Miss Aquarius
you can hug him, you can bug him, you could buy or rent...

Yeah, I'm 22. I feel your pain, Cookie55.

I went to this street fair with my mother a few weeks ago, and she had to drag me away from the marykateandashley section of the discount makeup tent. I believe her exact words were, "Please, not here! I have friends here..."
Phenobarbara
DJ and Steve broke up just because they sort of grew apart.

Such tragedy! Then he returned for one brief shining moment in which he took dateless-D.J. to her prom. It was the second in a two part ep in which Michelle fell off her horse and had amnesia.

The Steve and D.J. part was the only part of the finale worth watching.

Another reason why we should hate bratty Michelle: "Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen as Michelle" in the last (maybe others) season. Why are they special enough to be last and the only ones to have their characters' names mentioned? That always pissed me off.
queenfrostine

I love moms. That was a good laugh, Miss Aquarius.

The episode where Kimmy almost got married was on the other night. John Stamos actually had some funny lines when he was trying to get Kimmy to call off the wedding. Danny reads from his notes that were supposed to be for DJ, loosely, something like
Danny - We love you, DJ.
Jesse - We tolerate you as best we can, Kimmy.

Good stuff.
Halfpint Ingals
Yes, those were great lines.

Last night Michelle was full of it. The twins ruined her project, which of course I understand someone being upset. But it was earlier when Michelle was a spoiled bratty princess who never got punished and the others got it for stuff she did.
Then she finally got punished at end. I assume yall remember that ep.
Dave Coulier was creepy listening to stupid tapes while the kitchen is being destroyed behind him. Uncle J wanted to choke him. I know a lot of yall want to as well.

*nods* I just want to choke Dave Coulier for being Dave Coulier.

My favorite Mary-Kate and Ashley song is One Buffalo-Two Buffali. I sing the chorus all the time. I got the video when I was around twelve. A few years ago I gave it to my younger cousin which I now regret which is sad because I’m 23 years old. I babysit an 11 year old and she loves the Olsen twins. She watches Full House and Two of a Kind all the time. She has the dolls.

I never thought when I saw the pilot episode of FH when I was 6 that the adorable baby (I admit it, I watched the show for Michelle for years) would grow up to be a billionaire. Life is strange.
Phenobarbara
Another "I hate Michelle" ep was on the other night - the one where D.J. and Stephanie have tickets to the Counting Crows, but Danny makes Stephanie give her ticket to Michelle because "it's Michelle's turn". WTF?? And Michelle rubbed it in Stephanie's face. Oooooh, I wanted to punch her! She didn't even know who the band was. About Danny...first of all, what parent lets a child that young go to a rock concert even if she's accompanied by her big sister? (okay, maybe I was too sheltered as a child, but that was weird to me) And secondly, his "it's Michelle's turn" is the stupidest parenting policy I've ever heard of. I highly doubt he'd make Michelle give up something she wanted if it was the other girls' "turn".

I think about this show too much.
healing fish
Danny was seriously the worst father in the world. I kept waiting for Stephanie to plug him in the neck one day.

WORD to everything you said, phenobarbara. That episode has got to stir up the most Michelle hate ever. I HATED how smug she was. Stupid little brat should have had her face rubbed in a pile of Comet's krap.
DoctorGlatisha
Word to everything everyone has said about how annoying Michelle is. I used to love Michelle when I watched the show when I was younger. I had the talking Michelle doll, Michelle books, and tons of Mary Kate and Ashley videos and cassette tapes (my favorite song was the one about Broccoli and Chocolate). But now that I'm older and watching reruns of the show, I realize that Michelle really is a spoiled brat, especially in the DisneyWorld and Counting Crows episodes.
AlwaysBoring
I hate Michelle in the Counting Crows episode, and Joey's mechanism on how they would get the ticket, and her excuse at the end was pathetic "I wanted to hang out with ya'll" Oh gag me you little nark. Also the episode back in season 4, when Michelle got her first time out. Eh. I hated how Danny kept on yelling at D.J. and Stephanie, and was I the only one who wanted to hit Danny when he blamed D.J. and Stephanie for bringing the pool in the house? I never liked Michelle actually, I have always loved Stephanie, she was always and still is my favorite. So, the Counting Crows and Disney World episode always pissed me off.
Miss Aquarius
So! Today I caught the first episode on ABCFamily, and they cut out the best scene in the episode -- the super-stupid one where Jesse and Joey change Michelle's diaper for the first time. They cut the whole thing! ABCFamily offiically sucks for that. [/rant]
sunny605
What?!?! That's nuts! I could have sworn I've seen that scene (no pun intended) on ABCFam before.
dawsnzchck
Huh? That's like the entire episode. I love when Stephanie says "well then how do you cook a turkey?" She was such a cute little kid, unlike some other monkey children who will remain nameless.
queenfrostine
That's so weird, because that's one of the more popular scenes, especially in clip shows of the "earlier days." But yeah, tvtome says ABCFamily edited it out, but I wonder why? Do they really think kids are going to see that scene and put their baby brothers and sisters in kitchen pots?
RainIsBeautiful
Does ABC Family run the entire 22-minute broadcast of the shows? It seems like, instead of getting 22 minutes of show and 8 minutes of commercials in a half hour, we get about 15 minutes of show and 15 minutes of the same commercials, over and over again. I'm exaggerating here, of course, but it makes one wonder...
jw7579

