I remember one of the things D.J. named about herself was: "I'm nice to animals." LMAO. Don't get me wrong; being nice to animals is a good thing, but it just seemed to come out of nowhere, as her other comments were things like "I'm pretty good at school", "I have a lot of friends".
Another episode that fills me with hatred of Michelle is when she brings home the donkey
One of many examples of what a stupid little bastard Michelle was. Stephanie would never have done that when she was that age - there's a kid who was actually savvy. But Michelle? Dumbass.

Just saw the episode where we find out that Jesse never graduated from high school (never mind the fact that in other episodes, we're told that he did in fact graduate). I think the others were basically assholes when they were pressing him to find out why he wouldn't help DJ with her campaign. Yeah, staying in school is important, but Jesse isn't under any obligation to help out with any and every single event (except in the Full House universe, maybe). And he shouldn't have to give a specific reason if he didn't want to, either--I was always taught that, unless I'm flaking out on an already-made commitment, "No" is a complete answer. That said, it wouldn't bother me if they had asked him once and when it was obvious that he didn't want to talk about it, backed off. But noooooo, they had to block off his escape route from the kitchen and corner him into admitting that he had never graduated from high school.
Oh, and then there's the Jesse Goes to Tokyo episode. Michelle, you brat.
McKay
May 20, 2007 @ 3:14 am
What bothered me most about the episode where Jesse's in Tokyo is that while I get that Michelle and Jesse are unnaturally joined at the hip...it's not like it was her father, you know? He's her uncle. And not only did the adults not explain to her that she had to be a big girl and tough it out, they also laid the guilt on him for wanting a life outside of his family!
Although Rebecca did have a point with his never being around to see their kids. (But, really, were the twins that stupid that they started calling the limo driver "Daddy-san?")
Reny Sue
May 20, 2007 @ 6:09 am
I don't see her being close to her uncle that unusual. I'm extreemly close to my auntie and will talk to her about things before my own mother. (she's my souding off board. I get her advice, than its mum)
It was the unnatrual closeness that was disturbing. The fact that she couldn't cope when he moved out (or the fact that HE couldn't cope) The fact that the family gave him shit for trying to move apart. It was a very co-dependant relationship and even stranger that he continued to focus on her even after his OWN children were born. I was a little bit older than Michelle when my first cousin came along and it would never have occured to me that my auntie would place me above my cousin.

That's more what I meant. She was dependent on him like most children are on their parents. I mean, the fact that she couldn't deal without him for a few weeks while he was away, let alone his moving out. That's not normal or reasonable.

The fact that Jesse couldn't cope was far more disturbing to me. Becky's supposed to be your wife, your partner, your family, the love of your life... and he's crying about not being at "home". Ugh. I would have been heartbroken if I was Becky in that situation.

Jodie Sweetin has had lots of work done. I remember seeing her on a special about the Olsens on E! a few years ago. She was looking quite chub, had a more prominent nose, and braces. I'm gonna guess that she's had a boob job, rhinoplasty, and her teeth capped based on that picture. Good to know where those Full House residual checks are going.
I was watching the episode where Danny and Joey go to their frat reunion and try to steal the frat's seal from the sorority house dressed as women. I'm sorry, but I really find it hard to believe that any fraternity would let two dweebs like Joey and Danny in. Especially Joey. I really hate the Joey Gladstone character. He wasn't funny and quite frankly, he was really creepy. He needed to move out at someone point. Jesse and Becky too needed to move out. There was just too many flippin' people in that house.
The layout of the Full House home always confused me. Their was the staircase going upstairs in the living room and a staircase going upstairs in the kitchen too. Where did the one in the kitched lead to? And how would the cars be able to park on the back lawn? And they always show the Tanner house having a long flight of stairs in front, so how did that elephant makes its way through the front door for little Michelle's birthday party? So many questions yet so few answers.

i always thought that it lead to the bedrooms as well. like there was a set of stairs at both ends of the hallway upstairs. I imagined that they could walk up the stairs in the living room, go across the upstairs hallway and walk down the other flight of stairs to the kitchen

Most TV houses had two staircases, one in the living room and one in the kitchen. It bugged the crap out of me, but it makes for more entrances and exits and what not. But I can't imagine how on earth the two Tanner staircases would have connected upstairs.

I'm an autograph collector (a casual one, I don't have the time, money or inclination to pursue it "seriously," it's just a hobby) and I saw someone online mention that they'd gotten a photocopy of a signed script from the woman who played Vicki.
I thought this was pretty cool. The twins' signatures were so cute! Interesting how similar a lot of the signatures were, with the highly pronounced first letters. Also notice the Jesus fish under Candace Cameron's autograph already...
Anyway, I just thought it was pretty cool and thought y'all might be interested in seeing it.

Just rewatched the second season Christmas episode. And I want to reiterate that the Tanners were the worst. airline. passengers. EVER.
Seriously, I would have been tempted to chuck them out the plane's emergency exit, one by one. Starting with Michelle. That little bratty toad.
And if I had been stuck in an airport on Christmas Eve, I wouldn't have been happy at all, and I'd have been seriously annoyed at Jesse preaching at everybody to cheer up.

