She and her new boyfriend went along with some friends to a resort in Jamaica. For her own homophobic reasons, she made a point of saying no same sex couple were allowed at the resort.

myOBSESSION, where did that blurb come from? If that is true, then Star truly is a repulsive human being. I always thought that behind the Payless piddling and loud, obnoxious, indignant Star that we saw on the show, there had to be something that was somewhat redeeming about her because no one person can be THAT terrible. But if that is true, then I was wrong all along.

I didn't understand why she had mentioned that. It came out of nowhere. Star is an ass. Did you guys notice the stunned silence when their guest, Tom Bershenak(sp) said he and his wife had spent new year on the campain trail with Gen. Clarke? I thought the majority of these ladies were Democrats. I guess they don't like Clarke or something. It was just weird. Those ladies sure do know how to make some akward moments.

Heee! I was so thinking the same thing.

I wanted to e-mail Star and tell her how much she has cemented my hate for her. But then I started to imagine the outrageous response I might get back from her and I just can't stand to get homicidal. Bitch really does read all those e-mails and respond to a lot of them. I guess she thinks it will vastly improve the public's perception of her if they feel she is accessible. Only she's not that famous in the first place and we all know she has nothing better to do than stay at home anyway, so it doesn't really do anything for her. HATE! HER!

I love when Star showed a picture of Al wearing his David Guest sunglasses with a puffy shirt opened to the navel. Joy slipped in what seemed a sly remark. "My he looks like Harry Belafonte...Dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy-ooooo! Which sounded alot like Gayyyyyyyyyyyyooooo. Even Elizabeth cracked up and seemed to laugh hard on the double entendre.

The ABC rep is missing the point. Although Star and Big Gay Al may not have stayed at that particular resort, when Star spoke about it the strong implication was that she felt that the fact that the resort catered only to "traditional couples" was a huge selling point. It was mentioned in the context of The resort was so exculsive, they only allow traditional couples! And then she giggled that nauseating giggle she's been giggling ever since the BF arrived on the scene.

How long before Star insists on a separate drinking fountain for Barbara's hairdresser?

Star was probably hoping Elisabeth would run with the "no same-sex couples" issue and say something controversial. She had been talking about taking a boat to the beach when she threw in that incedental comment about all of the couples being "traditional". Al reminds me of Al B. Sure, if anyone recalls late 80s R&B stars.

I thought Star had said that her girlfriends wouldn't let her go (those are some good friends) and just the boys went. They she got sidetracked talking about something else. Which pissed me off because I wanted to find out why the guys could go and Star would just sit there with the other ladies and let her man go see a bunch of naked people. It just seemed like something Star would get all out of breath about.

I hate it when the biddies discuss current legal cases because they always defer to Star as if she's the end-all and be-all of judicial discourse. She hasn't been in a courtroom in ten freakin' years and she needs to just shut it.

Which I guess isn't any different than her usual need to just shut it, but somehow it bugs me more.

Didn't anyone think it was weird that it just seemed like Star and Al just started dating and they're taking a vacation away together so soon? Anyways, before Al's identity was a big secret by only showing his back in a picture and now she's showing pictures of him all the time. I know as one of those hippie, pinko-commie secular liberals, I SHOULD hate Elisabeth for her conservative viewpoints, but since I know that, being the "young babe" this show won't take her or her perky chipmunk voice of self-righteousness seriously, it's hard to get too worked up over her.

That being said, I found the follow exchange between our spunky Republican and Bill Maher amusing:

Bill: There is a war on sex in this country
Elisabeth: As it should be.

Because sex is a destructive evil after all, like drugs or terror. And like the latter, I'm sure we'll win that war too.

It's sorta sad. Lis is so young, yet she has already set her role as "uptight, overreaching PTA mom", taking over the role from the dearly departed Maude Flanders. You know it'll be a matter of time before she offers the counterpoint, "Oh won't someone please think of the children!"

She already has used that counterpoint! During her audition when they were discussing gay marriage, she piped in with how she is against it because she is a good Christian woman who struggles with this gay issue every single day and won't somebody please think how gay marriage would affect the children.

Honestly, I can't fault Elisabeth too much for this one, since the rest of the biddies were already up in arms about the story that started the discussion -- the father who allowed his 13-year-old daughter have sex with her boyfriend in the house. "And he even gave her condoms!"

It pains me to say this, but I agree with Bill Maher. I don't have kids, but I think if the daughter was determined to have sex -- or, more likely, had told her father she'd already been having sex -- then he did the right thing by allowing her boyfriend to stay at the house and by giving her condoms. It's not like she's either going to stop having sex or stop seeing her boyfriend just because he puts his foot down.

