De-lurking to say "hell yeah!" on the DVD's!
TV Shows on DVD has more details in terms of what extras will be on the DVD set. The unaired pilot with a different Danny Tanner should be interesting. Too bad there's no actor commentary...only creator commentary.
I've been a fan of Full House since day one when I was 8 years old and watched it even into high school. I remember standing in line for 3 hours to meet Candace Cameron-Bure and Jodie Sweetin at my local mall shortly before the series ended. I also ran into Bob Saget and John Stamos (who's filming a new TV pilot) within days of each other two weeks ago in L.A. Never seen the Olsen twins...nor do I really care since I hated Michelle and have had my fill of Olsen twins for life thanks to my babysitting days.

On tonight's episode, when Jesse was going to his ten year reuinion, did Kimmy said he had been out of high school longer than she had been alive? Because she looks a bit older than ten in this episode. Just saying.
And I am so buying the DVDs. I wish they were coming out in time for Christmas, but I'll just have to consider them an early birthday present to myself.
ETA: Did they forget about the Jesse goes to his High School Reunion episode when they did the Jesse never graduated from High School episdoe?

For me the scariest part of the DVD's is that Cool-Yay looks kind of cute. Not in that incarnation, mind you, but if they were to start shooting the show tomorrow, and he didn't have the hideous starter mullet, and I didn't know that he was Dave Cool-Yay, I could see him being attractive. Wow.

Cool-yay is actually the coolest of the guys in the current Surreal Life house on VH1...and I never thought I'd rank Cool-yay above Jordan Knight, but Jordan is SUCH a girl. *sigh*

I am ashamed to admit that despite "Joey's" annoyance in the show, and despite the Alanis Morrisette brouhaha ("You Oughta Know" and "Under Rug Swept" written about her underage relationship with Cool-yay which is apparently ok in Canda as mentioned in previous posts) he is actually (gulp) LIKEABLE on Surreal Life. Like, genuinely seems like a good person.
Of course, all of them seemed likeable in the E! True Hollywood Story for Full House. I mean, as the guys said they always tell you in show business to never work with children and animals because they always upstage you. Given that neither Coolyay or Saget were "the cute guy" and they were surrounded by children and animals, you'd have to be a patient (and somewhat humble) person to put yourself in that situation.
Oh, and because Coolyay seemed ok on Surreal Life, and totally obnoxious and unlikeable on FH, I must conclude that it is the writers fault that Joey was so completely annoying. I mean, first of all, they brought us the character of "Michelle", the Plinky Plunky Music of Life, the stupid 'lessons', the lack of parenting... so SHAME WRITERS! SHAME!
But the mullet? That was all Coolyay. And I blame him for it. (However, what hair stylist on set said "Yeah, a mullet... GO WITH THAT!"? And Bidderman had a cheesy horrible ponytailed mullet... Bad stylist!)
Of course Bidderman's classic moment with Kimmy is when Kimmy said "What fer lunch, Bidderman?" Oh that Kimmy. Loved her.

did Kimmy said he had been out of high school longer than she had been alive?
I think she said that Jesse started high school before she was alive, which would make her about 14, which fits because they recently aired the episode where DJ stops eating to fit into a bathing suit for Kimmy's 14th birthday party.
I wonder if the Olsen not on the box is insulted or relieved...
I think Mary-Kate's the one not on the box this time around. Sad that I gave it some thought...
I wonder if they're going to have the extended theme version and not have the syndicated version for FH? On my Punky Brewster dvds, they played the long version but I think if you selected "Play All" it would then alternate with the shorter syndicated versions for the remaining episodes, something like that. I can't check -- they were taken away from me due to excessive overplay. :(
But something like that on the FH dvds would be cool.

I accidently turned to a student TV show on a local access channel the other day and there was a show where Michelle was a serial killer and she was offing all of the other FH castmates. Each of them gave their signature catch phrase when they were dying. Michelle was going to kill Joey with a butcher knife. He said ''cut it out" and she sliced him up and took out his insides. It was pretty interesting.

Wait, "Under Rug Swept" is about Coulier??? I thought it was about someone in the music business -- that makes no sense!
My "favorite" episode has to be the one where DJ starts HS and is dressed exactly like the teacher everyone hates, and then decides to get all tarted up in order to fit in with the cool girls. Kimmy also uses balloons to make her chest bigger. Then at the end, they take over the cool table, after all.
I also liked Steve a lot. Can't help it -- he's the voice of Alladin! I loved when he came back to take DJ to the prom :-)
Did we ever meet Cathy Santoni, or was she just the slutty girl that was forever stealing DJ's boyfriends, only to wind up pregnant later on to facilitate a Daddy-Daughter moment for DJ and Danny?

