When Montel reached, what was it, 10,000 shows? He made a big deal about it. And heck that's a huge number.

But 500 episodes in a daily is like 50 in a regular show, a moderate success, still to early to tell if it's a long-term success.

What ever happened to that severely anorexic girl from Australia? And back to the Mormon mother (the counselor!), I'm jonesing for news!

Ooo I'd almost forgotten about those 2- yeah, I'm with y'all who think Mormon mom is beyond repair- plus, she didn't have the loveability of FUF1. Anorexic Aussie, I'd like to see what she's up to- plus, I remember on that same show was a girl who lost 100 something lbs, but was addicted to diet pills- wonder what she's up to.
Cross Eyed Mary
Hee. Thanks, Non Sequiter!

I know everyone hates Mikai, but I think the psychiatric hospital was the best solution to the situation. The biggest problem with child abuse is that most witnesses are related to the abusers and are reluctant to set in motion a chain of evens that will send their brother/son/father/uncle/nephew/husband to prison. The choice can split and destroy families. Sex crimes, especially those against children are, IIRC, the most under reported crimes. If Mikai couldn't go the inpatient facility, mom wouldn't have contacted Dr Phil and things would continue as they were. Mikai wouldn't be treated and would continue to molest, the daughter wouldn't be identified as a victim and treated, and would continue to be molested, and you wouldn't even know Mikai was a child molester.
DrCher
I know everyone hates Mikai, but I think the psychiatric hospital was the best solution to the situation.

He's not in a psychiatric facility. He's at a day spa.
onlyinPV
I'm not jumping on the Lock Makai Up And Throw Away The Key train, because I think the kid was seriously screwed up by adults and deserves one shot to straighten himself out. I do think that his only hope is to never go back to that house. I don't usually agree with Dr. Shrill but I agree in this case. I got some really creepy vibes from that mother. I get the feeling that Makai isn't the only molester in that house.
Fish Heads
He's not in a psychiatric facility. He's at a day spa.
Except he lives there 24/7, and spends most of his day in group therapy. Private healthcare is competitive and has to seek out customers. Nice buildings and nice furniture is what private healthcare is about anyway. The prettier things are, the more they can charge.
Roobear
Please. No amount of therapy is going to help Makai. Even if he gets therapy, he's still is not going to stop molesting his sister & other children. He's a lost cause.

The only way that he's ever going to get cured is that he goes on a one-way trip to Compton, CA. That's what Makai's & his brainless mother Kendra needs.
lovemesomevos
Didn't Makai have a pregnant girlfriend at some point? Has she/the baby been mentioned at all?

[QUOTE]Me too! As DrCher said, they're probably beyond repair... I hate the way some of the most desperate and ridiculous people fail to have any follow-ups. What ever happened to that severely anorexic girl from Australia? And back to the Mormon mother (the counselor!), I'm jonesing for news! [/QUOTE

I also want to know about the show that never was. Some woman whoose issue was so bad Dr. Phulofit could not even say what it was. Anyone remember what I am talking about? The show started but nothing was explaind and I never heard of her again.
nicepebbles
is it really that much of an accomplishment to reach 500 shows when you are on DAILY?

Yes, when most talk shows get cancelled within minutes of starting nowadays save for The Tony Danza Show. Ick!

Did any one else's BS meter go off with the second Mooching couple? Not only do they mooch off of her parents, AND the wife has MS AND the husband is a poker addict, etc etc. Just seemed to be a bit too much in one story.
pinhead
My BS meter went off when the wife claimed to have NO IDEA as to their financial status. Cuz the day I found out my skeevy husband was gamblin' away our savings, I'd take away the checkbook and never look back. And MiL bails them out without asking to see records? Stoo-pid!!

Then the loser-cad goes to a divorce lawyer 2 months after the MS diagnosis? Run, lady!! As fast as your weak, wobbly little legs will alow.

Did I miss the part where the wife had gotten an attorney as well?
loudfan
Did I miss the part where the wife had gotten an attorney as well?

Her mom had loaned her the money for the retainer. It was weird how the wife kept talking about how the show was their "last chance" -- as if Dr. Phil was going to magically make everything OK. We know better...

