Has there ever been a character name E.J. on Full House? I need to know about this.

Anyway, If I want to have an anueryism or see my appendix go BOOM, I'll watch Full House.
queenfrostine
The DVD set is only $20, but I too don't want to blemish my DVD collection with this show. Maybe I'll buy it cheap on eBay and hide it somewhere, because secretly, I really want to see all the scenes that have been cut in syndication.
Phenobarbara
The episode where their Greek cousins first visit is on now.

Hated this episode. Absolutely could not stand it. How many stupid, inaccurate, and silly stereotypes of "foreigners" did they throw in there? Yeah, D.J. walks around a table and she's married. WTF? And the clothes they were wearing, come on. They looked like characters from It's A Small World.
lewaf
So does he look cute for his age now or is it one of those looked better as a pre-teen?  I'm guessing he's quite cute b/c as we all know every gay teen is a strikingly handsome guy who is flawless in all aspects, b/c lord knows there are no non-attractive gay guys out there.  Trust me on this.

Go to Guerneville during Lazy Bear weekend. Your mind will be forever changed...
gracie18
The episode where Michelle keeps causing trouble and DJ and Stephanie keep getting punished for it (of course) was on today. My GOD!!!! I HATE that episode. I am sorry, but Danny was a twit. A no-good twit. Michelle starts a pillow fight. DJ and Stephanie get into trouble because Danny's little princess doesn't know any better. Bullshit. That little devil knew that she had those three guys wrapped around her finger and every episode she tightened the strings. That episode marked the beginning of the Michelle Show and everything went downhill from there
HappilyEvrAftr
That episode makes me so angry. I have two younger sisters, and the youngest one tends to act like Michelle, and she gets away with it - just like what happens in that episode. It makes me upset just thinking about it.
emzily
Word! I always got in trouble for the stuff my younger sisters did. Today I was watching the episode where Michelle is repeating everything Stephanie says. My sisters use to do that too. It's the most annoying thing in the entire world! Die, Michelle! Die! On the other hand Michelle repeating Stephanie's lines is not quite as annoying as her sitting around saying nothing but "You got it dude!" and "Owce cream!" and "I wuv you...."

In other news, I was reading the Full House trivia on IMDB. They said that Ashley had a freckle above her lip when she was younger so that's one way to tell the difference. I have watched three episodes this weekend and I didn't see a freckle. Has anyone else spotted this?
Shell76
I've read about Ashley's freckle (nicer name for mole in this case), but I'm sure it was always hidden with makeup, so I never bothered looking. I bought the DVD's a few days ago and one of the things I did was see how often the twins switched places, which was quite a bit. M-K got the DVD cover, though. To tell them apart, Ash has puffier cheeks and very round, closer-together eyes.

I was sick this weekend, so I watched 2 of the discs so far. My god, I felt 9 years old again, it was quite nostalgic. It's nice to see the early years, before all the Michelle-centric storylines ruined the show. I liked DJ a lot back in Seas. 1 since we're about the same age, but watching now, I can't stand her. She bitched about everything. Steph was adorable, though, and Michelle I'll admit.

For any of you who have seen the uncut "First Day of School" episode, were you as shocked as I was when Jesse described his "first time", with a college-age woman, when he was 14 or 15? I almost fainted, it was the most un-Full House moment ever. No wonder that part got cut from syndication.

WHAAAAAAAT? I'm 99% positive that there was never any direct mention of sex or anything even close on that show, so that would've been mighty disturbing to hear and would definitely be out of place. Yuck.

So, the DVD is worth it? Are they all uncut episodes? Is there a lot of unseen material? I'm debating buying it, my only real objection is that I'm sure it'll be on TV in syndication forever so I wonder if there really is a need to own it...but I do love owning TV shows on DVD and this show was my #1 favorite as a kid. And it would be cool to see the original pilot without Bob Saget.
emzily
Isn't there the one episode where Joey tells Michelle that Jesse and Becky are upstairs "doing their taxes" and they will be "doing their taxes every night for the first couple of months?"

