There are lots of episodes on YouTube (particularly from the first season), and I've been kind of mixing different seasons. My opinions on the young actresses on the show based on the eps I've seen:
-Candace Cameron (DJ) was the best one of them, I think. She delivered her lines quite naturally. Maybe it has to do with being a bit bigger when the show began and getting more realistic lines in general, but I realize she doesn't bug me at all (apart from her dreadful hair and wardrobe).
-Andrea Barber (Kimmy) got a lot better during the years. She started out kind of overacting, but developed her own style of saying the lines, which I'd call sitcom-good. The overacting seemed more controlled in the later years.
-Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) started out cute, but began to irritate me in the later seasons. I think it's because she was so small when the show began and learned to pretty much ham it from the start. Her way of saying the lines sounds a lot more awkward later on, and she seems to do those "aren't I cute" smiles. I see the same in Beverley Mitchell (Lucy) of Seventh Heaven.
-Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen... bug. A lot. I think it has to do with really unrealistic lines as well, but their readings seemed so stilted and unnatural for a long time. I do think their acting - or at least speech - has improved later on though.
Actually, you can see a big difference with the adult actors as well. John Stamos went from overacting and being overly grumpy and "cool" to nice naturalistic acting. The same is true of Bob Saget, I think. But Dave Coulier... He just got more and more annoying to me as the years went on, doing more and more imitations and other atrocities. Ugh. Lori Loughlin was pretty good, but her role was a bit bland. She had to have that smile on her face all the time and it annoyed me for some reason.

The hockey episode was on today. Besides Michelle's general brattiness and the fact that the adults bend over backwards to make her happy, she's a complete moron. She let Gibbler scare her into believing in "Goat Boy" and then some half-man/dog creature. They convinced her that neither of them existed, but when Joey came into the living room growling and yelling that he was going to kick some butt, Michelle shrieks that it's the "Mutt Man" or whatever it was called.
She's lived with this man for as long as she's lived, basically, so...what, about six years? And he puts on a hockey uniform and she can't recognize him? And thinks he's a mythical beast? What a friggin' idiot.

There are a few recent pictures of Jodie around, apparently she might be dating, or at least taking pictures with "Laguna Beach"/ "The Hills" reality "star" Jason. You can see them

Michelle is a character who took on a life of her own. She became a monster that surpassed the actress, so no, I think the first poster was right. Michelle's an idiot.

Among a well documented cocaine addiction for which he apparently was institutionalized/arrested for during high school. I vaguely remember people explaining it over the Laguna Beach/Hills forums. People speculate this is why he's such a leech to the Laguna girls (he wants the money/fame) Either way, he's a well known druggie (marijuana, cocaine among other things no doubt)

I thought Jodie Sweetin was married. I remember seeing something on the Full House E True Hollywood Story about how Candace Cameron was in her wedding.
Also... the episode where Steve asks Michelle to marry him was on this weekend. The child is 6... how could she seriously think that she was going to get married? I really hate Michelle in that episode.

Jodie Sweetin was married...to a cop. Which is why they got divorced after she got addicted to meth.

The Disney episodes were on a couple of days ago. Something I never really processed before was how Michelle was snotting to everyone in her family about how she was the princess and they had to do everything she said, but as soon as Cinderella says that a good princess is fair and kind and that's why people like her, she does a complete 180, apologizes to her sister and shares the crown.
Just goes to further prove the absolute lack of respect Michelle had for her father and sisters. Way to go, Danny.
On a more or less unrelated subject, what's the name of that restaurant adjacent to the giant fish/shark tank? And is it still there? If I had the money I'd go to Disney World just for that - so, so cool.

Now that I think back on it, is there any episode where Michelle
wasn't annoying? Even the whole, "Aw, she's so cute, 'cause she's a baaaaabyyy," schtick grated, IMO. I feel a bit mean saying it, but I honestly can't remember an episode where I actually
liked Michelle, even as a youngun. I'll take one ticket to hell, please.

pafirefly: Get a ticket for me too. It's like the whole "aww, she's so cute" thing makes her more appalling to me. Yeah, as a baby she was cute, but they all couldn't stop talking about just how cute she was and it got old really quickly. Her lines, ugh. She really spoke unclearly and the lines weren't realistically childish. No child uses catchphrases.
And those tiny dresses she always wore? She always had a dress on when she was small. Never pants or a jumpsuit. How many outfits did she have? And you could see her yellow underpants because the dresses were always so short. It was gross. It's like, don't push her diapers into the viewers' faces, please.
Maybe I'm just cold and heartless, but all the YouTube fan videos for Michelle don't help...

Screw that ! People who made those fan videos and who love Michelle can go straight to hell for encouraging all the "Michelle is so cute" propaganda. Same as the folks who said "awww" every time she said anything and the stupid plinky plunky music of life as they learned another stupid lesson.
Oh and Joey too. I"ll pack their bags. Straight to hell with them!
Hrm, who knew I cared this much?
My ideal Full House would be Becky and Jesse in their own apt with wacky neighbors, Danny and the daughters (minus Michelle) living in the big house with Comet. Gibbler visiting and taunting. Steve coming by now and again, and Stephanie always bringing the snark. Just bring the characters with the A Game.
Nicky and Alex need not show up, Michelle need not show up, Joey need not show up. Some sort of lusty neighbor a la Nicolette Sheridan can live next door to Becky and Jesse and drive Danny crazy. Yes! That is my show.

