What is the big deal about Stephanie, at ten, getting her ears pierced (even though Jodie Sweetin clearly had pierced ears from the beginning of the series, as just stated)? I'm the same age as Jodie/Stephanie, was in the same grade as Stephanie was that season, and I don't remember any girl in my class not having pierced ears.
If the parents have a rule about something kids need to either try to negotiate for change or accept that, to the parent, it is a "big deal" and the parent doesn't owe the kid a good reason, or even any reason, for that matter.

I understand it was a rule, established by Danny for who knows what reason, and the issue wasn't so much that Stephanie got her ears pierced as it was that she got her ears pierced when she knew perfectly well that it was against the rules.
My point is, why was it a rule? Why is there an ear-piercing age requirement? I was also in the fifth grade in 1992-93, so whatever fashion statements and parents' opinions about such that Stephanie was living through here were the same that I lived through, and I don't remember anyone caring about getting ears pierced before a certain age unless they had issues about pierced ears altogether.

Maybe Danny felt she wouldnt take care of them or she wasn't mature enough. I got my ears pierced when I was 15 months old and when I went to school, all the girls in my class had pierced ears.

My grandmother raised me and was very against me getting my ears pierced. We were one vacation in Florida when I was 7 and we were at the Florida Mall. I was wearing purple Oshkosh B Gosh courderoy overalls and a purple polo shirt and my hair was cut very close to my head (baby afro) and some random lady in the food court came up and told my grandmother how beautiful her grand son was and I BURST into tears and my grandmother went to the closest Piercing Pagoda and I got little gold balls stamped into my ear lobes! I found out many years later that the reason she was so against it was because my dear mother, who was the oldest girl out of 5, pierced all my aunts ears and the 3 neighbor girls ears one night when she was 12 while she was babysitting !

It's been a while since I've seen that episode, but IIRC, Stephanie was all gung-ho about getting her ears pierced because of the two Jennifers. Maybe Danny had the rule in place so that she wouldn't just be a follower (of course, she would have been a follower anyway, but still). I'm only speaking from my own personal beliefs -- that if I had a children, I might institute a similar rule myself. I don't think kids that age should care about fashion, and I wouldn't let my currently non-existent children get their ears pierced unless 1) they were old/mature enough to take care of it themselves, and 2) they could give me a reason other than, "Everybody else is doing it!" which is basically what Stephanie was doing. So I can relate to Danny having a problem with it.

One thing I dont understand about the show is why are they always being locked someplace, like the gas station, the airport or the subway (Though, they could have avoided being trapped in the subway if Michelle hadn't suggested it)

My sister and I never got our ears pierced. I was interested in it because all the girls in my class did, but not that interested in it to ask my parents. There were stick- on earrings and it was fun to wear those.
I did have a nitpick with that episode. Stephanie got her ears pierced, and then she tries to hide it. She had her hair done in a Princess Leia look to cover her ears. All you have to do to hide your ears is to not tuck your hair behind it, you don't have to go and do different hairstyles to cover your ears. I can't really remember much about that episode, but Danny doing a crossword puzzle. He was wiggling his pencil and then it looked like a rubber pencil.

Perhaps, but I remember the pic of Jodie and Zoie on the People magazine cover and she wasn't very, well, cute there either. I see she's making a weird face in this instance, but the lack of cute (IMO) was there before.
I feel like I'm headed straight to hell for this. :)

I know we all hate Michelle, but I was watching the ABC Family reruns this afternoon, and she delivered one of my fave FH lines ever. It's in the episode where Danny and Gia's mom, Claire, have started dating and Michelle doesn't like it. So to turn Claire off, she teases her hair, puts on make-up, and dresses in leather. And when she shows up at the table where Claire's sitting, this exchange occurs:
Michelle: Got a cigarette?
Claire: No, I'm trying to quit.
Michelle: Too bad, I'm trying to start.
It's just the way she delivers that last line; it cracks me up. I don't crack up at too many moments on FH anymore (I don't really think I ever did when I watched this show in its orginal run as a kid, either, come to think of it), so I appreciate the funny moments when I stumble across them now.

I liked that scene too, but what I wondered, was where Michelle got those clothes? I am pretty sure Danny didn't shop at Biker Tots' Togs, and still she just happened to have a leather outfit at hand?
Not looking good for Jodie, and now she's got a child in the middle of it.

Going back to the funny moments on FH... One moment I always find endearing and sort of funny is when Stephanie and Harry come home (I'm not even sure what episode it is), but Stephanie says she's going to make Harry "cheese doughnuts". And then she makes them, by biting a hole in a slice of cheese. For whatever reason, they don't eat them and wander off. Then Uncle Jesse comes home from the grocery store, puts down the groceries, and says "Oh good, cheese doughnuts" and eats them.

I
read where Uncle Jessie, er.....John Stamos is trying to get a Full House reunion going. I'm guessing it would be a tv-movie ala the Growings Pains movies we got. I hope this goes through and they can get everyone in as it would be a total trainwreck. Stamos is still close w/the Olsen twins, so it could be a possibility, although they would only need the one who still wants to act I suppose.
Please oh please TV Gods please let this happen.

The guy who played Dwayne was terribly funny. He pretty much only had one word to work with, and he got a laugh every single time. From me, anyway.
On an unrelated note, one thing jumped out at me as weird in one of the later episodes. Danny's annoyed because Michelle immediately trades her lunch with Denise's, before they're even out the door, and he snots to her (which, nice, Danny, she's eight) that he hopes she enjoys the "Love, Dad" icing on the cupcake. Denise replies "I always do."
...Danny bakes and ices a custom cupcake for Michelle regularly? That's downright demented.

I'm curious about the spin-off. Will they go through the Brady Bunch method and have the two girls living together? Possibly married?
I wouldn't mind a reunion tv movie. If they can get the whole cast. Seriously what else are the Olsen twins doing anyway? I knew they made gobbles of money off their empire. But is that still doing well?

Do they even act anymore? I wonder if they'll pull the usual "two couples sharing the same house" plot that worked so well (sarcasm at no extra charge) on One Day At A Time and The Brady Brides (or whatever that sad little show was called).

I just think it's funny that Jodie Sweetin is fufilling the "lost middle child" stereotype in real life, with the drug addiction and the multiple marriages deal. At the same time, Candice Cameron got married and settled down in what seems like a stable and long-term marriage, as the "oldest child". And the Olsen twins- well, they're definitely spoiled and they definitely get the limelight in a way that some would say they don't deserve. It's weird how they're all kind of fufilling their "birth order", even though it's not how they were born in real life.

I love Full House reruns. It is one show I don't mind the kids turning on when I babysit. (rather than Hannah Montana or anything on Disney) It is definitely cheesy and can be a bit annoying at times that everything is perfect at the end of the episode but that is the whole point of the show I guess, lol. I started watching when I was about 4 years old (it ended when I was 6) and it was my favorite show. I remember being devastated when my sister informed that it was never coming back.

Really sad. Stephanie was always my favorite Tanner by far, and I always believed Jodie deserved more exposure than she got. But I knew something was up when I read
this. Nobody just ups and leaves, especially when they were working on a reality show together:
"I was dumbfounded," Herpin tells PEOPLE, adding that Sweetin left their home and took their 7-month-old girl. "Over this past month something has been different. I'm concerned about our daughter and I just want (Zoie) home."
She was supposedly shooting an independent film in Delaware not too long ago. I hope she stayed sober long enough to wrap that up. My heart goes out to Jodie, and her daughter especially.