What I don't get is why have them switch places during episodes? It would seem to make more sense to have one twin do one whole ep and then have the other do the next. Am I missed something here?

If M-K got the DVD cover, who got the credits?
Shell76

That's what I thought, too, but there's some weird rule that infants can only be on the set for like 2 min. per hour or something. So if they waste 2 min. trying to get M-K to react a certain way, they have another 2 min. with Ashley. I can understand the switching when there were younger, but I expected them to do entire episodes themselves when they got to be 5 or 6, which didn't happen. I heard Ashley did one episode all by herself when M-K was sick, but I have yet to find out which one. I think M-K got the DVD cover because she was on camera the most. Both are credited at the end only.

Buying the DVD's was very much worth it, since I never get to see the show on TV. They only cost $20 which is very good compared to the near $40 I spend for "The Simpsons" DVD's. The bonuses are pretty weak, the only decent one is the original pilot with John Posey, which is kind of frightening for some reason. It makes me appreciate Bob Saget's work on the show.
Hailey
First off, Stephanie most certainly has giant fake boobies. Yikes!

It was, however, lovely to see the entire cast show up for the wedding. Even both Olsons looking healthy and not knocking on death's poorly dressed door. Aw, they really were like a family.
bodwod
It makes me appreciate Bob Saget's work on the show.

Now this I have to see!
tonkacat
I had to go back to page 103 to find this:
how DO you tell the Olsens apart onscreen?

Miss Aquarius

How to tell the twins apart
They also have differences in their voices, especially when they were younger. I think it was Mary-Kate who spoke in a slightly lower tone.

Ivana Tinkle

Ashley has fuller lips
Ashley is right handed, MK is left
Ashley has bigger, rounder eyes
Ashley has a fuller face

LookSee
I couldn't tell the twins apart until someone pointed it out to me that Mary-Kate is more "foxy"/model-esque (eg. tilting head, bedroom eyes, etc) looking while Ashley is usually more smiley and happy looking. Of course, this only applies to them now, not when they were kids

Shell76
Ashley - darker hair, squeakier voice that cracked a lot, closer together eyes. She's like the "cute, innocent" Michelle

Mary-Kate - lower voice, had a speech impediment for a few years (the word "sure" becomes "show"), has wider-set, oval-shaped eyes. To me, she's the "smartass, moody" Michelle. She played the part almost entirely by herself for the 1st season.

The girls switch places pretty often, sometimes after each line when they were little (Jesse and Becky's wedding). When they got older, they took turns each scene. So, Michelle in the kitchen might be M-K, but in the next scene with Michelle now in the bedroom, it's probably Ashley.

Yes, I do have OCD, why do you ask?
idreamofpeace
I admit, I got the dvds. That was my favorite show in grade school and it was cheap! I was ill last week and watched the whole season. It was so cute! Jodie Sweetin was an amazing little actress... And the funny thing? There are a lot more sexual innuendos than I'd ever imagined. A lot.
Amber4481
I remember in elementary school that if you came in the day after Full House aired and you hadn't seen it than you might as well not even go to lunch, because that was the only thing there was to talk about.

Has anyone else ever noticed that when they need to show a car or boat (Bullet in particular) the park the damn thing in the back yard? Get a driveway already.
fiendishthingy
babybluez, jelly is considered dessert? As in, peanut butter and jelly? Or do you use "jelly" differently than Americans, sort of like how "jumper" means something different in the US and UK?

Jello, to us Americans. Who says Neopets isn't educational?

On topic, now ... there have been a lot of creepy, skeevy FH moments discussed here, but I don't believe anyone mentioned the way Jesse's mother constantly grabbed his ass whenever she came to visit. "Not the tushie, Ma!" Ew, ew, and ew.

That's so funny - I'd completely forgotten about that! They are mostly linked to mullet!Jesse, I imagine?
The only thing I remember concerning sexual innuendos is that I was shocked when watching an episode in one of the later seasons in which Joey mentions something about salmon "making love". I was all "Cool-Yay! Shh!" Heh. Nothing like Full House to make a prude out of you.