Yes! That is my show.
Sounds like a winner to me. ABC can market this as
Fuller House or some other whimsical and quiptacular title.
The episode in which Michelle insists on turning Nicky and Alex into her own personal slaves was on yesterday afternoon, and I again realised that Michelle was an evil little bitch. She's there with her pink star glasses on and lounging in the lawn chair, complaining to Nicky (or was it Alex?) that the fruit he brought her wasn't a peach, it was a nectarine.
And she also forces Alex (or was it Nicky?) to find Waldo for her in the picturebook. I mean, sure, Waldo was always difficult to find, but to subject your cousin to doing that for you while you complain about fruit? Seriously bitch? You deserved to be sprayed with the garden hose.

If you do a Full House search on YouTube, you will come up with many, many Michelle fan videos. And "Michelle smiling" makes up about 50 % of them. Plus there are lots of "Jesse and Michelle" fan videos. And "Mary-Kate and Ashley then and now" type videos. *shudders* Really I'd rather not think about them further.
Does anyone else think that John Stamos had better chemistry with the kids than Bob Saget did? It always seems like Saget is talking down to the children like "awww aren't you so cute", no matter what they say, especially with Michelle. Stamos is somehow more believable as a parent, and since he gets first billing, I really don't see why he's not the Dad.
And Joey - well, why was he even there? He's creepy. Does he really still do the Bullwinkle and Popeye stuff? Dude, that's so not funny or creative. It was out of place on the show and it would be totally out of place in a standup act. WTF? And those characters are so old anyway. He could at least find new ones. Bob Saget does the "Danny Tanner is not gay" song, which isn't entirely original, but it's at least the complete opposite of what he did on the show.

This is possibly my fav story of the day, and so I have to share with all of you- I give you
Mary-Kate Olsen, New York Times writer. I am not a style section person in the least, but I know that not everything 'style,' esp NYTimes Style Section style, reads like a fourth grade essay-
I have a large, red quilted Chanel bag that I borrowed from my sister Ashley. I wore it to an event and never gave it back. Luckily, she's moved on to another bag, so I'm safe for now.
The bio of Mary-Kate Olsen, NY Times contributor, can be found

From the article:
When I find a bag I like, I tend to wear it to death until I become obsessed with another one. This probably happens three to five times a year.
Three to five times
per year?! I'm certainly no fashionista myself, but
damn that seems excessive! And something tells me she's not toting around a 'Mary Kate & Ashley' brand bag, either (at least, I *think* they have one-- the Olsens have their names out on everything else under the sun).
[Edited because the nifty new reply box confused me, and also because 'name' is not plural!]

Okay, I need some help.
I'm working on a project about morality and how to teach it. I was hoping I could find a good Full House clip from season one (the only season set I have) to show as part of the presentation, but I'm having some trouble coming up with something that's usable from that season. Anyone have any good "lesson learned" moments from that season?

I got an email from my brother, a student at Georgia Tech, a few minutes ago:
Jodie Sweetin from "Full House" will be at Tech tonight, speaking about the additions she overcame and I'm sure other topics.
It is open to the general public. It's in the Student Center ballroom at 8:00pm. (Parking near the Ferst Center.) So if you're in Atlanta and don't have anything to do tonight, go see Jodie!

Nope, most of us hate her too. It's like something we bond over.
I will say that I did love Michelle in the episode where she has a new piggy bank. When she's searching through the couch for change, it's absolutely hilarious -
Michelle: Alright, a nickel!
[back to searching]
Michelle: Alright, a cheeto!
I think it's the dubbed in crunching of her eating the cheeto that cracks me up. Also, her line delivery was pitch perfect. Other than that though, I hate her.

My favorite seasons are the first two (well, really the first), when Michelle was entirely unimportant, and the focus was actually on the guys. I know the powers the be have said (at least on THS) that this wasn't popular with the audience, but once Michelle learned to speak and they started that whole "aww, isn't she cute?" shtick, the show became the mind-numbing Michelle Show.

I found out recently that Nick @ Nite has been airing Full House at 5:30am, when I get ready for work, so I've been watching some of the older episodes. I generally think that they're of higher quality (I was a huge fan as a kid, and stopped watching once the twins were toddlers).
The telethon episode was on this morning, though, which is always an episode that bothered me. First of all, why are all of these people in the audience so excited to be watching these lame performances by the host's kids? I would be out the door the second Michelle started on the alphabet song. Also, the main problem of the ep is that Danny fell asleep, so Jesse, Joey & company had to improvise some acts (which is why the kids were performing in the first place). But why did the show fall apart just because Danny fell asleep? Was HE going to be performing for the whole 4 hours left of the telethon? Wouldn't there have been some other acts scheduled that would have continued, whether Danny was awake or not? And finally...is it pathetic that I'm actually spending this much time thinking about this issue?
*sigh* I really do have a life, I swear...

I just have two quick comments...
1. Ew on the J-Wahl/Jodie Sweetin possibility. Just... he's just gross. Is she much older than he is?
2. Hopefully this hasn't been mentioned before, I started at pg. 100 and worked my way here. I was recently half watching the series finale (which I think I never really quite remembered was the finale because it seemed so incomplete) and for some reason I tuned in when Stephanie is again working on Romeo and Juliet with the boy on whom she has a crush. Mostly because I looked up and started going... that boy (Andrew) looks so familiar... and then I realized who it was. Um... Will Estes. Which is awesome.

I just thought of another reason why I hated this show:
They had the ugliest damn house. Seriously. I wouldn't bring it up if we weren't supposed to see them as the ideal family and I remember, as a kid, being blinded by the awesomeness of two staircases (!) but all their furniture looked so cheap. Everything looked tacky in the early 90s way.
It was awful.

Sorry, but the ugliest house ever was the Brady's. Or, to be fair, for their respective eras, they are both the ugliest.
