As an OLTL fan I can tell you why I hate the crossover from that side. Obviously from an AMC standpoint I’m mad that Kinks won’t get to be with baby Miranda. From an OLTL perspective, I wanted Kelly’s baby to live. It would’ve been a Buchanan, a Lord, and a Cramer. That would’ve rocked. Because Kelly steals the baby that means at some point Kevin is going to look wronged. I hate Kevin. I don’t want him painted as some victim. And after the dead baby story a couple of years ago, the last thing Todd needs to be in involved in this story. They’ve already had his wife accuse him of rape. I just don’t see how he can recover from this too. And most of all, I hate to think of Dorian and Viki bonding with the baby and then having it taken away from them.

Most of this episode just didn't do it for me today. I enjoyed the Kendall attempting to bury Erica in verbal smackdowns, but I would have liked more. Let her keep talking!!!

One of my parents has brown eyes and the other has hazel eyes that are heavy on the brown. I was born with, and still have, blue eyes...and I am very definitely the genetic child of both of my legal parents! (Unless my mother's deep dark secret involves a guy who looks JUST like my father.) Greyish green would be recessive too, so your nephew's eyes may well stay just the way they are with no deep dark secret involved, Stinkerbella. And, as many others have said, almost all Caucasian babies are born with blue or greyish eyes. I don't remember Michael's eye color, but I do remember that he was Caucasian. (And evil, but I don't think that affects eye color.)


Agreed. Not only am I angry about poor Bianca being told her child is dead (can't bring myself to care about Babe -- sorry), but I'm unhappy about what's being done to/by the characters I love on OLTL in the service of this SL. And, not only is Kevin & Kelly's baby dead, but she was told that she can't have any more kids. So not only is this SL gruesome, it's depressing over the long term. Plus, I feel all of this is unnecessary. I could come up with better AMC/OLTL crossover ideas, so I'd like to think the writers could. (Among other ideas, Babe's baby could have been the one that died, and Kevin & Kelly's could have been the one stolen, by her, as a replacement.) At this point the only way they can make this up to me is to wrap things up QUICKLY and then either reveal that Kevin & Kelly's baby is really alive (shades of CJ Roberts on OLTL) OR have Kelly get "miraculously" pregnant again. I don't think any of that is going to happen, and if anything this is making me LESS likely to watch AMC than before. And I'm a comics reader, people -- crossovers are in my blood.

Just watched today's show...Mimo may be the cutest baby ever...I was like "where's the yawn? where's the yawn?" And then there it was, all tiny and snuggly...I'll be yelling at the TV "That's Bianca's baby!!"

Great Kendall stuff today--I agree that the Erica tirade could have been bigger and longer--I expected it to be. But I love how Alicia played it...not screaming and out of control--almost eerie. She was so scared, she could barely bring herself to say the words.

WORD to MJ...Reggie rocks. He has been the unsung player in all of this...quietly standing at Bianca's side, helping and supporting Kendall, wanting so badly to be a part of this family. I just love him.

Well, it's not really a standards thing, it's just that there's no second chance to watch ATWT, unlike the ABC soaps with their kajillion reruns over on SoapNet. That's right, I'm working that SoapNet to the best possible advantage.

Hearing Paul tell Babe she had a boy like 100 times today combined with the spoilers about Babe having flashbacks, gives me hope that the Bess/Miranda portion of this craptastic SL won't go on for years. She was very alert holding her son, knowing full well that she had a boy. I thought Paul was going to drug her to induce labor and she wouldn't be fully concious after she gave birth.

Also Paul has to be the father with that anvil the writers threw in there about "What til your daddy sees you" and Paul is sitting right there.

I will also admit that like Babe, and I don't think AH is that horrible of an actress. I can think of several other ABC actresses who are far worse than she is.

I've been trying to watch as little of the birth scenes as possible, but I saw some of them, and MiMo is really the cutest baby ever. Everything about this SL is so sad, that I find it difficult to bring myself to watch the scenes leading up to the Great Baby Switch of 04! However (insert Courtney Morgan eyeroll), I will be watching tomorrow, just so I can know what the hell is going on and can keep up with the SL.

