D.J. "You have to understand that who I date is up to ME".
Danny: (meek and obedient) "Of course...you're right...I know that...it's just that I love you and blah blah blah overprotective cakes..."

This "you're not Daddy's little girl anymore and I just have to accept that" conversation happened about 100 times on FH, and to all the girls too. Geez...talk about some serious problems that Danny had. I'm the only child and even I didn't have this discussion! Sometimes, FH was just so unrealistically sappy it kills me!
RainIsBeautiful
"the guy from Full House that's not John Stamos." Haha I'm definitely going to be watching this season.

Ditto! Dave Cool-yay is totally creepy, but I'll definitely watch...just to see someone ask him about Alanis. :)
Phenobarbara
I'll definitely watch...just to see someone ask him about Alanis. :)

You know, up until recently, I didn't know that Alanis was only 16 when they dated. And he was 31. WTF? Forgive my ignorance, but is 18 considered an adult in Canada, or is it younger? Blech, even as a little kid watching this show, I always felt that Joey was a nasty pedophile. It only got worse when the twin brothers showed up.
Controversy
Another gross Joey moment- I think it was the finale or close to it, the season when all the characters in the opening credits were starting to look defeated- anyway, Joey and Jesse are "rehearsing" for a wrestling show they are doing. Somehow they end up locked together thrashing around on the floor. Uncle Jesse is hot, but Joey is so disgusting that I can barely watch this. Then Nicky and Alex walk in. SHUDDER.

Also in one of the first episodes there's a scene with Joey and Jesse in a bathroom that's quite homoerotic. But sickeningly so.

I love this show.
WiseGal
They described him as "the guy from Full House that's not John Stamos."

Yeah, that was harsh, yet so funny. Sad thing is, though, soon they will be describing Stamos as "the cast member from Full House who is neither Mary-Kate nor Ashley Olsen"
ChinkyGirl
the season when all the characters in the opening credits were starting to look defeated

Hee! So true, so very true!

The Disney World ep. was on yesterday which was about a 10 on the Michelle gag-o-meter...and Snow White is one creepy looking lady, lol.

Okay, while we're on the subject of things that annoy us (what else?) I have to say that I hated Nelson, The Rich Guy Who Liked D.J. Absolutely could not stand the sight of him

ITA!! I could not STAND this guy. His lips bugged me. His smirky smirkiness with his stupid lips. Grr! (I'm sure the actor is lovely and all....) Every time I see that guy in anything something about him drives me insane.

And heaven forbid if he kisses one of the girls on FH. Bleah! Bleah! Bleah! I hated any time Full House brought in anybody THAT over the top. Anyone remember the ostrich eppie? Yeah.. over the top much?

Oh and word on the wrestling moment with Jesse & Joey. I just kept screaming RUN UNCLE JESSE! RUN LIKE THE WIIIIIIIND!
Btal
Over the past 2 days I've read nearly this entire thread...I need help.

De-lurking because I can't remember a couple details in one of my favorite episodes, and I think you're the right people to ask. :)

Michelle plays soccer and scores for the wrong team. Steph in the meantime has made a video of family members doing embarassing things. I remember Jesse talked to his hair, DJ and Steve had issues with a sweater, and Becky was singing with the twins...what did Danny and Joey do? (heh. after all the talk here, I chose I fine way to word my question)

And Joey is a creep.
Miss Aquarius
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the wrestling ep another excuse for Cool-yay to show off his buff physique in tiiiiiights?

I, too, saw the Disneyworld eps last night. Now, if I had been a Tanner sister, when Michelle "runs away", I totally would have been like, "Ah, well, screw it -- Splash Mountain, anyone?" Everything about that episode pissed me off. Usually I like Tanner family trip episodes(shoutout to the Clipboard of Fun!!), but that one insulted what little intelligence I have. Let's take a moment and dissect the suckitude, shall we? (Bear with me, I've been at work for a phat half an hour and I'm already bored)

Who printed up all those posters advertising Michelle as princess for a day and placed them all around the theme park? And if they do that contest every day, how is it feasible that they make a million posters about it every day?

When Michelle was missing, why didn't they just alert park officials to LOOK FOR THE GIRL ON THE POSTERS?