Many states allow kids to get married with parental consent at age 14, anyway.

Of course, the father was an idiot for abandoning his reasoning and turning the boyfriend in to the police when he found out the BF was 20 instead of 18...

I watched The View for the 1st time ever this week. So far I've seen 2 or 3 episodes [not full episodes as I really can't stomach it]. It's actually THE most discusting show currently on television. I can't stand any of those women & cannot relate to them at all...and I'm pretty sure that being a mid-20's woman with nothing to do during the day that I certainly fall into their target demographic.

It's pure horrorshow...

Oh, Lord. Elisabeth just jumped on her soapbox again. She wants Reebok to end their partnership with Fifty Cent because he is involoved in producing porn. "Until they end this partnership, I am running barefoot." (Audience applauds...) She wants to become the Wal-Mart of The View. I blocked most of it out, although I do have to give props to Joy for calling her out on her prudishness ("I guess I'm not as uptight about porn as you are." I don't think Joy likes Lis all that much. Hee!) Unfortunately, Meredith (who is allegedly posing, or has already posed for Playboy?) is not there today. I wonder what her take on this issue would be...

As much as I hate "The View", I still watch. What is wrong with me? It's like I just have to tune in to see what they will say next that will piss me off to no end. I torture myself, and it can't be healthy.

That said, I did kind of enjoy the reality show segment they did today. As much as I am tired of seeing old reality show contestants come on TV and complain about how awful their experience was/how they were taken advantage of/how everything was edited to portray them badly/how they were screwed over by production, at least today they had reality contestants that I actually liked and hadn't heard from in a while. There wasn't anything terribly interesting, but it is "The View". Basically just "So, what happened after the show ended? What are you doing now?" Bringing out Survivor Rodger to surprise Elisabeth was nice, though. I always liked him. And her...until she started on "The View".

As much as I hate "The View" and am watching it less and less, I did catch today's show. Lis is acting and looking more like Kathie Lee every day with her moralizing, prudishness and soapbox grandstanding. I can hardly wait until her Quarterback hubby pulls a Frank Gifford and does something embarrassing.

But she is catching on, she worked the audience hard in her boycott Reebok rant to get that applause at the end. I noticed that later in the show when Anne Heche was trying to rev the audience up on child abuse, she just got silence.

Good for Joy for standing up to Lis and calling her a prude.

That's obnoxious. She probably already unwittingly supports tons of companies that are partnered with something far worse (according to her morals). What the hell?

AOL had Snoop Dogg in a commercial and he did a Girl's Gone Wild tape . . . Is she going to start an AOL boycott?

Plus, it's really easy to boycott something you probably weren't going to support anyway. I was boycotting McDonalds after I read Fast Food Nation because of how they treated the workers and meat and blah blah blah but it honestly wasn't hard to avoid them because I hate their food. Fast forward a few months and I was outside H&M and found out that they treat their employees just as badly. Did I boycott H&M? Hell no. I needed me some cheap jeans.

So chances are that if we look at all of the clothes in Lis's closet--she's already supporting something worse than porn.

Elisabeth went to BC. She went to an all girls catholic high school in Rhode Island. She is a Republican no doubt. I wouldn't doubt she is prudish. Timmy Hasselbeck comes from the exact same background. Boys high school, BC. Birds of a feather. Believe me, if you wanted an open minded young person on the show, Elisabeth will fail miserably. I am from the same background (not BC mind you, but Catholic college), and believe me, there are lots of Elisabeths wandering around.

It's so disconcerting that the one co-host that's in my age group has to be such an uptight prudish Republican. She's got a pole stuck so far up her butt, it's practically coming out of her nose!! I hate her.

I am sure the other Bill (O'Reilly that is) loves Elisabeth, since he was fumed at Pony shoes for having porn stars or whatever modeling their shoes.

I agree with you all that she should just boycott AOL since they had Snoop Dogg do a commercial for them with all his connections to Girls Gone Wild. I don't like that these people are associated with this stuff either, but damn Lis, get a grip. Make your own shoes or something.

Wasn't she in a Reebok ad (Survivor tie-in) a while back? I doubt she's still under contract.

Being that I always hated her (for petty reasons - I hate America's Sweetheart™ types, BC is my alma mater's archrival, and the girl kept her breasts through her Survivor weight loss), I'm kinda happy she got on The Poo... now everyone knows who she really is (and I have legitimate reasons for hating her!).

I couldn't believe Star called Anne Heche's nails "ghetto". They kind of were, but Star? A woman your age with a long auburn weave is even more ghetto.

Asided from Elisabeth's sucky personality, IMO, she is quite a butterface[/shallow].