This might seem far-fetched, but could they be editing that part because you see BBB (Bare Baby Butt) in that scene?

Also, I've seen some eps on ABC Family and I notice that they cut to commercial in places where they didn't cut to commercial in the original airing. Do they do this when they air the eps on Nick @ Nite?
Miss Aquarius
No idea...but I immediately thought that it might be because of the shots of Michelle's bare butt, since ABCFamily=Disney owned...
RainIsBeautiful
Michelle's bare butt

Maybe that's taboo now that the twins are 18...there are a lot of sickos out there...
healing fish
Oh, sweet Christ. You're probably right.
Candor
There was a really decent ep on the other day from the first season. Uncle Jesse actually said the word "hell".! I heard him, ooh.. I am telling.!

He also serenades SmoreAss with an Elvis song in the bath tub.! Then, AllThreeTools serenade the girls with a frightening rendition of "Sunrise, Sunset". Then, they all show up at Stephanie's school claiming to be her father. The teacher seems to find this all quite normal.

I muse at the homoerotic undertones on this show.
Dei
This might seem far-fetched, but could they be editing that part because you see BBB (Bare Baby Butt) in that scene?

Isn't there also a few flashes of Bare Baby Vulva? I'm sure that the last time I saw that scene I caught sight of it, 'cause I a little shocked that it got past the editors, although I suppose I could have been imagining things. In which case I need to start worrying about myself.
RainIsBeautiful
Okay, that's it then...not the baby booty.

Still...ewwww...
SenatorTCJ
There can never be enough of "I hate Michelle" rants sooooo:

"No fun, no fun, staring at the waaaaaaallll."
WiseGal
"No fun, no fun, staring at the waaaaaaallll."

My response to that would be: Well come here, little Michelle and allow me to slam your oversized head INTO the wall...Then you can stare in the wall. "_"
Miss Aquarius
I don't think baby twat would have passed censors on regular television. You might be right, but I don't recall any frontal shots of Michelle in that scene where she wasn't sitting in the pot(with her dress covering any questionable areas), or where she wasn't already covered up with the paper towels and stupid bag thing.

Even so, they didn't need to cut the WHOLE scene. Bastards.

Anybody else notice that in the syndicated vers. of the opening credits(where you see the family running down the hill to that waiting just around the bend line), that shot was clearly filmed during season two, while most of the rest of the footage is from season one? Michelle's hair is in 2 little ponytails and her hair wasn't long enough during season one for that. No idea why I brought it up, just thought about it the other day.

Also, am I the only one here whose favorite character on FH was DJ? I didn't really like Stephanie past season 3 or so -- there was a period of time there in the middle of FH's run where she really, REALLY grated on my nerves. I liked her better once the writers let her stop whining once in a while, but DJ was still my favorite. Though when she started dating Steve/Nelson/Viper, she was sickeningly uninteresting.
Dei
It wasn't really full frontal, just a flash or two when they held her the wrong way while trying to figure out what to do. Possibly one when they began to wrap her in paper towel and were just getting to the front, though I can't remember for sure. I agree that it shouldn't be enough to cut the whole scene.
WiseGal
Didn't you all hate that when the Katsopolous twins were born and you thought that all the spoiling and attention would be swayed away from bratty Michelle, but it really didn't? That pissed me off. Besides, Nicky and Alex were much cuter.
KatieWagner
Oh, well. Whatever.I still like it.
Miss Aquarius
It wasn't really full frontal, just a flash or two when they held her the wrong way while trying to figure out what to do.

