Yeah, me neither. They look like anorexic bug-eyed chimps with trendy hair and trendy make-up and trendy clothes. I think Candace Cameron and Jodie Sweetin are much prettier (and better actresses) than those two.

The funniest thing about Full House was the first season when DJ had this gay-pride windsock in her bedroom and these huge, honking posters of George Michael plastered over her bed.
It was absolutely the gayest thing on a show set in San Francisco that had absolutely no gay people anywhere (Well, except for Michelle's showtune-singing little friend Derek, but I'm not sure he counts).

The most annoying thing about the Olsen twins is how they're now whining about being recognized as separate people. They no longer want people to consider them Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, but Mary Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen. Maybe if they hadn't spent their careers marketing themselves as TWINS, that'd be a little easier. Right now though, whenever I read or hear something saying this, I just say "Shut up, MaryKate & Ashley."

Ok, after seeing the pics, especially the "Before" and "After" I have to say something's up. MK is definitely underweight, and here I thought maybe she was just one of those naturally skinny people... nope, she's just too skinny and it's not a natural state for her body (as evident by the changes). Period. Ashley looks a little more filled out (this is a good thing) and frankly I now feel there is a problem there.
Argh, these actresses! They start off looking GREAT and normal and lean and healthy and then they drop tons of weight and look TERRIBLE and risk their health in the whole inane process! (Debra Messing, Courtney Cox for awhile, Brittany Murphy was so much cuter in Clueless, Jennifer Aniston for awhile she's finally looking healthy again) And now Mary-Kate.
I was happy to see that Candace Cameron and Jody Sweetin are still healthy. Jody was always really lean, but she still looks healthy.

I saw MK&A on Letterman the other night, and noticed that they both admitted to being confused as to the difference between fraternal and identical twins. I don't know if I'm biased as a biology major, but isn't that something that people (especially, like, actual TWINS) know?

First time post in this forum, I can't believe I missed this one for so long! I read all 70 pages in two days and I have to say, you guys are awesome! I laughed till it hurt so many times. I started watching "Full House" from the pilot episode at 10 years old. It's almost painful to watch the show now, especially the last two seasons, but now I want to start watching it again just to rag on it - in a nice, nostalgic way, or course.
Speaking of the twins' appearance on Dave Letterman last night, I am truly shocked that their interviewing skills haven't improved. In the very few interviews I've seen them do, they always mess up in some way, last night with Ashley totally blanking on Dave's question and Mary-Kate getting stuck on the word "audition". Nothing wrong with that, but they still seem very nervous in interviews. For the record, I heard that they purposely avoid live TV because they have a rough time staying calm or remembering lines. When asked if they ever considered doing theater, they instantly said, "No" because they would be way too scared to perform live. I fear for them hosting Saturday Night Live, I'm crossing my fingers for them to pull if off.
When the twins seemed confused about identical/fraternal twins, I thought Ashley just realized she was giving out TMI (too much info) when going on about eggs, so she tried to backpedal her way out of it by playing dumb. That's something I would do myself, so it's just my interpretation.

What the hell is there to confuse about identical vs. fraternal? You share a placenta/you don't share a placenta, you look exactly alike/you don't look exactly alike. I have no idea about the placenta sharage but the fact that they are about impossible to tell apart leads me to believe they're identical twins.
Wow, what morons.
RainIsBeautiful
May 6, 2004 @ 1:53 am
They're actually fraternal twins -- one is an inch taller, MK is a lefty while Ashley is a righty, and one of them has a mole just above her lip (not sure which one -- which girl, not which lip).
I'm scared that I know that information off the top of my head.
ETA:
This site gives links to specific articles that state that the girls are fraternal twins.
jess9802
May 6, 2004 @ 2:03 am
I've always heard that Mary-Kate and Ashley were fraternal twins. Typically, fraternal twins have separate placentas, and identical twins share a placenta. But not too long ago researchers discovered that identical twins can have separate placentas. So if the idea that Mary-Kate and Ashley are fraternal twins is based
only on the fact that they had separate placentas at birth, then it's possible that they're really identical twins. But they'd need to do a DNA test to make sure. There was an article on MSN last year about the Olsen twins and identical vs. fraternal twins, but I can't find it.
Personally, I think the girls look just different enough to not be identical. Subtle differences, sure, but I think their chins are shaped differently:

For me, it's all in the eyes. Ashley's are rounder and closer together and M-K's are farther apart and oval-shaped. I was able to distinguish who was who when they were about 5 on "Full House" - it was Stephanie's Motownphilly dance episode to be exact. I didn't know which twin had which name, but I could tell when they were switching, and they switched A LOT. I heard somewhere that Ashley actually did a full episode by herself, but I still haven't found out which one yet.
Just another tidbit, but the boy twins on the show are also fraternal. One did have slightly darker hair and they looked a bit different in the face.