Mini-Bar Mooch had the stupidest facial hair I've ever seen.

And then, at the end of the Mooch Couple segment, after all of that damning commentary, she turns and says, 'but we really love each other."

Here is a website that has photos of the Dahm triplets in all their glory. Wonder if Shill has seen these photos? Has Kitty seen them? Jay is dating one of them? All three of them??
Is his dad jealous of Jay's hot babes? Poor Kitty will need another visit to her fountain of youth doctor.

But ofcourse!

Has Kitty seen them?

Yes, she caugth $hill

Jay is dating one of them?

That's just what he's telling his parents (mommy just couldn't handle the truth)

All three of them??

The truth

Is his dad jealous of Jay's hot babes?

But ofcourse!

Poor Kitty will need another visit to her fountain of youth doctor.

Well, al least she knows where to go now, anyone who can make 6 identical boobs, can make a 50-something look like a perky 20-something.

By the way, I'm glad to see that there are others with a little weakness for Jordan, I always thought I had some weird malfunction.
Ow, and another By the way, I read somewhere that BBJ's show will be back on, never seen it, but I'd like everyone who'll be tortured by it to know that you're in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck!

I really wanted to slap M-BM's stupid family. Once homeslice hit 25 and it became apparent that he wasn't about to do anything other than be a mooching simpleton, his folks (including the sisters) should've said "You're a grown ass man. We love you, but you're a lazy-ass motherfucker. Get the fuck out of our house, stop mooching, and get a fuckin' J-O-B, you SOB. Oh, and if you don't pony up for the rent/car note/etc, we're going to sue you. Smooches!"
Maybelline
About the mooching yuppies...(what the hell kind of stupid name is "Springer," anyway?) I hated the husband, Springer, of course, what kind of man blows over $20,000 on poker while his mother in law pays the mortgage? But a few subtle remarks made me think that the wife wasn't as much a victim as she claimed to be. She started by saying that when she married her husband, she was marrying into a family that everyone wanted to marry into-"all the girls wanted to marry a Jones boy". Then she said, towards the end, that she wanted him to be the provider, and her to be a Stay-at-home Mom, like it used to be. That, and the fact that she didn't even have access to their checking account, makes me think that she married Springer because his family was rich, and that she expected him to make enough money that not only would she never need to work, she would never even need to know what their bank account balance was. When it turned out that he was a lazy, unreliable gambling addict, she felt cheated.

It's hard not to sympathize with a mother of two small children who has MS and a deadbeat husband, but I think there's more to the story than she cares to admit. I doubt this marriage is salvagable, no matter how much counseling they go to. The only solution I see is for one of Springer's wealthy relatives to die and leave him an inheiritance, which should keep them afloat for a couple more years until he gambles all of that away.
percolata
Of all the bad judgment calls Phil has made, his siding with Bridget Marks is the one that flabbergasts me the most. Two courts have agreed that she coached these girls to say that their father molested them! Aside from the whole, bearing false witness, thing; just think of the nasty twisted thoughts she put in her children's heads. We all saw her, on camera, take them from placid to hysterical on the day their father took custody.

I would be asking myself how he could be so taken in by her but I guess the fact that he begins every sentence about her with the words, "Beautiful model" says it all. What a putz -- he totally deserves a daughter-in-law that makes incestuous pornography for a living. Good luck with that, Shil.

[Edited to say toMyraA and mutya, you sure do make a great comedy team. ]

No thoughts on today's show concerning the ex-woman...I could have sworn I've seen him/her before on television.
katymo
Me too, BlkChile401, it had to be Maury or something. Maybe on one of those discovery shows? Anyway, those kids are so screwed, both of the parents seem like total asses.
Drummouse
Pretty much all that's left to do after today's show with the she-dad is to stand by with a list of referrals for those kids. What a couple of knuckleheads those "parents" are! They could miraculously wrap this all up tomorrow and those kids are already destined for years of therapy.

"My dad's a woman, my uncle is actually my father, my mom is beating my dad over the head with the bible.... yet somehow even tho my dad is a woman my mom and dad were supposedly "married". THEN after they "divorce"(?), my she-dad has somehow remarried to a woman. Yet he's legally listed as a woman and same-sex marriage is not legal."

