re jedikt:
Given how little Mayweather has been given to do this season, and that the same is true of Charlie in The West Wing, I'd really like to see them trade roles one week and see if anyone on either set notices.

Given that Dule Hill (Charlie on WW) can act, and AM just. can. not (as seen in Homecoming), I think a blind tribble could tell the difference in 5 seconds.

Of course, a my wife suggested, you could replace AM with a chandelier and I'm not sure anyone would notice... ("Oooh... shiny! Pretty!")
tothemax
AM is not shiny, thank you very much. Pretty, god yes. I remember one ep where they showed his abs. Rock solid, people.
nelamm
I seem to recall more than one episode.
Sirus
Im sure the crew would notice.
I love AT montegamery ( forgive the spelling but its a bugger of a last name to spell) but there not doing him justice. Hell SM III gets a better deal then this guy.
Plus I think they would notice if Dule Hill took over as Helm officer. Charlie would suggest that Trip get fixed, tell the Captain to stop pissing off every alien species he comes across, tell Reed to settle down, exchange intelligent banter with Hoshi and play big brother to her and lets face it proberly get T'pol to smile.
If Mayweather took his place he would be shot on sight for trying to impersonate an interesting character

Interview with Anthony Montgomery at Trek Nation (as always with Trek Nation, beware headline spoilers down the left side of the page).

He's still excited to be there, although I think he says more words in this interview than he has onscreen all season.

Poor guy. Just give him some important things to do in an episode or two. Making the annual single "Travis Episode" is almost like a cruel joke.
Actionmage
I'd've posted earlier, but blahblahblahforumscakes.

Anyhoo, AM was fun in the Bridge scene: he was just itchingto take down a MACO or two!

Little bit by little bit Anthony and Travis are getting to do more, so I'm choosing to be cautiously optimistic. Although, I don't mind the Sleeveless/Shirtless Travis scenes. :)
Sirus
Ive just across the street from the Aotea centre where AT is currently signing autographs and taking pictures.
The price was 35 dollars and you know what it was worth every red cent. ( not that we have those anymore)
The guy is friendly, energetic and he loves his fans. I told him to keep up the good work - the little work the PTB allow him.
Listen up
Enought of Captain ' half arsed approuch to exploration' and Engineer ' gonna get me an exotic alien STD uh huh.'
Malcom should accidently space them and let T'pol take commend with Malcom as the trusty XO. A little eye candy for the intellecutual woman.
This way this great guy could at least do a little more. Whomever keeps the man on the goddamn ship should be flogged to a tenth of their life.

Then again with the rate that Captain Quantum keeps pissing off each local planet he comes across - with their fleet of ships no doubt- maybe Mayweather being smart, after all , ever heard of a helms men who was a red shirt ?
keckler
Sirus, I know you have information to get out but I really think you need to read this because it's really, really hard to understand you and even harder to read your post.
Sirus
Apologies about that, my bad

I really liked the scene with Travis and Hoshi. Positive thinking sometimes makes all the difference, and it's nice to see Travis express that. He has still retained a little of his, for lack of a better word, faith.

Also, for Travis, Enterprise is essentially his home. His family lives on a cargo ship, for the most part. Earth probably doesn't seem as much home as Enterprise or the Horizon. And to offer that bit of hope to Hoshi shows what compassion and heart he has.
Cleo256
And it's great to finally see them being friends, like Hoshi hinted at when he "died" in "Dead Stop". Although Travis being "positive attitude guy" makes him a bit like Neelix, I think someone on this ship needs to be that, and pairing him with Hoshi in that scene was just perfect. Now I understand why they're friends: she's always the first to get gloomy about anything, and he's there to remind her why she shouldn't.

Looks like AM is asking for more work for Travis: fourth paragraph.

Hopefully he'll get his wish.
Sirus
I read on an interview with the new man at the helm of Enterprise season four that they would go for more character development.

( Seriously I think they have to because the budget got cut by nearly 50 percent. Nice one UPN )

Still character development is a GOOD thing. I really would like to see more behind Mayweathers cheerful demenour. For example why is he so cheerful and is it due to some sort of pharmacutical means and if so why isnt he sharing ?

Seriously , Charcter development Good.
Actionmage
Hopefully this means I get my 3 year old wish: Travis lets out his InnerBoomer and tells CQ where to go in regards to "alien encounters."

The actor and the character have been neglected long enough! Travis was raised 'in space' and should be bringing another view to meeting new species, at least new to the majority of the Enterprise crew.
ETA: Spelling is good, too.
Sirus
Simmer down there anger boy. They were talking about their own post. Chill.
Sirus
I know he is a pretty good pilot, he hasnt crashed the ship as of yet. But is he the cheif Navigator like sulu was on TOS or just the Helmsmen ?

Also if he is the Navigator does he ...um . navigate ?
nelamm
Outside of TOS, the two positions have been combined, logically enough. So I'd say he's both.
Sirus
I know that it will never happen but wouldnt it be funny if he became the Kenny character of Enterprise.

Hoshi- Oh my god, they killed Travis .
Reed - You alien Bastards !!!
Make It So
Well, four seasons, and these writers still refuse to give May-Waste any lines of relevance. All he makes are rhetorical one-liners or statements of the obvious. It's getting old, Enterprise writers.

AM should seriously consider ditching this show. Although I guess any job is better than no job.
tothemax
At least Travis was kidnapped in SF. That's better than just happening to be in a shot like he was all of last season.
sl2266
Dang. Nice picture.

About halfway down the page. Pardon me while I go take a cold shower.

(Hopefully it's okay to link to other TWoP Pages - let me know if it's not. I'll edit. I'm still learning the rules.)
keckler
Aatrek, you've done it again! Brilliant.
tothemax
Mr. Montgomery, bringing the pretty.
Make It So
"Sir, who knew this "America's Top Model Finale Party" would be full of models!"

May-berry continuing to state the obvious.
djspinnet
Yep, stop stating the obvious lines and giving those bored faces.
Make It So
I feel kind of bad for Anthony Montgomery. This cancellation of this series can not be good for him. After watching him in the Finale, I've finally come to the conclusion that he is one of the worst actors on television. He finally gets some lines, and he delivers them as if he's some teenager in his first day of acting class. The stilted delivery...the over-enunciation of every word in the script (eg: always making sure to say "going to" instead "gonna")...gah.

Sadly, I see the B-movie circuit for him after this. He's not even good enough for the Barber Shop/Beauty Shop/Laundromat movies.
Cleo256
I saw him narrating a documentary TV show about a trip he and some friends took to Canada. They rafted down a river, saw some bears, went snorkling. Neat. I think it was called "Amazing Adventures", but I couldn't find anything about it anywhere on the Internet.

Jokes about how he used all his free time during shooting are left as an exercise for the reader.

Maybe he's not a bad actor, but was just watching Bakula too closely for "how to act on Star Trek" lessons. Maybe he'll land on his feet.
Cleo256
Who?
RiverThames
I remember reading about an Ens. Mayweather in the initial press release. Maybe they cut him out when the series got started?
tothemax
Maybe they cut him out when the series got started?

That must be what happened. What would have been the point of paying an actor to do essentially nothing for 4 years?

It's a series, aimed at kids and teens from what I can tell, that shows up sometimes on the weekends when I'm channel surfing. He hosted for a while, as did J. August Richards from Angel.