When Snow White found Michelle, why didn't she drag Michelle's delinquent ass over to those lost child holding quarters and alert her family?

How could the characters at Michelle's tea party(except Snow White and Alice) be expected to drink the damn tea through their mega-gigantic plastic heads?

Chip 'N Dale -- Why were they trying to front like they could eat the chicken salad without taking their heads off? And if they were trying to protect the illusion of their characters, why wasn't it acknowledged that chipmunks don't eat chicken salad, nor do they use utensils?

Michelle -- when she was awarded the three wishes, didn't you kind of expect Robert Thorne to be hiding behind the genie, whispering "wish for a controlling share in Disney stock!"?

Couldn't Disney have sprung for a tiara that wasn't made out of aluminum foil?

...Sorry. I think I cleared whatever blockage was causing my FH rage.

By the way, Sunday at 12noon EST, ABC Family is airing the pilot -- so hopefully they'll air the unedited opening credits.

(edited to switch the airdate from Saturday to Sunday -- reading is fundamental, people!)

The Disney World ep. was on yesterday which was about a 10 on the Michelle gag-o-meter...and Snow White is one creepy looking lady, lol.

LOL @ Snow White being creepy. I must agree though. Quick question: Was the scene where DJ thought she saw Steve as Aladdin (and practically everyone else) some kind of an inside joke since the guy who plays Steve also played the voice of Aladdin in the animated Disney movie?
FairyChica78
The Disney World ep. was on yesterday which was about a 10 on the Michelle gag-o-meter...and Snow White is one creepy looking lady, lol.

What was even more creepier was in the second-part of the Tanner Disney World trip was when Joey was hitting on and later dancing with Snow White. Not as creepy as seeing Joey in wrestling tights and/or in a bubble bath, but still...shudder.

One thing I noticed for the first time in the Disney World episodes last night was during Danny's first proposal attempt to Vicky (when she's sitting by the water fountain and holding the bird) before they got interrupted by the dancers. If you watch closely during the scene, you can see a lot of people in the background being held back by park guards in a gateway as they watch the scene being filmed. Even some people who are not paid extras walk into the scene by accident and point and wave at the camera.

Was the scene where DJ thought she saw Steve as Aladdin (and practically everyone else) some kind of an inside joke since the guy who plays Steve also played the voice of Aladdin in the animated Disney movie?

It had to have been because at that time, Aladdin (trust me, these were my babysitting days so I know) was an extremely popular movie and anyone watching "Full House" must've known that Steve was also the voice of Aladdin. Also, speaking of Aladdin and Michelle becoming Princess for a Day. Prior to Michele rubbing the lamp, other kids were rubbing the lamp very quickly and then walking away becuse the Genie didn't appear. When it was Michelle's "turn" (should've been Stephanie's), she seemed to rub the lamp a whole hell of a lot longer than anyone else did. During the time she rubbed the lamp, about three other kids could've had a turn. I know it doesn't matter I guess but I guess it proves even more that Michelle is a big spoiled brat.
RainIsBeautiful
I have to say that I hated Nelson, The Rich Guy Who Liked D.J.
His lips bugged me. His smirky smirkiness with his stupid lips. Grr!

Oh, my. I think he's totally hot! (Especially his appearances on Step By Step!) That may just be because I had a HUGE crush on a guy in high school who looked exactly like him, and I can't say I'd mind wiping that smirk off his lips. ;)

I'm sick. I know.
WiseGal
FairyChica78, about Michelle rubbing the lamp way longer than she should've, you get a big fat WORD on that one. I always hated that as well. She is, indeed, one spoiled brat. Ugh.
Phenobarbara
Oooooh the genie/lamp episode...HATED IT. I wanted to reach through my t.v. screen and smack Michelle in the face. Annoying little brat!!
Threve
Sign me up on the Michelle being a spoiled brat on the Disney episode. If my baby brother had ever tried that shit with my brother and myself or even with one of my parents he would have been smacked upside the head hard.
tijmetje
Thanks for the Polka Puppet Monkey shit explanation, Miss Aquarius. I think I might have seen it, but all memories of sitcoms I saw before age 15 seem to have merged into one. So it is entirely possible that some parts are familiar because they happen in every damn family-oriented sitcom.

