I was just reminiscing about Spyder Games and realized there was no thread for it. I really wish that had been another season because I miss this show so much. Anyone else watch it?

It's about time that someone created a thread for this wonderfully trashy soap. I miss it so much. One of my favorite plots was Julie, the good girl who became a junkie because her husband was gay. Then, she started hooking up with Taylor's sleazy but yummy brother. Speaking of Taylor, Daphne never did get to smack that skank down. Plus, Barbara Crampton had a cool role as a therapist that could turn gay men straight. Ha! Good times there.

Spyder Games was awesome! I've regretted forever that I had just discovered it and watched few episodes only to have it vanish into the ether. Anybody know if you can get the episodes off of kazaa or something?

Great soap! I went back to college and could not watch the last few episodes. I was so disappointed to find out it was cancelled.

Why did it get cancelled? I heard something about how it was just too expensive to produce. I have a hard time believing that, though, since the production values were reeeally low, but MTV mostly does the ultra-cheap reality type shows, so maybe this show cost too much by comparison.

I mentioned this one a few months ago in the
TV Shows No One Remembers But Me thread!
LOL -- I first heard of it by overhearing a conversation 2 of my daughters were having: "Cherish did this...Cherish's dad did that....etc."
Since Cherish is the name of one of my granddaughters, I thought they were discussing family (although they normally call their brother-in-law "Fred," not "Cherish's dad.")
Great show!

It never was cancelled. They only created a certain amount of episodes. It wasn't meant to be long term.

I remember watching this show. I followed it, up until the final week. The September 11th tragedy had thrown everything off, because the final five episodes were to air that same week. However it was, Spyder Games aired twice a day. At 7:00 ET and 11:00 ET, if I can recall correctly. About a week later, apparently the last few episodes aired only at 7:00, and I never did get to see them. I had to go to MTV's message board to find out about what happened in the end. What was strange was how MTV usually specializes in encore presentations, but the show was never seen again afterwards. They used to always air reruns of Spyder Games, up until it had gotten into the final week. My guess is that Sept. 11th threw everything off and it was time for the network to move on.

I wish they would rerun this on MTV or somewhere else. I guess most of us will never get to see it again unless one finds copies from someone else. Which I am trying to do. Heh.

Actually, that's not true. I wound up corresponding with one of the creators and his boyfriend kind of on a fluke, and there were plans for a second season. Among other things, Terri Nunn from Berlin was supposed to turn up as the presumed-dead Carlyle mother, and Julie Brown was going to be Daphne's mother, but MTV gave it the axe despite an attempt at letter-writing and gathering outside TRL (which fell apart because post-9/11 they didn't let people gather for a time).
I wish I had taped the episodes in retrospect...it would be cool if they eventually made a DVD set.

I loved Spyder Games and I loved the main character Natalia. She was soo screwed over by her father and everything!! I couldn't believe that Boris allowed his best friend to rape Natalia. And to top it all off, it turned out that Natalia's youngest brother Sasha was really her son!! Talk about suspense!

Yeah, I totaly saw that comming, like 8 seconds before she blurted it out. No wonder she was so pissed when her brother got the gardianship in their dad's will.

I was totally into this show. And I remember it abruptly ending right before the 9/11 ordeal went down. MTV never brought it back. I was so bummed. They need to do something like that again.

OMG, I floved Spyder Games! Natalia absolutely rocked, and I was so sad when it went off the air. I was looking forward to what she was going to do with her job at that tree frog charity or whatever.
