Goddamn, I must have forgotten all about that cheesy line. Oh, how I wish that was the episode where Michelle got amnesia, leaving her wandering the streets of San Francisco while her father is attempting to sell the house. He sells the house with no problem (Michelle isn't around to stop him, after all), and they all move out with the quickness.
When Michelle comes to, she returns "home" to the new crime syndicate (because I'm convinced that guy is a mobster, lol) that has set up shop at her pwuh-ecious home. Because Michelle has found out about the gang's hideout, they must kill her. Nobody cares to look for Michelle because they're all just so glad she wasn't around to interfere for once, and they've just purchased a new loft apartment for ALL of them to live in, you know, so they can be even closer. Fin.

The most disturbing part of the episode of course was seeing Joey in the bathtub. What about censorship ? Isn't there laws against that sort of stuff ?
Yea, Michelle was at her worst that show. I had the same thoughts. Grow up, child. Let your uncle and his family get their own home, own yard, and some freedom. You can visit, they can visit. And 3 girls AND Joey sharing one bathroom ?? SO wrong. Yall need room. Plus they would have had 2 x as much money, that would have been awesome for family.
Of course, I can not see the actor without seeing him as John Allen Hill saying Sammm on Cheers.
Edited to change spelling.

I think the episodes I like the most were when Stephanie was older. I'm about her age, so I always felt the "connection" with her role. lol. I liked the episodes when Michelle was a baby also. Because she looked cute (baby's are always cute) and because she DIDN'T TALK! I also didn't understand the Counting Crows epi. Who in the hell would let their little daughter go to a concert like that even if she was with her older sis?!?!

I'd pay to watch that. Yeah, I loved the inevitable music at the end while Danny or somebody reveals the moral of the episode. So riveting. So moving. (Vomit)
Another cheesy moment was when Uncle Jesse gets married and is getting ready to move out and he and Michelle share a tearful goodbye in her room. The tears on both of them are
so unbelievably fake. They smiled and hugged, and literally two seconds later, they are shown with big tears on their cheeks. LOL.

Now that I watch that Jesse and Michelle episode, all I can do is laugh. Another I hate Michelle moment, was when she was going through her politeness week phase, and near the end, she grabbed Stephanie's cupcake. I really wanted to slap her durning that. God, how hard is it to get your own? Stupid little troll.

There were quite a few episodes where Michelle was portrayed as "Law Enforcement Agent of the Week". The politeness week thing was one, and yet another was when DJ was studying for SATs and she came in with the twins babbling something about safety. Who the hell writes this crap?

I remember this one. Michelle said she was the safety police or something and the twins were her "deputies". Kimmi's jacket was on a lamp and could start a fire, so Michelle gave her a "ticket" (i.e. a post-it note with a frowny-face).

I don't know why, but I always thought she was a weird looking baby. I think they are currently prettier than they were as young'ns. I just think people get more beautiful with age.
and because she DIDN'T TALK!
I gotta agree with ya here. Though, even when she didn't talk, she found a way to make me mad. As I said in an earlier post, I always hated how the staff of FH made her look all smart because she reacted to whatever the bonehead men said to her right on cue, even though any moron with a quarter of a brain
knew that someone was telling her (O.S.) what to do. The camera would cut and you would see Michelle looking in a totally different direction than where the adult was standing.

Who in the hell would let their little daughter go to a concert like that even if she was with her older sis?!?!
[OT]When I was about 14 or 15, I took my little sister to see her then-favorite band...PRODIGY. We were by ourselves. I am guessing Counting Crows' show was a bit more tame(okay, I'm HOPING it was more tame), so it's not entirely out of the question in my eyes that they thought it was okay for Michelle to go as long as she was with DJ. Of course, MY little sister wasn't a nutcase, she actually liked the band, and she listened to me when I told her to do/not do stuff. So, Michelle Tanner, she was not.[/OT]
By the way,
ChinkyGirl, they need to hire you to write the FH reunion special!!! The house eppy is one of my least favorites. You don't let a child, who obviously has no concept of money -- and for that matter, no concept of privacy(but really, who can blame her, being raised in THAT house?!) make decisions on the living accommodations for 8 other people!

So I've been watching the reruns of the first season eps this week, which I think was one of the better seasons. In the "Oat Boats" episode I noticed a line that was interesting- when Danny turns to one-year-old Mary Kate or Ashley and says "Don't ever go into acting." That line has a whole new meaning considering the mega-stars the Olsens are now, and it made the line a lot funnier than it was back in 1987.
And the ep when Joey gives up on comedy to become a wall-street business tycoon- I didn't know it was that easy to become a business executive. Don't you have to go to business school or something? What the hell did Joey put on his resume? "I've been doing Popeye and Bullwinkle impressions for 10 years, and I really love Lee Iacocca!" "You're hired!"
The fact that Joey was being showered with job offers always makes me laugh (and a lot more than his painfully unfunny comedy routine). But then again, maybe in the '80s it was that easy to get a job.
Phenobarbara, I've noticed too that 1st season Stephanie is wearing earring studs in almost every episode. I don't think she had them in later seasons, so maybe the writers just forgot about them ( or thought viewers would forget). Slight continuity error there.