I agree about being worried about them on SNL. I go between feeling sorry for the girls and liking them to getting frustrated and annoyed with the twincest poses.
RainIsBeautiful, thanks for the link. Fascinating. From
The Strange Truth About Twins:
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen might, in the distant future, give birth to twins of their own. If they meet their future husbands at Twins Day, and those men also are twins, then hey--they would be practically giving birth to each other's children. That's what happens when identical twins marry identical twins and have children. Their nieces and nephews are, genetically, their own kids.
Sounds like a good plot device for a crime drama.
Unless Mary-Kate and Ashley take a DNA test, which Segal thinks they should do for the sake of all their young fans, we have no way of knowing whether they could be the genetic parents or half-parents of each other's children. For the record, Segal--who has been known to identify identical twins without benefit of blood test 94 percent of the time--thinks Mary-Kate and Ashley are indeed identical.

Haven't they always said that they were fratenel? I always thought that claim was suss. Cause fratenal, or non-identical twins, don't look that much alike. There are times when you can tell people are sisters, but not to that degree.
VoraciousEli
May 6, 2004 @ 5:36 am
It is possible that fraternal twins could look that much alike. MK and A are an inch apart in height; one is a lefty and one a righty. Things like moles and the shape of the eyes aren't necessarily indicators to being fraternal or not. Identical twins always have slightly different-looking features, or else their faces look slightly different as a whole. It doesn't make them fraternal--DNA does, and the question of whether they were once one egg or two. That's it.

May 6, 2004 @ 8:29 am
It is possible that they could be identical and look a little different. I grew up with a set of identical twins. They were in the same egg, but looked nothing alike. They barely looked related. One of the girls was absolutley gorgoues and the other one, not so much. One had light brown hair and the other was blonde. It was weird. But I would have to go with whatever MK&A say. They would know better than anyone else.

It is possible that they could be identical and look a little different.
I'm glad to see someone say that, since it's definately true. My younger brothers are identical twins, and they really don't look that much alike now that they're past puberty (even before I never thought they were hard to tell apart, but other people did). Sure, people who don't know them well confuse the two of them, but anyone who's around them for any length of time can easily tell one from the other, because their faces have different shapes, one's taller then the other, one's heavier (though that's not because of genetics, I know), they have different visible birthmarks, and whatnot. They both write with their right hands, but one is left handed when it comes to playing sports and the other isn't.
Let's see... on topic... Oh, last night (or was it the night before?) I saw the end of the episode where Steph became terrified of the wolfman after Jesse let her watch the movie, and at the end she stops being afraid because Joey has Danny and Jesse act out Wolfman's homelife (with Jesse as Wolfman) for her. Does anyone know a kid this would
actually work on? I mean, they weren't in costume or anything, and Jesse wasn't even bothering to fake a voice like the others were. If I were a little kid I'd sit there and watch their little act, then go back to being terrified because it's not like they know the wolfman, or like "he" came in and apologised himself or anything.

I caught the episode where they go on vacation to Hawaii this morning. They decide to take a boat ride and end up getting lost and stranded on this island. So all day Jesse is wearing a black muscle shirt and fugly neon green shorts and DJ and Stephanie are in their bathing suits. Cut to night and they're all sitting around a campfire, and Jesse is still wearing the same shirt but now he has white pants on and the girls have t-shirts on. WTF??? I mean, I know they had to dress up a little for their little song & dance number thing at the end, but c'mon. Did they think no one would notice?

Cole and Dylan Sprouse started out as Brett Butler's youngest child, Patrick, on "Grace Under Fire." I don't know why I felt like I knew this and looked it up, but Cole is the only one to play Ben on "Friends."

Why is ABC Family re-running the same episodes so fast? I swear the DJ babysitting and Jesse trying to act smart eps were just on a few weeks ago. All I want is for them to show the episode where Stephanie cuts Jesse's hair so I can once again witness the transformation of bad to hot. I do not think that is too much to ask.
