I also find it strange how the other 3 brothers looked SO much alike, then there's Makai. Mom??

I thought the same thing. Mikai resembled no one in that family.

After the last two days of being out of his league. Dr Shill-Maury-Springer goes back to what he does best. Todays show~

'My Life is a Mess!'
These guests say their lives are spinning out of control! Teresa says she's clumsy and tired of tripping, falling, and hurting herself. Will she always be an accident waiting to happen? Then, meet a stay-at-home mom whose clutter crisis has her kids leaping and climbing over things just to get around the house! Why does she choose to be the queen of chaos? Plus, a husband's do-it-yourself repairs are turning his home upside down. His wife is fed up and wants Dr. Phil to "fix" him!

I think the Mom was very pretty. I like women with large eyelids--very Rennaissance looking (Susan Sarandon, etc) Just sayin...

I don't think the mom is pretty, but she did have Betty Davis eyes.

Now see, this is the Phil Fest I enjoy.Goodwill drop-off center as decor? Wife's fault. Dilapidated hovel with exposed wires and asbestos filtering down on the scrambled eggs? Wife's fault. Untrained dogs leaving turds the size of Rocky's arm on the divan? Wife's fault.

Phil gets more men off than a Penthouse centerfold and really belongs on Spike or ESPN. Women can't have ADD, they're just lazy. Women can't be frustrated at living in a fire trap (although the loss of those Danbury Mint commemorative plates would be a blessing), they're just nags. The creme de la cock was Phil's admonishing the pregnant woman that a real mother does not let her baby crawl among animal droppings, as if this were her intent. Dogs gone wild? No, the woman is just clueless.

I'm loving the commercial aspect more and more. I imagine what dot coms Phil would gift me with were I to sob on his tie. Whack a Hag confidential hit services (m-i-l trouble) or Suck 'At Fat liposuction service (for my ponderous thighs). Gee, Ethel, I'm getting an idea...

I had a day off from school/work due to the snowstorm yesterday, and I watched. Everyone involved in this revolted me. From the parents' cagey reactions, to Dr. Phil and his smarm. "I'll tell you what I think [about your predatory ways]...after this commercial break."

"Dear Dr. Phil, I fear my son is a sexual predator, and instead of calling a real shrink, I decided to whore out and humiliate my whole family on television."

Yup, exactly. The father creeped me out just as much as the son. I almost got the feeling he was playing it up for the cameras, his reaction to the "truth"(that they would've already confirmed had they just sat their daughter down and ASKED HER or had a child psych do it) being all about how he has to "deal with this crap now" and how "[his] life is hell". Yeah, your daughter's been abused yet it's all about you. There's far more going on in that family. I was almost relieved when the last 10 mins were cut to allow my local news to break in with the pope's tracheotomy. I guess I can assume that Dr. Phil turned to the family and urged all of them to get into counseling(since both the mother and father said they were both molested). Somehow I doubt it.
supie
The Dad (aka Steven Root) seriously creeps me out. His emotions seem fake and his concern is all about himself. The Mom (aka Nancy Grace) also bugs me. I don't get how anyone can leave their child with someone they even suspect of touching her.I don't think trying to touch a girl his own age is predatory just a piggish teenager, but when he was "tickling"his sister with his hand between her legs you could see him looking back towards his brothers as if to see if they could see what he was doing, that is predatory. This kid is seriously disturbed he can't even get out a whole sentence. I don't know what help is out there but I would've moved heaven and earth to get help, a long time ago.
The news cut in on me too so I don't know how it ended. I am assuming Dr. Phulofit put him into counseling before the sun sets today. The whole family needs help. The roots of this dysfunctional family are very deep, and will need much intervention. I just doubt that the only help is to be found on national TV.

I was totally skeeved out by the parents. There's so much more to this story than we are hearing. I found it interesting that both of them tried so hard to cry after hearing the results of the polygraph, but yet neither one of them managed to squeeze out even one tear. I thought they were going to pop a blood vessel they were straining so hard.

