I was disappointed too. I'd love to know what Kimmy Gibbler is up to.

According to the IMDB:

Adnrea Barber married husband Jeremy Rytky on September 1, 2002 and moved to England to attend graduate school at the University of York shortly after. Andrea and Jeremy had their first baby on April 30, 2004, a son, Tate James. He weighed 6 lbs, 7 oz and was 20 inches long.

I remember reading somewhere else that their move to England didn't last long and they moved back to the U.S. but don't quote me on that.

I saw the E! THS on Full House this Sunday, and I thought it was interesting that Dave Cool-yay mentioned that they all thought that Jodie Sweetin was going to be the break-out star of the show because she was so precious and smart and funny. And instead, as we all know, the Olsens became the stars of the show.

What's funny to me is that the parents are constantly saying things like "We didn't want it to go to their heads" and blah blah blah, yet:

The show only mentioned their manager demanding more money an episode
They completely famewhore themselves with the straight-to-video moves, dolls, CDs, and clothing line

The entire THS was composited of old interviews from various E! shows on the cast. I recognized the entire MK&A segment from their THS. Full House didn't have enough real dirt on it to make it interesting, which is why they filled up half of it with the Olsens. I personally would have liked to see some of the cast or other people involved with it acknowledge that the show sometimes went overboard with it's worship of the Olsen twins.
Of course, that would mean that they would have to admit that Michelle wasn't the center of attention, and that would never happen.

I hate this show.
popcorn
This show ended partly because the cast was getting paid too much. I can't believe ABC continued to pay two actresses to play one part when they could have used one girl from about the third season on. They even said Ashley didn't like to perform in the beginning. No matter what Mommy and Daddy Olsen said, they had to have liked the money flowing in.

I think Nick at Nite needs to retire Full House for awhile. Other shows run for a month or so, but it seems like Full House has been on forever. Whoever on this thread that said this was our Brady Bunch was absolutely right.

Lordy, Lordy, I've been reading this thread all afternoon and am seriously disturbed by the fact that I can recall each and every episode referenced, even though I haven't watched the show in ten years. I never even liked FH. I wouldn't have ever watched it if my best friend didn't love it and always insist we watch it when I was at her house. Plus, I thought Uncle Jesse was cute. But not Creepy Uncle Joey. Ew. I truly despised Michelle with a fiery, fiery passion, and I remember my elementary school self wishing she would die when she fell off that horse in the finale. I liked Stephanie, though, and for a week or so after seeing the episode where she moved into the bathroom, I was pestering my mom to let me do that myself. I could take or leave DJ, and the memory of her three-day bout with anorexia still gives me the giggles. And I'm very ashamed to admit this, but I get teary thinking about the Papouli dies episode, where Jesse does that Greek dance. Damn you, "Full House!" Damn you for grabbing onto my heartstrings, if only for that one time!!! Word, though, to the folks back in January who were saying that Becky's makeup advice to DJ remains with them to this day. Best lesson that show ever taught.
queenfrostine
Plus, I thought Uncle Jesse was cute.

No need to be embarrassed, I'm pretty sure we all thought Uncle Jesse was hot. I was about eight when I started getting into the show, and he was the main selling point. He still is, really.
bodwod
Plus, I thought Uncle Jesse was cute.

Never under-estimate the importance of eye-candy. I don't think this show's success can be attributed to great dialogue or brilliant acting so obviously there were a lot of people tuning in for the same reasons.
Mine All Mine

WAS?!? He IS hot. And I say that with no shame.
FairyChica78
WAS?!? He IS hot. And I say that with no shame.

Word! I never thought he was hot when I was a kid, well, because I was a kid and my mom was always talking about how hot he was on General Hospital. But now…just watching those new commericals for his new show…:::drools:::
Kelzen
I actually think Stamos has gotten hotter with age -- he's gone from this to this over the years. I think the mullet was holding back his inner hotness.
Miss Aquarius
Well, this nifty little banner from eonline pretty much sums up the THS, doesn't it?