Whats this, Skiffypup? Did the BAMinals go all sabotage! on Alexa when her likability grew? I have to admit that I too am starting to like Babe. She's proven to be a better friend to Bianca than the ol Nagster.

Speaking of Lena, I've concocted a fantasy about what she's been up to in Chicago. She's been visiting Cook County Hospital trying to make the moves on Miss Abby Lockhart. Retcon32 (tm CKD) is a nickname for the Bammers. It combines the words "Retroactive Continuity" with 32, representing the actual number of bam fans. Well, there are actually 31, but Marge (ask CK about Marge) counts twice according to CK. I actually think Marge should only count as half, since the girl ain't all there, but I won't quibble. Retroactive Continuity (changing the past continuity of the show) forms the basis of the bammers' belief that Maggie can somehow be gay and that Maggie and Binks belong together. CK can explain it much better than I can, since I wasn't watching much back then.

Soapnet is an evil place. They were criticizing Alicia. I had to leave.

I'm hoping they're just saving the ultimate smackdown for when Kendall finds out what's happened to Bianca and Mimo--that is, what she will believe has happened, anyway.


They de-emphasized the sleazy Babe-seducing-Jamie part of her SL, and put her with a character that brings out Babe's good heart, in a friendship that viewers actually like to watch. Then they toned down the cornpone lines a bit (or, more likely, handed them to her mother) and gave her some genuinely funny dialogue. Add in that Alexa does her best work by far with Eden, and bingo. The nice thing is that Alexa now seems to have gotten into her groove enough that her acting's good even when she's not in scenes with Eden now. I always knew Alexa was a sweetie, but that didn't stop me from despising her character or FFing her for like four months straight. She was very green when she began and being stuck with the Ambiguously Gay Duo did her absolutely no favors. JY and Justin Bruening used to take all the air out of her completely. Plus she had more dialogue than she could handle.

I'll also be watching the two hours, but I can't take a two-hour lunch, so I'll watch one hour during lunch and the other hour at home. I have my east coast friend to tell me which hour I should watch at lunch.

Oh, and by the way, I heard from Mystic0--she's in the middle of a move and won't be on the boards until late next week. I hope she doesn't explode from not being able to vent her Erica-hate. Heh.

Who doesn't do their best work with Eden? :) Every actor on that show is better opposite Eden or Alicia...and put the 2 of them together...it's nuts, as we all recognize!!

I think SoapNet was snarking on her crying scenes, SFHagood, back when Kendall first found out that Michael raped Bianca. I will admit that I did think Alicia took a page out of Susan's book for some of those scenes. But Alicia's since mastered the hella difficult trick of how to take Kendall over the top and yet keep her performance grounded.

I watch AMC only rarely, but I watch OLTL every day. This "the two will become one show" is going to be horrible for me. The Babe/Paul crossovers of the past few months were bad enough.

In order for this baby storyline to be engaging, it has to involve characters the audience actually cares about. I can only speak for myself, but I don't like anyone involved with this plot. I can't stand Kelly and I can't stand Babe either. I've had a bellyful of Kelly's whining (and I'm not talking about the miscarriage, anyone would be upset about that -- I mean the "Kevin, oh Kevin!" daily hand-wringing) and Babe is a deceptive manipulator. I don't think Babe's all bad, but I wouldn't turn my back on her if I had something she wanted. She thinks nothing of lying to everyone around her.

Whether this kid is raised as a Buchanan or a Chandler, he's going to have a tough time of it, so it's hard to see why where he grows up really matters.

Why is Kendall worrying so much about Ryan and Greenlee when Bianca is missing? I just don't think that that is something her character would worry about at a time like that, but I guess that's just me and I don't write the show.

I think someone said it yesterday...and Kendall said it herself...it's easier to focus on Greenlee and Ryan than think about where Bianca is and what's happened to her.



