I know we've talked before about Danny having some really funny lines. The other day, I saw the episode when Jessie's big fat Greek family comes to visit, and the teenage boy falls in love with DJ. Danny is horrified about this. Dj and the boy come back from a date, and Danny is waiting with disapproval.
Boy: Mr. Tanner, your daughter is the most beautiful woman in the world.
Danny: (looks disgusted) Eh, she's alright.
I laughed out loud. The look on his face and the way he said it was hilarious. Then DJ looked mortified and irritated. It was great.
And yeah, they needed a half bath.

I'm in a senior health class now, and my teacher hinted that we were going to watch that sometime during the course. I'm so excited - Fred Savage + Candace Cameron + drama = awesome
I'm so jealous! When I had health class, we had to watch this movie where Ted Danson played a man who molested his daughter. I would have much preferred the Fred Savage, Candace Cameron movie.

Oh, you guys got good health class movies. I had to watch Return to Me, which had no Lifetime-like qualities. Actually, I don't even remember it but I know I didn't like it.
Right, Full House. Danny was pretty funny sometimes, usually when Kimmy was in the room. Even though it's been mentioned that some think there was a weird inappropriate relationship with the guys and Kimmy, I think it was one of the best parts of the show. Kimmy brought out the funny in people, even though the humor was usually directed at her.

I rarely post, but after hearing the bathroom discussion, I felt the need to chime in. Danny has a bathroom in his room. In the episode where Danny, Jesse and Joey go on a triple date, DJ and Stephanie accidently dropped Danny's wedding ring down the sink. Of course, wacky hijinks ensue. The bathroom featured in that episode was different than the bathroom featured in the episode where nobody wanted to be Stephanie's roommate, so instead, she decides to live in the bathroom in the hallway.
Why do I know such trivial Full House info? I think I just proved how much of a loser I am!

It was the hall bathroom that they dropped the ring in the sink in. It doesn't look any different than the other episodes we saw the bathroom in, including the Stephanie moving into the tub episode in season 5. It was the hallway bathroom, and then when Danny takes D.J. to his room to talk, you see his own bathroom off to the left side of the room. It's not the same bathroom they just came out of.

It's so bad that it's, well, good. Ted Danson drives this really old station wagon and there's a part where he goes over railroad tracks, and the car bounces up and down like he put hydraulics in it. My health teacher rewound the tape three times so we could watch it again and again, because it was so unintentionally funny.

She did. What I always liked was that there was no focus on how skinny Andrea Barber was. I know it was just a natural skinny, but it was nice that it wasn't ever pushed that Kimmy was super skinny. Of course, who knows what was said behind the scenes, but at least it was never brought out on the show as it being a good thing that she was so skinny.

Quick edit. I found this on Youtube -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwP3hRC_cjE...ch=Full%20House It's what the opening credits look like in Japan. Very neat.
And is.. there a reason the Olsen spawn got last billing on the credits, even in the later seasons? I found it unbelievably amusing that the Bruddah's got higher billing over the spawn, who got an "and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen..."

Apr 30, 2006 @ 1:25 pm
Are you kidding? Being the person at the end of the credits with "and" before your name is a coveted honor! (Yeah, I'm totally blowing smoke, but it's true.) Having it become "and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen as Michelle" --using the "and" plus including the character name--makes them more important. 'Cause that's what the Olsen twins needed. More exposure. Yeah, they never had enough of that.

It's funny, nowadays I probably wouldn't think of Andrea Barber as "skinny," but I did when I was a kid. I wonder if the "ideal" body image could have changed that much in such a short time...but it seems more likely that I was never really pressured to think about people my age (well, DJ was older, but same age range, I guess) as being "fat."

Haha, why does "D.J" appear like twice throughout the Japanese credits? At the very start, it doesn't even make sense; is that what the show is billed as over there? "D.J's Full House"? If so, veeery interesting!

'Tis true about the "and" thing in the credits. It really applies if the change is made later in the show; in other words, the actor wasn't credited with the "and" from the very beginning of the show. It's something that was changed in a later season. Like on ER, when they gave it to Paul McCrane and now to Laura Innes. Or Melrose Place, they kept Heather Locklear at the end of the credits as the "special guest star" "as Amanda." I guess the Full House guys wanted to tell us that the character of Michelle was very central to the show. Good thing they did that, then, or we never would have noticed!
Suburbia

Ahh, yes. How convenient it would be if no weight was lost during a short bout of anorexia, whose duration lasts a deadly three days.
But still. Stephanie rocked that episode. She was adorable--all concerned for her big 'sis! I love the DJ/Stephanie dynamic. They're so believable as sisters. They fight, sure, but they're always there for each other.

I find it amazing that with 3 adults in the house the youngest child always found a way to open the front door or fill the bathtub with water. This is how children get lost, kidnapped and drown!

True, true. And in addition to the body type issue, DJ wasn't half as coyingly precocious as a lot of other children on TV. The precociousness bit probably annoys me more than the skinniness, actually.

Michelle, oh my lord. Diving face first into a pile of wedding cake samples, and being rewarded for it by all of the adults chuckling. No wonder Michelle (and the Olsens) were so messed up.
This might be the best episode of all time: the sad, sad music as DJ gives Comet her ham sandwich, Stephanie's flutophone playing, the 80s workout "fashions", and of course, gum being spit onto Michelle's forehead. Ha!
Is DJ stupid or something? How does she think that biking for ten minutes will magically make her lose five pounds.
Danny has obviously NOT taught his daughters about exercise and nutrition. Gah.

Danny having the tablecloth in his pants is quite interesting. You would think Joey would be the one to go for a young man in his pants. But Tanner types are odd.

Saget's Aristocrats spiel is up on Youtube. It's pretty disgusting, as mentioned, but I didn't find it funny. It seems he's trying too hard to prove he's not the lovable Danny Tanner everyone takes him to be.
Actually, I loved him the most in his America's Funniest Home Videos days. He had that self-deprecating humour that cracked me up each episode.

I was wondering about that myself when I saw that episode on ABC Family a few days ago. Eeshk. For someone who didn't already know of Bob Saget's "real life" un-Danny Tanner-like persona, seeing something like that would be on par with that moment in your childhood when your dad rips off the white beard and you realize it was him pretending to be Santa all along.

There are some cool things on youtube to look for including a short Behind the Scenes feature from Disney, the original tag scene to the series finale with the curtain call, Bob Saget's "Danny Tanner is Not Gay" song, and a few other gems. Search, search, search people. I entertained myself for a long time today.
I watched Fuller House yesterday. That's really a good episode, I think, aside from Jesse's willingness to move back in and give Michelle what she wants. I think that the Olsens were very tolerable at this point, and Michelle reacted in accordance with a four year old. And the Jesse/Michelle scene is always fun, and they always had a great chemistry. They may even be my favorite pairing on the show.
Also, today was the episode where Stephanie shrinks DJ's sweater and Vicky decides to take a job in Chicago and Jesse works at the airport. Definitely one of my favorites for Michelle's reaction when she realizes she can wear the shirt (yeah, Michelle love...sue me), Jesse trying to rock out with the band, and the goofy Casablanca spoof. And the scene where Jesse says his pride is hurt by not being able to make money is REALLY well done. That particular story wraps up at the airport too quickly, but it's okay.
Fun Full House days for me.
