I always heard there was not a 9th season on because John Stamos would not be on. I saw see Candance and Andrea were going to college, and would only be on a few times.

I heard that about Stamons too. I know that Andrea Barber went to college, but Candace Cameron didn't; she got married quite young, before 1998 I'm pretty sure. I think the thing was that the ratings for the show were starting to slip in the last couple seasons, and the producers wanted to end the show while it was still in the top 30, and not when it had no fanbase left.

There was an article in last Sunday's paper about Bob Saget's comedy tour he's doing, with, of course, som "Full House" mentions. Anyone else read it?
RainIsBeautiful
I would totally see Saget's show if he came to Atlanta. I'm sure he's raunchy and hilarious and utterly fascinating. (Plus, I'd hope for a pot-shot or two at the Bag Ladies who were once the monkey-est lookin' kids on TV.)

Was it the NY Times or another New York paper, or a major publication which would carry the article online?
CrazyCamper
I saw Bob Saget when he came to Houston this summer and he was very raunchy. Some Full House jokes were that John Stamos was gay, Dave Coulier shaves his balls, "I fucked Kimmy Gibler. Naw, I just fingered her." and that he, like Danny Tanner also has 3 daughters, except his daughters are hot.
cinaminsweet281
Wow, I heard that he could be raunchy but never knew exactly what kinds of things he said. I'll never be able to look at Danny Tanner (especially when he's in scenes with Kimmy) in the same light again.
candynecklace

Actually, it was in our local county paper, and I don't think it was an API or UPI article, so no, it wouldn't be in the NYT. Sorry! It did mention (as previous posters) how raunchy his stand-up act is.

Nasty. And now I'm picturing it. Pardon me as I vomit.

Not sure of the exact date when Candance got married, but when she was living here in Montreal when Valeri was with the Canadiens, she was taking a few classes at McGill.

"I fucked Kimmy Gibler. Naw, I just fingered her."

EEK! Get out of my head, nasty mental image!

This reminds me of something that I always found somewhat disturbing about Full House. Remember that episode where Jesse had a nightmare about his life going down the drain and him working in a garage or something? In his dream he was engaged to Kimmy!! Am I the only one who was disturbed by this? Uncle Jesse dreamt that he'd hooked up with one of DJ's school friends.
tip and fall
And wasn't Andrea Barber younger than 18 throughout most of the show's run? I think she was nineteen when the show ended in 1995. So some of the jokes about Kimmy and the guys probably were around when she was only seventeen. Ew ew ew ew...
candynecklace
They had a Joey-centered ep last nite, where his former girlfriend, now divorced, wants to pick up where they left off.

I've got to say that was one of the few episodes where I didn't mind Dave Coulier's character at all-he was actually watchable, maybe because he wasn't playing such a dork. (Also liked his suit, shirt & tie he had on-or is that dorky to admit?!)

From what I've been reading, Bob Saget and his character of Danny Tanner are obviously polar opposites-so far opposite, they may not even inhabit the same planet. Yah, the mental image has got to go.
Vespasian88
"I fucked Kimmy Gibler. Naw, I just fingered her."

Nowhere near as funny as his "I sucked di*k for coke [i.e., cocaine]" line. I can't find the exact line, but it's from Half Baked and is undeniably one of the best lines in movie history.
Screamie
But...Wasn't it in her flannel-shirt days that she scored that hunk from Human Pudding? So it can't be all bad.

I just watched an episode this week that had the twins going to preschool, DJ going into senior year, Michelle going into third grade, and Stephanie going into 7th. She comes downstairs in a slutty Gia top and whore makeup, and Danny demands that she wear something else. Cut to Stephanie wiping off the makeup and wearing a horrible green and blue flannel shirt.

He was in Half Baked?

I believe that comment (the sucking di*k comment) more so than his "I f*cked Kimmy" comment.

Not only is that disgusting but it's also insanely disturbing. And just...wrong. Maybe I'm humorless [I know I can be at times] but that's just not even funny. Does he say stuff like that about his tv daughters? I mean, imagine how Andrea would feel! Ugh. Her parents? Nasty. More reasons to hate Bob Saget...not that I need anymore.