I think this came when Alicia and Kendall realized who Kendall really is and why she does what she does. It was back in the fall, when she found out Bianca was keeping the baby. That fabulous scene (and the reason I LOVE Kendall and Kinks) where Kendall threw the vase...who Kendall is, why she is the way she is, at her core, is a child of rape. She's living with that every day of her life...she doesn't feel worthy or whole or lovable. And ever since then, Kendall has been a lot more "real"...you understand her actions, IMO. The other line was something she said--to Ryan? David?--I can't remember. Anyway,she was explaining what it means to be a child of rape...that you came out of a night that hurt your mother so deeply...that you wish it had never happened--that the mother you love never had to suffer that way. But wishing that means wishing you didn't exist. What a weight for anyone to carry...it's why she is desperate to protect and love Bianca and Mimo...

For me, I saw a change in Alicia's acting from that moment on...it was like a moment of recognition of who Kendall was and her base motivation for everything. Did I make sense?

THEN later, Kelly was holding Babe's baby telling him how much she loved the baby that she lost, and that this baby deserved to be loved that much and my blood pressure went through the roof screaming that he WAS and IS loved like that by his own BobDamn mother! I had to turn it off.

I figure Paul picked Babe's baby because of his paternity assumptions, plus Babe's baby was a little bit premature, which Kelly's baby that died was as well.

Oh, I will. Though actually, I was fine with Erica at the start, she seemed to be taking some responsibility for her actions, she turned down the offer of a drink, and so on. Then Krystal starts in with the coddling and such, and Erica started grabbing at it. Sigh. Seriously, shut the fuck up, Krystal. I was okay with her being nice to Erica, because of them being two mothers in the same boat, but then she went way beyond that. Erica was angry, but she wasn't out of control, when she ripped into both Bianca and Kendall. She did it in the most calculating way possible, with every intent of inflicting maximum hurt and pain. I was desperately wishing for Kendall to turn up and deliver another bitch-slapping.

JY made me laugh. Of course, I wasn't supposed to be laughing, but what the heck. At least it made his scenes entertaining to watch.

Babe earned her first "shut up" from me in about a month when she told Paul about Bianca being raped and Erica not accepting the baby. Babe, why, why, why did you have to do that? Couldn't you have just told Paul that Bianca loves Miranda and left it at that? But I liked Babe otherwise, and Alexa did a great job today. And soon, with all the opportunities she's getting, she'll be as polished flinging those anvils as Susan and Eden are. And Paul really is unbelievably two-faced and heartless. (I was amused to note, though, that David Tom was pawing Eden both yesterday and today. Damn, I wish Mystic0 was here, I know she'd laugh at that. Heck, even BabyMimo was giving Eden chin chucks yesterday!)

David's entire speech to Ryan was so meta. When he started in on how the hero act was growing way old, that was such a "stop fluffing Ryan!" shoutout.

So let me get this straight--Ryan covered up the mineshaft originally, thus trapping Greenlee in there. But then when he rescues her, he doesn't cover the mineshaft? He leaves it exposed and doesn't notify anyone? Dummy.

I'm still cracking up at the absolute incompetence of the searchers, not to mention the talk of having trouble getting hold of manpower. Please. Two young, heavily-pregnant women missing? The entire damn county would be volunteering to walk along Route 32. They'd have to turn people away. Not to mention how well-connected both Bianca and Babe are.

The dirty part of me wanted to know who put Bianca's jeans back on, Babe or Paul. I also appreciated the rack shots we got. (And Alexa damn near popped out of her own tank at one point.) Oink!

I loved Kendall sneaking out of David's cabin. So Kendall. David was a dumbass for thinking she was going to sit around and wait. I was also amused at him telling her to "think rationally" when her scenario is in fact exactly what happened. Poor Kendall. She gets no credit. I loved Kendall clambering all over the rocks screaming her GF's name. And oooooohhh, the subtext was a-flying in her initial conversation with Greenlee. First telling Greenlee that Greenlee wasn't the one looking for someone who loves her more than anyone else and would do anything for her. (Awww. Kendall's completely secure in Bianca's love. That marriage proposal did the trick.) And then Greenlee replying something about how she wanted to be Bianca's sister too but that she knew they couldn't be "as close as you two are" or something like that. Heh. You're damn right "not as close", Greenlee. You've already lost Kendall to Bianca and I don't think Bianca's going to dump her GF for you. Ah, the subtext AMC is so entertaining.