I thought some of the Jodie and Candace interviews were new. Not the one where Jodie had the braces, but the other one. Ah, well, no matter.

Y'all, I got a 10/10 on the FH quiz at E!. That's almost as fab as passing the Good Person Test from way of the master! Guess I'll be going to heaven with Candace and Kirk, and the cast of 7th Heaven. *pause* That doesn't sound like heaven...sounds more like my own personal hell, in fact. Perhaps I should re-think this.
Klediments
I agree, Kelzen; I far prefer the second Stamos to the first. The mullet factor is a weighty one, but I think the few lines that have crept onto his face make him look a little less pretty-boy. ::sighs:: When I was little, it was a big toss-up between Uncle Jesse and Sully on "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman." They looked a lot alike, at least to my ten year-old eyes. ::sighs again::
cinaminsweet281
Sully on "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman."

I'd completely forgotten all about him! He was a hottie, the only reason I watched DQMW.
Topic? The THS sucked. It was about as disappointing as the Saved by the Bell one. I wish Jodie Sweetin was still acting. I thought she was great. I'd love it if she'd join the cast of Desperate Housewives, ER, or the OC. (Those are the only non-reality tv shows I watch, besides reruns.)
eenie
The THS did suck. I didn't need the entire story, piece by piece, of how the Olsen dynasty was built. I wanted Kimmy Gibbler, dammit!
Some of the backstory in the beginning was interesting, on the man who was originally supposed to play Danny Tanner and how they made casting choices...but then it just went downhill.
McKay
I can't believe I never knew that he married the girl who played the grown-up Michelle

He DID?! Oy, that seems so wrong somehow.

The Vicky cooks/twins are out of control ep aired today, and I always want to slap the Tanners. The twins were, like, barely two in that episode. Obviously kids need discipline, but taking away dessert from kids that age does NOTHING, nor does sending them to their rooms, and the Tanners need to fucking BUTT OUT because clearly Danny knows nothing about parenting. Also, like he should talk about ill-behaved children. He fucking raised MICHELLE. And he paid off his kids to eat his fiancee's cooking in that same episode.
HAAAAATE! Also, shut up, Michelle. You shouldn't have left your project on the floor and the door open with two toddlers and a dog in the house anyway.
branbran
I saw a little bit of the E! True Hollywood Story. Candace is beautiful.
gracie18
I don't know if this should go in the FH forum or in the SNL forum, but I saw the SNL last night where Bob Saget hosted (back in 1995) and you could tell that he just hated the show. Full House, not Saturday Night Live.
What I had hoped for was for somebody to say "Well, even though we were involved with this show, none of us actually treated our children the way that the girls were treated on this show." Instead, all we got was "Michelle Michelle Michelle" intermixed with "Olsens Olsens Olsens"
Lindsey C
I hated Michelle in the "Vicki Brings Goat Cheese/Twincipline 101" episode. If I did that as a kid, my mom would have slapped me seven ways from Tuesday. And my parents weren't even into corpral punishment. Yeah, you aren't supposed to make your kids eat what they don't like, but the Tanner kids (minus DJ) were total brats. Even Steph bugged then. I can see Danny paying them because they were such bitches. Also, the twins were totally annoying. Maybe it's all the peroxide from Becky's orange hair? Or maybe it's that I always hated the twins, and I hated married Uncle Jesse.
edboyko
For some odd reason, I find myself glued to the Full House reruns that are on a zillion times a day. I know the show is pretty bad and poorly written, but it's like a train wreck--I can't help but watch. I totally agree, though, those kids were brats--particularly Michelle, but everyone had to treat her like she was some queen. Remember the episode where it's her 5th bday (later in that episode Jesse's twins end up being born) and she had that fit that she didn't want to grow up and she was going to remain a baby? That was ridiculous, everyone had to reminisce about how great she's always been.
rml24601