I saw the episode last night where Joey's ex returns and it was a little refreshing because I barely remember that episode at all. Wasn't too bad. Is that season 2 or 3? Anyone know?
SynSerenity
I think it's season 3. According to IMDB, Candace got married in 1996, and she had her first kid in 1998. Kinda odd that both her and Jodie got married at 20.
Vespasian88
He was in Half Baked?

Yes, although his only part was that one line. However, that single utterance bumped up thay already funny movie to another level. And even though anyone saying that line would've been funny, Danny Tanner doing it made it THAT much funnier.

This thread is really long and I'm not going to read this so its likely that this has been mentioned, but anyone remember the episode where they ask Stephanie to give Mr. Bear to Michelle?

Was anyone else as deeply offended by that as I was? Mr. Bear given to her by thier DEAD MOTHER. It was like her one souvineer from thier mother, that one childhood animal that she loved, and they ask her to give it to her whiney little sister, just because she had a cold. Yeah they give it back to Stephanie, but even just considering it was messed up.... There was such horrendous parenting skills on this show....

No, I haven't seen that one, but I'm not surprised!
Daisy Duke
Er... am I the only one here who didn't find Stephanie that appealing either?

Granted, if given the choice between Stephanie and Michelle, I might pick Stephanie...but that's only because Michelle is Michelle.

No. I always felt bad for DJ, having to put up with the two of them and their "cute" brattiness.

That and my own little sister was like a demented cross between Stephanie and Darlene of Roseanne. Unfun.

That was actually the second time Michelle had toyed with Stephanie's attraction to Mr. Bear. The first was the second season, when a toddling (not to mention an evil-incubating) Michelle hid Mr. Bear, making Stephanie think that Joey had given it away to charity.

I'd completely forgotten about this, but yes, it infuriated me. I'm still terribly attached to my beloved stuffed animal from my childhood and it has no special history behind it, it's just something that I loved and still love. I can't imagine asking a LITTLE GIRL to give up her favorite stuffed animal, especially one given to her by her now-dead mother when her little sister came home from the hospital.

I wonder if Danny hocked the bracelet she gave DJ so that Michelle could have extra presents at Christmas, too.
Halfpint Ingals
I don't remember the episiode when they tried to give Mr. Bear to Michelle. That's awful.
I do remember when Michelle hid him, and they watched the tape of Pam bringing Michelle home. That moment is always kind of sad for me.

Stupid Saget.

I always get choked up at that one. It's cheesy, but...I'm just a sucker, I guess.
Corbinxxa84
My most hateful Michelle scene:

Joey agrees to play in a charity hockey game, gets taunted by his old nemesis who blocked his shot years prior, and gets angry enough to play hard. Meanwhile, Michelle gets scared by Stephanie's Weekly World News talking about "the Goat Boy" from Sweden. Just as Danny calms her down, Joey storms into the room (the one time he was actually somewhat sexy) and yells, "I'm gonna eat him alive!" Michelle yells, "GOAT BOY! AHHH!" and runs away.

Of course, Joey apologizes and promises that he'll "be nice" from now on. At the game, Michelle gives him horrified looks whenever he doesn't play like a neutered poodle until finally, they have a heart to hear in the penalty box.

Joey says, "Michelle... sometimes you play like a meanie, but you also can't play like a weenie. Can't I be an in-betweenie?"

Michelle says, get ready for it, in mortified horror, "Whatever you want! Just play BETTER!"

My head nearly exploded. This little brat tells the poor son of a bitch that she wants him to "be nice", he does, then she acts embarassed by it! The hell?!

I can't be the only one who is driven insane by this.
cinaminsweet281
Yeah, that episode is at the top of my most hated Full House episodes list. I really wish that at the end, when Michelle was riding on Joey's shoulders, she fell off and bust her head open on the ice.

The way Michelle led the adults around by their noses was truly infuriating.

Don't worry, it's been over ten years and I still can't stand that episode. Come to think of it, most of my Michelle hate stems from that entire season. There are so many examples, it's hard to pick just one. One of them is easily the episode where she thinks she's going to marry Steve, and everything from there on out is someone else's fault.

ETA: Yay, I'm a channel surfer now!

I would like to start off my first post on this board with a Random Factoid:

The twins are the same age as I am, so they are around 14/15 years old and are in 9th grade.