I am used to being lied to by promos - I watch NBC after all - but I am even more pissed off that it seems like there is no point in watch OLTL today. I have never seen the show before, and the only reason I taped it was to see the seemless show because it was so important to watch the two full hours. This story pisses me off enough - you don't have to throw in false promotion.

Also, I was able to use the phrase "sled to hell" on Pamie's blog. I didn't explain the origin, but I felt like in a small way I was passing the Kinks love around.

I just have no words for the ABCD Sucktacular 2 Hour Crapztravaganza, so I'll leave most of it alone. Except:

Alicia is bringing the Kinks even when Eden's nowhere in sight. That actually made me laugh in the middle of all the crap.

Baby Miranda--still the second cutest baby I've ever seen. Not that Babe's little guy wasn't adorable, too, but Miranda is so clearly a Kane woman from the start, isn't she?

I once again found myself liking Krystal (keep her out of the Tad story, AMC, and she's pretty entertaining).

Jamie and Maggie at the cabin? OK, they do know there is the possibility that one of both of the girls could be seriously hurt, right? A quick glance around the living room and they don't feel any need to look in any other rooms, just to be sure? That's thorough searching, there. I guess I should head over to the Bam boards now and read about how well Maggie carried this episode, huh?

I was torn about the David/Ryan stuff. On one hand I resented the inherent Ryan fluffing the show was going for. On the other, David was speaking for the people. Ryan does need to get the hell out of town.

In this instance, I think I wish Brock Cuchna was still playing Paul, as opposed to David Tom. David is certainly a better actor but I think Brock's robot-like performance would have made it more believable that Paul could do such a cold and calculating thing to Boobe and Bianca.

Yay! KerleyQ I am glad there is a reason to watch today. It is sounding like most of the ep is a let down...and let's be real--how good can it be with Eden unconscious?

That's a good point, kariyaki. What got me about David Tom's performance (and not in a praise-worthy way, in a "he sucks" way) is that he wasn't able to convey any layers at all. He just acted completely nice and sincerely with Babe, and elsewhere he acted colder and more conniving. I mean, yes, Paul's supposed to be two-faced, but we should see the "thread", so to speak, running throughout the scenes. A sense of the calculating Paul was doing inside. The point of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is that the Hyde side was always in Jekyll. Given that David Tom can't seem to play that, Brock's robot-like performance would have worked better here.

ETA: Forgot to mention before, when Paul emerged from hiding and praised Babe's son for being nice and quiet, I had to laugh, because I think that was the first time the kid had shut up all ep.

Babe's telling Bianca to wake up to get a look at her son also amused me. Babe, Bianca isn't just asleep, she's like nine-tenths dead. I was wincing when Paul left Bianca, Babe and Miranda out there in the freezing cold, and Bianca and Babe on the ground to boot. I know Miranda's incubator is supposed to keep her warm, but I could also see her sticking her hand out of it at one point.

Exactly. He was swinging too much from the Nice Tree in the Boobe scenes, we should be able to see something in his eyes that he's plotting something (like we can when Kendall or Greenlee are up to something) but zilcho. I would have preferred Brock, whose lack of emotion in the Boobe scenes wouldn't have made the transition to duplicitious baby-thieving shit so jarring.

The best past of that crash is that Paul ripped one of the seats and threw it in front of the chopper but forgot to break the windshield. Part of me was glad because I just know he would have fucked up and broken the glass from the outside in instead of the other way around, but the other part of me was yelling at the TV that no crash unit would ever buy the story Paul will spin about the crash. But then I remembered that this is not one soap, but TWO, so never mind.

So I watched a little bit of OLTL, but I gave up pretty quick. Some crossover. Bleh. But I did notice that the guy who plays Dorian's husband must be taking acting lessons from Cameron Mathison. Please don't let them ever be together in the same scene. My TV would blow up.