My favorite would have to be the "Dr. Dare" episode. It has Scott Baio!
Awesome. But the best part is when he makes his entrance, and you can hear the collective orgasm of the teenage girls in the FH audience. Other than that, it was preachy and cheesy, but not overtly so; just how I like my eighties sitcoms.

No, he was her cousin Steve, who had been like her best buddy. She looked up to him and they used to hang out a lot but he had grown up and wanted to hang out with the "guys" (Jesse, Joey, and Danny -- I have no idea why he'd want to hang with them but he did). She was really jealous and hurt, blah, blah, blah. This is the episode where DJ makes an ass of herself when they play football.

She was in both of those and also the one where D.J. organizes the school dance with Uncle Jesse and the marching band. It's the one where D.J. is "caught" with the beer.
I actually thought Alanis' "Hands Clean" was another song about Coulier and not "Under Rug Swept." Right?
Speaking of favorite episodes, my fave as a kid was the one where D.J. started junior high because I was about the same age at the time. Now, my fave episode has to be the one where Stephanie "loses" Mr. Bear. Only to find that bratty Michele stole Mr. Bear and hid him. It was nice to see the "home video" of Pam bringing home baby Michelle though.

My least favorite episode is half of the ones towards the end of the series where there are 8,000 people living in the house. Oh and that annoying rich guy DJ dated with the scary lips. He creeps me out. He creeped me out on that show with the Torkelsons, he creeps me out now. He just seems smarmy. I never wanted him to kiss anyone. Sorry. Personal problem. I also hated the one with the extremely fake looking ostrich that Uncle Jesse tussled with. I hated alot of the later ones.
On the flip side, I loved the episode where Jesse became the IQ man and Stamos and Coulier broke character and they left it in. It also had Shirtless!TowelClad!John!Stamos! which was pretty cool. Though, they promised before the commercial break that he would be wearing a washcloth (the ad lady held it up and said "you'll be wearing THIS!") and then after the commercial he was in a regular long towel. My hormonal 12 yr old self thought that was a cheap fakeout and wasn't fair. I still do!
Oh and word, the Scott Baio one rocked. Also any of the ones where Michelle isn't talking. I loved DJ and Stephanie wrecking Danny's room, Jesse does a dance video, Becky bids for Jesse at the bachelor auction, DJ & Steve breaking up, DJ's first day of junior high, DJ has an eating disorder, Stephanie has the dream about dancing ("I'm living my childhoooood ambiiiitiooons throouuuuugh youuuu") and then Motown Philly, Stephanie goes to the makeout party, Kimmy gets drunk! (can't be said enough how well they did this, they never explored Kimmy & Dj's friendships enough).
I basically liked any episode that focused on Becky & Jesse (pre-birth of hellspawn with mushroom hair), DJ at school/kissing boys/hanging with Kimmy, Stephanie.. basically any of the "growing up" episodes.
Notice no Michelle. No Joey. Uh. Yeah.

I can't really think of specific favorite epps., but I love the "Oat Boats" ep. from Season 1 - it's one of a handful episodes I always miss. Can't wait till the DVD comes out so I can finally see it again. All of my faves, except the Motownphilly one, were from the first 4 seasons. Back to the DVD, I hope the uncut episodes will be on there. In the Oat Boats ep., there was a scene with DJ comparing resumes with a snobby showbiz girl at the audition. Danny had also forgot to bring a headshot of DJ, since he didn't have a clue how the whole thing worked. I've seen the ep. a few times in syndication and this segment has been cut every time.
Just a note on Cathy Santoni, I discovered last year that the same actress (Anne Marie McEvoy) played little Sarah in the original Children of the Corn. She hasn't really done anything since Full House, though.

Nick at Nite just showed the episode where D.J. and Stephanie punch a hole in Danny's wall. Two things struck me:
1 - When Michelle recited her phone number, they blanked out one of the digits: 555-_424. It happened twice, so it's no mistake. Isn't the whole point of using 555 that they don't have to do that?
2 - D.J. and Stephanie didn't get caught! No talking-to from an adult with sappy music playing! How many episodes are there where any of the girls get away with something with no consequences?

Oh, just thought of another not favorite. The episode where Joey wrestles with Uncle Jesse. It actually happened, I'm not making this up. It was when Joey was sorta big and he had a big ole mullet. It was so gross. It's amazing how much of an improvement Coolyay is now compared to then. Huh. He's still no John Stamos though.

555 is an actual exchange these days. The number Michelle recited is somebody's phone number. Those people don't want to get crank calls. Numbers beginning with 555–01 are the ones that are fictitious.