Who cannot remember Kimmy Gibbler on this show? Long, lanky, weird clothes-wearing, weird food-eating, smelly feet-having Kimmy. I thought Andrea Barber was funny as Kimmy and coming across the show yesterday on NaN, my siblings and I were wondering what happened to her.
Sad as I am, I was trying to tell which twin was which yesterday on FH. I can tell them apart now (sadly it has to do with MK's issues now), but still. It's funny how they're fraternal, but look so identical. Ah, genetics.

I was out of town for three weeks and am trying to catch up. Love that this thread has been humming along the whole time!
Speaking of him though, someone else has mentioned this, but don't you all find it incredibly irritating that Jesse seemed to hate little Stephanie, yet had some kinda bond with Michelle?
You know, I never even thought of this until I read that line. But now, reaching back into the recesses of my memory....you are right! I can't immediately bring to mind any warm, fuzzy, diabetic-coma-inducingly sweet moments between Jesse and Steph -- not the way he had them with Michelle and even DJ. That is really weird. I don't recall them interacting much at all, except in those cases when two of the girls were having a dispute and two of the guys interceded. And then it seems like Jesse was always on Michelle's or DJ's side and Steph was left with whichever other boob happened to stumble in at that moment.
you can hug him, you can bug him, you could buy or rent...
Yeah, I'm 22. I feel your pain, Cookie55.
Wanna see something even worse? I will be
30 in a couple months. *Clearing throat* Hey, would anybody like to buy one slightly used big brother? Even if you have one now, trade him for another!
I'm so ashamed.
Another "I hate Michelle" ep was on the other night - the one where D.J. and Stephanie have tickets to the Counting Crows, but Danny makes Stephanie give her ticket to Michelle because "it's Michelle's turn".
Wordy McWord!!! Back in the day I thought Michelle was just too danged adorable for her own good (witness above singing of song from MK&A album). But now that I'm all growed up and have kids of my own....just NO. I find myself watching the eps now, yelling, "Slap the shit out of that child. NOW!!!" I saw the above-quoted ep a while back and about fell the fuck out of my chair. The day I pulled crap like that with my kids is the day they'd be hauling me off to some kind of home because I'd have to have lost my ever-loving mind!
RE: the last episode -- I saw several people mention the general crappiness of it. IIRC, back when the ep was written and filmed they were actually not sure if it was being cancelled or not. ABC was still pussyfooting around and making it sound as though there was a chance FH would continue. So the ep was actually written as a
season ender rather than a series ender. It was only after the ep was in the can and on its way that ABC axed "TGIF" and the cast found out there would be no more. If they'd known I think they would have gone a totally different direction and done a bang-up job of it.

Ahhh, Kimmy. "Hola, Tannerinos!" LOL. I liked when she constantly insulted Danny about his tall stature and skinny frame.
About Jesse not being close to Stephanie nor favoring her as he did Michelle...great point. The only time he seemed to interact with Stephanie was to reprimand her for something. Like when she teased that boy, who, according to their classmates, resembled a duck. Jesse was correct when he made her apologize to the boy, but instead of just leaving it at that, he made a huge spectacle about it, embarrassed Stephanie in front of her friends, and basically ignored the fact that the boy turned into a creepy little stalker.

Does ABC Family run the entire 22-minute broadcast of the shows? It seems like, instead of getting 22 minutes of show and 8 minutes of commercials in a half hour, we get about 15 minutes of show and 15 minutes of the same commercials, over and over again. I'm exaggerating here, of course, but it makes one wonder...
I don't think you're exagerrating. I swear to God, if I have to watch ONE MORE damn commercial for Good Will Hunting, Love Rules, or Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone I am going to KILL myself.
Also, I've seen some eps on ABC Family and I notice that they cut to commercial in places where they didn't cut to commercial in the original airing. Do they do this when they air the eps on Nick @ Nite?
I'm not sure if they do it on Nick at Nite, but I have also definitely noticed them cutting out to commercial too quickly at the end of scenes, and definitely leaving stuff out at times on ABC Family as well. They do it with 7th Heaven too. Not that I watch it or anything. But if I did, I would definitely say that Annie is a hag.
No idea...but I immediately thought that it might be because of the shots of Michelle's bare butt, since ABCFamily=Disney owned...
Yet Disney sees nothing wrong with shameless plugging and prostitution of itself on the "let's take the family to Disney World" episodes that every single ABC sitcom has ever had.
Michelle emoted much more as a baby
Definitely true, I notice that a lot more now that I'm older. The Olsen twins had great personalities for TV babies.
Jesse had Kirk Cameron's future wife Chelsea Noble over to spend night.
If Kirk knew that he probably wouldn't have married her.
Oh, speaking of which...has anyone noticed that in the early eps, Stephanie's ears are pierced, but then when she got older, they had that ep that centered on her making the decision to pierce them? Blooper, perhaps?
Not a blooper, just not enough foresight or continuity. In the very episodes actually leading up to this one, Steph had pierced ears, at that same age. Seems like the producers just wanted to use this particular story line and figured that no one was paying that close attention to Steph prior to that episode to know whether she had pierced ears or not.