I remember that one- there was a sketch where Saget was the host of some "kids" trivia game show, but he asked all these innapropriate questions that no child would/should know the answer to.
Lindsey C
Too many episodes had Michelle montages. And they all pretty much had the same clips/music. The only one I liked was the "baby love" one because she wasn't talking, and it wasn't as contrived.
edboyko
Also, one thing that really bugged about FH is Wake Up San Francisco. Not sure why, but it was just so cheesy. They broadcasted from Tahoe, they were able to vacation in Hawaii b/c the show was in reruns, etc. Too contrived. Also, Becky and Danny would always be leaving to go to work fairly late in the morning for a morning show--like the time the kids were going to school. The whole thing was just lame, especially the "wake up" little jingle they would play.
BambiJo
Does anyone else think that the Oleson twins were really, really ugly babies? I always hated to even look at Michelle because I thought she was really funny looking. Not that they grew up to be much to look at, but as babies...ugh.
BambiJo
Ooops, deleted because it posted twice. Sorry.
bodwod
I remember thinking at the time that it was odd that such ugly babies made it to TV. They looked like little monkeys. Shockers. I think they're pretty gorgeous now but make-up and clothes do a lot to help there. With the right stylist, most people can be gorgeous.
StrawberryMoose
Does anyone else think that the Oleson twins were really, really ugly babies? I always hated to even look at Michelle because I thought she was really funny looking.

Oh, word. As someone has pointed out in here once, they were totally the Troll Babies. In fact I remember thinking back then how amazing it was to behold human babies that looked exactly like the Danish Gjøl Trolls! I still can't believe how pretty the two of them have turned out.

Also, one thing that really bugged about FH is Wake Up San Francisco. Not sure why, but it was just so cheesy. They broadcasted from Tahoe, they were able to vacation in Hawaii b/c the show was in reruns, etc. Too contrived.

WORD. It made absolutely no sense. And I hated the jingle too. I remember the kids in my school used to go around singing that idiotic little "waaaaake up!" all the time. So annoying.

and she had that fit that she didn't want to grow up and she was going to remain a baby? That was ridiculous, everyone had to reminisce about how great she's always been.

ITA. That was one of the things I hated most about Michelle and/or Danny's parenting: Every time Michelle stormed out of the room in tears over some ridiculous issue, everybody had to follow her and go out of their way to comfort her, as if it were a really big deal. Which it never was. If Danny was any kind of sensible father he would have just ignored that bratty little girl and waited for her to cool down. But no. For the World revolves around the Brat...

Side note: God, how I hated that "You've got it, dude!"-thing. To this day I am unable to see in what parallel universe that is supposed to be cute. Where would a three-year-old have picked up a phrase like that? And how would she ever think of using said phrase every time she answered in the affirmative? It makes no sense! Grrrr... I know that sitcoms producers always loved for the youngest kid in a family to be precocious, but that was just ridiculous. ...sorry, I just needed to vent.
Phenobarbara
The THS sucked

Word. It focused too much on Mary Kate and Ashley. I wanted more info about the grown ups and Kimmy Gibbler! The only interesting part was the fact that John Stamos and Bob Saget didn't get along.

Dave Cool-Yay married the girl who played grown up Michelle! Ick!

sorry, I just needed to vent

Vent away. There are so many examples of Michelle being a spoiled whiny brat and Danny coddling her at the expense of D.J. and Stephanie. My all time favorite I Hate Michelle episode was when D.J. and Stephanie had tickets to the Counting Crows. Danny took Stephanie's ticket away from her because "it's Michelle's turn". His parenting philosophy was that each child takes turns doing something special, and since it was Michelle's "turn", SHE should go to the concert, even though D.J. and Stephanie got the tickets. The little brat had never even heard of the band (she kept calling them "Counting Cows") and spent the rest of the episode rubbing it in D.J. and Stephanie's faces that SHE's going to the concert so ha ha ha. I wanted to reach through my t.v. and smack both her and Danny. What the hell kind of rule is that? If Michelle had gotten tickets to some kiddie show, would Danny take them away from her because it was someone else's
"turn"? Of course not. But he didn't hesitate doing it to the other girls. Bah. Danny was such a shitheel.

My second favorite I Hate Michelle episode was the Princess For a Day when they went to Disney World. Vomit.