Word. That was disturbing.
Halfpint Ingals
Thanks to you guys, I ordered season 1 yesterday. I look foward to extras, especially the 1st pilot. And yea, FH was more racier it's 1st season.
FairyChica78
I bought the season one DVD's last week and had a chance to watch some episodes last night. I watched the episode where cousin Steve (played by Kirk Cameron) came to visit the family. First off, I didn't even know Danny had an older sister. They implied it was Danny's sister's kid because Danny said cousin Steve's father had moved out. I know he had a younger sister (the zoologist) who came to visit years later but she wouldn't have been old enough to be cousin Steve's mother.
Anyways, I kept cracking up when Kimmy kept slapping Steve on the ass, and when Danny introduced Michelle to cousin Steve, the look on baby Michelle's face was priceless. She just looked absolutely repulsed by him. That's the same reaction I would have today if I met Kirk Cameron for the asshat he is.
Phenobarbara
You guys are making me want to buy the DVDs! Please, stop! It's bad enough I still watch the reruns and come here and talk about them.

Having said that, I'm off to Amazon.com to see about buying those...
bodwod
Well, they're so cheap and all and I have a birthday coming up and if Mr Bodwod should happen to buy them for me as a gift then it wouldn't technically be my fault and I could own them without shame because I didn't actually buy them for myself. When I say, 'without shame' I still don't think I'd be displaying them on my bookshelf so there may be a bit of shame in there.
queenfrostine
Ha, bodwod, that's the exact same logic I think I'll use when my birthday comes up. Of course, my birthday isn't for 7 months, so I might cave before then.
MaggieMooster
You know....I'll have to admit today's episode with the love letter, family picnic, and Rusty was kind of clever. I would have to say it's one of my favorite FH episodes. Afterall, once or twice I have sung to my own father "boring, boring....why is my daddy so boring..."

Thank you Full House for that catchy and useful jingle....

By the way, was the disappearance of Cindy and Rusty ever explained??
idreamofpeace
And yea, FH was more racier it's 1st season.

I think they were still figuring out who their target audience was during the first season, thinking they could appeal to adults as well as kids.

I think that was my favorite season. I don't remember what happened to Cindy, but I loved the Rusty aspect of the show. I really think they should've tried the step-brother thing/Danny remarried thing, that would've led to a lot of good plots because out of all the episodes, I clearly remember Rusty the troublemaker ones, so that's gotta stand for something.

Speaking of the boat, did they ever use it? Because I have no recollection of any episodes where it served it's real purpose.
ChinkyGirl
Well, the boat served as the stage for a very poignant moment between Michelle and Jesse when Papouli died. <gag> ;)
dawsnzchck
Hee! I was thinking the exact same thing.
Phenobarbara
Yesterday,I watched the episode where Stephanie has to get glasses. She's traumatized by the idea, as most young kids are at that age. So, you'd think her dad would take her to get some cool, nice looking frames. Nope. Joey takes her, and gets her those gigantic frames that do not look good on her. I always hated that episode. Stupid Joey.
Ms. Dementor
You know, Phenobarbara, when I first got my glasses, I was around Stephanie's age and had the same anxiety. So what glasses did I PERSONALLY pick? That's right -- big ass pink frames that looked horrible on me. So I can buy that one. They were all the rage in those days (I think I got mine the same year she did on the show).

John Stamos is in this month's issue of Jane Magazine. There's a smokin hot picture of him, and a story that well. Hmm. It's very interesting. Very interesting. Also, I got the DVD's too (actually the guy I'm seeing bought them for me- Catch 22!) The guys are hella cooler then. Little Steph was so adorable, and Michelle was mute- so it ruled. Also, the episode with Kirk Cameron was cool. Kirk ruled before he got all religious.
Corbinxxa84

My favorite part of that episode was the crappy popsicle stick thing Michelle brought home for Papouli the day he died. In my mind, I hear the booming voice of God saying, "Papouli DIED because you made him a bad gift! You're a bad girl Michelle! A VERY bad girl!"
Charlotte

The February issue or the March? I've got the February issue and I can't find him in there.