That "Christmas Scrooge" episode was on last night, and it was yet another Michelle saves the day story. Poor Uncle Jesse lost his Christmas spirit, but Michelle invited the mean old man home for dinner and everything was solved. Stupid, stupid plot. Especially with the guy calling people in Oregon on the Tanners' phone. Of course Jesse tells him to call, he's not paying the phone bill.
The one shining moment was when Michelle got Danny that big drink-holder tie and she said she was going to wrap it so "Dad won't know what it is." Then Kimmy says, "She could give it to him right now and he wouldn't know what it is." That Kimmy, she was pretty funny at times.

i'm a long time lurker that finally decided to join in.
on topic, i just wanted to add to the lack of interaction between stephanie and jesse. there was an episode where stephanie was doing a project with a classmate named charles who was abused by his father at home. stephanie told jesse (???? of all people) and he immediately called child services.
i remember later in the episode she came home and he told her that charles was being taken away, and she got all upset. but i do recall there was some tenderness in that moment as he gently explained to her that it would be better for charles to be away from his dad.
then again, that ep was just full house's way of trying to tackle a "serious issue" , just like that blasted Papouli episode. I'm so sad, but does anyone remember the promos for that? they were like "gather your family for a very special Full House". they did it every hour, before the ep, AND after they had a hotline to call or something. good lord, i thought the episode was going to be a lot more tragic than it was for all the hype.

in the course of the half hour, papouli dies, and michelle (of course) really gets upset, but the family gets together and tells her the great circle of life, and how he's in heaven, blah blah blah cue sappy music. the end.

RE: Last night's Scrooge/Mickey Rooney ep - The Olsen twins have got to be the worst actresses in the world. In this episode, when she was talking to Jesse, she sounded so fake and insincere, it killed me to listen to it.
Also, I thought the screen would explode with cheese the minute everyone gathered around the musical candy cane toothbrush and started singing along. Then Scrooge puts the phone up to it: "Hey Timmy! Listen! It's a musical candy cane toothbrush...it's truly a Christmas miracle!" Sure gramps...tell us where you are again? Riiiight...we're sending along some nice men to pick you up.

Don't feel too bad :)
IIRC, Steph is playing hairdresser and accidentally chops off a chunk of Jesse's hair. He then has to go to his own hairdresser to get it adjusted, and here is where it's a bit sketchy: either he was so upset about what Steph did, or his hairdresser messed it up even more. Either way, he was upset, and he blamed the accident on Steph also.

Okay, that episode and the one in which Jesse's extended family comes over from Greece were absolutely the cheesiest, lamest, stupidest episodes ever. The stereotypes they shoved down our throats were maddening. Yeah, every family in Greece wears clothes from the 1800's. Yeah, every Greek man over the age of 40 passes the time by dancing in a circle. Every culture has traditions, but the show made these people out to be caricatures.

It was way overdramatic. They knew him for what, one day? Jesse's sorrow was overdramtic, too. I think they were just going for (what another poster said) "a very special Full House" episode, whereby the knowledgeable and wise Full House writers teach us viewers about family, morals, and tradition.

This episode bothered me so much because I wasn't feeling the emotion it was trying to get across. He was only the girls' great-grandfather, whom they only met once before. The only person who really should have been THAT distraught was Jesse. I found Michelle's intense sadness to be the most annoying, because most kids that age aren't mature enough to understand death and feel the kind of emotions adults feel. This episode just screams, "Look, our cast is talented enough to cry on cue! See the Olsen Twins in their most emotional performance yet!" *vomits* Though I have to give some credit to Ashley (yeah, I know it was her, haha) for being able to cry on the boat like that, but the build-up to it was drawn out and obvious. It seemed like both John Stamos and someone off camera were coaching her through all the steps to get the tears out.

I think I genuinely laughed at two moments from this show:
1) When Stephanie can't seem to figure out why her recorder (as in, the musical instrument) won't play a certain high note. Jesse takes it and blows into it as hard as he could, and a piece of gum flies out and gets stuck to Michelle's head. I still laugh whenever I see that one in reruns.
2) When DJ and Steve accidentally hit the switch to the cement truck and all the cement comes crashing in through the kitchen window, Jesse and Danny are running around trying to get it up. Jesse runs and gets a glass bowl, and Danny yells "My MOTHER gave me that!" Just the way he says it makes me howl like a loon. Unfortunately, the last time I saw that particular episode, I was at the gym on the treadmill, so now everybody there probably thinks I'm nuts.
I was watching something on Lifetime the other day, and they kept having commercials for a new movie called "Baby for Sale." I couldn't help it, I immediately started singing "Baby for sale, only 50 cents..." I am going to hell.

On topic, one of the moments on Full House that had me laughing the hardest was shown recently. Can you imagine going to a comedy club and having to sit through one of Joey's routines? There was an episode where he opened for Wayne Newton (or someone?) in front of a huge audience, and they were positively howling at Joey's Popeye impressions and "Cut. It. Out."s. Um, yeah right. In real life, people would be either sitting in dead silence or throwing things at him. Or maybe I'm just projecting.
