I caught the second half of the "door named dad" episode today. Unfortunately, I missed that line - the best of the series.
Heh. I was flipping through the channels today and landed on Full House just in time to hear, "Yeah - a door named Dad." Made me laugh and laugh, despite the downer of an episode.
It's been said about a hundred times in regards to every other episode, but sweet merciful crap, was Michelle horrible in that episode, I'd totally forgotten about her B-plot with the 900-number. When Danny asks if she knew that it cost him money to call it she says yes, then flips her shit when he tells her that she'll have to go to bed an hour early every night for a week. What the hell kind of punishment is that? If it were my kid, she'd be made to work to pay off the phone charges, yet she stomps around and calls him "unfair."
Despite the cheesiness of the A-plot with Charles and "The Door Named Dad," Stephanie was right when she laid (a bit of) a smackdown on Michelle: she had NO IDEA how damn lucky the three of them were.

(I loathed Sam Whatever-Her-Last-Name was's short hairdo. I have never been a fan of Very Short Hair.)
I reread my original post and realized it may have sounded like I meant I liked Sam's hair short. I edited to clarify it - I didn't like short hair on either WTB Sam or Full House DJ - whose short hair reminded me of Sam's.
Anyway, back on topic: Lisa Leeper! Hee! She didn't bother me as much as Denise, whom I found incredibly annoying. Aaron was the best, and I didn't even mind Yankee-Doodle-Derek.
When Danny asks if she knew that it cost him money to call it she says yes, then flips her shit when he tells her that she'll have to go to bed an hour early every night for a week.
And when he asked if she knew it was wrong, she said yes and then something like "I'll never do it again" and starts to walk away. Which, of course, was probably acceptable in most other situations as far as Michelle getting in trouble.

I didn't mind Lisa or Aaron that much. Denise and Teddy were the only ones who got on my nerves.
I don't know about DJ's page-boy cut. Her hair was making her face look pretty bad right before they cut it, so I think that cut was needed at that point. In any other season though, I liked her hair long.

Big fat WORD to DJ's ugly outfits-I kept forgetting to snark on them in previous posts. Steph's weren't too great either-wait, I see a pattern here; Michelle had the cutest/best clothes of all 3 girls. What a surprise. Okay, I'm trying to believe that it's so likely that Danny made DJ & Steph buy ugly clothes so that Michelle could keep on shining-I know if I try, I can convince myself of that. LOL!

Maybe this is an old discussion, but has anyone else besides me seen the outtakes for season 2? I just stumbled upon them on the internet today...they're surprisingly funny. I'm assuming they'd be on the new s2 DVD set, but then again, they're probably too dirty for the usual "family viewing audience" of Full House.
These are the standouts:
They're filming the scene where Joey and Jesse create their "Double J Creative Services" and Mary Kate craps her pants. They contemplate whether to go on with "poop pants" or not.
Joey and Danny on the indoor basketball court; Danny is wearing that blue basketball tracksuit: Coolyay tells Saget...
"You can really see how little your dick is in that suit."
(Bob gives him an appalled look, and then Dave turns to the sky and says..)
"Sorry Patty."
Bob says "Sorry Patty?! You mean sorry Bob! Bob's got a real small weiner, sorry Patty!"
John and Dave in the kitchen....
John: "Maybe there's too many Dads in this home."
Dave: "And what is that supposed to mean?"
John: "Haven't you ever seen that show 'My Three Dads'?! Oh geee..." (stops for a second, realizing what he said and breaks the scene)
(Three seconds pass)
Dave: "Yeah, it's called Full House, you dipshit!"

For a brief period of time, DJ was my hero last night. I watched the episode where Michelle made bets with her where the loser would do the winner's chores, and DJ kept outsmarting and outperforming her (at stupid kid things like jax, but still...). Alas, she got over-confident and agreed to a final bet before she knew the terms. Still, for a short moment in time, Michelle was taught that she couldn't have everything.

YOu know what's sadder than a Full House marathon on a Saturday? The fact that I'm watching a Full Huose marathon on a Saturday.
Anyway, I just saw the Tommy Page episode. "Ohhhhhhh, Stephanie.....Mmmm, Hmmm, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm."
Just, no.
He was so horrible. And then he took DJ on a date (how old was he? Because she was, what 15?) and then kissed her, even though he had a girlfriend. Then Steph accused her of stealing him, whilst Michelle finished her tenure in clown college. And overall cheesy episode.

I have no idea where the outtakes came from, but I'd make them downloadable if I somehow wouldn't get in trouble for it. (I forgot to mention that I got it off my *ahem ahem* fileshare.)
It's extremely off-putting and weird to see the actors dressed up as their characters, and then have them act dirty. There's also a full laugh track on the whole thing.

I had no idea that Tommy Page was a real teen idol. I was the same age as DJ's character when the show was on, and I had no idea who that was. I only vaguely remember this episode. Watching the repeat, I figured they invented a pop star in the House-verse

I liked Tommy Page when I was 11 because I was a (NKOT)"Block-head", he pal'd around with NKOTB... but even back then I thought he sang like a girl...and on Full House he was the worst.actor.EVER! Plus not only was it disturbing that he took DJ on a date and kissed her, but what was with his changing the lyrics of the song for his girlfriend to fit 10-yr-old Stephanie?
Now I have his stupid flat voice in my head..."Sometimes I even forget and sign 'love, Tommy' for a guy." Dork.

