I have a hard time believing that 'Rock the mythos' is anything other then KrisTom fans wanting to see Clana 'bang' (as they like to put it) in more then one medium. Clana in the comics might have been better portrayed then Clana on SV but ComicLana has already tried and failed to come between Clois. Lois Lane isn't going anywhere and I simply don't think they can accept that. Of course they are entitled to campaign for what they want but if they're hoping for success they're going to be mighty dissppointed in my opinion IMO.

Durq, presuming you are serious, Madden '08 is just the latest incarnation of the Playstation football game that bear's Maddens name. It has superior graphics, excellent "realism", and each year (hence the '08) is updated with players and games. John Madden is the voice announcer for the plays. I would have to say it's a brilliant strategy by the manufacturers that they have a built-in annual upgrade. NCAA football (current colleges) is in the same Playstation vein but "Madden" is huge .... big media buzz for the annual release huge. Go figure
Uh..... ....

No its not that..
Its just.. I've um, never heard a female talk that way about a football video game. Ever. It was surreal. Its like- 25 years worth of perception was suddenly shattered in that one single moment. Maybe I've just experienced one of those epiphanies that changes one's life forever.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that Operation: Save Clark Kent is underway with sending letters. The first one is just an announcement of who we are and what our general concern is, and that's this week. Next week will be outlining our dislike of and concern for clana and what it does to Clark. The week after, I think, will be the Lex letters, and I am a little concerned about those, as most of the members seem to be far more concerned with what TPTB are doing to Clark than Lex. That's probably because a huge chunk of the members are general Superman fans more than SV fans.
I know that the spoilers are leaving ME depressed, at least...
The link is a few pages back, I believe.

I'm OK with the top pick but the number 2 pick? Wow. And some of the other choices are interesting as well.

Wow. I think that's the first time I've seen "X-Ray" make it to a "Top 10" list. I don't completely agree with the other choices (where's the love for "Shattered" and "Memoria", yo?), but I can understand them being popular enough to make it to the list.
Hmm, maybe we can do our own Top 10 lists in the All Seasons thread? :) (Or should we be optimistic enough to wait for "Gemini" to air?)

I always like to read various SV top 10 lists. There is so much diversity, and polarization of opinions in this fandom, that it seems like each list is unique.

Hmm. Some of those, like "Crusade", wouldn't ever make my top 10. Others, such as "Reckoning" and "Arrival", I do consider good, but I'm not sure it's "top 10" material. My main "WTF?" is X-Ray third. I like it, but third?

I think that'd be pretty cool.

What amazed me was in the discussion about Arrival, no mention at all about Chloe revealing to Clark that she knows his secret or Clark telling her he's an alien, which was pivotal. In fact, Chloe is only mentioned in the pilot description as a throwaway. Seemed pretty biased to me.

Wouldn't each individuals top 10 list be biased according to their likes and dislikes? I mean, thats sort of what makes them unique and fun, the fact that each person is going to come up with a list that appeals to their favorite aspects and characters.

As a Chlarker, that stuck out to me, too. That was one of the major points of the episode, that Clark finds out that Chloe knows part of his secret, and tells her the rest.
Wouldn't each individuals top 10 list be biased according to their likes and dislikes?
Sure. Still, I think if one's recapping what's noteworthy about the episode, they ought to mention major plot points. I'd like to think I'd mention the arrival of EDLois in "Crusade," even though I'm not fond of the character:-).
My main "WTF?" is X-Ray third. I like it, but third?
I agree, I wouldn't put it that high. I'm in the middle of rewatching it, though, and I am surprised by how much I like it. It's a surprisingly good one (although like the compiler of the list, I could do without every freak of the week falling for Lana, sheesh).

Arrival was one of the most significant episodes of the series, and I can't imagine why it wouldn't make an all-time best ep list. From a Chloiser perspective, this was a huge episode. Chloe was the first human to enter the Fortress. She was able to activate Clark's hearing from as little as a hushed whisper, and it broke Clark's attention from training with Jor-El. She used the well known Supes phrases.."faster than a speeding bullet"..."
SUPER Clark"..etc. Add to that the fact that she revealed she was aware of Clark's abilities and him telling her his alien origin. This was a really big episode.