The Dad was most upset because his life has been hell lately and now he has to deal with more of this crap, so his life will be hell for longer. WTF? That's what he's concerned with? Not his sick son or his abused daughter?

CPS needs to get to that house...PRONTO!
DrCher
CPS needs to get to that house...PRONTO!

Will charges be pressed against Makai? Because if Joe from down the street molested his daughter, the parents would of had the police involved ASAP.
timeonmyhands
And the father was uhm a little, er... revealing. When that question was read, he went all 'that's my daughter! I love her more than anything! (apparently including his sons) Then went on in a decidedly disturbing manner about how this is going to make his, the father's, life even worse and as if his life wasn't bad enough. Because it's all about him.

I think these parents enjoyed being victims in this situation. I think that's exactly why they went to Dr Phil in the first place. They knew he would feed into their victim-ness without holding them accountable for their (very large) part in this. If they had done the responsible thing like go to the police, child protective services or evena fricken therapist they would have been held accountable for what was going on in their house. An interesting point is that in many states (maybe all, I'm not sure) failure to protect your child, even from a sibling, is enough to get all your children removed from you homes (if the situation is extreme enough of course). I really hope that now that these people have gone on tv someone will step in and get this family some real help.

I noticed that none of the kids seemed real keen on big brother. Could it be that there was abuse going on with them when they were younger too? Child molestation is a crime of opportunity and I wouldn't be suprised if this guy had more than one victim in his family.
katymo

Wordy McWord! I told my mom the same thing and also thought something fishy was going on there. Could explain why he's the odd man out since he got different genes, I dunno. I also still think there's something off with those parents and it's bugging me. That poor 4 year old.

The father tried so hard though. Even took off his glasses for "effect", bless his heart. Shudder.

It really bothers me that they give this kid a polygraph on TV, and shame on DP for going along with it.

Today's episode:

Rick and Jody (the do-it-yourself couple) need to get a divorce. She's a nagging bitch - totally reminded me of Peggy Hill.

The dog couple really disgusted me. I would not want my kid crawling around on their nasty carpet or getting in the middle of the dogs' roughhousing. Dangerous and unhealthy. Dr. Phil didn't help them at all - just threw money at it, as usual. I bet those dogs will be back in the house after a week outside. They would be better off with an owner who will train them.

Dr. Phil's plug for all of his sponsors at the end was classic: "Please shop with these people [i.e. Loews, Renovationexperts.com] because they really love to help families." Yeah, like Home Depot only caters to single gay men. Fuck off, Phil.
Gemmadoll
Rick and Jody (the do-it-yourself couple) need to get a divorce. She's a nagging bitch - totally reminded me of Peggy Hill.

All I could hear was Kitty Forman. If I had the misfortune to be married to that passive-aggressive slag bottomed pencil dick, nagging would be the least of it. Before I'd sleep beneath a leaky roof or go ass over teakettle on a moat in the basement that the motherscratcher jackhammered and then abandoned, I'd chase him around with a cattle prod. Toss my commemorative plates at his neck like Frisbees. Poke him with clippers.

Phil was on slag-bottom's side, simply because he's a dude. Slag probably promised her he'd pick up a hammer and work his butt off and once he had her moved into that hovel he stopped doing anything. To make mommy mad. What do you do if you can't afford a contractor, can't do the work yourself and the person who promised to do it sits on his butt and dares you to mention that the exposed wiring in the bathroom shocks you every time you take a whizz? Every woman on today's show got the tsk tsk from Phil. To a severe degree. You'd have thought pregnant woman was the one soiling the rug, and that hoarding woman lived alone. Phil isn't a fan of the gland, and today he reminded us with vigor. Why exactly do we NAG but they simply reiterate? Why are we shrews and the "ole boys" simply detail oriented?

I'm tired of his woman-hatin, commercial whorin, shiney-domed holier-than-thou Texas crapspeak. And yet, I cannot look away.
sarcastic chick
I agree that the husbands in all three cases were far from blameless, just wife #2 seemed overly shrill and irritating.

