Hey, it's character exploration day! I'm gonna preface this with my usual Erica is evil! Evil! Not only does she have both of her daughters feeling like horrible, life destroying people, she took her insanity further. She finally confirmed Black Knight's theory that Erica sees Bianca's decision as invalidating Erica's own. Wow, what a nutjob. I can't believe she thinks Bianca would go through all this shit as a 'Neener-neener, I'm better than you' statement. I'm sure there are people in this world who are brain dead enough to have children to spite their mothers, but Bianca's not one of them. Sheesh, that's just crazy. Boy, did Erica go for Kendall's weak points. Bitch. She really wants to break Kinks up. I felt horrible for both of Erica's kids today, no one can tear you apart quite as well as your mother. Watching her play on the insecurities she ingrained into them was painful. Susan (as well as Alicia and Eden) continues to kick ass. Scared of her, man!

I felt bad for poor, girly-man Jack, too. He doesn't know what the hell to do but he wants so much to help. The best thing any of them could do for Erica is to leave the little fruitcake alone. If anyone deserves to be alone, it's Erica.

Now, for purely shallow talk. Rebecca is gorgeous but Greenlee in leather riding a 'cycle just isn't living up to the fantasy material it should. I blame Ryan. I feel further cheated that the director didn't give us a full body shot of Simone after she finally ditched her jacket. (sulks) Babe/Binks had a moment in the car! Hee. Babe tearfully telling Bianca how much she will miss her, had me rollin'. Bless you, Alexa. I needed something to laugh about, Kinks suffering makes me sad. :(

I just can't hate Erica--too many years history for me to turn on her, so is it OK if I just continue to hate McTrash with the intensity of 1,000 burning suns for putting this tripe on screen?

Greenlee and Ryan? You storyline has sucked hose for a whole month now. Oh, and it's really sad and pathetic to want to see Babe's story more than Rebecca's. Doesn't that make you want to weep innocent tears with the baby Jesus?

Oh- And it's my whip. So I must say, Erica gets all the best Kinks lines.

Wow. Who knew, Erica's capacity for self-absorption can still surprise me after all this time. I wasn't surprised by anything she said, until she got to the part about how Bianca chose to have her baby as a deliberate attempt to outdo Erica. That caused my jaw to drop open. That is the most All About Erica Erica's ever been. Ooooooooo-kay. (David did a hella great job of ripping all that apart.) Actually, once I recovered from my shock, I realized that Erica actually indirectly finally admitted what her real problem with Bianca's pregnancy is--she sees it as an indictment of herself.

I winced as soon as Kendall told Erica to bring it on. Oh, Kendall. You should've left when Erica told you to before. Sigh. But Kendall stayed, determined to be a good GF by calling Erica out on her treatment of Bianca, which of course sealed her own fate. I have a horrified fascination for just how perfectly evil Erica was. Working the "you wrecked Bianca's life" angle rips Kendall up on so many levels that, objectively, I have to admire Erica's efficiency and brilliance. Not only does it hurt Kendall to think of her sister and baby being hurt, but the little self-esteem Kendall has is in her image of herself as a good, loving sister and soon-to-be-aunt. Plus, Kendall worships Bianca for having decided to have this baby because she feels as if Bianca said she herself is wanted; Erica's implication that Bianca will ultimately look at her baby the same way that Erica looks at Kendall carries the added implication that Bianca will also end up looking at Kendall that way too. Man, Erica was vicious. She wanted to break up the Kinks, and that was certainly the way to go. I did take one second out to laugh at Erica bringing the Pervy with her line, "You've become Bianca's protector, her champion, her everything." But of course, right the next second she was back hitting another button of Kendall's, her fear that Bianca only keeps her around because she needs her, not because she wants her...much like Erica does with Kendall. Susan played those scenes brilliantly. Alicia was quietly devastating.

And now that I've said all that...Shut the fuck UP, Erica! God, what an evil bitch troll. When she said something to Jack about how she'd had a long day, I commented, "Yes, ripping apart both your daughters is hard work." At least Kendall had the sense to go talk to David. I appreciated David pointing out that Erica had done exactly what everyone knew she would--she'd gone off the damn deep end. It was a nice contrast with Erica doing her usual spiel with Jack about how she's doing juuuuuust fine. Sure she is. But she'll get hers in the end, and I can't wait. David was cool today.