I'm sorry.... what was DrP talking about today??
Seems like this would have been prime FF3 material!!

I think so, too.

The ex-woman really looks weird when you look at him for a long time. Does he wear makeup to look more masculine? His skin looked like clay

Yeah, he was on the Maury show a while back. It was an epi with a bunch of transgenders and other 'oddities' to show how normal they can be. The guy on the Dr. Phil show was the most convincing looking, as his/her new gender, out of the whole bunch. Some of them just looked like worn out old tranny hookers. Even though Michael (that was his name, right?) is a bit overweight, he still looked way too 'hippy' for a guy in the few wide shots that he was in. I didn't hear an explanation about WHY he is considered, legally, to be a woman. Probably simply because he was BORN female. Or maybe genetically, he has X-X chromosomes, like a woman. MEDICALLY, he is a man, because he had mastectomy, and hysterectomy, and (I assume) penile 'construction' --- I don't know the term. Plus, he's probably on constant hormone therapy to try to fool his body into thinking it is male, in order to grow hair, be an asshole, etc.

What I don't get is, if Michael goes so much against God (per his ex-wife), why the hell did she ever marry him to begin with??? I'll grant you that he is not perfect, but he's probably the strongest father-figure that those kids have ever had. The ex strikes me as the type to use her religion for her own ends, rather than being a true caring Christian. Frankly, she made her own bed when she married this person and 'had' (adopted?) children with him. He, and his 'transgender-ness' was good enough for her then. Now that the marriage has gone down the crapper (big surprise --- marriage with a transgender going sour) she wants to use this against him.

I sort of filled in the blanks for myself and figured that she fell in love with the ex and married him (and credited him with being a him then), and then either before he took off with her friend, or right after, began to hit the born-again circuit pretty hard. So either it was a reaction to the rejection/betrayal and a convenient way to dismiss him as being a man "in the eyes of God" and a way to deal, or it was her turning into a religious zealot (no offense to Christians, she does not read as a true Christian in my book) that turned him off and, apparently, her kids. Perhaps she was so upset when he left her/said he hadn't loved her for 5 years after she had loved him unconditionally (we assume, if she married him knowing he wasn't born a man) that she blew a gasket and found God in a big way, and just happened to pick a church that has a very narrow tolerance policy.

mootermutt, I just checked my tape b/c I remembered hearing wifey comment on this at one point. Early in the show, there was film of her testifying (at the divorce hearing?). She's asked by an off-screen female attorney voice: "Does Michael have anything that resembles a penis?" Her answer was: "When Michael takes his clothes off, he is a woman." Presumably, then, he hasn't gone through all that's necessary for his complete transformation. There's also a quote from Michael that he's had a hysterectomy and mastectomy, with no mention of other surgeries completed or planned.

I think we have some evidence that Kitty doesn't really like BBJ's new girly (Does she have a name, I think someone should name her, TWOP-style, ofcourse!) I mean C'mon look at this, no woman would let any other woman walk around like a canary, unless they really hate that person. Ow and if I'd ever see a guy looking like BBJ does in that picture, I would just NOT trust him, and I'm naive, very, very, very naive....

This week Dr. $hil is just worse that terrible, well at least here in The Netherlands, Ye Old Europe.
Monday we had to watch Kitty decorate the Dr. $hil office (why?) and how she kept on saying thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you as they showed the staff (again, why?) Then we had to watch Meredith Brooks perform (now I liked Bitch, but, why?)
On to tuesday, Kitty interviews Cher (why?) Kitty: "We have sooooo much in common" (why?)
My reaction: No you don't, now get of my telly!
$hill, please, next time you drag your wifey in front of a camera make sure she's on dope so she won't look like a hysterical rabbit.

Can anybody tell me for how long that $hill takes on a town bullshit is gonna continue??? It's sooo sooo sooo ........... (my english fails me, I can't think of a word to describe it, sorry)
Hexele
Can anybody tell me for how long that $hill takes on a town bullshit is gonna continue???