Husband #1 should have picked up a trash bag and cleaned some of the mess himself. Since he lives in the house, he obviously contributes to the mess. But no, blame it on the woman. By Phil's own admission on a previous show, stay-at-home moms work the equivalent of two full-time jobs. Yet she's the one who needs to make an effort to pick up one room a day or go without makeup (Lord knows us little women can't go without makeup for one second, let alone one day!) Phil should have told the guy that he couldn't take a shower or drive to work or something. Why is the wife always punished?
NeonJungle
This was the worst example of exploitation I have ever seen. Yes, they signed up for it. But it shows a complete lack of class to air all of this. If Dr. Shill truly was interested in helping this family, he'd have done it privately. Forever, this will walk around with them, in public now.

I suffered from Dr. Shill and Robotox fatigue before, and now I am nauseous with it. Maury, make room -- you got some competition, dude.
PersonaAuGratin
I noticed that none of the kids seemed real keen on big brother.  Could it be that there was abuse going on with them when they were younger too?  Child molestation is a crime of opportunity and I wouldn't be suprised if this guy had more than one victim in his family.

I missed the beginning of this, but the brother's untempered remarks puzzled me. My husband said that it seemed the youngest saw how much hatred the father had, and knew they'd better be seen to be towing the party line or face the same estragement.

My best friend and her sister told me their father performed oral sex on both of them frequently. This was in the '60s, and when last I heard, the three brothers, and the mother until just before her death, maintained that the daughters were both lying. {It only ever came out because they had decided separately (but simultaneously) to enter therapy, and because the dad was a GP, they were beholden to notify the state licensing board}
Drummouse

HELLO!! I was thinking the same thing. Get a couple of rolls of the large lawnwork-sized garbage bags and start filling them up! WHY do these husbands go on these shows with their wives and just sit there, shrugging their shoulders, saying "yeah, it sure is hard to live in".
Where was the infamous Phil-ism of "someone acts the way they do because THEY CAN"?! Get that husband a gift certificate from backbone.com so he can tell his wife "we are NOT going to live like this!".
Then go to gotnads.com and get him a gift certificate for a pair so after he uses up all those trashbags he can make it clear that such a mess is NOT going to happen again. Take some initiative for the love of pete!

And to DrP (with the now perfect dog to match the rest of his perfect family)... when you simply throw money at a problem, you do NOTHING for others sitting on the other side of the cameras who MIGHT could be helped from any advice you give to the ones on the stage. From what they thought might have offered some insight to work on a similar problem soon turns into "heck... we can't afford that fix... forget it".

Btw... so are we going to send FUF3 (the molestors) on a vacation so they can all bond? I thought that was how that stuff was solved (ie. FUF1 & 2)??
Peanutbuttercup
I think I hate Phil almost as much as he hates me. He doesn't know me, but since I don't have a penis, I think it's safe to assume that he hates me.
So Phil believes there are no accidents in life? We create everything that happens to us? I guess that little girl who got crushed by boulders while studying at her desk this past week out in California wanted to die in a pile of rubble and somehow made it rain three times more than normal? Asshole!
Phil's response to the last couple, the one with the dogs, from yesterday, made me really angry. It's not enough that he has to exploit children on his show, now he has to ruin the lives of innocent dogs, too? Typical response to problem dogs: toss them in the backyard. If they are lucky, they will get a doghouse and occasional food and water. Most of the time, people who are irresponsible enough just to abandon their dogs in the yard aren't responsible enough to provide flea treatments and heartworm preventatives, either. For the $$ spent on putting up a fence and installing new carpeting, Phil could have had all of those dogs professionally trained and housebroken several times over.
And Phil, your new dog is a pit bull mix. Possibly pit bull x lab. She looks like a sweetie. He'll probably dump her in the yard, too.
ZoeMc
As a board member and volunteer for our local humane society, Dr. Phil's "solution" to the dog problem infuriated me. Yes the dogs need a fence so that it's easier for the owners to get them outside to go to the bathroom, but they also need TRAINING. Untrained dogs inside are just as untrained outside. Only once they're outside they become a neighborhood nuisance rather than just a family nuisance. The neighbors can look forward to digging, incessant barking, escaping, and the smell of feces piling up over the fence. Once the neighbors complain enough, they'll abandon the dogs at the local humane society, and walk away certain that someone with a big farm will want to adopt their wild, untrained dogs. At the shelter we call that "Jesus's Farm." Hey, some days goulish humor is all that gets us through.