I bet their Hot!Robotness is a big hit with the ladies.

I hated Joey on this show. He was annoying and a butthole and always looked like he smelled really bad.

Also, I hated It's-All-About-MEchelle. She sucked. And was a brat. I saw the episode today where she got potty-trained today and Danny kept trying to get her to go in this little plastic toilet and ring a bell. When she refused he was all that's ok, just do well in school, ace your spelling tests, and go to an Ivy-League school. And I was like hey man, pooping has nothing to do with college. Then at the end of the episode, in Michelle yells out "poo-poo" and Danny rushes her off to the bathroom. Then he ditches her on the toilet to watch the main storyline being wrapped up. Then he announces that It's-All-About-MEchelle is making major potty breakthroughs and he wants everyone to come watch and it's really happenening and yay! So everyone goes down the hallway and crowds around the bathroom door and then It's-All-About-MEchelle walks out fully dressed with a newspaper and everyone's really happy and prays that they won't have to see her bare-bottem ever again. Then Jesse and Joey laugh for about five minutes about It's-All-About-MEchelle's silly potty antics.

And the whole episode I just kept thinking ummmm, how did she manage to re-adjust her diaper.
Becka
I think it's a little weird that everyone crowded around to see her go. Like that's not going to pressure the kid into not going. I wouldn't be able to go with a crowd and I've had control over that for that last 20 years.

I hate when they did ridiculous things that have ZERO basis in reality with small kids for a laugh [like her carrying out the newspaper]. Like, so cuuute. NOT.
dreamcoat11
They did the potty antics with the twins, too. They tried to go in a hardware store or something, in the display potties. Ew. And then Joey gave them a magazine at the end of the episode to help them go. Just...yuck.

And this is my first post, but I must agree that I, too, hate Michelle. The story about Mr. Bear just pisses me off so much! At the age of thirteen, I was devastated when my favorite stuffed animal got lost while we were on vacation! I can only imagine what it would've been like for Stephanie, with the extra story behind Mr. Bear.

Awful people. Think the actors and actresses talked behind the scenes about what a brat Michelle was, and how they wished the show didn't revolve around her later on?
Vespasian88
I've been watching FH on ABC Family, and all I'd like to say is that the earlier seasons are so great. Of course the obvious is that the stories are mostly driven around characters other than Michelle (plus she can't speak or can only speak minimally), the storylines are genuine (not contrived like in some of the later seasons), Stephanie was precocious, and other things. The later seasons had their positive qualities, but I have a place in my heart for the first few seasons. In fact, I place this era of Full House up there on the pantheon of sitcoms with M*A*S*H, which is my all-time favourite sitcom (or favourite series in general). If you know how much I love M*A*S*H, this is a complement to FH of the highest caliber.
thecandlemelts
My favorite Me-chelle redemption (is that the wrong word?) episode was when she was like 7, and they have her go out for soccer and she scores a goal for the other team and everyone makes fun of her. Was it evil of me to laugh like a bitch at her? I am sorry, but she got the best of everyone and was such a smart-alec in all the other episodes, it felt so good to see an episode where she was portrayed like such an idiot.
McKay
It seems weird to me for everyone to want to witness a kid's first poop in the toilet. First of all, that seems like it would be unnerving for the kid, and secondly...I don't know why you'd want to watch it happen. Maybe it's because I don't have kids, I don't know, but I just don't get it.
Hank
I've discovered that some parents can become obsessed with their children's bodily functions. I've had to endure scenes like FH. They want to make potty training such a positive experience (and no, I'm not joking) that both the parents and the child are thrilled to have an audience. I, on the other hand, couldn't imagine anything I wanted less than to observe a small child in the act.
Miss Daisy
I don't know what's wrong with that family. I get so embarassed if people hear me go, let alone see me go. Like, when I go out with my friends and stuff, I will ask them to come to the bathroom with me then once I am good and ready to go, I will ask them to please leave the room. They always get so rightfully annoyed but I get so embarassed!

They did the potty antics with the twins, too. They tried to go in a hardware store or something, in the display potties. Ew. And then Joey gave them a magazine at the end of the episode to help them go. Just...yuck.

