Hey, that's awesome. But since I live in Canada with no satellite, the Star! channel will probably show it in, like, July. *pouts*

I'm excited for the E!THS! Here's to hoping it's actually full of interesting things...because I could see it sucking as well. I wonder if the Olsens will be commenting? Doubt it.
Phenobarbara
I wonder if there will be any dirt on the dad. Although, I must say, I don't get any skeevy feelings from him, unlike another famous manager-dad whose two daughters are in show biz. Ahem. Anyways, should be fun.
FairyChica78
THS on Full House? Hell yeah! Something to look forward to while most other TV shows are in pre-season finale re-run hell.

I doubt the Olsens will be commentators. I bet it'll be Bob Saget, Dave Cool-yay, Jodie, Candace and maybe Lori Loughlin if she's not too busy with "Summerland" right now. No way Stamos would since he's busy focusing on "Jake in Progress." I would also love to see Andrea Barber doing commentary.

I wonder if there will be any good dirt like there was in THS for Growing Pains (one of the best THS ever) where it proved that Kirk Cameron is/was the ultimate tool of all-time.

I actually saw Bob Saget last night where he's doing a gig at the Improv this weekend. He was on the radio this morning and was talking about how he performed dialogue from an x-rated "lost" episode of Full House while doing stand-up for college kids.

ETA: From TV Guide Online:
120 mins.
"Full House", the once-popular Friday night staple, is recalled through interviews with stars Dave Coulier and Lori Loughlin, creator/writer Jeff Franklin and TV GUIDE'S Mary Murphy, among others. The overview also includes archival insights from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Bob Saget and John Stamos.

Wow, I've read all 170 and change pages in three days. I either have no life or you guys are that entertaining. I vote for the latter.

My favorite line? It's the only one that makes me laugh out loud every time...

Stef and Michelle saw some werewolf movie that, of course, scared the crap out of them. So, the Boys try to show them that werewolves are normal family people (the hell?).

So Joey is the dad, "George Wolf."
Jesse, with his bedhead, is the son "Junior Wolf."

And then Danny, in this awesome falsetto says, "And I'm the wife, Virginia Wolff!"

Dude, I don't know if it's his voice, or just the reference, but that KILLS me.

Edited to say I made Channel Surfer on Full House? Yay! Or, quite possibly, ew!
FairyChica78
I saw a commercial this morning for the THS next week. It basically showed John Stamos (from his E! Celebrity Profile show from 1998) saying, "The role of Uncle Jesse basically became a double-edge sword for me." I believe that's where he also said that after he taped the final episode of Full House, he was driving home and the song, "It's the End of the World As We Know It and I Feel Fine" came on the radio and he said that the title basically summed up how he was feeling about the end of the show.

Just an FYI: John Stamos will be a chat guest at E! Online's Watch with Kristin tomorrow at 5 p.m. ET.

Full House was...you know, Full House, but it bugs me when people complain about the the projects they were in, especially when they try to act like they are "above" them.

Anyway, I completely enjoy this thread. I can't say I like the show, but I still watch it every day for whatever reason. There was some one that I hadn't seen in a couple of years where Michelle is grounded by Uncle Jesse and runs away. HATE! Michelle was one of the most annoying characters in television.
gracie18
I saw the best episode of Full House a few days ago. Everyone left and forgot Michelle. Hooray!!!!!!!!!!

Aw crap, they came back.

I agree, Margo Pike. It's like, we probably wouldn't even know who you were if it wasn't for Full House. They should be grateful they had a great gig like that. I mean, FH wasn't the greatest, but to be honest, it's a lot better than alot of the junk they've got on TV now. I'm always watching the N@N reruns.
BTW, Margo, love the name. Baby-sitters Club reference?
SynSerenity
I am strangely addicted to the reruns of this show. *shame*

Anyway, I loved DJ, Steph, Jesse, and Becky. Hated Michelle (hooray for all the Michelle hate here), but didn't mind Danny.

Why am I so addicted to watching this show?
sicksamgreen
you know, after seeing Uncle Joey on surreal life, I developed quite the crush! He is a total hottie!
Ilikerobots
I used to watch this show pretty frequently, and whenever I am visiting my family, I'll watch an ep or two on ABC Family.