I have two adult dogs, two foster puppies I've had since they were 7 days old, two cats, and two teens. All the dogs are housebroken and obedience trained. It CAN be done and, honestly, without too much effort other than confinement and consistency. If these two have done such a bad job with their dogs, I can't wait to see what they do with a kid!

On a side note....these owners should have been told that merely cleaning the carpet isn't enough. You've got to use an enzymatic cleaner that actually kills the enzymes in the urine (Nature's Miracle or Oxy Clean will do the trick), otherwise the dog can still smell it and will return to the same spot to eliminate.
sarcastic chick
In addition to Dr. Phil being smarter than all the rest of us poor peons, now his dog is smarter, too. He housebroke her in 1 day! Everybody bow before the altar of Dr. Phil: Relationship Rescuer, Lie Detector, and now, Expert Dog Trainer.

So Dr. Phil has a new mutt & it is a pitbull(?)!! Maybe his new mutt would do us a big favor & maul him & Miss Botox.

How come Mr. Shill doesn't do Out of Control Teens?!
I want to see Raymond Moses (from Jenny Jones) again.

Besides, he needs new material & another reason for us to hate him.

That cracked my shit up. Ya mean, I don't have to shower and get pretty for anybody today? woo hoo!!! Once again, in Shil's world: the man provides, the woman cleans. Even if what the man provides is a hellacious mess.
At the shelter we call that "Jesus's Farm."

Ghoulish, yes, but way hella funny.

I think you could include the Teens Addicted to Cough Syrup episode in that category.

Thursday's polygraph officially puts Phil in Maury territory. How long before he torments us with "Who's My Baby's Daddy?"
mimsy61
At least Maury seems to care and show compassion when Marisol tests the 10th guy to find her baby's daddy. Maury had used the polygraph to prove which idential twin fathered the baby. When DP used it on Mikia, he was acting like the polygraph was a branch of CSI. DP just seems to yell I'm a swarmy, insincere smut and on to the next show".

Bad Rap - Myths about Pit Bulls

Phil needed to hook those people up with a Dog Trainer. Eventually they will get rid of their "beloved" dogs - their behaviour will get worse now that they are relagated to the backyard, with hardly any attention.

complete word to your whole post. We will see this family on Super nanny after a few years of not training their kids.
I was not too impressed by the enzyme cleaners, once pee is in a carpet it is there to stay, but the enzyme ones do work better than ordinary ones.

Yikes! Return of the psycho in-laws! Carol and Wanda were absolutely horrible. Shame on all four of them for letting the relationship deteriorate to the point where Wanda is referring to Carol as a "c-word" in front of the grandchildren. Way to teach your kids manners and conflict resolution, losers. Both mothers were way too involved in this family. Memo to Carol and Wanda: You're not the victims in this!

BTW, I love how Wanda has the nerve to tell her daughter that she's marrying beneath her class. Yeah, Wanda, nothing says classy like calling someone a cunt in front of the grandkids. I wonder which finishing school taught her that.
cheekymonkey
I watched the show on the in-laws yesterday and it upset me when the man said that his mother-in-law rubbed her granddaughter's nose in her soiled panties as a form of pottytraining her. I could really feel his anger and helplessness. But what got me was that Dr. Phil, who's always yapping about the kids, didn't even touch that! Of course, Bitch Wanda would have denied it, but she already made herself out to be a world-class psycho liar, so I don't doubt it happened. IF I were Dr. Phil, I would have told her that that cruel act alone was enough to keep the kids away from her. Did anyone else catch this?
DeepRed
IF I were Dr. Phil, I would have told her that that cruel act alone was enough to keep the kids away from her. Did anyone else catch this?
I didn't, cheekym., but that's because I was overwhelmed by the toxic misery of the rest of the show.