Oh...I see what you mean, now. You're probably right, then.

WiseGal, Nicky and Alex never really did anything all that interesting. Michelle emoted much more as a baby, and was much more personable than Nicky and Alex were. I never really took to them. They never really had interesting lines as toddlers/young kids, either, so there really wasn't much to go on. They always seemed more like accessories than actual children. Seemed like FH was just trying to do what the Cosby show had done years before when they added Raven Symone to their cast, except Raven was a bright little girl who could carry on full conversations, and Blake and Dylan, well, weren't. The most I remember them saying is stuff like "I like blue." "I like red." "Mean Daddy." "Mean Michelle." "Come on, bwudder." Though Michelle pissed me off in later years, Nicky and Alex never did anything to make me like them better.
ChinkyGirl
The episode where Danny starts to change things around because he was depressed over his breakup with Vicky was on last night. When he sits the family down for a sushi dinner, they show a scene of Nicky & Alex banging the table with their chopsticks - I swear, one of them looks absolutely possessed!! Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I was just thinking, through all the girlfriends/dates the guys had, they never showed any of them sleeping over the house (or the guys spending the night elsewhere - Jesse never stayed over Becky's). Even on the most wholesome of family shows, there are a few instances where strangers pop up at the house one morning after spending the night, so I wonder what prevented them from ever doing that here? Oh well, just wondering. Maybe it's all for the best - I would hate to ever see implied JoeySex..ewwwwww!
Halfpint Ingals
There was one episode in season one when the family was supposed to go to Disney. Jesse had Kirk Cameron's future wife Chelsea Noble over to spend night. The family got home early (never went) and Jesse's nights and plans were ruined. He moved out for a little while, but came back. It was the 1st show (of 4) to show both Olsens together.
oreo8704
Is 18 considered adult in Canada, or is is younger?

16 is the age of consent. I think it's the same in all provinces but not
certain.

For some reason I liked Stephanie the best. I don't know why but
I found her more entertaining than D.J. and Michelle.
WiseGal
I see what you're saying MissAquarius, but I didn't have a problem with Michelle have more screen time, I just found it unrealistic how she was STILL the spoiled brat even though she wasn't the youngest anymore. And you're right, the twins never did do much, I just said they were cuter. HEE.

DJ was by far my favorite character. I think it's because she was the closest to my age so I related to her. Stephanie really bugged me because she reminded me of my little sister, and of course Michelle was just ridiculously annoying. I liked Stephanie more once she got to be around junior high school age and stopped with the "how rude."

I agree that DJ was boring with her boyfriends too. I really started to lose interest in the show after she started dating Steve. It seemed like she became too much of a goody-goody. Not that she was a bad girl before or anything, but she was more realistic in the earlier seasons.

The scariest thing about Full House for me is that I clearly remember watching the first episode and thinking that it was just the best television show EVER.
jw7579

Did DJ become a goody-goody around the time that Mike Seaver became a goody-goody on Growing Pains? I know that Candace is religious now but I don't know if she "found God" the same time that Kirk did.
Phenobarbara
Also, am I the only one here whose favorite character on FH was DJ?

No, I liked her the best, too. After kindergarten, Stephanie became horrendously annoying with her evesdropping and diary reading. And when she entered junior high and made friends with that Gia girl, she became really obnoxious. D.J. had her moments of being a goody-goody, but I preferred that over the other two sisters.
Miss Aquarius
I definitely see what you're saying, WiseGal. You know, the fact that Michelle stayed the spoiled one might have more to do with the fact that Danny was her father(and not the father of the twins -- at least, as far as we know, lol). Becky seemed to know what she was doing most of the time when it came to disciplining the twins, and while Jesse was pretty ignorant as far as child-rearing is concerned, he still wasn't as insanely doting as Danny was.

Remember that episode where Danny gets too attached to the twins because Michelle decides she's too grown to ride Quacky the duck? Becky came home from the supermarket with two little toy trains as a special surprise for Nicky and Alex, and when she walked in the living room, there was a baby-sized train track set up, and Nicky and Alex were riding on these huge toy trains that Danny had bought them. If Becky didn't restrict Danny's time with the twins in that episode, it's likely they would have taken Michelle's place as the Spoiled Brats du Jour.