I don't actually remember the Disney trip episode. I never knew Steve did the Alladin voice until I came here, either, but I've only sen that movie dubbed.
vailfiregirl
If you watch ABC Family with any regularity, you'll see the Disney ones about once a month. Because they show them all the time. When discussing FH with one of my friends, we still refer to Steve as Aladdin.

Count me in on wanting to kill Michelle on those. She was such an annoying spoiled brat. And the whole Danny not being about to ask whats-her-face to marry him (Vicki?) was annoying. And Jesse and Rebecca fighting was annoying. And DJ seeing Steve everywhere was annoying. Amazingly, Stephanie was the least annoying person that show.
Miss Aquarius
Ashley talks about Mary-Kate's situation

and

Looks like they won't be living in that giant apartment in the village after all.

It was my pleasure, tijmetje. Pathetic as it seems, I enjoy recapping bad FH episodes, lol!

Amazingly, Stephanie was the least annoying person that show.

That was one of the first times since season two where I enjoyed Stephanie and actually AGREED with her on stuff in an episode.

ETA: Welcome to the board, Btal! I don't remember what Danny or Joey did either in the "Wrong Way Tanner" episode, but if you live in the US, that episode is airing tomorrow at 5:30 EST on Nickelodeon.
kickedinthehead
Yet another WORD on bratty Michelle and that Disney World episode!!

I remember that dumb scene with Vicky and the bird. Now I'll be forced to watch it again to see the gawking extras!

The funniest part of that episode is when Jesse and his band are butchering that "Hippy Hippy Shake" song and you can see Captain Hook in the crowd with his big gaping-mouth costume head jumping around and waving his arms.

The second funniest part? DJ and Kimmy's ad-libbing just before they see Steve check in: "That was really fun.""That was really cool.""I thought that was really fun." Could they sound any LESS natural?
FairyChica78
Yeah, they do tend to show the Disney World episodes a lot. Don't ask me why as just about every episode in the last 3 seasons of Full House are/were pretty painful to watch. I'd say the show "jumped the shark" when Nicky and Alex were aged to 2 years old in the 1992-93 season.
What is everyone's favorite episode? (That is, if anyone has one.) My fave has got to be the episode where Stephanie loses Mr. Bear when cleaning out toys to give to charity and ends up blaming Joey. Then, the family realizes why Mr. Bear was so important to Stephanie: because it was the last gift her mother ever gave her. The family then starts talking about Pam and then, we get to see the home movie where Danny and Pam bring baby Michelle home from the hospital. When Michelle sees Mr. Bear on the home movie, she gets it out of the piano chair and gives it back to Stephanie. [whispers]I think it's one of the two moments where "Full House" made me cry.[/whispers].
Phenobarbara

That was a good one. I also cried when they watched the home videos of Pam. :sniff:
I liked the one where D.J. and her family threw Kimmy an impromptu b-day party after D.J. forgot it was her Sweet Sixteen and made plans with Steve instead. Another good one was when little Stephanie decided she didn't want to go to Kindergarten, and the guys showed up at the school to try to convince her it's okay, and in the end, D.J. manages to convince her.
Charlotte
My favorite episode was the one where Stephanie crashes the car into the kitchen. When I was in grade 2 my friends and I even acted out parts of that episode for our class talent show. "Blame it on the rain, yeah...yeah!" Good times.
ChinkyGirl
Michelle: "Rain, rain, go away..."

SHUT UP! ;)

Major WORD to that, kickedinthehead! My friend and I always made fun of the crappy ad-libbing in this scene: "I really loved Splash Mountain!" "With the water!" Along with the others you already mentioned. Haha! The Disney 2-parter would definitely fit into my Top 10 Worst Episodes list for so many reasons, including the ones Miss Aquarius mentioned.

And speaking of the eppy when Stephanie crashes the car through the kitchen, another fine example of unnatural ad-libbing between DJ and Kimmy occurs sometime in that one. Something like, "I really like New Kids On The Block!" "Yeah, I like them!" "They're really cool".