Wait, wait, wait....you're saying in Europe they're actually showing the Texas Town of Tragedy series???? Or is it just the first couple of tapes over and over again? 'Cause here, you don't hear a PEEP about that town. I think via public outcry they effectively quelled the horrible Rain of Phil that afflicted them, somehow, and wouldn't I like to learn how to make that happen worldwide?

(Hey MyraA, let me know when pics aren't "workplace friendly"! hee!)

And Robin's no prize herself in that photo: black lace over a white shift? With a gap in the middle? And beige shoes?? I'll say it again, the woman has NO fashion sense. And $hill, you don't wear a white tie with a black waistcoat. Ehh, the whole photo is a fashion crime. "Beverly Hillbillies" indeed.

This guy is like a third-rate business consultant who solves every problem with the same useless Powerpoint deck.

Ok, I hate Dr Phil and most of the time I think he needs a sweaty gym sock stuffed in is mouth but I did snicker a bit when he asked the first mother on today's show if she had left her crown in the green room. I also thought his advice to her was pretty right on. How can this be that I'm in agreement with him?
Tunia

Do not fear, timeonmyhands...as the old adage says, "Even a stopped clock is right two times a day." Yes, there are times that even WE at TWoP will actually agree with Shill.

I got the impression too that Springer Jones' family was well-to-do. They said he worked for his dad before he became a "financial adviser" (Ye Gads! I feel sorry for the chumps he wrangled that final $85,000.00 from). SO I wondered why they weren't mooching off of his family instead of her mother. I think there might be more to the story about why Spinger stopped working for Daddy and maybe some estrangement to go along with it.

We used to have someone here who knew the Dad from FUF II. If you're still lurking please give us some dish.
lispunk
Yes, Phil did give some good advice today. His shows are better when they are dealing with people whose lives are not all that bad. Crazy Mom has her issues with perfectionism but there is no sexual abuse, gambling or indebtedness, so Phil was able to handle it.

One of the scariest things about Crazy Mom was that she is a teacher. I could have sworn that education majors have to take some psychology courses. She must have forgotten all of that right after the final exams.

Mr. Suckhole saw the error of his ways after reading the message boards, huh? The producers could slap on the videos of the people's problems, send the people to the message board the next day and all their problems would be solved. That way, Phil wouldn't even have to deal with the bothersome guests!

Trust me....teachers have some of the most f*cked up kids around...next to the kids of guidance counseloers. IMHO.

I was ok with the schoolwork checking, though.

.in.the.name.of.all.that.is.holy.

And I thought this weeks $hill couldn't get any worse... (see previous post) ... I was wrong, terribly wrong. $hill and Kitty interviewing Dubya and wife Bush, THAT was just too much to take, just too much. Dubya, send your army to $hills McMansion, talking about terrorists! $hill you're terrorizing (is that a word?) my telly! Get of it! NOW!

But, since he couldn't stop talking about "his" family first book, I think he'll be proud to hear that this show caused some good family bonding.
MommaMutya: Bushes on Dr. $hill? Tells you a lot about the Bush family doesn't it?
DaddyMutya: Everybody knows they have some serious psychological problems
Mutya: Who, the Bushes or...
MommaMutya: Dubya's IQ is commen knowlegde.
SisterMutya: *fell of her chair laughing* OUCH!

Some DaddyMutya comments while watching $hill: Idiot. Can we watch something else? Idiot. "Your" book? Idiot. Morron. Idiot. I wanna watch sports. Idiot. I really wanna see that soccermatch. Idiot. Fraud. Idiot. Lair. Idiot. Can we puh-lease switch channels? Idiot. I could do that! Idiot. My God he really is an idiot!

Wait, wait, wait....you're saying in Europe they're actually showing the Texas Town of Tragedy series????

I don't know how many shows i've seen, not a lot, it's beyond annoying. I really can't relate to most of $hills guests (as in: You call THAT a problem???) but that is just surreal. I sit there the whole time just tinking: How is it possible for such a powerfull country to be so... messed up, weird, crazy... well, you get the point.