I don't think she did as much of a 180 as Kirk seemed to. With Kirk, it seemed more like a sudden thing, with Candace, it seemed more like a gradual evolution.

I think my main problem with the character of Stephanie was that the writers never really worked to give her her own identity. Her personality relied so much on the "friends" they wrote in for her that she seemed to almost get lost in the plotlines. Everything from the way she spoke to how she dressed changed based on who she hung out with, and while I know that kids go through phases, etc., she seemed to just jump on every trend like a maniac. The ear-piercing episode is a great example. It's like she was afraid to be different, the approval of these people mattered so much to her. Whereas DJ and Michelle didn't seem to care that heavily(except for that Super Secret Kids Club or whatever it was called that Michelle tried to get Danny to buy her way back into). DJ always seemed the most independent to me -- and socially, it seemed like she was given more difficult choices to make(like the school paper episode where she fires Kimmy).
Phenobarbara
The ear-piercing episode is a great example.

Oh, speaking of which...has anyone noticed that in the early eps, Stephanie's ears are pierced, but then when she got older, they had that ep that centered on her making the decision to pierce them? Blooper, perhaps?
bella1013
I haven't been to this thread in a while, and i was shocked to find out that there was a Counting Crows episode of Full House. Were they actually on the show?
Miss Aquarius
Counting Crows weren't on an ep of FH, just referenced. Stephanie and DJ get tickets to a CC concert, but Michelle wants to go. Wacky hijinks follow.

We never actually see them at the concert, I don't think. And Michelle keeps screwing up their name... Counting Cats, etc.
WiseGal

You know what, you just reminded me of that episode. Good observation.
bella1013
I keep thinking about that episode where Joey plays icehockey, complete with prancing Michelle around at the end, i think that was the ep where i started hating her.
Phenobarbara
Another I-hate-Michelle moment was when she did something wrong and Jesse told Danny about it and she got into trouble. (sorry, I know that's vague) She whines and pouts and, for the rest of the episode, she refers to Jesse as "Uncle Tattle Tale". Maybe my family was overly strict, but if I ever spoke like that to a relative, I would have received a formidable smack to my rear end. But, on Full House, the adults always feel just awful about punishing poor little Michelle, so they let all that other stuff slide.
jcpdiesel21
I vaguely remember that episode. Uncle Tattle Tale? Where was Danny's parenting during this mean-spirited outburst?
WiseGal
She whines and pouts and, for the rest of the episode, she refers to Jesse as "Uncle Tattle Tale".

Oh gawd, I remember that one. Like you said, If I would have done that, my booty would have been the color of a Washington Apple.

Not to sway off the I-Hate-Michelle rant, but I have another reason why I dispise Joey: The way he imitates Popeye irritates the hell outta me. The way he says, "Whoa" makes me want to shove Popeye brand spinach up his arse so he would shut up.
RainIsBeautiful
The way he says, "Whoa" makes me want to shove Popeye brand spinach up his arse so he would shut up.

Except that would probably make him say it again, and louder. Ew.

I'm feeling the DJ love -- there were very few episodes in which I didn't like her much, and although I enjoy the StephSnark now, DJ was always my fave.
DoctorGlatisha
The episode where they almost sell the house to that Bond guy was on tonight. I had forgotten how annoying Michelle was in this one.

I can't believe that they would consider selling their house! All those people living in one house? Great idea! I mean, how could Jesse and Becky even think of having their own home instead of living in someone's attic? It's a good thing Michelle was around to let everyone know the error of their ways. [/sarcasm]

And the end always makes me want to gag. Michelle's friend brings Comet in and says, "Comet, you live here" Then Michelle looks around and says, "We all live here" Cue twinkly music and cheers from the audience.
WiseGal
Except that would probably make him say it again, and louder. Ew.

LOL. Well let's just hope it's done with enough power to mute him.

ETA:

Michelle's friend brings Comet in and says, "Comet, you live here" Then Michelle looks around and says, "We all live here" Cue twinkly music and cheers from the audience.

OMG, *puke*. Wow, move over Tiny Tim, I think Michelle just took the throne for the cutest last line ever. [/sarcasm, of course]
