RainIsBeautiful: I know that AJ Cook (from Tru Calling) is a Mormon, and she was in wonderful family fare such as Wishmaster 3 and Final Destination 2.

Duckface was around 13 when filming Full House, right? That's kinda disturbing.
McKay
True, but AJ Cook is/was an adult while making those films, wasn't she?
tip and fall
Yup, but active Mormons live by such a strict code of conduct that...I don't know, it seems like adults would also have a problem with it (I know that in an article, AJ Cook mentioned having reservations about being in Higher Ground because of her beliefs).

But then again, I just checked the IMDB and it turns out that Poltergeist II was rated PG-13. So at least where Duckface is concerned, it's a moot point.
RainIsBeautiful

Yep, the key word there is "active". I'm an active Mormon in my mid-20s, and if I was an actress and had the opportunity to be in a movie that conflicted with my beliefs, I wouldn't do it. Mormons are awesome that way -- they really support their own. (I'd be willing to bet a huge percentage of the ticket sales for Napoleon Dynamite were from members of the church supporting Jared & Jerusha Hess and Jon Heder, all of whom are LDS and graduates of BYU.)

Topic? Oh, yeah. I saw part of an episode this weekend -- DJ is learning to drive, and Jesse takes her out in his Mustang and she promptly gets into some sort of scrape on her first turn out of the parking lot. And of course, Jesse freaks out. I never realized his obsessiveness extended beyond the hair before this episode...what else has he fixated on?
Halfpint Ingals
Duckface was on the beginning of Jurassic Park and seemed not to care about dinosaurs, and Sam Neil let him have it in a lecture. I loved that.
He was in the Christian McGee and me episode, but I am not sure of his religion.

Thanks for final curtain call clip, I remember that from original finale. They actually did that every episode at the end, for the audience.
ridethemaverick
For anyone who hasn't seen it, the Candace Cameron/Fred savage movie, No One Would Tell is on today at 3pm EST on Lifetime. It came on last night, too, and I watched. Man, I'd forgotten how sad the ending was.
Videostar
Oh my God, I remember that movie. Seeing Kevin Arnold decapitate DJ Tanner was a Scar For Life moment for me.

Yesterday, I saw the episode where Michelle calls Tokyo on DJ's phone and proceeded to count to 100. She truly was Satan's spawn.
queenfrostine
Thanks for mentioning that, ridethemaverick. I missed the first ten minutes but I have a feeling all I really need to see is the end. I have to say, it is kind of weird to hear D.J. telling her friend about having sex with Kevin Arnold.
sjbrown25

Eeshk, what an image. He didn't decapitate her; he slit her throat.

I love the description on DISH of last night's episode: DJ gets her own room; Michelle isn't happy. That's such an important point it goes in the damn episode description!

It goes to show, if Michelle ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
McKay
Most people don't end up happy even when Michelle is happy.
But, then, if TV's taught us anything, it's that that is irrelevant anyway. It's all about whether Michelle is happy.
Suburbia
I think from now on, whenever I describe a movie or television show plot, I'm going to finish up with "Michelle isn't happy."

"In the hit drama Brokeback Mountain, two sheep herders consumate their love on the mountain. Michelle isn't happy."

ETA: .. okay. That one actually sort of works. DAMN YOU, OLSENS!
sjbrown25

Okay, that's hilarious.
boomersmommy
I'm glad I'm not drinking milk because it would be exiting my nose. That is freakin' hilarious.

I re-watched that episode and the description should have said Stephanie is not happy. DJ wanted to finally have a room of her own and Michelle didn't want to have to share after having a room of her own. So, nobody wanted poor Steph. The kid was sleeping in her waterbed (the bathtub). Yeah, everyone was bitching about the room-sharing, but Stephanie [/i]was not happy[/i] more than Michelle because Stephanie got her feelings hurt when no one wanted to share a room with her.
No Touching
Haha. Michelle even gets more attention than Stephanie in the freakin' episode descriptions.
foultemptress
Well, Michelle wasn't happy on some level, and isn't that all that really matters. And this:
"In the hit drama Brokeback Mountain, two sheep herders consumate their love on the mountain. Michelle isn't happy."
still has me giggling.
dutchsofa
So, I'm home sick from work today and in my NyQuil-induced fancies, I started thinking about the New Kids On the Block (dude, I was watching Band Of Brothers, don't laugh (at least, not out loud)), which lead to me thinking about Tommy Page. Which led to me searching "Tommy Page" on Yahoo. Which led to this:

Tommy Page

Just fabulous.
Drew T.
He has to distribute his albums himself. Seriously, read his bio. Great.

I do love the episode he's in. At parts, at least. Stephanie owns that episode when she hugs him and says he's the best present ever, all teenybopperish, and then she turns to Danny, and deadpans: "Can I keep him?"

She was really a remarkable actress for a child star.
Screamie
I had to get this in before it turns midnight here....

What day is today (although it's actually tomorrow)?

(To-day is Mudders Day!)

What day is today?

(To-day is Mudders Day.)
Suburbia
*absolutely cracks up laughing*

Thank you, Screamie. You almost made me snort creamsicle out of my nose.

