also a whip-smart detective. His nose twitches whenever he senses a mystery or a clue. If he needs to listen in on some suspects, he'll just stretch an ear down a chimney or something. He revealed his "secret identity" to the world not long after his public debut, and he doesn't wear a mask. He has a smart, gorgeous wife who solves mysteries with him, like in "Hart to Hart" or the
Thin Man films. He's just a great character.

Which I think was pretty groundbreaking for DC at that time. A married hero, who doesn't bother with a secret identity? I think he was the only married one besides Hawkman and Hawkgirl. He stayed through any number of incarnations of the Justice League, up until Crisis. Sadly, he seems to have been mostly forgotten after that.

Forgotten after Crisis? No way! Ralph (and Sue) was a very prominent member during the JL/JLI/JLE era. They both showed up in the recent "Formerly Known as the Justice League" mini-series and will likely be in the next one (the title of which I am blanking on at the moment) also. (Though there was some rather uncomfortable stuff going on between Sue and Maxwell Lord, I thought. Not an outright affair or anything, but enough to kinda squick me out.)
And jolly_roger, I dug Elongated Man a lot more than Plastic Man, too. Though I also have a great fondness for Jimmy Olsen in his Elastic Lad days.

Justice League has gone through so many line changes since Crisis I gave up on following them all. Glad to hear he's still around.

I actually liked Plastic Man a bit more and hoped they'd use him in JL...but no complaints, Ralph kicks some serious ass. And the "Thin Man" comparison works very well. The Harts just got on my nerves after a while.
The use of Zatara is interesting, as she's one of the few characters who crossed between the "DC" and "Vertigo" comic imprints with any regularity. I wonder if her obvious attraction to Batman will factor into the equation?

The asshats. One of the most enjoyable things about the series is that the stories are so well-rounded and
looong. Yes, cartoons can be longer than thirty minutes. It was like watching a mini-movie on Sat. night.

That? Rocked!
And man, was it ever violent. Hawkgirl being held up by the hair? Yikes! Now I'm really, really hoping they didn't make JLU less adult.
Great oneliners too:
Supes: "Let's use our inside voice."
Bats: "That's. Not. Helping."
GL: "Anything I took was freely offered. Maybe you shoulda took better care of your stuff." "That all you got? My grandmother hits harder than that."
And those are the ones I can think of.
It was nice to see that Flash and GL were such kickass fighters without super strength.

Wonderful finale! It really had a "movie" feel to it. Storywise, it was better than the last 3 Batman films and last 2 Superman films put together!
I'm now more convinced than ever that Warner Bros should spend big bucks on animated superhero films instead of dishing out more live-action crap. (like the upcoming Catwoman. Good god those previews look abysmal)
My favorite moments were...
Batman figuring things out (again) by examining the alien corpse.
Tense moments between John and Shayera. Those scenes were done very realistically, and played very well.
Flash blowing a big ass hole into Wayne Manor. "I wonder what this button does.." *click* KA-BOOOM!!! "...That's NOT helping!"
Everyone revealing their identities. Normally, Batman would be extremely reluctant to do that. The fact that he did it so quickly demonstrated how dire the situation they were in, plus it showed how much he has grown to trust the other teammates.
The fight between Green Lantern and Big-Buff-Hawkguy. Great scene. Felt really intense.
Superman saving Batman's toasted ass. Great scene, and I loved the little exchange afterwards.
And finally, John and Shayera saying their farewells. Very touching scene. Normally in these types of shows, everybody would have a big group hug and let bygones be bygones. But here, the writers treated it more realistically. Not everyone was ready to forgive Shayera and welcome her coming back. There was still some bitterness about her betrayal.
I like how we never saw how everyone voted. Especially John. I feel that was intentional, and will set things up later for some future stories.
All and all, this season of JL was ten times better than the first. I just hope the new version will be as good.