I agree the show started tanking from Seasons 6-8, when the inept twins suddenly appeared with that godawful girly hair. I'm not sure which episode is my favorite, but one of my faves was when DJ and Steph put the hole in Danny's wall, and they sang that infectious "Dad" song. Michelle was cute in this one, and for once, the two older girls didn't get caught/punished. Just the fact that they got away with it, sans lecture/weepy music was quite thrilling.

Oh, about the "Wrong Way Tanner" episode, Steph filmed Joey making faces, then zooming in on his nasal hair! Ugh, excuse me while I revisit my dinner........okay. Danny's clip was in the "backyard" when he shows Michelle how to kick, but accidentally breaks Kimmy's new bug zapper. That was a semi-fave episode because it was so gratifying to see Michelle get some comeuppance(SP?), since I hated that character for the last few seasons.

God, I'd almost forgotten what an evil little hellspawn Michelle was. Of course she was the one who stole it in the first place.
Mine All Mine
The second funniest part? DJ and Kimmy's ad-libbing just before they see Steve check in: "That was really fun.""That was really cool.""I thought that was really fun." Could they sound any LESS natural?

Another really great ad-lib: "We're drinking tea!" I believe it was DJ who uttered that gem at the tea party.

Who printed up all those posters advertising Michelle as princess for a day and placed them all around the theme park? And if they do that contest every day, how is it feasible that they make a million posters about it every day?

Here's my problem with the posters. They have her picture and her full name right on them. Little girl is wandering around the park all by herself. Do I even need to finish this thought?

Also, they were there for what, like a day? They certainly seemed to do an awful lot of park-hopping. One ride here, one ride at another park, then lunch at another park altogether. I've been to Disney World, it's not that easy. Holy crap, I care way too much.
strawberryblond
Did anyone catch today's ABC Family episode where Michelle is freaking out because her feet have grown and she's worried that she's going to have giant feet so she does weird things to make them stop growing? I found it really ironic and uncomfortable to watch considering Mary-Kate's eating disorder problem. I was actually a little bit surprised that they aired it this week. Does anyone else agree with me or am I being too sensitive today?
healing fish
Heh. Now that you mention it, that is a scary coincidence.
WiseGal
There can never be enough of "I hate Michelle" rants sooooo:

Remember when DJ and Steve played a little joke on her and had Steve "marry" Michelle? Now as I watched this episode, I KNEW that she was serious about it since any moron knew that thats how the show was gonna play out, but if you thought about it in a real life situation, she seemed to talk about the marriage in a joking way around DJ and Steve. So naturally, the couple thought she was kidding. Anywho, she found out and made this REALLY ugly face at Steve saying, "That was mean steve. Real mean." I know she's just a kid but....BITCH, first of all, he thought you were kidding around, too. As anyone would. He never meant to hurt ur spoiled arse, so how was he MEAN?

*Irritated Sigh*

The more I watch this show as an adult, the more I'm startled by how annoying the Michelle character was...and how snarkaliciously cool Stephanie was. It's also nice to see that time has only made John Stamos hotter. ;)

Hee. Same here. (Though, I really haven't been an 'adult' for long) Anywho, I agree with the Stamos hotness-factor increasing since I grew up. Speaking of him though, someone else has mentioned this, but don't you all find it incredibly irritating that Jesse seemed to hate little Stephanie, yet had some kinda bond with Michelle? Damn that "How Rude"-Line-Stealer.

What pissed me off about the Steve marries Michelle eppy was that so much of it was directly lifted from the Stephanie marries Harry ep.

Right down to Steve leaving and his reason being his mom's making meatloaf. Almost the same exact conversation happened btwn Stephanie and Harry. Maybe the writers were trying to make a point. Maybe the writers were all in rehab so the producers, having completed rehab the week before, decided to dig an old eppy out of the vault so ppl could be like aww that michelle! She's just like her older sister! The child's gonna be allllllllright. I don't know. But it annoyed the bejeezus out of me.
Phred62
My favorite episode is the one when Jesse makes his video for “Forever.” I just love the song and the video.

My favorite Stephanie moment is when she catches herself singing Baby Beluga and starts hitting herself on the head. “Get out, get out, get out!” I say that to myself every time a song gets stuck in my head.