Eden did a nice job conveying, with little supporting dialogue for that particular point, that Bianca's very torn up inside over killing Michael. It was pretty much all in the teary eyes. I always thought it made sense that Bianca really doesn't talk about that to anyone, because she's essentially someone who internalizes. Plus she knows that other people will just rush to stop her with, "You didn't have a choice, so don't worry about it, put it out of your mind, blah blah blah." It was interesting seeing her talk about the entire situation with someone who was an outsider and wasn't even around when most of the key events went down. I thought Babe handled it all very well, listening, keeping unhelpful grand generalizations like "everything will be just rosy" to a minimum, and mostly just letting Bianca get her twisted emotions out while providing a stabilizing presence. When Bianca discussed leaving town after all, and Babe told her not to because she would miss Bianca, at first I thought it was shallow, but then I realized it was actually pretty smart--just buying some time for Bianca to calm down, plus letting her know that she is wanted, since Bianca was flagellating herself so much. Alexa was very understated and very sweet today, and definitely brings her A game in scenes with Eden. The writing and acting rocked pretty much across the board in all the scenes that involved any of the Kane Women.

Gryan--whatever. Greenlee looks hot in black leather, though. And Tad...well, at least the Cad shtick is coming to an end.

Do tad and Krystal have a blended couple name yet? If not, I christen them KAd.

I however, will call them KRud because they suck. And no amount of propping will making see them as "fighting" their attraction.

Is it so wrong to want a story for Liza? And not this joke where he is distant third in some lopsided rectangle. Is there some written rule that Marcy Walker can only have 2 days of screen time a month? Few characters do snarky as well as Liza. She doesn't have to be with Tad, just give her a damn story.

As for Timone... Cute, I agree. BUT (and its a big BUT) I think Simone should pull a Tad and start nailing Jaime and his dad. Give him a taste of his own medicine.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm rooting for Krystal and Tad: at least she has an ounce of self-esteem. God, how sad is that?

After today's Kendall/Erica scenes, I feel so completely dismantled. Sniff. Erica's a bastrad.

I watch the show on satellite here in Canada on a channel from Ontario (I'm in BC), and during one of the commercial breaks there's a little segment called "Lather Up". The woman talks about AMC stuff. Last week she was reading a summary of Bianca's history and she mentioned that Bianca killed some guy years ago. Again in self-defence. Anyone remember that? Our Binks is a serial killer!

How about Trystle? As in, it's only a tryst and nothing more. I don't acknowledge Tad and Liza as a couple enough to give them a name. Bleah.

I like Tad with Simone, but I'm totally on board for the Jamie fling! Too bad Babe already deflowered him.

Dude, that was astounding. I mean, we had figured that motivation of Erica's out, but I never thought I'd hear it pass Erica's lips. I'm damn glad it did, though. I was tired of hearing Erica hide behind somewhat valid (if cruel) statements that suggested that she actually gave a damn about how this situation affected anyone other than herself. Today blew that possibility away. She is evil, vile and completely out of touch with reality. Whatever 'betrayals' she perceives as done to her, at least weren't done maliciously. She's tearing her daughters to shreds solely because she's a jealous, self-centered hag.

Man, I was so glad to see AMC actually dealing with this. Even though this part of the SL is tap-dancing on my sore spots, I'm digging actually getting a peek at what's going on in everybody's heads. Eden got it across quite well what a tailspin Erica's motherly love has thrown Bianca in, as well as all the other issues Binks has got going on. I felt sad at seeing Binks feeling foolish about being happy about her baby. Why shouldn't she be happy? Yeah, circumstances are deeply fucked up, but that doesn't trump the fact that she loves her kid, has chosen to have it, and Mimo can have a good life *despite* how she was conceived. Hell, any kid whose parent actually loves it and can provide for it, is doing a helluva lot better than a lot of other poor souls walking the planet. Jeez, Erica did a number on her kids. With a few well chosen words, she put everything they've been building in doubt. Bitch.

regis, the woman got it wrong. Dr. Jonathan Kinder kidnapped Bianca, and she pushed him down a flight of stairs. Erica/Janet/Skye were carting his body around, in one of the most hysterical soap stories ever. But it turned out later that he hadn't really been killed, and was hiding out in St. Justin. Marian came across him, and called Erica/Janet/Skye so they could have him arrested.