I would bet anything that Paul is the baby's father. That is how they will get him out of trouble when this whole story is revealed. The bio-dad can't really be charged with kidnapping can he? And if he pleads all innocent...well he can always say he got mixed up from the crash. Oh, how I wish they would take both of these horrible ugly brother/sister actors back to Y&R and leave us alone on AMC and ABC.

(taking this out of spoiler tags since it's just spec) Paul can absolutely be charged with kidnapping. If he is indeed the father of Babe's baby, then they both have parental rights, and neither of them can deny the other access to the baby without going through the courts.

I'm torn on whether Paul's the father or not. Before, I was leaning in that direction, but when alone with the baby, he referred to himself as Uncle Paul with no sense of irony whatsoever. Granted, as already discussed, David Tom has no sense of how to play layers, so that may not mean much. As far as AMC is concerned, it'd be better if JR did turn out to be the father in the end, making the baby a Chandler. A Martin isn't completely useless, but a Chandler would be much better, especially given the probable hookup years down the road with Miranda.

Reggie comes back to the cabin because he looked up and down the road and can't find Bianca.

JR, Jamie, Maggie, Tad hear Greenlee and they come to the site and are trying to wake their respective loved ones. Jackson, Adam, David arrive. Then the turn around when they hear crying. Kendall assumes is Miranda and walks over to it and talks to it. Maggie joins her. David checks Bianca. Then goes over to check Babe and says she's given birth.

Edmund and Maria have a little romantic scene.

JR then wonders where there baby is. Paul comes and realizes what is up then he pretends he's been searching around. JR and Adam threaten Paul about Babe's baby and he gets scared shitless and says it's Babe's baby and Bianca's baby is the one that fell out and Kendall breaks down in tears. All of bianca's love once start to get emotional. Even JR and Jamie seem upset.

Anita has to leave Bobby because she's been paged.

The medical people take Babe and Bianca and the baby away. Maggie goes with Bianca along with Kendall , David and Jackson. As JR goes with Babe and the baby. Reggie, Tad, Jamie stay behind with Paul and Jamie and Reggie threaten Paul. Tad tells them to go. (I assume they are going to search for the other baby I don't remember) Tad tells Paul he know he's lying and he's going to prove it.

Jackson calls Erica and Krystal and tells them they found them. They both had the babies and meet them at the hospital.

Erica and Krystal arrive at the hospital. Babe comes in and then the baby. Then Bianca comes in with David trying to get her rushed in but Erica stops and wants to apolgize to Bianca. Jackson , Kendall, Maggie come in. Then Erica asks where is the baby. They all give Erica looks.

"Special Seamless Two Hour Episode" my ass! Eliminating the credits between two shows does not make them both one show. This show was Frankenstein's monster- clumsily stitched together, rotting, and made out of mostly dead material *cough*Cameron!*cough*. I watched the first ten minutes of OLTL but it became clear that it was not going to include any AMC people besides the newborn baby.

Phooey! I want my nickel back!

Blasphemy! Tuc Watkins is about the best thing OLTL's got going for it these days. Cameron Mathison would be lucky to have 1/10th of TW's talent.

But I digress. Damn,. I'm used to the promo-monkeys jerking me around but todays 'megashow' sure takes the cake. Doing away with the credits doesn't make it one show. Typical cheap-ass ABC. Can't do anything right.

Horrible acting by David Tom today. No layers whatsoever. I really felt for Babe today, and I even connected to Krystal during her scenes with Erica. But as a whole, this was just poorly done.

Kendall, run away from the Ryan! Your girlfister (hee!) is missing and you're wasting time on that caveman? Let Greenlee have him. She's become so annoying anymore she deserves him.

Gah, and I still have the OLTL portion to watch. The misery just keeps on coming.

Aside from the merger of craptastic crappola that never happened, today's AMC wasn't that bad. I actually enjoyed Krystal's scenes with Erica - of course, they made me like Krystal more and Erica less. And less. And less.