I also thoroughly enjoyed this episode. One of my other favorite Stephanie moments was the episode when Joey and Danny dressed up like fugly women to steal some penguin back from a sorority that was having a reunion or something and then they got arrested. When DJ sprung them from jail and they all got home to Kimmy babysitting them, Stephanie hugs Kimmy before going to bed, and looks horrified. "I just hugged Kimmy Gibbler. Dad and Joey are in dresses.", and Michelle responds "What a day".
Phenobarbara

I hated that episode. Yet another example of Michelle's spoiled brat-ness and the family indulging her. First of all, how gross that her father and the others went along with her crush on Steve and thought it was cute, right down to the wedding. Seriously, wtf??

I think it'd be more creepy if they aired the "DJ starves herself to get thin" episode.

You mean they actually didn't cue the music after that part? Someone must have been asleep at the controls.

I never noticed that, but maybe he had a bond with Michelle because she was never going to know her mother and he was the closest person to her mother. Does that make sense?

Oh great...I simply can't get "Baby Beluga" out of my head now!

Talk about creepy - Oprah is rerunning the Olsens' interview from a few weeks back.
Doctracey
I halfway hate to defend the characters on the show, but I don't know what age most of y'all are, but if you have nieces/ nephews/ kids, they can really do some hysterical things that crack you up-- things that probably wouldn't be sooo funny to an outsider. I see my niece and nephew every day or two (she's just out of kindergarten; he's 3 years younger), and they crack me up. They tend to repeat what they've heard grown-ups say, imitate what they see on commercials, stuff like that-- and if it gets a few laughs, then they'll keep doing it.

My point is (I think I have a point!) that kids can really be as annoyingly adorable as the Tanner children. However, most parents/ guardians aren't as irritating as Danny or Joey. Or as creepy.

By the way, good call jw7579. Talk about creepy, indeed!

I just saw the lame camp episode yesterday, which was discussed a few pages back.. Mister Mullet sat on a plate of smores like the tool that he is, and Uncle Jesse proceeds to spray whipped cream all over his ass.!?

1. That was the gayest thing I have ever seen on television. EVER. TLC and Bravo included.

2. I remember seeing the camp episode years ago, but I don't recall this horrific scene. I must have blocked it out for the sake of my own sanity.

3. Brother For Sale, only five cents.! (It continues to haunt me..)

Oh. My. Lord.
Scary.

I have a question. When and why did Steve and DJ break up? I had been thinking that they were still together when the show ended, but the ABC Family episodes are in the final season right now and they aren't together, but I missed it for a few weeks when his disappearance would have occurred and been explained. Now she's with that Nelson dork (seriously, I always thought DJ was kind of cool, so why was she with Nelson?), who I remember, but I don't remember what happened to Steve.

I never liked DJ's boyfriends on this show because I thought that her storylines with them were much more boring than her stories with Kimmy and other non-boyfriend issues.
healing fish

Seriously, those two make Clark Kent and Lex Luthor look straight.
ChinkyGirl
DJ and Steve broke up just because they sort of grew apart. This all started when he went on some class trip where the highlight of the event was meeting Suzanne Summers.

For some reason, DJ was stuck at home waiting all day for Steve's calls when she basically said "fuck it" and went off with Kimmy and her boyfriend to climb a mountain. This inspired her so much that she convinced Steve to climb it with her when he got back. He didn't seem to take as much joy into the whole thing as she did, so she gave him the whole "we've both changed, it's too comfortable, I feel like I'm dating a sibling" speech, and they both parted ways.

Audience: "Awwwwwwwwwwww...<clap, clap, clap>"

Aahhhh! Most horrific moment on Full House. EVER. I cringed so much the first time, I won't watch that scene ever again. What made it especially creepy was the way the camera panned from Joey's marshmallowy-ass to his face - probably the only panning shot ever done on the show. His constipated expression and the utter glee from the whole family is frightening - especially coming from Michelle, what was she, 7 in this episode? *shivers*

That entire episode, or just the segment with the interview as part of a new episode? Did she give comments?

Last Sunday, my parents, my sister and I all took a car trip about 45 minutes away (Dad's birthday brunch). My sister and I decided to be annoying and start singing "Brother for Sale." She had the tape when she was little. The sad thing is that I'm almost 24 years old, and she's 17. And we knew almost all the words. There's something very wrong with that.

I feel better having admitted that, just so you know.