My third favorite? The one where Michelle and Steve get "married". Anyone remember how that got started? I just remember her wearing some pretty white dress and "marrying" Steve. The family thought it was adorable and went along with what they thought was a game. But Michelle thought they were actually married and when Steve and the others broke it to her that it was just a game, she threw a tantrum and cried. That was one of the lamest and unrealistic moments in the history of this otherwise fairly good show. Naturally, the family has to all go and comfort Michelle after her poor little heart was broken. When Stephanie was little, there was the time when she "married" one of her little friends but that was funny, because her friends actually staged a play wedding and she realized on her own it wasn't real. But Michelle's scenario was pretty annoying.
Lindsey C
Part of that is because Jodie Sweetin was/is a better actress than either of the Olsen twins. Watching the DVDs I noticed that a lot of the cutesy, but sarcastic comments were way funnier coming from young Steph. What makes me mad is that Stephanie went from the most entertaining to an annoying, older sidekick for Michelle. It would have been an all around better show if they wouldn't have had the character Michelle. Or at least if she didn't talk.
McKay
Seriously, was Michelle "special"? A kid that age should understand the concept of pretend.
I think Stephanie and...what the hell was his name? The cute little Asian boy were "really" married, as much as little kids do. They knew it wasn't REAL, obviously, but they were, like, boyfriend and girlfriend. It was pretty cute, I thought.
BrightEyes87
What was his name?
Didn't he call Stephanie "chief"? Too cute.
Charlotte
His name was Harry. I think his last name was Takiyama.
smilepretty
I just really have to chime in on the Michelle hate.

My third favorite? The one where Michelle and Steve get "married".

I remember this one. I remember thinking that she was such an idiot. When Steve gave her that fake ring from the twisty tie from the bread, she actually believed it was a real ring. Dumbass. I am the exact same age as Olsen twins/Michelle, and when I was at the age Michelle was in this ep, I never was so gullible as to believe my older sister's boyfriend wanted to marry me, a five year old dumbass.

Anyway, I just finished watching the S1 DVDs. Bob Saget and Dave Coulier are horrible actors. Watching the show growing up, I never realized it, but now that I'm old enough to know better, dude, they suck.

Jodie Sweetin was an adorable child. She was the highlight of the show for me. I love how this five year old actress possessed more talent than Saget and Coulier could ever dream of. Actually, I've always enjoyed Stephanie as a character, but as a little child, she was quite hilarious.

Candace Cameron is enjoyable as well. Again, more talent than two of the adult actors combined.

Uncle Jesse rocks, but then again, I am John Stamos' bitch.

Michelle sucks.

I laugh hysterically at "that was mean. Really mean." as she leaps off the chair and runs up the steps.

I also like when she tries to see which of her two best friends (Denise and Teddy) will give her more stuff when she's deciding who to trace for her project. They trace each other instead, and Michelle ends up tracing Comet. All the kids laugh when she shows her tracing in class. Hee!

John Posey as Danny Tanner really reminded me of Kirk Cameron, an interesting coincidence.

I can see her saying it in my head, and it really is hilarious. Laughing at Michelle never gets old.

I have "New York Minute" on right now (there was nothing else on, really), and while I'll agree that the Oleson twins have gotten a hell of a lot prettier since their troll baby days, they still have those distracting goggle eyes. I was watching one of their "deep" scenes, and just couldn't get my fascination/horror of those things.
kakistos
I also like when she tries to see which of her two best friends (Denise and Teddy) will give her more stuff when she's deciding who to trace for her project.

So what's the deal with Denise? I remember an episode where Michelle "met" Denise the day after Teddy moved away, and an episode where Michelle "met" Denise on the Ranger Joe show when Aaron and Teddy decided that they didn't want to play with girls. Which one came first? And did Teddy move back at some point which would explain how he could have known Denise?
edboyko
I think Stephanie was an adorable little girl, like in the first and second seasons. I know the teenage years are awkward for most of us, but does anyone else think Stephanie got a bit manly during like the last two seasons? I don't know if it was the style of clothes then, like the flannel shirts (which I was guilty of wearing, as well) or what...