Reckoning, Nicodemus and X-Ray wouldnt even sniff my top 10, but the rest all would be in there. I don't think i'd put the Pilot at #1, but it would be in the top 5.

Nicodemus is the episode that makes this list a joke. The only reason that's even in there is because of the clana, same as Reckoning. But, Reckoning I can understand.

I agree, I can't see any reason for Nicodemus to be in the top ten, personally. It's just not that good, IMHO. I liked "Reckoning" all right, but wouldn't rank it among my personal top ten. But I think in a list of The Ten Most Important Episodes of Smallville, it would have to rank pretty close to the top.

Would it be blasphemy to say that I actually liked "Reckoning"? Enough that I'd be able to make place for it among my Top 10? I don't know. Despite the Clana, despite the stupid ass way Bo had to go, despite everything that was fundamentally wrong about the episode, I liked the concept. You know, sort of like "Promise", except the content of that one was so crappy it masked everything else. "Reckoning" was based on a really cool idea, and one I think was executed really well.
clooless, I think that sounds like a great idea :) Why wait?
Well, "Gemini" seems to have all this hype surrounding it now, so I was wondering if we should give that one a chance before we all sort out our Top 10. But yeah, I'm fine with doing one now as well. I'm currently in exam-mode, but I should be done tomorrow, so I'll try and come up with a list for the All Seasons thread soon! :)

Ah! Here is my beautifully BIASED top ten!
1. Transference- Because who doesn't want to see shirtless Tom Welling checking himself out, and that Chlark (okay Chlionel) scene had some amazing heat.
2. Delete- For the hilarious Chlana fight, and because I started watching the series Season 6- So this ep is first time Chlois popped in my head.
3. Rush.- Just a plain hilarious episode. And great Chlarkete friendship !!!
4. Blank- Because it was funny to see Chloe use the situation to satisfy her curiousity about Clark, but at the same time showed their growth in friendship to the point Chloe would never betray Clark, and if he'd only trusted her to begin with they could have been bffF a long time ago.
5. Lexmas- because!
6. Tempest- because its too cute.
7. Devoted- because its just HILARIOUS
8. Progeny
9. Freak
10. Fever- the letter scene saved it.
And where can I put Bound! And Arrival! And Thirst! And Labyrinth! And....yeah, I like Reckoning too...I have too many favs I guess.

Dec 6, 2007 @ 2:57 am
Hmmm. I'm going by moments or images that have stuck in my head for whatever reason:
10. Hourglass - while I could live without a lot of it, this ep gets points for the Lex future vision. It was just too cool, him in his ice cream suit, all sweet-faced and evil
9. Perry - McKean!!!
8. Rush - for bad-ass Chloe and all that making out. Whee!
7. Bound - sexy ass lex, memorable Chlark elevator moment. This was just a sexy-ass episode.
6. Lexmas - I just got a kick out of seeing smiley, huggable Lex
5. Pariah - Chloe finds out. Awesome.
4. Transference - both Glover and Welling had awesome turns in this episode
3. Covenant - best ending ever, between the poisoning, the shaving and the explosions (Lana's inexplicable, never-before-seen artistic talent aside.... At leats she kind of left). I miss Evil!Lionel
2. Exile - I don't know. It was a rip-roaring good time and the first time we saw Metropolis (why the heck can't they find more reasons to have Maggie Sawyer back?)
1. Rosetta - just for general coolness and the use of the Superman theme and Reeves (how the heck could any list not include this?)
ETA: Looked over that site and some of the "articles" and reviews and... yeah. Total Clanaphiles and Chloe-haters... Well, it's not so much hate as disregard. Like, if she's in an episode they review, they ignore all parts she was involved in. Unfortunately, Chlarkophiles can't do that with Lana -- way too much of her to ignore.

Does anyone have a link to a good SV transcript site?
There's
TWIZ, which has good transcripts up to about halfway through S5 and
MegaSite which has transcripts for all seasons, but not every episode for earlier ones. It does have them for the second half of S5-S7, though, so if you combine the two, you should be able to get just about any episode you want. MegaSite's transcripts for very recent episodes aren't great quality, though - the formatting is way off on some of them. Oh, also beware of pop-ups for both sites.