And typo or not, adding 'Michelle isn't happy' to movie synopsis(..es?) is now my new favorite thing.

' IMF leader Ethan Hunt comes face to face with a dangerous and sadistic arms dealer while trying to keep his identity secret in order to protect his girlfriend. Michelle isn't happy.'

... sonofa.. there's a Michelle in that one too.

Edit: For whatever reason, I was thinking about Wheel of Fortune (your guess is as good as mine), and I thought about DJ's SAT episode.. Have you ever been eight years old and started panicking about your upcoming SATs?

...only to find out years later that there's no such thing in Canada?

I watch Full House all the time, and I just love how John Stamos (Jesse) plays music all the time. I actually bumped into a song from Napsterlinks that John wrote and sang: "Goodnight My Angel."

I apologize if this topic has already been discussed (I have read the whole board, but its hard to remember everything that has been posted in almost 250 pages!), but it has always bothered me how completely into his Greek heritage Jesse was, and yet no one ever mentions the fact that the girls share in that heritage. Even as a child watching the show, I found it bizarre that Jesse was obviously Greek (olive skin, dark hair, dark eyes), his parents shared those same characteristics, but Pam was blonde-haired and blue-eyed, and so light that her genes managed to counteract Danny's dark hair and eyes in order to create three pale, blonde daughters. Come to think of it, the same is also true of Nicky and Alex, who don't look at all like Jesse and are even fairer than Becky. Anyway, I brought up the oddness of the girls never being associated with being Greek because today the episode was on where Jesse's real name comes out to be Hermes, and he explains what Hermes meant in Greek, and the girls behaved like Greek heritage was totally foreign to them. The same thing was true in the episodes where the Greek relatives came to visit. I just found it bizarre that someone so deeply entrenched in his Greek heritage never tried to get his nieces in touch with theirs.

There's the curtain call. Short but nice.

Heh...that's Trent and Lizzie that run up and give Mary-Kate and Ashley the flowers, right? I remember watching the finale when it first aired and being annoyed by that...took away from the idea of an ensemble cast. But hell, it HAD turned into the Michelle show by then so oh well.

it has always bothered me how completely into his Greek heritage Jesse was, and yet no one ever mentions the fact that the girls share in that heritage.

I totally get what you're saying, mickimouse, but it bothered me even more that Jesse was supposed to be half-Greek and half-Italian and never mentioned the Italian, EVER. (his mother did in -- I think it was -- Season 2)

Also in Cameron news, I was up unusually late last night flipping channels and I came upon the "Way Of The Master" TV show. We are all so going to Hell, y'all.

You know, I've read all this thread and I never saw this posted, but if it has been, I apologize. Still, it needs to be seen by everyone:

http://www.progressiveboink.com/archive/fullhouse.htm

It's factually incorrect at various points, but who I am to call this guy on it? He's actually quite funny.
Suburbia
This is the funniest thing I've seen today. Bwahaha..
mickimouse
That article was hilarious... I love how he pointed out a lot of things we here at TWoP pointed out, like the total unfunny-ness of Joey, especially his cut...it...out crap, the total pussyfication of Jesse, the absurdity of the all-about-Michelle stuff (and how most of the crap she did wasn't cute or funny), and the way Stephanie's character was totally sacrificed in the name of our precious Michelle. I would have loved to hear the writer's comments about the secondary characters, like Steve or Becky though.
boomersmommy
Interesting that "Crack Whore" Kimmy didn't get her own little section, but "Fucking Aaron" did. It was hilarious. I think whoever thought up the fact that the girls called Jesse "Uncle Jesse" because he was Danny's brother-in-law is related to my husband. He would phrase it that way instead of saying Jesse was their mom's brother.

I noticed that too! Jesse and Pam (Danny's deceased wife and the mother of the girls) looked nothing alike . Jesse looked like their parents and he looked like he was Greek, but Pam obviously did not. Oh, and the twins who played Nicky and Alex in season 5 as babies looked a great deal more like a mix of Becky and Jesse, but then the next year they were replaced by much older twin boys who were fair, blue-eyed, and only looked somewhat similar to Becky.

I also have a question about when Pam and Danny got married because in the first season, Danny turned 30 and DJ turned 10, so Pam and Danny must have gotten married when they were like 18-19?
boomersmommy
Didn't two actresses play Jesse's mom -- dark haired lady from "Who's The Boss" and a redhead?
sjbrown25

Yep, that's the supposed storyline. The references to Danny and D.J.'s ages are consistently shown as him being about 19 when she was born. One episode mentions that Jesse was 13 when Danny and Pam eloped. (Which makes me wonder: How could a girl Danny and Joey were fighting over in high school--referred to in season 6's "The Heartbreak Kid"--have dated them in order to make Jesse jealous? They also always referenced that Jesse was about five years younger than the other two; wouldn't he have been, like, 10?)

Didn't two actresses play Jesse's mom -- dark haired lady from "Who's The Boss" and a redhead?

Yes. I forget the actress's name, but the dark-haired lady appeared in one episode, season 1's "The Return of Grandma." The rest of Irene's appearances, she is played by Yvonne Wilder.