Shill dropped the ball yet again (big surprise). He should have told those toxic old harridans to shut up and back the f--- off. And poor Ernie (Carol's son) looked like he was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Look what all that family misery has done to him. He needs a lot of therapy so can gain the confidence to stand up to those old hags and tell them where to get off. I can't use the word "toxic" enough in connection with those two old miseries.

I KNOW, cheekymonkey, that was unbelievable. Both of those horrid old bats made me want to smash my TV, but that charming little anecdote took the cake. What an obscenely evil, abusive thing to do to a child. I couldn't even to that to a dog! I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the good doctor to rip her a new one over that but she got a total pass. Disgusting.

And, yes, throwing the c-word around in front of the grandchildren? Someone please kick this woman's ass NOW.
CaptainSnarky
I've avoided watching Dr. Shill because he makes my blood boil. However, I watched today because I was too lazy to go into the office to work on the dissertation. Well, thanks to Dr. Shill, here's what I've learned:

Black men are still predatory weirdos. Yes, they have fetishes about long, silky hair--just like all the white women in his audience! White women in danger! White women in danger!

Speaking of women, if you have a problem with your man watching pornography, there's something wrong with you. It's probably because it gets in the way of your Pretty Pink Pony Princess Lifestyle (complete with Big Ass Wedding). Am I to believe that this couple is getting hitched in a few weeks and the porn all of a sudden became this huge problem? Dr. Shill, speaking out of both sides of his mouth again, was absolutely incoherent about pornography. He rambles on about how "stand up" and wonderfullrific this guy is; he can tell just by looking at him. Please. He looked like Frat Boy A to me. And then he switches to this utterly scripted, bullshitterrible mess about how when a dude is looking at porn, he's devaluing someone's kid and then how this is a sick, sick, sick industry full of sick sick people. But wait, Shill! You just said that hubby-to-be was a stand up guy and he was just doing what guys do! Whatever shall you do? Now, you tell him he's got a serious problem. Riiiiiiiight.

Thanks, Dr. Shill! Without your ambiguously racist and sexist commentary, I wouldn't know how to exist!

What the fuck does Shill know about pornography other than the utterly outdated antiporn crapola from 1985? Other than characterizing someone in the industry as a victim or a predator, he can't really say that much about it. Anyone can get addicted to anything--the addiction does not reflect on the rightness or the wrongness of the product itself--hell, even cocaine has it's proper use. However, for Shill to actually discuss porn would mean he'd actually have to admit that he's viewed some (read: a LOT) and that would shatter his minions' deified image of his Baldness.

How did this man get a psychology degree? He seems utterly and completely incompetent and incapable of dealing with anyone who doesn't tell him what he's already decided is The Truth. When someone does that he a) switches to the other partner, b) tells them they're wrong and/or c) cuts immediately to commercial.

I hate this bastard. Fuck off, Dr. Shill.
ladysaw
Still predatory weirdos?

This was the weirdest show. The brotha was curling his hair with hot irons. I won't even get into the self hatred that I think is part of the undercurrent of his issues.

What I meant is that in Dr. Phillworld, black men are every bit the stereotypical Menace to Society. And women are The Problem. Dr. Philworld is not like our world.