I didn't know there was a thread for this.
Bats: "That's. Not. Helping."
I saw that in the previews but when they actually showed it, it made sense and was more enjoyable since I knew Flash was destroying the mansion when he pressed the button.
I thought for sure GL was going to lose his hand when he brought the axe down but it was only the ring that got chopped. I guess one character getting his hand chopped off was enough.
This is going to sound wierd but when the guard brought WW her food and they started talking, did she look kind of sexy? Okay, forget I said that.

I can't vouch for the sexiness, but there was a pretty blatant crotch shot when the guard dropped the food in front of her.
Could you imagine the cat fights between HG and WW if she decided to stay?

I loved that Bats yanked Flash's and his masks off. Speaking of their identities, I have just one major nit about this episode: How did HG know that Bats was Bruce Wayne? She knew exactly where to find them. Was that a result of her "research" and spying? But Bats is a master detective in his own right and has spent years protecting his identity. I don't think it would be so easy for HG to figure that out without him knowing or at least being suspicious of her.
I also loved seeing all of the repossesed weapons being used during the fight in the bat cave, and Bats ("Wait for it.") using the bats as weapons was also priceless.

Wow. That kicked major ass!
(Yes, another show I've never commented on.)
I had no idea that this was the finale until they had the commercial for the new series after Hawk Girl left.
I wish I had taped it so I could comment on it in more detail...oh well. The important thing is that I saw it. At first, I thought it was just another "special" that I could do without. How wrong I was:
-The "unmaskings." Considering that I had no idea that this was the finale, I was totally taken back. Well, by Hawk Girl and the Flash, anyway.
-Alfred. Dude, you rock. You get knocked out, and the next thing we know, you're up and about, sweeping glass in the manor. Now I know why I've always liked butlers.
-Diana's line to Hawk Girl: "I should leave you here to burn" (was that it?) That almost gave me chills. Not quite. But it was coming.
-The whole idea of Hawk Girl being a spy. I've never read the comics, so I don't know if this was ever brought up at all, but that definitely surprised me. My attitude toward her kept shifting back and forth throughout the entire movie...Oh my god. I just said movie. Wow. It was that good, wasn't it?
-Hawk Girl's departure. I wasn't sure at first, but when Alfred started talking about how she would always be a hero, I was sure she'd be gone. What I didn't expect was that she would be the one to decide. How delicious that was.
In conclusion, bye Bye, Spy/Hawk Girl. I don't know if it was just me, but Hawk Girl always seemed to be the one with the least amount of personality and the least amount of dialogue. (Maybe I didn't watch enough episodes.) Well, after tonight's episode, it all made sense. Poor girl. And that face? Wow. I was expecting it to be older looking, to say the least. It was so fresh! Too bad we won't see it again...(well, we might...but based on those last lines, probably not.) Good luck, Hawk Girl. Good bye, old Justice League. Hello, new Justice League.

Okay, I'm a big geek. I cried throughout the last ten minutes. Scratch that, I started tearing up the second Bats pushed Flash and MM into the escape pod. I was sooo glad when Superman saved him. I take back the Boyscout comments (Most of them).
While I liked the touched of not getting to hear what the vote was, a small part of me wants to know if Hawk Girl was voted off the island. My sister and I tried to figure out how the votes might've gone down. We figured Wonder Woman and Superman would vote for her to go, GL and Flash would vote for her to stay and that Batman and MM's votes were up in the air.
Alfred was so pimp. I can't decide if he's a cooler butler than Norman from Big O.
All in all, it was a fantastic episode. I glad that I have it on tape so that I can watch it over and over. I just really wish that Hawk Girl could've heard GL confess his love. I know this ending was for the best, but that's the sap in me talking.

It was also nice to see Superman use his freeze breath for once. It would of also been cool if they had led us to believe that Batman actually died in the crash.
Anyone got any info on when the new series, Justice League: Unlimited, will begin to air on CN in the US?? The preview had Green Arrow and Super Girl and what looked like a very gay GL with long hair.