What always annoyed me though was the treatment of the dead mother. Whenever the kids had a very genuine sadness about their mother being dead, it was always resolved that because they had an "Uncle Jessie and an uncle Joey", that made everything better!! And one of the girls would suddenly smile and say, "I bet no one else has an uncle Joey!" Umm, fraid not! Sorry, but big hair uncle and super lame-o uncle does not make up for having a real mom!! Like, let the kid be upset that her mom is dead! It's sad. How did she die anyway?

Michelle was an annoying child actress, but if you compare her to SamVid on 7th Heaven, she is a Shakespearean actress who is incredibly adorable.
BrightEyes87
The mom dies in a car wreck with a drunk driver, thus prompting DJ and Kimmy to fight about alcohol when they got older.

If every word I said could make you laugh, I'd talk forever....

I wouldn't say hottie cause he's still creepy and annoying Joey Gladstone from Full House, but my opinion of Cool-yay has drastically changed from what it was before from meeting him and seeing him on The Surreal Life. He was an absolute sweetie on that show and was the loving, figure father in that house full of nutcases and egomaniacs. Now if only someone would've asked him about Alanis, I might've tuned in more.

OT (slightly): I was at Best Buy this week browsing in the TV shows on DVD section and a lot of little girls I noticed were going crazy when seeing the Full House: Season One DVD on the shelf. I know MK and Ashley are a big market for little and pre-teenage girls but I do think this show is becoming "The Brady Bunch" of our time. I mean, you can never miss a re-run of this show on TV, it's always on! I love this show personally because it was my favorite growing up. The show started when I was 8 years old and ended when I turned 16 (although I kept it a secret that I watched this show in my high school years) and I've seen every episode at least twice. I've met the cast (except MK and Ashley) over the years and I still have some Stephanie books. It's definitely not the best show by any means as most of the episodes are not funny, the guys are asshats and are basically not funny, and Michelle is biggest brat ever on a TV show. However, it's a show that's strangely addicting to watch. I would love to see a reunion show/movie one day, but I don't think it would ever happen and I know MK and Ashley and John Stamos wouldn't do it. Also, TV show reunion shows/movies never live up to their potential (i.e. those god awful Growing Pains movies I couldn't wait to see).

Yesterday, I saw the episode where Jesse finally realizes his dream of being a rock star, it's in Japan, but beggers can't be choosers. Anyway, everytime I see it, I just want to tell Jesse to run from Becky and her brassy hair and bad wardrobe and those horrendously stupid twins. Run like the wind, Jess! And although Michelle is shockingly minimal, the hate remains due to this exchange:

Becky: You promised you'd write Michelle everyday for the two weeks you were gone.
Jesse: So I missed a couple of days.
Becky: Try thirteen.

Seriously, who takes the time out of living their fucking dream to write to an annoying five year old brat? If I were Becky, I'd say screw the attic, make an appointment with a hair dresser, go to the GAP, and move to Japan. It's like Becky's hair turned orange and it killed her brain cells. She was cool once upon a time. I think.

I do think this show is becoming "The Brady Bunch" of our time.

Good point- Full House & Saved By The Bell are the 2 shows I will always check in to see which ep it is; I also frequently start sentences with "Remember the one when..." when talking about one of these shows!
notzool
I just can never get over the fact that it was sweet Uncle Joey who turned Alanis Morrisette all angsty. I mean what was he doing off screen?
Kelzen
I mean what was he doing off screen?

Being a really bad person to sit near in movie theatres, I think.

On to a subject that doesn't make me feel physically ill, I finally saw the THS commercial for Full House. I'm now fully convinced that this will be awesome.

Word, Saved by the Bell is another show that I still talk about with friends but lately, it's been more about Full House.