Jesse was picking out stuff for the Smash Club and Selfish!Stupid!Joey had decided to order a toilet design in every single color and put it in the living room. The twins see the toilets and Thing 1 decides it has to go. So does Thing 2. They both sit on the toilets and pull down their pants but thankfully don't get as far as their pull-ups. Jesse and Becky are super-duper-excited that they won't have to change no stinky diapers no more and cart them off to the bathroom, pronto!

I still haven't figured out how both of them managed to go because as we all know, there is only one toilet in the Tanner house and...I don't even want to think about the positions the twins had to be in to use that potty! Dammit, they will learn at their inconvienence!
Phenobarbara

Loved her nickname: "Wrong Way Tanner". HA!

Awww... it's the Stephanie's afriad of earthquakes episode. It's so sad it became the Michelle show. There were a lot of great Stephanie and/or DJ episodes early in the show.

They showed another good one this past weekend. It's the one where all three guys have a triple date, and DJ is babysitting Stephanie and Michelle. DJ manages to knock Danny's wedding ring down the drain; in one of their plans to get it out, they need to get something from the kitchen, were all the adult were having dinner. So Stephanie distracts them by getting them to sing "If you're happy and you know it..." And she uses "if your happy and you know it, cover your eyes" so DJ can run down and get the tools. Then when the adults finally uncover their eyes, Stephanie is long gone.

Good stuff.
Miss Daisy
Does anyone remember way back in like, the third episode, Stephanie wants to play ballerina with Jesse. The entire game consists of her running into Jesse's arms and him spinning her around and Stephanie would yell "Poe!" What was "Poe"?
Vespasian88

I'm quite sure it was the first epidode. Also, I believe that she was most likely saying "whoa!", but that it sounded odd.
sunny605
I think she was saying "pose!" as in "strike a pose" (vogue!)
Cheech
I am so glad everyone hates Michelle! Worst.character.ever.

I loved Full House so much when I was younger that I actually gave it up for Lent. I am deeply ashamed ...
Jibby

Don't be ashamed! I used to watch Full House religiously, when it was on TGIF. It's actually the only show I remember watching on TGIF, even though I know I sat through at least three shows every Friday night. (so what, I was like eight!)

I always liked DJ the best, cause she was the oldest, and when I was little, I wanted to be older. So DJ was cool. Then, I mean :)

And you know what? Until I read this thread, I never realized how sucky Michelle really was. Sure, she annoyed me at times, but I don't watch the show much anymore, so I didn't really remember her being a little wench. But now that I've watched some more episodes lately, yeah, I totally get on board with the Michelle hate.
thecandlemelts
When I was a child I was obsessed with the Olsen Twins, so of course Michelle was my favorite character. But even through all the times I belted out, "I am the cute one" and dressed with pig tails in my hair and wished I had a flat monkey nose like them, I still understood how crappy Michelle could be. I hated the episode where Stephanie has chicken pox and Michelle parades around her telling her not to scratch and drink her orange juice and Stephanie just takes it. And also the episode where Michelle brings that Donkey home from the petting zoo, and they only get mad at Kimmy. And the episode where Michelle knocks down the dinosaur...and countless others.
McKay
God, I'd forgotten about knocking down the dinosaur. And if I recall, Danny only got mad at Jesse for not controlling the kids. Which is a valid point, BUT it's not like Jesse could've just walked Michelle out of there for being a brat and ruin the day for the other kids. And the disrespect she showed towards him was sickening. In my day - and my day and Michelle's day weren't that far apart! - if an adult in charge told you to settle down and stop acting like a little shit, you did it, because they were the grownup. Even if they were "fun" adults, like my dad, you still did as you were told. Not to say that I didn't have my brat moments, but geez.
Crazy Cat Lady
Hey, I'm not sure if this ship has long sailed or not because I'm relatively new here, but does anyone remember the episode where Jesse and Becky were arguing about how to raise the twins? Jesse was worried that if Becky had her way, that the twins would turn out (I believe his word was) "wussy." Becky countered that if Jesse had his way that they would turn out to be "hoodlums." So then they had a fantasy about what would happen if Jesse raised Nicky and Becky raised Alex and Alex was all nerdly and then Nicky rode in to the attic on a Harley (how'd he get it up the stairs?). ANYWAY, they both have recent pictures up on IMDB and guess what! The projections were accurate!!! Nicky and Alex.