Today's show about the couples with sexual "problems" was just one more stop on the train to Maury-ville. DrP has his vision of how each case is gonna go and if the "contestants" don't play along he gets flustered and swerves all over the road.
This was another example of if DrP is no going to do anything to help these people then he's only coming across as another shock jock. Once again he offered these folks NOTHING. He seemed to struggle to stay with his script even as the contestants would change their story or care less about what he had to say.
These couples needed to be in legitamit therapy, beit together or seperate.
Hair-guy was definitely in need of some good old fashioned psychotherapy.
Porn-watcher's problem may have been more common but his fiance is the one who truly needed attention. Her entire demeanor and affect were red flags enough. Heaven forbid we call off a lifetime of misery and porn because we've already dyed the shoes and rented the hall!
Ms. Confused-morals needs some big time therapy. She's trying to live two lives.... one of morality (to please family, etc) and one of pre-marital sex (to please her "fiance"). Issues anyone??
fictionista
Speaking of women, if you have a problem with your man watching pornography, there's something wrong with you.

I have to disagree with this statement. I know from personal experience. For most women, it's the lying and sneaking around that's the problem. This guy admitted that he can't stop doing this, so it's not like it's a mutually agreed on part of their sex life. It's an addiction, and she doesn't want it to be a part of their marriage. I don't see how she is wrong. Now, if she marries him anyway, then tries to change him, that would be wrong. I think he should definitely get help, and not for the reasons Dr. Phil said. He needs help because this thing has power over him. I don't think it's any different than alcoholism or drug abuse (as far as it all being addiction. Obviously, porn isn't as physically destructive). Anyway, that's just my opinion.

The girl who thinks sex is dirty needs help too. I don't even know where to start with her.
SiameseCatLady

Shill never ceases to disappoint does he? The name calling was baby stuff compared to rubbing a little child's nose in shit - from a sanitary standpoint not to mention a moral one. If anyone ever did that to a child of mine, all bets would be off and it'd be a cold day in hell before they were allowed to spend time with that child.

And about the porn - wonder what Shill thinks about BBJ's centerfold girlfriend? Was she a victim of some sharp operators who got her to get all naked on camera through trickery? And if so, is she still trading on being a centerfold and making money off that dirty dirty porn? C'mon Shill, if porno boyfriend wasn't buying the stuff BBJ's girlfriend would still be working at the Dairy Queen in Podunk and he probably wouldn't be interested in her.

No sex girl needed help. Of course Shill's not helping her get any.

I think hair guy had other problems than just hair and also needed help, but again Shill dropped the ball.

Wonder why no one on today's show got a nice romantic trip? They were gypped!

The girl who thinks sex is dirty needs help too. I don't even know where to start with her.

Neither did Dr. Shill.

The hair fetish guy was so incredibly creepy! Just the fact that he was feelin' up someone's hair at a family reunion would be enough to kick him to the curb, but come on, 100 affairs and prostitutes? Hello disease!

God, what the hell does he know about sex & all that muckety-muck that he talked about yesterday. What an idiot.
And that stupid bitch who thinks that sex is dirty?! Sheesh... Get a life!

These couples are patheic & so is Shill.

Oh my God. The first couple today was awful. Phil, a husband pulling a gun on his wife is not an example of emotions running high. That's abuse. Plain and simple. And pushing the kids is abuse. That's a dealbreaker, by Phil's definition. Not only does the husband have a history of irresponsible and violent actions, but he also has a weapon available. Yeah, let's move those kids to Ohio right away. Hooray to that poor woman for staying in California far, far away from that lunatic. She should have his parental rights terminated. They don't just need to "sit down," as Phil so eloquently puts it. Once again, Phil sides with the man and fails the woman and kids.

Phil, he's violent! He shouldn't see the kids! Plain and simple!

How sweet of Phil to set up the phone line and offer to hop in his plane to pick up the children within an hour should someone call in. I only wish I could be so famous and rich when I grow up. NOT.
I smell a big fat rat with that woman being her so called friend She knows exactly what he did with those kids, as I'm sure she helped him.

If the father has been in jail all this time, and the mother thinks he tried to lure her to the woods to kill her, I seriously don't think those kids are still alive.
If I were sitting in a jail, why wouldn't I tell the truth? Because I would be afraid of being charged with murder and knowing I will never get out.
What a sad story, and unfortunetly, not a very rare one nowadays.