I attended the John Stamos chat yesterday at E! Online. Here are the highlights:

1) He would never do a Full House reunion movie, however he would do a reunion retrospective like the Happy Days 30th Anniversary Reunion show.
2) He had no idea about the THS airing this Sunday but he basically says they will probably talk about the birth of the Olsen empire, Bob Saget being told to keep his dirty jokes to a minimum around the girls, his divorce, but nothing too scandalous he said. The E! site also talks about the show mentioning Candace's struggles as a teenager while being on the show.
3) He says he's grateful to his fans and that Uncle Jesse was the best role he's ever played but it has been a double-edge sword for him.
4) He said when he was on Full House, parents would send him diapers to be autographed.

He really came off as a smart, snarky and funny guy. He even talked about his now ex-wife and how he's doing now.
Becka
A lot of people are calling him Uncle Joey....I thought he wasn't a relative but an old friend of Danny's...is that right and you all are just calling him uncle based on the fact that he's like family or am I wrong and he really IS their uncle?

I agree with the whole thing about not letting them vent about their dead mother and also that this is show is the Brady Bunch of our time.

If every word I said could make you laugh, I'd talk forever....

Joey wasn't related to anybody and the girls didn't call him Uncle Joey, but the "bruddas" did -- or at least Jesse and Becky called him Uncle Joey when they were talking to the boys about him.
hotstepper76
I absolutely love/hate this show. I never see reruns of it anymore. When in college my friend and I would watch countless hours of Full House. We would play a game called who do you hate the most. You had to guess within 1 minute of the show starting who you are going to hate the most. 9 times out of 10 we guessed right. Some days it was Joey, sometimes Stephanie, most of the times it was the two retard twins. I didn't think there could ever be two child actors that horrible, until I started watching 7th Heaven.

I don't know if this has already been done, but what is everyones favourite episode? I love when Kimmy gets drunk and we learn the moral of the story to never, ever, ever drink. Even if you in college. I especially loved how they through the guys out who brought the beer. Through them out of a frat party. Yeah, that's really fucking believable.

Is it just me or does Michelle see to love her Uncle Jesse more than she loves her own father?
popcorn
Wouldn't anyone love Jesse more than Danny? I hated when Jesse and Becky moved out. Michelle gave him her stuffed pig and he gave her his framed wallpaper bunny. You know, the bunny that dead Pam put up for Stephanie, not the little troll. Maybe Steph would have liked it back. Plus Becky gave up her house to live in the attic of her co-worker just so her wussy husband could sing bedtime songs to his niece every night.

Hehe. "Brudder". I hated that.

Yeah, that was pushing it even for this show, I've always thought.

I am enjoying season 1 DVDS. John Posey was a LOT different from Bob Saget, would have made things different. That was 1st time I had seen longer theme song, made sense why they cut it. I enjoyed commentary and Thanksgivng pop up video trivia.

I sure as hell would rather hug Uncle Jesse than than Danny Tanner the Tranny.

Favorite ep- DJ's supposed struggle w/an eating disorder.
Kelzen
Favorite ep- DJ's supposed struggle w/an eating disorder.

Oh, yes. I loved the resolution on that one:

DJ: I've not been eating for a while, because I want to look like the other girls at Kimmy's party.
Danny: [cue heart-wrenching music] DJ, you should come to me with your problems. You need to eat.
DJ: I'm sorry, dad. I was being stupid.
Danny: Passing out is bad. Eating food is good.
DJ: You're right. Let's hug, then eat dinner.

And then she apparently took it back, because later on, she gave it to Teddy when he moved away.

Yeah, that irritated me. I don't remember ever seeing that bunny again.

He would never do a Full House reunion movie

Well, la dee da... look who's all picky now that he has a new sitcom! Old Uncle Hermes really should wait until Jake In Progress has a few seasons in the can before ruling out returning to the only other decent TV show he did.
popcorn
I doubt any of them would do a movie. I could see the cast sitting around the old living room set like the 90210 or Married With Children reunions from a few years ago. Of course, that would probably never happen unless Mary-Kate and Ashley agreed to be there.
jcpdiesel21
I just caught the last half of the episode with Charlie, the kid who was being abused by his father. Is it wrong that I laughed at his "I ran into a door named Dad" line?