Was watching the 1st season DVD last night and watched "Joey's Place" episode. I know it's TV and unrealistic, but I like how Danny was able to talk to some contractors and then have that lovely room completed in 2 weeks. Yeah, right.
Cypher21
And did Teddy move back at some point which would explain how he could have known Denise?

He moved back in the episode where Michelle made Denise and Teddy give her the best gifts to see whom she wanted to be friends w/more. Ultimately the plan backfired as her two friends realized what a selfish conniving bitch she really was, she ended up having to trace Comet, poor dog, and looking like a utter failure and fool in front of her entire class.

Yeah, she did develop manly shoulders. Maybe that's why she got the boob job. But someone posted her wedding pictures in here, she did grow up to be pretty.
edboyko
So is that fact that she's had a boob job? I was wondering about that b/c I saw some pictures and it looks as though that could be the case. Yes, she's very pretty now.
queenfrostine
I watched the ep where Michelle scores the winning goal for the opposite team tonight. Michelle sucking = always golden.

The ep with the "disciplining" of the twins has been mentioned recently, and N@N once again played it tonight. I think the best part of that ep (the only good part, I believe) is when Kimmy says to Danny, "If you called us down here to tell us that sweater is out of style, we've known for three years." Okay, so it doesn't sound that funny now, but it was when she said it, I swear.
alannapants

Cypher21, this made me laugh so hard! Just something about the way you worded it, and the whole idea of calling a little girl a "conniving bitch" and an "utter failure and fool"...ahh, too funny! I can barely type cause I'm still laughing. I'm loving the Michelle hate around here - what a douchey character.

I finally caught the THS Sunday night...No Kimmy Gibbler?!? Outrage! Plenty about the Olsens, of course. I wish they would have mentioned more about how they were the fugliest babies that ever graced the telly. [Justification] You know, the swan-story angle, or whatever (since, from what I understand they are smokin' hot these days...)[/Justification]
edboyko
Oh boy, the Papouli episode is on right now. This has to be the most awkward FH episode ever.

Just when I thought it couldn't get worse--now the cousin Stavros episode is on, with John Stamos in his "award-winning" dual role!

Heads up, the THS is on E! right now.

ITA, edboyko. I thought Stephanie was a gorgeous little girl, but in her pre-teen/teenage years, she was definitely very awkward-looking and manly. And it definitely didn't help that they always had her in a flannel shirt and jeans combo, or some long, flowered dress. I always got the feeling that, if the show had gone on, Stephanie would've been a lesbian. I definitely thought that her friend Micki was.

P.S. I am not trying to imply that women who wear flannel shirts, jeans, and long, flowered dresses are lesbians, so please forgive me if I'm offending anyone!

P.P.S. Jodie Sweetin is very pretty now and much more womanly.
Halfpint Ingals
I finally saw the THS. It was too much about the Olesons. They repeated some DVD stuff. I did learn Lori Loughlin prounounces her name Lock-Lin ( I thought it ryhmed with cough.) I did learn some stuff, and they did a good job. But now I will tape over it with better stuff.
StuckeyGilmore
Go check out the stuff on the Tubey's Kids auction. I already started a Full House thread for us. My personal vote if we can get it together and win the auction would be to get a recap of the Disney World episode.

Those two episodes were the ultimate in cheese. What was hysterically funny in the Papouli episode was how fake everyone's tears were. It looked as if they stopped the scene, put Artificial Tears in everyone's eyes, then resumed the scene. So fake.
popcorn
One of the girls squeezed out a tear. I think it was Candace. John Stamos showed sadness by looking at his feet and rubbing his greasy hair. I guess its a good thing this show didn't try drama very often.
edboyko
Yes, very fake tears and seriousness from everyone and just so awkward to watch.

Did anyone think that Candace kind of had a weird accent going on on the THS? She just talked completely differently than she did on the series and pronounced words kind of weird. Was it just me?