I think you're right, Diane63. I hope to God Lisa has those kids because I think the only other possibility is that they are dead. The only reason she didn't tell (at least that I can think of) is that she's trying to avoid prosecution.

No matter what she knows or doesn't know, she's a smug bitch, and I'm glad Phil called her on her flip attitude and stupid little jokes. Privacy, my ass. She's involved. Poor Tina. And those poor kids.

I can't totally condemn Phil's phone line and plane offer. Sadly, he may be the last hope for Sam and Lindsey. At least he's doing more for these kids than he did for Mikai's little sister.

ETA: After reading the Dr. Phil boards, I'm confused. Was Lisa Dan's friend or his mother? I thought she looked too young to be his mother, but for some reason, the show led me to that conclusion.

Was Lisa Dan's friend or his mother?

She was his very good friend. Fishy.
she's trying to avoid prosecution

Definetly.

As for the plane comment, I guess it just rubs me wrong the way he is always flaunting the money issue. Like the truck driver last week, that he berated because he didn't fly home when his daughter was hospitalized. I suppose it makes more sense how in his little world, he is just a hop, skip away from flying anywhere. Not many people have that luxury.

If ex-husband no. 1 was so desperate to be near the chirrun, he should move his fat ass to California and live near them. If he's such a great dad, he won't mind moving across the country to be with them.
I actually thought the "friend" from the second story today was telling the truth, at least mostly. I hope we hear the results of the polygraph eventually. And I don't hold out hope for finding those children alive. I am trying to remind myself that I used to be convinced Elizabeth Smart was dead, too.
Aunt Shelley
I missed part of the show (thanks annoying phone calls!), so did Lisa actually take a polygraph test? Or did Phil just ask if she would? Will there be an update? I really feel for those kids, poor things. Why must some parents so selfishly screw up their kids' lives?

She agreed to take one after the show so we didn't get to see it. I really hope he tells us the results, though, and keeps us updated on the situation. I got a bad feeling from the dad's best friend... I dunno, I didn't get the feeling she was being honest, especially with everything she sort of withheld from the police and Tina.

Those poor kids and their poor mother.

I agree with you about the plane comment in relation to the truck driver. As it was said after that episode aired, Phil failed to consider other factors in the truck driver's decision not to fly home (i.e. the practicality of abandoning a truck at the side of a freeway, job security, etc...) So, yeah, in that situation, "Hop on a plane" is inappropriate, impractical, and just plain stupid.

In this case, by offering to fly out and get the kids, Phil gives the co-conspirator a quick and easy way out of the situation that doesn't involve murder. And, sadly, Dr. Phil is respected by a lot of people in this country. If the kidnapper responds to the offer of help, plus the attorney and the counseling, that could look mighty good to a jury. Plus, the fact that the criminal has a "celebrity" advocate could garner media attention, something that narcissistic criminals tend to like. Just speculation on my part. I'm not defending Dr. Phil, because he's still a sleezebag, but for once he is actually doing something useful.

Can't believe Shill is taking the side of Abusive Daddy #1 - oh, wait, yes I can, it was all the wife's fault for being a fat bitch (and having gastric bypass to lose weight instead of following the Ultimate Weight Loss Challenge) that he was abusive to her and the kids. Nice of Shill's deal breakers aren't always deal breakers.

I felt so bad for Tina. IMHO, she showed a lot of restraint not beating the living shit out of Lisa. I agree that the only reason Ex-Husband is willing to sit in jail is because it's nicer wherever he is now than where he would be if he told the cops what he really did with the kids. Don't know if Lisa knows the whole story, but I think she knows more than she's tellin' - "they didn't ask me" - yeah, bitch, you either know where those kids are and they are either not in danger (possibly because they're dead) or you're covering for your Sleazeball friend.

Yeah, Shill's still a famewhore and will use this to his advantage to make himself look like a caring, concerned humanitarian, but it is a shot at getting Sam and Lindsey back if they're still out there somewhere.