So, the episode where Steph gets all peer pressured into smoking was on yesterday, and the whole scene in the bathroom was just edited to all hell. Very frustrating. They even cut the bell ringing, but left the girls teasing Stephanie about listening to the bell. I know it's a crap show, but if I watch crap, I want 100% crap, thankyouverymuch.

Whatever happened to Mickey/Mikki/Mickie?
McKay
The "Uncle Tattletale" episode is on now. I can't believe everyone was going "AWWW!" in the audience when she mouthed off like such a horrible little brat. At least Danny attempted to discipline her. It's not unreasonable for a five year old to feel betrayed when a "pal" adult gets her in trouble, but still, in what universe - besides the Tannerverse - is calling your uncle names acceptable?
God, this show makes me angrier than could possibly be healthy sometimes.

Wait...he was a real singer? I thought he was just someone made up for the show. Seriously, I did. Oops...

She looks like a Sweet Valley Twin.
Suburbia
... I'm still laughing at "Fucking Aaron." I hated that damn kid. I think the last time I saw a rerun, he was in it, and I wanted to smack him.

Count me in - I thought Tommy Page was made up until I saw that link. I wonder if he uses that episode as his big selling point. "Yeah. Remember Full House? Totally was at Stephanie's birthday party."
pafirefly
Oh, God, I laughed my ass off at that Tommy Page link. Poor guy-- not only do people not realize who he is anymore, they don't even think he's real!

... I'm still laughing at "Fucking Aaron." I hated that damn kid. I think the last time I saw a rerun, he was in it, and I wanted to smack him.

Agreed, agreed, agreed.
mickimouse
Aaron was obnoxious, but I was willing to forgive that because he was the only person on this entire show, ever, to not let Michelle get away with her "But I'm the Pwincess!" act. Also, he pointed out how unfunny Joey's cut...it... out schtick was, instead of laughing along with the laugh track.
sjbrown25
Aaron was the mouthpiece for every critic who said this show was stupid and cheesy--which it was, of course--and acted as the Voice of the People.
sunny605
Aw, come on, doesn't anyone else love Aaron? He always made me laugh my head off, and still does in reruns. He was basically the complete opposite of any other character on the show, which is why I liked him so much. And, like mickimouse said, he called Michelle and Joey on their crap.
dutchsofa

Awesome.

Precisely. He was like an outsider of the Tannerverse, making all the remarks and snarks that we the viewers hurl at the television during each episode.
Laval
I like Aaron. He's my 2nd favorite character on Full House (My favorite will always be Stephanie Tanner.). He has way more sense than Danny, Joey, Jesse, and especially Michelle Tanner.
snaggle
I think just about everyone thought that Tommy Page was fabricated for the show.

I knew he was real, because at that point in time I was in between Steph & DJ in age & I was a huge New Kids on the Block fan, therefore I got all of the teen magazines & Tommy Page was in them ALL the time back then, so in my youth watching that episode on TGIF, I thought it was huge because I had saw him in my magazines, so of course he was famous, at least I thought.

That being said, I cannot say that I actually know any of his songs or have ever heard any of them, other that the one he sings on Full House, lol.
Storm Shadow
like the total unfunny-ness of Joey, especially his cut...it...out crap
Hold up. You mean people were actually supposed to find that funny?

Speaking of, does anybody else remember that show that Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey) had called "Out of Control"?---I think that is what it was called. Anyways it was on Nickelodeon, and Cut-It-Out was his catch phrase on that show before Full House was even on the air.
Suburbia
.... Dave Coulier was on TV before Full House?

Wait. Wait. Dave Coulier is on TV -after- Full House!?
blobbygirl
Tommy Page, such a natural and skilled actor, I was so impressed by his performance that it surprised me that they didn't bring him back. I could really feel why the girls were all over that wooden teen hunk.
Drew T.
My favorite episode was on last night: Kimmy's 16th birthday.

I always thought it was great, but now, I think it really is my absolute favorite. Michelle drags it down a bit but even she's far less annoying than usual, as the only obnoxious thing she does is the creepy incest date with Jesse.

But this episode is owned by DJ, Kimmy, and Stephanie, especially Stephanie. Stephanie gets a ton of awesome one liners:

"And how old is that in human years?"

"I'd say more like a bombshell. Kaboom!"

She just owned that episode. She was so much cooler than Michelle.

Other great moments:

- Hashbrown cake
- Kimmy getting a rented video for her birthday
- Two-ply toilet paper
- Calling Michelle's popsicle thing worthless
- Kimmy "Gilbert"

There's so much awesomeness in this episode. Genuine awesomeness. Not Full House cheese awesomeness. I think it's a genuinely good episode. Absolutely love it.
sjbrown25

Ugh, she's so annoying. God forbid Jesse spend some quality time with his own children. But when Michelle wants play time, dammit if she's not gonna get it, and now!

Wow, Drew T., are we the same person? We seem to post for all the same shows!

ETA: Hee, this is funny. Entertainment Weekly found Joey to be one of the worst supporting characters on TV ever. All right!