I pretty much despise Full House, yet I'm sitting here watching the marathon on NaN. If someone was to ask me why I was doing such a thing, I'd have no answer other than I'm too lazy to change the channel. It's even one of the episodes I truly, truly, hate - The Tanners Do Hawaii! - terrific. Joey is haunted by the image of a hula-girl, Danny strands the family on an island, Menehunes, and Jesse impersonates Elvis.
And Michelle does some stuff to annoy me - I'm not sure what at the moment because the episode's just begun, but I bet it has to do with her mispronouncing words and generally being a selfish asshole. There are some cute shots of her, DJ, and Steph with dolphins though, so that's okay.

I always liked Steve and CleoCaesar, I had the same reaction at the finale, heh, which was good since even my then-10-year-old self was ready to throw something at the screen after all the amnesiac Michelle garbage. DJ's subsequent boyfriends couldn't compare, although, given that they were Nelson and Viper...yeah, Steve comes out looking pretty good there.

What I didn't get was the 2nd staircase in the garage/Joey's room/the recording studio. One went to the kitchen, the other went...where?

Two staircases was just trippy.
But what bugged me about it, was I distinctly recall in one episode, a character wanted to get downstairs, didn't want to pass by two people, but had to go that way anyway because "this way is the only way down". Wtf?
I think it was Jesse, Rebecca, and one of Jesse's old girlfriends or something.
I'd love to see a floorplan of that house.

She was trying to get out of D.J. and Stephanie's bedroom and Jesse and Rebecca were blocking the door as they were arguing. She said "Excuse me, but there's no other way out of here." "Here" being the bedroom.

Jodie married again? Two marriages and she's only 25. I'm going to bet on at least two more in her lifetime. Although, hey, if she and the dude are truly in love, good for them. The best of luck to the duo. Sometimes, though, I think she seems even more messed up than the Olsens. Oh well.
I don't want to say that Steve was the only boyfriend of DJ's that I could stand (because I semi-enjoyed Nelson), but he was probably my favorite. He was basically a little bit of Viper and a little bit of Nelson rolled into one. I remember seeing him on some update show a while back, and he's certainly aged. If I recall correctly, he's lost quite a bit of his hair. Poor guy.
And on the layout of the Tanner household, I never really thought about where the second staircase in the basement lead to. I'm going to guess and say it went out into the part of the backyard the audience couldn't see, but I don't know if that makes any sense. It's probably better if we just let this go, actually. Heh.

I bought the Season One DVD set for my daughter for Christmas. Last night we watched a couple of episodes - the one where "Cousin Steve" shows up and isn't interested in hanging out with 11 year-old DJ anymore, and the one where Jesse has a meltdown and runs away to go skiing with his friends (Actually a two-parter. Oooh, the suspense!)
Anyway, it was funny to hear the 30 seconds of applause and screaming when Kirk Cameron shows up as Cousin Steve. I never had a crush on him back then but even now, looking back, the guy was not attractive. Anyway, DJ slams him to the ground when they're playing touch football because she's so upset that he won't hang out with her, and later, gets her own way! Seriously bugged me. Though as Danny and the boys headed off to go play basketball, Danny's like, "You can't go, DJ. You need to stay and watch the girls K L8r bi!" What kind of dad would do that??
Okay, and then the Uncle Jesse goes skiing one was eyeroll inducing. Stephanie and Michelle called him to tell him Michelle was sick with a cough and he really needed to come home, and he actually does! He drives FOUR FREAKIN' HOURS to get home and make sure the baby gets her cough medicine? Gah. Beginning of unnatural relationship thoroughly discussed here.

Oh, speaking of that episode, something has always bugged me. In this episode, the guys - including Jesse - are totally crazy into football and they also watched basketball on t.v. when they got home. Yet, in a later season, when D.J. wants Jesse to participate in a charity basketball game, he tries to bow out because he claims he's so lame at sports. And in that scene where Kareem is trying to help him, Jesse is indeed totally inept at even holding the basketball and doesn't even seem to know what to do with it. I know, I know, what a big shock that there's a lack of continuity. I don't know why I care, as it's just one of many errors, but that's me.

Despite the fact that the video had enough early-90s cliches, I can think of so many reasons why that video would have never actually been played on MTV, and they all apply to the same thing: Babies. The mere presence of Nicky and Alex just proved that this was Made-For-Full House, and was never meant to be a capitalization on popularity project.

How many times did Jesse's friends make him feel like he wasn't the same old Jesse so that he had to run away/do a dumb-ass stunt? Just those two, I guess. I saw the Scott Baio episode and I was very pissed at Jesse. Yeah, we get it -- from Dr. Dare to Dr. Seuss. That's basically what your friends at the ski lodge were saying before you drove home to give Michelle her damn cough medicine. Get over it -- no more Elvis, no more long hair, no more motorcycle stunts -- you're taking care of children now, going on field trips, giving cough medicine -- and goodness knows, you can't do both. Danny pretty much said you have to stay there and help him raise those kids.

He probably could have had a reasonably normal existence - after all, he's there to help take care of the kids, not take over as a parent, although that's pretty much what he ended up doing - if not for that creepy symbiotic relationship he developed with Michelle.

I was obsessed with this show during its original run. I still watch the reruns, and I have seasons two and three on DVD! Now when I watch it as an adult, a lot of things bug me. ITA with everyone on the Michelle hate! God, that kid was such a brat. Something else that bugs me is the Tanner's dog. You hardly ever see him! Now, I have a dog (a retriever) and he follows me EVERYWHERE. Every time I get up, he gets up. He's right behind me. You never saw ol' Comet do that! He was only in scenes when they could show him doing some trick. I did love that ep where DJ wanted to go to Spain and put that goofy hat on him.