Count me in as someone who had never heard of Tommy Page before he was on FH, and I guess I was the right age for him too since I'm the same age as Stephanie. I assumed he was some actor at first but then when I saw a rerun when I was a little older I realized he had to be a real singer because no way was that man hired for his acting ability.

Haha, that's true. I've always thought that, but it would be interesting if they had official birthdays for DJ and Stephanie. Heck, I think it was a miracle that DJ and Stephanie got ONE birthday episode each. We're even lucky to know their middle names! (by the way, Michelle's initials are MET.)
If we go from airing dates, DJ's birthday would be February 9th, and Stephanie's would be on January 14th.

I always wondered why DJ got two middle names. Or was her first name a hyphenate or something?
I always giggle at one moment...I can't remember the episode or the context, but the girls are fighting and shrieking insults at each others, and they finally bust out with:
"Stephanie JUDITH!"
"Donna Jo MARGARET!"
The deliveries were just priceless. The older girls were really talented kids. I often wonder why they stuck with the Olsens after they learned to talk.

Oh my word. They showed the episode where Steve gives Michelle a Valentine's Day cookie and she thinks he's in love with her. That has got to be one of the all time stupidest damn episodes in this show's history. And that's saying something.
First of all, the brat was six years old. Maybe I'm out of touch with kids, but what six year old has the presence of mind to plan a wedding and genuinely think she's going to marry her sister's boyfriend, go on a honeymoon, then go live with him at his house all because he gave her a cookie??
Secondly, when Michelle realizes that it wasn't real, naturally the whole family gathers around her and each of them take turns explaining it to her. Gee, no wonder the little snit thinks the whole world revolves around her. Her family literally does. Hey, how about this for an explanation: "Michelle, Steve was just joking, this isn't real, now take off that damn bridesmaid's dress because you look and sound like a fool."
Thirdly, the explanation of all the adults wasn't enough. Michelle needs more attention than that of course, so Danny goes up to her room and has to give her the Very Special Talk about how someday she'll meet a boy, fall in love, and get married for real. The little shit says "But I don't want to wait." WTF? Is she Charlotte from Sex and the City?
Lastly, I don't know if it's Mary Kate or Ashley, but I hated the way the kid pronounced "married." It came out "meeeaaaweeed." "But Steve, we're getting meeaaaweed!" HATE!
What a cringeworthy episode.

It's one of the great mysteries of the universe, even more mysterous than working out String Theory in physics. Seriously, Jodie Sweein and Candace Cameron did act quite well for their ages; in fact, they memorized all their lines at ages 5 and 10, respectively. The Olsens, however, mostly learned how to act by imitating a "baby wrangler" for most of the series' run.

Why do I know this?
Tommy was "spun off" of New Kids on the Block. He used to open for them. Glad to see he's... um... he's precisely where he was fifteen years ago. He had like one hit-- "I'll Be Your Everything", with backup vocals from the New Kids, I believe.
I had his album! And saw him in his very own concert!

One of my best friends in high school was a gigantic, psychotic, very disturbed New Kids fan (in fact, she won a statewide contest for Biggest New Kids Fan because she had the most memorabilia) and by default, she knew about Tommy Page because of his connection with Jordan Knight, who sang back up in "I'll Be Your Everything." As a result, I had to hear that song a million times. "I'll be your everything...ooooooh....and I'll be your best friend." <insert Jordan's back up voice> "Girl I'll be your friiiiiieeeeend."

I was just thinking that I wish that I were about 5 years older than I am. This is because I want to have seen Full House in its original run, not in the syndication episodes where they butcher them with unholy amounts of commercials (and they cut into commercials at the most retarted times you can imagine, breaking the sense of continuity). I mean, I was only 7 when the show was cancelled. Also, it seems that the '90's were a pretty cool time to grow up, unlike the pretty lame 2000's. The music and culture were just so much better in the '90's, and godarnit, they had Full House! But no, instead my teenage years were ushered in under the spectre of a post-9/11 world, instead of the easy-going 90's.
I also had a TV crush on Jodie Sweetin.
I still do, lol. I just wish she'd get back into television or even movies, I really liked her acting.

You're telling me that this dude (who I wouldn't even have realized existed if not for FH) made more than one studio album release???? I'm simply stumped. But then again, the Japanese will listen to anything, they're worse than we are when it comes to music, and that's pretty bad in the first place.

It's weird how I knew that Tommy Page was a real singer (I was big on NKOTB at the time), but I really thought Bananarama and Stacy Q were made-up singers. But speaking of bedroom posters, I think DJ had a Stacy Q poster on her wall just for that one episode when she cuts school to get the autograph.
I loved DJ's lips phone, too, but I also thought Stephanie's huge ballerina wall decoration was cool, because I was into dancing back then. Thinking of it now, it was pretty tacky.

As someone whose teen years were spent in the 90's, I can definitely say that things weren't so easy-going, Vespasian. The media was constantly finding new ways to fill us with fear -- some merited (school and workplace shootings, the Unibomber), some not (shark attacks). With no foreign enemy to face, the new notion du jour was that America as a country was being threatened by its own demons. There seemed to be an inordinate amount of cults (the Branch Davidians among them) and militias, and even one Jonestown-like mass death where 300 people committed suicide wearing purple capes and Nikes, convinced death would take them to another planet. At least in 2000 and beyond, we seemed to refocus on what was important instead of what was... stupid.
On the topic of Full House: I watched it for a few years in its original run (I think I was 11 when it started) and stopped when Michelle was old enough to talk and annoy. I don't recall anything special about the first-run episodes.
