MaggieMooster, I'm not sure if this is included in your list, but I do remember DJ talking about a kid named Chung who had an "Aunt Connie"- I think this was the "bring your parents to work" day ep?

RainIsBeautiful, I like your comparison between CC & Princess Di- they *did* seem to be everywhere in the 80s/early 90s, weren't they...
fictionista
I also noted those Connie Chung references. It seems weird to me now because it's 2005, but in the context of that time, I guess it would have been appropriate and funny.

I caught the role reversal epi today. Jess, Joey, and Danny felt overworked and underappreciated, so they switched places with the girls and we got what if dream sequence.

Ok, in what world does a 12 year old have to be served her lunch? 12 year olds can safely make grilled cheese sandwiches and can for damned sure pour their own milk. And Stephanie, who was maybe 8 or 9 (fuzzy on the ages) could have helped. IMO, the guys were pushovers if they actually made these girls lunches every day (assuming it's summer).
BrightEyes87
Snip.

The guy I am dating/interested in explained to me why Michelle was written as a brat- to show kids the error of her ways and not be brats like her. I know, I know. But that he tried to rationalize it was cute.
McKay
But Michelle got away with everything! Doesn't it give the message, "Be horrible - everyone will think it's adorable!" ?

That role-reversal thing is odd, now that I think about it. The thing over crushed or cubed ice? What the hell? Who offers their kids a choice of ice form? I too fail to see why a twelve-year-old can't make their own lunch. Of course, my mother still makes me dinner and I'm an adult. But then, it's more of a "the person who cooks makes enough for everyone" issue.
fictionista
Heh. I'm 18, a senior in high school, and my mom still makes my lunch.

Lucky!

I guess the thing that pissed me off is that the boys complained about being expected to do it. Well, if that's the case, have them do it themselves. If you're making a lunch for yourself, sure, make enough for everybody, but it seemed like the guys took the girls' food orders and then served them while they sat at the table.
McKay
Yeah, I mean, if they expect you to do something, it's because you keep doing it. Why not try, I don't know, "Hey, if you don't want what I'm making, make something yourself, just don't touch the stove?"

Of course, expecting Danny Tanner to do something reasonable instead of making a big production and making sure the girls learned nothing is an exercise in frustration.
Phenobarbara
Another Connie Chung reference was when Stephanie wanted to change her name to...Connie Chung. I forgot which episode it was.

Jodie Sweetin was so cute, though. I think she was the level of cuteness they were aiming for with Michelle, but the Olsens just were never that appealing.

In the THS, I think it was Dave Cool-yay who said that they were all certain that Jodie would be the breakout star of the show because she was so precocious and sharp. Unfortunately, it was the Michelle character that so many viewers ended up liking more. Blech.

It just goes to show you, America has no taste.

That was included in the list -- it was a Career Day episode, not a bring your parents to work day thing.

Ah, yes, there's another one. I believe that was from the episode "Tanner vs Gibbler," where D.J. and Kimmy had the big fight over Kimmy's birthday party and all the kids started picking on D.J. at school the next day, and Stephanie decided she would change her name until it all blows over.
heartfelt381
I do think that's all the episodes that mention CC!!

Speaking of FH, nobody would happen to know the words to the song that DJ and Stephanie sing during the Telethon episode???

Stephanie sang and danced (of course she danced; why wouldn't she?) to Love Shack by the B-52's, although the discerning ear could hear that it's not quite the exact same cover as the B-52s. And D.J. sang this song Lollipops and Gummibears that she apparently sings to Michelle, while pushing Michelle around in a conveniently ready shopping cart full of oversized candies.
heartfelt381
Oooops got my characters messed up, haven't seen that episode in ages. *blushing* Thank you for the help though, now I just wonder if there's a way to download that song. My sister sings it to my son and he LOVES it LOL.
queen lilone
Thank you heartfelt for trying. Mom also wants the song though.(Not admitting, so do I)

In honor of Mother's Day this weekend (Full House style):

Uncle Jesse: What day is today?!?
Nicky and Alex: Toooday is mudder's day

Yes, it's so sad that I remember that.
bodwod
You think that's sad.... I asked my husband if he wanted a bowl of oucecream the other day!
Corbinxxa84
I told my dad he was the "raddest, baddest dad in the world."

He looked at me like I had a tumor.
Phenobarbara
Just don't start telling people they're "dippity-doo heads".

What if we already do?

Guess I'll have to stop calling my boyfriend a dippity-doo head. DAMMIT!!

Too funny, Corbin!

How about answering your phone with "talk to me" ?
McKay
How about answering your phone with "talk to me" ?

Er, I've done that...only when I've known who was on the other end, but still...
queenfrostine
When the show was still on the air, I always wanted to answer the phone with "Talk to me," but I never brought myself to do it. I think I'll have to do it sometime soon.