That episode also has Michelle calling a 900 number to hear a joke of the day and tormenting her family by repeatedly telling them the lameass jokes. When Danny confronted Michelle with the phone bill, she turned in a complete pain in the ass and said "Daddy's so mean" when he punished her by making her go to bed an hour earlier for a week. Danny should have made her pay for the excess charges out of her allowance. Michelle always gets off easy.
Mennym
It would be interesting if they did do a reunion movie. Ok I know it's not going to happen, but I'd really love to know "what happened next". I just have this image of all those people *still* living all together in that pretty small house. I bet if Steph and DJ married they probably moved their husbands right into the house as well. So at least, how many?, 12 people?
bodwod
They've used the garage and the attic already, I guess they would have to move their new families into the tree house and the boat. Could work.
Clockstomper24
Anyone watch the E! True Hollywood Story? Some of the revelations were surprising, especially the last minute recasting of Danny. It sicks ass what they did to the original (he was driving his stuff to LA when he got the "you're fired" call, for christ's sakes.)
SynSerenity
I watched it. A few things I noticed were that yes, Bob Saget is a creep, and that they focused too much on the Olsens, which made it sorta boring. I personally would've liked to hear more about/from Candace and Jodie.

And I really wish what Dave Cool-yay said was true, that Jodie would have been the star of the show... Oh well. She was better than Mary-Kate and Ashley any day.
limey4
they focused too much on the Olsens, which made it sorta boring

Word! I was watching it with a friend and after the first 45 minutes we both thought the same thing. Everyone already knows what happened (and is still happening) with the twins, they didn't need to spend half of the show recapping it yet again, for America. I was also a littled disappointed about the total lack of Andrea, they didn't mention her or her character (Kimmy) at all. I assume that she must have turned down the chance to be interviewed for the show or they didn't have any old interviews with her to air (since even Scott Weigner was commenting and Kimmy was a much bigger part of the show), but it still sucked.
crazy_girl
I was also disappointed that they focused on the Olsons. we already have a two hour special just about them! I wanted to hear more about Candace & Jodi.

I really really wanted to see Kimmy Gibler but thought the same thing as limey4 that maybe she didn't want to be involved.

I can't believe that Dave essentially let America's Funniest People destory his marriage. I know that didn't say that exactly but I know that if my husband was flying across the country every weekend to do a really crappy unfunny show, I'd be mighty mighty annoyed.
FairyChica78
I watched last night and it was boring for you, if you are/were a hardcore Full House fan like me. The last 30 minutes of the show were unbearable for me to watch as I never cared and will never care for the Olsen twins and I always hated bratty, spoiled Michelle Tanner. I always watched this show to see the hijinks of D.J. and Stephanie as I was half-way between their ages. It was good to see Candace and she seems not as big of a religious nut as her tool of a brother, Kirk. It was nice to see Candace but it would’ve been nice to have seen a more updated interview with Jodie as she was always my favorite. The only thing I didn’t know what that Cool-yay and Saget had been roommates years before doing the show and I thought that kind of interesting. I was hoping they would mention the whole Alanis/Cool-yay thing but no such luck. The one thing that annoyed me was the network cut off the show early as various cast members were responding to the reunion question.

During the THS show, they kept asking various trivia questions about the show and to go E! Online to test your Full House trivia knowledge. I went there and one of the questions were, “During the entire series run, how many times did Mary-Kate and Ashley appear on-screen together?” The answer is 4 times but I can only recall three times.
1) In season one, Jesse dreams that there are two Michelles.
2) Michelle’s Greek family comes to visit and her distant cousin looks exactly like her.
3) In the final episode, when Michelle regains her memory.
Does anyone else know the other time they appeared on-screen together?
MysticalGirl
Wasn't there an episode where Stupid, Bratty Michelle was forbidden to do something, I think mess around in Uncle Jesse's basement studio, and she hallucinated a "Good Michelle" and "Bad Michelle", kind of like cartoon shoulder-angel and -devil?

And then she got caught and yelled at and the smug little brat ran away to Teddy's house, making Jesse and Danny come over and tell her how special and wonderful she was?

I may be conflating a couple of episodes here. But one thing I'm clear on, that child was in serious need of a spanking.
Kelzen
I watched some of the THS last night, and it was pretty boring. I have to say, though, that Bob Saget and Cool-yay seriously skeeved me out.Telling dirty jokes is fine, but repeating them over and over in front of girls as young as the Olsens and Jodi Sweetin is just gross.
rml24601
I personally would've liked to hear more about/from Candace and Jodie.