March, Penelope Cruz is on the cover.

I love how he answered the question "Celebrity you most want to make out with" with Jerry O'Connel. His ex wife's boyfriend. Quite the snarky one.

I had the ultimate hate for Rusty.

On ABC Family, today's episode was when Stephanie ruined a moment between DJ and this guy (guest star, David Lascher). So DJ persuaded Danny, Jesse, and Joey to let her move into Michelle's room so she can have some privacy (after all, she's a high schooler), and have Michelle and Stephanie share a room. Then Michelle tells Stephanie she doesn't want to room with her, devastating Steph.

Okay episode, and I liked that Stephanie moved into the upstairs bathroom, even making the tub her bed.

My favorite episode (which aired last night) was when Stephanie and DJ went into Danny's room to borrow a shirt, but they both get into a fight and a hole gets put in the wall. DJ and Steph fix the hole, move all the furniture over an inch to cover the hole (and to prevent Danny from realizing everything was touched). After they're done, Danny catches them in his room, and they explain it away by saying they needed inspiration for a song they were writing about him.

Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad
He's our Dad.
He's got a nice room.
He keeps it clean.
With a mop and a broom.
He's our Dad!

It surprised me that they never got caught for the hole. At the end of the episode, Danny just wants to know who touched the baking soda in his sock draw.

This is no fun, no fun
Looking at da wah-ahl

Or the classic...
Boring, boring
Why is my daddy so boring?

I seriously watch this show too much.

The hole in the wall is one of my faves but my other fave is the one when Stephanie "loses" Mr. Bear thanks to bratty Michelle.
Phenobarbara
the one when Stephanie "loses" Mr. Bear thanks to bratty Michelle.

And if I remember correctly, weren't the grownups basically telling Stephanie to get over it? Then it dawned on them that Stephanie is attached to the bear because it was given to her by her mother. Actually, it didn't dawn on them...I think they watched home movies and saw Pam give Stephanie the bear? Maybe I'm remembering it wrong. In any case, the grownups were behaving like insensitive shitheels.
HappilyEvrAftr

I don't know why, but my absolute favorite part of that episode is how they don't get caught. Can't explain it. Might be one of my favorite parts of the entire series.
Nflux Forever

Might have to do with how lamely DJ and Stephenie tried covering for it and STILL got away with it. Danny Tanner is hardly a member of MENSA but he should have been able figure out that something was up as soon as he heard that song. And who could forgot Michelle's cries of "He's Coming! He's Coming!" Ew, that sounds so dirty. I think might have just grossed myself out typing that.
Pointe3579

It sounds like one of those things that somehow only happen in TV land and not in real life. I too was surprised at how dumb Danny was in that whole situation.
Charlotte
Remember that episode where Jesse doesn't want the twins to be playing with Michelle's doll, Baby Love Button? Ew, were the writers trying to screw with us or what? Don't they know what a love button is?!
BrightEyes87
Ewwwwwwwwwwwww.
I, too, loved the hole-in-the-wall episode, if only for the dad song and the fact that they never got caught.
Oz37

Well Danny did tell the girls he realized something was up, but because he was in such a good mood, he'd let it slide. In real life, Danny still would have realized that all the furniture had been moved, but it's television.
Charlotte
I just read that thing with John Stamos in Jane. Ugh, what a skeezy bastard.
abcabc1982
Hey, does anyone else know about E! True Hollywood Story doing a show on Full House? It's supposed to air March 13 at 8:00. Has this ever been on before? Who cares, I'm taping it!
Kelzen
Okay, I am so watching that.
Phenobarbara
There's going to be a THS on Full House?? I am so there. So. Unbelievably. There.
cinaminsweet281
Wouldn't miss it for ANYTHING. Not even a new episode of Desperate Housewives if there is one.