I answered the phone like that yesterday when my boyfriend called me.

His response?

"Huh?"

Yeah.
queenfrostine
I did the "Talk to me" thing, but it wasn't as fun as I anticipated, because it was only my mom calling. She asked how I knew it was her, I said I didn't know, and she was just kinda quiet for a little bit.

So the Wayne Newton ep is on now, and I don't care for this one. I hate Joey.

Edited because I have to say that I actually hate myself because I'm watching this Las Vegas "comedy" shit. If anyone went on stage with that act, they'd be booed off the stage, then probably taken out back and beaten to death. If only.
SynSerenity
I really don't see what the world saw in the Olsen twins that wasn't in Jodie. Jodie was much more real of an actor, and "How rude!" wasn't half as annoying as most of the catchphrases Michelle had. (how the hell did they come up with ouce cream?)

In spite of myself, I've always liked the opening with Jesse and the Rippers and Michelle singing. Don't really know why...

Stephanie got majorly jipped as a character. DJ and Michelle always seemed to get all the glory (I love DJ though), and most of Stephanie's later episodes were rehases of what DJ had already gone through. A complete waste of a great actress and character.

How much did they pay that audience to laugh at Joey's jokes? And I hated the ending with Joey just looking all content at his amazing act - it SUCKED, boy!
kickedinthehead
Re: Jodie Sweetin vs. the Olsen Twins, I guess I would take Stephanie over Michelle. But only by a hair. I could never get past the way Jodie always SCREAMED her lines when she was a kid. And older Stephanie = yawn.. "my friends!" this and "my friends!" that. Get your own personality, Stephanie.

As for that Las Vegas episode, Joey indeed sucked. I thought it was funnier how they had Jesse's lame voice singing "Viva Las Vegas" over the stock footage of Vegas.
Phenobarbara
Yeah, Joey's Las Vegas act was total shit. Yet the audience members were shown to be laughing so hard they probably pulled a ribcage muscle. I hope they paid those people well.
fictionista
I thougt all of Joey's acts were pretty lame. But he was endearing, so I gave him a pass. Plus, you know, it's Full House.

I know it's been discussed way back, but the "after the wedding" episode aired today. What the hell is wrong with Jessie? It's your first night in your new house with your new wife, who you may or may not have had sex with previously, (since, you know, it's Full House), and all you can think about is Michelle?

But, that did make way for one of my favorite episodes, the "Hole in the Wall Gang", so I can't be too upset that he moved his new wife into his family's attic.

Okay, now that's just nasty
Margo Pike
I saw about the last five minutes of the post-wedding episode. I always miss that cheesy scene where Jesse is clutching a pig and Michelle is in her room and they're "crying." I would gladly have taken that scene over some horendous one at the end where (because I apparently missed this monstrous act) Joey is telling Jesse about Michelle taking all of the pancakes that Danny made and instead of lecturing her or something, Joey repeats some dumb, bratty thing that she said in a "little" voice as if it was just hysterical.

In the beginning of some other stupid one I saw, Stephanie insults Kimmy Gibler in front of Danny three times in a row (because the brat was keeping track) and Danny does not do a THING about it.

Worst "parents" ever.
Corbinxxa84

"You better make more! These people look HUNGRY!"

What were some of Kimmy Gibbler's best one liners? I can't remember most of them but I know she had some great ones.
BrightEyes87
One of my favorites was something like:
"If you're here to tell us that shirt is out of style, we've already known for three years."
Kelzen
"If you're here to tell us that shirt is out of style, we've already known for three years."

Hee! It's embarrassing to laugh out loud at Full House, but that line gets me every time.

Strangely, my best friend can't stand Kimmy -- she told me that she actually likes Michelle better. (I know. I know.) I was properly appalled and told her that if she thought Joey was in any way, shape, or form funny, I couldn't speak to her ever again.

So I'm surfing around at myspace, because hey..I have no life. And I find This.

Click on "Rollin With Saget". It's Bob Saget and Jamie Kennedy.

I swear, I nearly crapped my pants.

Bob Saget is so dirty....and I love him for it.

OK, so how do I know that FH has officially corrupted me?

I just got back from a very nice vacation in Hawaii. While we were in Kauai, we saw a grocery store called the Menehune Shop ... and my first thought was of Stephanie shouting "I do believe in the menehunes!" from the Hawaii episodes.

AAAHHHHHH!

I nearly died when they rushed over to the Tanners' house for breakfast, and Jesse's all "I'm back with my family!" How weak. For heaven's sake, they were apart for one day. It's not like they've never been seperated. Wasn't it the first season where Jesse flips out, runs away to Tahoe with his friends and stays away for like a week?
foultemptress
Yesterday morning at 5am I was feeding my baby and turned on the t.v. to pass the time. Full House was on. The "Easter Disorder" episode for D.J. All conveniently wrapped up by the end. When I went back to sleep I had a dream about FH, something about Kimmie having sex and possibly D.J., too. When I'm dreaming about the damn show, I'm seeing it way too much.
blobbygirl
Oh, never thought I would find so many people hating Michelle as much as I do.