*Ahem* Actually, those were the exact ages of myself and my husband when we first met.
However I was very mature for my age and we had tons of the same interests, philosophies, etc. The girl Danny dated acted like she was about 14 and the only thing they had in common was that she was hot and he was lonely and horny. So, yeah, there was a big ick factor in that episode for me, too, because of how she seemed so much younger and you knew the only reason he was interested, and OH MY GOD what on earth did a cute young thing like that see in that geek?
I did like the ending, though, where he's sitting in the kitchen, soulfully strumming his guitar and singing, "Young girl, get outta my mind...." Bwah.

What's pathetic is that Danny was *33*, about ten years ahead of the typical mid-life crisis. I guess that's the drawback of marrying and having kids really young--DJ was about to graduate junior high, making her 13/14, which means he had to be about 19/20 when she was born.
How odd that on a show featuring three girls, there was never an episode about that all-so-important female rite of passage?

It's just as well, IMO, though you're right - it IS weird. Danny probably just never brought it up and hoped that if he ignored it, he'd never have to deal with it. And if he did, he'd probably think up some creative uses for Lysol for his "unsanitary" daughters.

In answer to the question about favorite episodes...
...I loved the episode where Becky's favorite professor comes back to visit, and he continually refers to Jesse as "Jackie."
-They all come back from a lobster restaurant, Jesse says "I ate so much lobster, I'm sweatin' buttah," and the professor says "I hope you didn't ruin your best t-shirt."
-Jesse misspeaks when rattling off book titles, the professor says Jesse must have inadvertently transposed the titles, and Jesse answers no, he transposed them "quite vertently." To this day, I still use "quite vertently."
-Jesse says he's afraid Becky is going to leave him for "some guy who's written a book ... or read one."
-The professor asks where exactly Jesse when to college, and he answers "Back East. Waaay back East." *pause* "They're closed now." And the professor answers, "I can see why."
BTW, professor was played by "Chip" from Happy Days, later seen on "Married w/Children," etc.
Also, in the episode where DJ was trying to win a radio contest and needed to identify the song the disc jockey (can't use "DJ" here twice!) was playing, I thought it was odd she couldn't identify the Beach Boys' "Help Me, Rhonda," despite the family's ongoing affiliation with the group. I have to admit, "Help Me, Gibbler" was funny.
Finally, does anyone remember when Uncle Jesse was trying to get the Beach Boys to take his demo tape with them, and whenever they said they didn't have it, he said "Check your pocket!" -- and it would be in there??

Wordy McWord. Gotta hate that 7th Heaven. Still, I can easily imaging an episode of FH with DJ or Stephanie being embarrassed about buying a bra or tampons or something. It would have been a golden opportunity for the producers to do a Becky-and DJ/Stephanie scene with lots of saccharine music and hugs and "you can always come to me with your problems"'s. In fact I can't believe they'd miss out on a chance like that!
My favourite episode, hm... I haven't seen the show since I was a 11 or something, but I remember liking the one where Stephanie and a buddy of hers double-date with DJ and then Stephanie kisses the boy who gets all "ewww!" and Stephanie wishes that the earth would swallow her up. I thought it was a nice and realistic setting and liked it a lot better than the DJ/Kevin/first-kiss episode.

And they only had three bathrooms, I think. One was in Jesse's old room (with the pink bunnies), one was in the attic (I think), and one was the communal family one with the carpeting. That leaves only one bathroom for the three girls and Danny to use. I'd be fairly annoyed if I were one of the girls and all these random people were using up valuable bathrooms, not to mention bedrooms.

Michelle and Teddy sneak there with them in the backseat of the car
Just thinking about that episode...how is it that the girls were left unattended so many times? For a show that's based on having 2 extra people move in to help raise the kids, it seems there were an awful lot of times the girls were able to sneak out or in and not be stopped. Maybe they were caught later, but still...

Michelle wasn't caught til she got to the restaurant and Danny saw her. Back at home, Joey, DJ, and Stephanie were cooking a special dinner for Jesse and Becky (this is just after they get home from the hospital with the twins) and they take care of the babies while Jesse and Becky are having dinner. So no one ever notices that Michelle or Teddy (who was over there playing with Michelle) are missing. Danny at least calls home from the restaurant to tell them.

Michelle and Teddy in the backseat belongs in the class with the episode of Michelle and Stephanie stowing away on the flight to New Zealand. Two of the most boneheaded things a kid can do, and yet she gets in no trouble. And to top it off in this show today, Danny admitted to having the situation be partially his fault. I have scanned my 33 years of memories and nowhere can I find either one of my parents even remotely hinting to having any fault in anything I did. But it's fun to imagine.....

No house is so badly designed that it has NO bathroom at all on the first floor. I'm pretty sure there was at least a half-bath down there. I think it was somewhere around the laundry room.
God, how low have we sunk? Debating bathroom placement in the house. I need a shower.