Me too! But you knew it was gonna turn into the Olsen Show- I think the producer said that kids used to call FH "The Michelle Show"- how fitting that the THS about the show is really about MK & A!

It was good to see Candace and she seems not as big of a religious nut as her tool of a brother, Kirk.

Au contraire

I thought the story about John Stamos' wedding was cute- a plane was flying over head, making your basic "plane" sounds, and Stamos turns around & says "Coulier, is that you?" (apparently Dave had quite the gas problem on the show).
SynSerenity
I HATE the first part of the Disney World episodes. *hateMichellediediedie*

Everytime I see Michelle on Full House, the GNR song "My Michelle" reminds me more and more of her.

At least Steph got a little bit of glory at the end of the second Disney World Episode. :/

Edit: I admit, I did like "Brother For Sale".
popcorn
The ETHS was just a bunch of old interviews thrown together. Maybe the Dave and Bob interviews were new, but I'd seen most all the others on various E! specials already. The only thing I really learned was that Dave married the chick who played grown-up Michelle. That's kind of creepy. Bob's "I want to put a shoebox on my lap and give you a puppet show" joke made me want to rip my eardrums out.

Mary-Kate and Ashley looked cute/healthy in their So Little Time clips. How old were they then? 15-16? One of their later interviews was terrible. They literally could not complete a sentence individually. One of them would choke out a few words, glance at the other one to help her out, and twin #2 would finish up the sentence. It's cutesy when twins/couples finish sentences once in a while, but it looked like neither one of them could form a complete thought.
Mine All Mine
I was also a littled disappointed about the total lack of Andrea, they didn't mention her or her character (Kimmy) at all. I assume that she must have turned down the chance to be interviewed for the show or they didn't have any old interviews with her to air (since even Scott Weigner was commenting and Kimmy was a much bigger part of the show), but it still sucked.

I was disappointed too. I'd love to know what Kimmy Gibbler is up to.

I also noticed they didn't do a "where are they now" for the "bruddahs" either.
queenfrostine
I stopped watching the THS with thirty minutes to go because it was ALL Olsens. I hated how the producer/writer/whoever it was kept saying that all the fans LOVED Michelle, and there wasn't anybody who didn't think she was adorable. Clearly, he has no idea what America likes, for I believe he also said people enjoyed the "moral lesson/cue the sappy music" part of the show.

I took the E! FH quiz they've got up, and I got 9/10 (embarrassed? proud?), because apparently I underestimate the vast riches of the Olsens.

I was also a littled disappointed about the total lack of Andrea, they didn't mention her or her character (Kimmy) at all.

Me too. I was really hoping she'd be a part of it.
kakistos
Thanks for the warnngs on how much of the show was wasted on the Olsens. I pretty much fast forwarded through the last half an hour. I just want to know why they kept repeating the same information about them over and over again. They should have cut the lenght if they didn't hav anything intresing to show.
boomersmommy
I can't believe that Dave essentially let America's Funniest People destory his marriage.

I can't believe I never knew that he married the girl who played the grown-up Michelle in the episode where the guys are having that nightmare that the girls will never leave and they'll be waiting on them hand and foot (even though I found it more disturbing that the three guys would still be living together as old men) forever and Kimmy Gibler grew up hot. Something about the fact that his wife played a version of Michelle, adult or not, makes him seem all pervy again and I was just about to get over that because I kinda like the guy.

Joey hookin' up with Michelle -- see -- that sounds wrong, even though it was just Dave marrying the actress who played adult Michelle.
giamaria
I was disappointed too. I'd love to know what Kimmy Gibbler is up to.

I found a website a long time ago (I can't remember the name of it) that was about Full House and what everybody was doing now. It said that the girl who played Kimmy Gibler lives in Europe, I believe it was Germany, and that was all the info. She obviously wasn't interested in pursuing any more acting or celebritydom for whatever reason, which is strange because she seemed like a really natural performer. FH must have scared her out of Hollywood.