And Robin's no prize herself in that photo

Heee! I didn't even notice, canary dress distracts a bit. But you're right, she has no fashion sense at all, sad, because she seems to think she does...

Man, I don't normally post in this thread but today's show has me so upset that I feel ill.

(uh, the show on the wife beating up the drunk husband)

More later after I have time to process this.
Miss Feather
I normally don't post but this show bothered me today. I know the husband is a drunk and all but if the roles were reversed and the husband was whooping the wife's ass like that he'd be in jail!

Me, three. Sweet Jesus, those poor kids...and the wife, kicking/stepping and slapping the nearly dead husband on that kitchen floor. Child Services has got to take those kids away.

Me, three

Me, four. There are no words.
onlyinPV
There.Are.No.Words. Dr. Shill should stick to the easy stuff like celebrities and husbands who don't help around the house. Because when he gets people as seriously messed up as this family he is so clearly out of his league.

Wife: My husband is a raging alcoholic and I beat him when he drinks. I know I have a problem, help me!
Dr Shill: You have a problem! You beat your husband!
Wife: I know! Help me! Help me stop!
Dr. Shill: look at these pictures and tell me you don't have a problem! Admit it!
Wife (getting irritated): I know I have a problem! That's why I'm here! Because I have a problem! I came to you for help!
Dr Shill: Oh, you're going to get angry with me? How dare you! Admit you have a problem!

And so on. When in doubt, get loud and just keep repeating yourself. I couldn't help feeling bad for this fucked up couple who thought they might actually get something useful out of going onto this show. But I'm sure they got a copy of his latest book, so hey, he did all he could.
pharmd
That was such a disturbing show. Those poor children.

I saw the "warning, disturbing footage ahead" disclaimer before the show began, but I had no idea HOW disturbing the show would be. Unbelievable.
busterbrown
I wonder why the husband didn't rate a trip to "La Hacienda"? Is it only the young, female, photogenic addicts who get the opportunity to get "best in the world" treatment?

Also? Wife needs to be in jail and the kids removed. NOW. I might be a little more sympathetic if wife had seemed a little bit more concerned about her situation rather than her mascara. That whole story made me ill.
MyraA
Shill mentioned to Steve that he did not know what caused his alcoholism-whether it was caused by genetics or possibly something else. Just then a thought went through my head. Is Steve Native American? Is this what Shill was alluding to by this comment?
percolata
Me ninth.

Yeah, MyraA, I wondered the same thing; not that Native Americans are the only ones who have that genetic component but such severe alcoholism usually does follow a family tradition. Now their kids will have it on both sides.

I might be a little more sympathetic if wife had seemed a little bit more concerned about her situation rather than her mascara.

Word, BusterBrown! Throughout the entire show she was digging that little wad of tissue under her evil little eyes till I just wanted to yank it away from her and say: Pay attention! You are a vicious abusive, husband beating, childhood wrecking, murderous wretch who should be sobbing in shame over these videos and all you seem to care about is looking good on TV!

Why didn't she go straight to jail when her husband was in the hospital with the kick marks all over him? If the genders had been reversed there would have been no question about it. I don't think the police have to wait for anyone to press charges these days.
Roobear
Me tenth.

Did he ever figured out why the husband is an alcoholic? Although the wife is an asshole & she should be put in jail, his alcoholism problem is full of bunk. No one put a gun to his head & told him to get drunk on a daily basis. I have no sympathy for either one of them.

Why didn't Shill call CPS on these bastards?! He's basically putting a band-aid on a hemorrhage.
KimberleeJean
onlyinPV,

I so totally agree. Even though this woman is a maniac (dad's no gem either, driving drunk with your kids in the car?), it grated that this woman was basically prostrating herself in front of the Wise and Almighty Phil, and he seemed to be doing all he could to get her angry.

Make no mistake, he was provoking her to anger on purpose.

As many of you have pointed out, Shill was breathtakingly out of his league here. Basically, he was like

* admit your problem is bad! Bad!!!!

* your kids shouldn't be in this envoironment (duh)

* you shouldn't drink so much (double duh)

I'm such a cynic about this show I was mildly suprised he didn't send them to a Sandals Resort.