There's an episode about Stephanie overhearing a conversation between Steve and a girl at the library and she thinks that he is cheating on DJ. When she comes home she meets Gibbler and when Stephanie doesn't snark at her, she says something like: "You mad at me or something?"

OK, and then they sneak into Steves appartment and finds a bra, which they conclude are evidence that Steve is cheating, but then Gibbler says: "Steve might lie and say that it's his....or maybe it IS his!".

Raunchy.
SynSerenity
Hahaha! I love Kimmy even more than I did before.

Ew, vomitous! Danny just told DJ she looked sexy! It was her first day of high school and he told her he thought she looked nice. She said, "you're supposed to tell me I look too hot to go to school in this", and he says, "ok honey, I think you look sexy". Ew! Granted, he winced when he said it, but dayum.

I will never watch that episode again.
McKay
Oh, god, that was so upsetting. He did look like he wanted to hurl while saying it, but there's still something inappropriate about telling you fourteen-year-old that she looks sexy.

Just incase anyone's interested, Amazon's doing another one of their big TV dvd sales right now and Full House is only $17.99. Still not cheap enough for me to break down and buy it, but maybe someone out there would like it.

In that same episode, Michelle was nervous about her first day of kindergarten, so Joey told her to talk like Bullwinkle, hands on head and all. How did it go? Teddy tells her that she's strange, because you know, talking like Bullwinkle ALWAYS makes a great first impression on people. Thanks, Joey.
MalibuGirl
Delurking because I HAD to join the discussion on this episode!! Danny telling DJ she's sexy is one of the few things on this show to actually make me laugh, just because of his expression when he says it. Even better is Kimmy's 2 dollar hooker outfit she decides to wear to her first day of high school. Damn.

Teddy thinking Michelle is strange because of the Bullwinkle hands is priceless! Every time someone laughs hysterically at Joey's Bullwinkle impression, it kills me a little inside. Finally they had someone who wasn't impressed! Of course they made the kids all think it was cool later, but for that moment, Teddy's disgust is hilarious!

Second of all, HOW pregnant is Rebecca supposed to be in this episode? The episode before it, when Becky tells Jesse she's pregnant, he said he was going on tour for 8 weeks, right? She looks like she's 8 months pregnant there. Unless she just started showing REALLY late and is great at keeping a secret, and was actually 6 months pregnant when she told Jesse about it. But this bothers me every time I see this episode.
Hailey
It was her first day of high school and he told her he thought she looked nice.

One of my favorite Stephanie lines is during DJ's first day of junior high with the slutty makeup. (Per Rebecca: the key is to make it look like you aren't wearing any. Words to live by my friends!) Anyway, DJ and Kimmie are skanked out and Danny won't let them go. Stephanie gets to go and she turns and says, "I guess we aren't as old as we thought we were; are we now?" Ha! Makes me laugh every time.

Didn't the audience go "Eeewwww" as well when he said that? Or were those just the voices in my head?

"I guess we aren't as old as we thought we were; are we now?" Ha! Makes me laugh every time.

Jodie Sweetin rocked. I always loved that line as well. That, and her "Technically..."-line in that ep when Mr. Bear was gone.

Yes! I give him a lot of credit for that. And for the fact that he and Denise dumped Michelle later, when she was trying to make them give her presents in return for being her friends.
kakistos
As much as I hate to say it, there was one Michelle line that I still think is pretty hilarious. From the episode where DJ gets her own room. Stephanie thinks that no one wants to live with her, so she moves all her stuff into the bathroom. When Danny find her in there, Michelle looks up at him and says "Stephanie lives in the potty now." A shame the character was a spoiled brat during the rest of the series.
blurvert
That would be funny if Stephanie actually did "live in the potty." Heh. Crazy Michelle.
The thing that is burned into my mind from that episode is the ugly-ass green carpet that they had in their bathroom. I just find that really off-setting.
FairyChica78
The only times I ever liked Michelle were...

a. In the first season, when she was a baby and couldn't talk although the Olsens were scary looking babies.
b. At the "annual" Tanner family fun BBQ and the whole love letter debacle was going on, they featured each character's thoughts while Danny was rambling on and on. Michelle is heard singing, "Boring, boring, why is my daddy so boring?" in her thoughts.
c. In the final episode when Michelle has amnesia and Joey tries to humor her with his Mr. Woodchuck puppet (or it could've been Bullwinkle, can't remember). After he's done, Michelle says, "Clever" unconvincingly, turns around and shakes her head and probably thinking, "what the hell was that?"