Yeah, plus, it's not like she had never thought about these issues. She did, and talked about them with Kendall, Jack, and others. (That was the only annoying thing about her having this conversation with an outsider to the situation. Babe didn't know enough about the entire story to correct her on this point.) She's always known it would be difficult, but she ultimately decided it wasn't insurmountable, either, which it isn't. The only one in her circle of friends and family who's being evil about it is Erica, for her own selfish, jealous, insecure reasons. I think I should just make a macro for "Shut the fuck up, Erica!" But I suspect that soon enough, she's getting her head handed to her anyway. Whee!

Erica/Janet/Skye running around together with that dead body ala "Weekend At Bernie's" reduced me to tears from laughing so hard *multiple* times. Putting Susan Lucci, Robin Mattson, & Carrie Genzel together was just brilliance.

I love Robin Christopher to death, but that was actually Carrie Genzel playing Skye at the time. She rocked, too. I always thought AMC really wasted her.


Forgot to mention before, Mystic0, but yes, I was oinking inappropriately again at that part. When her eyes get all dark...damn.

I liked CG too, I thought she was quite pretty.

She's genuinely pissed about the Kinks bonding anyway, so it's not hard to find subtext in all her lines about Kendall taking advantage of Bianca and Kendall defending herself.

Certainly I'd prefer to think that Kendall's just keeping Binks busy in her hospital room with continual ComfortBrainstorming, as opposed to considering how badly the helicopter crash might've injured her. At least with Edmund paralyzed already, we're not getting another paralysis SL. But let's move it along. Sure, now a soap's being realistic about the amount of time someone needs to stay in the hospital to recover from major injuries?! Then again, AMC did keep Edmund in the hospital a good long while too.

I caught another fun pervy line on my rewatch--it's not Pervy Writer, it's all Alicia. Kendall's at David's cabin going on about Erica, and she says, "Erica swears I've ruined my sister's life and my--her baby's life." Hee! The only way I could've loved Alicia more was if she'd said "our". But damn, all those scenes really were good. This is exactly the sort of ep that Susan should submit for next year's Emmy reel, but I'm sure she'll submit some overwrought episode yet again.

I rewatched the best scenes from last Monday's baby shower, lamaze, and Lap of Love to cheer myself up. Kinks when they were happy. Yum.

And she was all about the two day marriage thing long before Brit. Of course Babe is cuter and a lot more likeable than BS.

Hee. For Erica, anyone else being to blame is preferable to accepting that Bianca actually made the decision herself. David called her on it, Kendall did too but then Erica got her to start doubting herself. (I didn't really think about this before, but it was pretty telling that Kendall went to David, and not Bianca, for answers. She really was genuinely afraid, thanks to evil Erica, that she'd somehow pressured or influenced her sister--and if that had been the case, she knew Bianca wouldn't tell her so.) It's Erica's warped way of still trying to keep Bianca somewhat golden in her eyes, even though Binks is now heavily tarnished. If she accepted Bianca made the decision on her own, then she'd really have to deal with the anger she feels towards Bianca, and it's Bianca she's ultimately angriest at anyway, so dealing with her anger would make Erica really lose control. Right now, she's being absolutely vicious, but in a very contained and calculating way.

Did Jack even hear about the disastrous interview? He's a good guy, but ever so clueless and useless. He's blathering on about his good memories while Erica's cleaning the blood off her fingernails from having used her daughters as scratching posts. Krystal did a good thing in warning Jack, but it's ultimately for naught because he's missing the forest for the trees. In Erica's current mental state, she can't have a relationship. She has to deal with her issues first, then work on her relationship, not the other way around.

I just remembered, did we ever see Greenlee actually told about Bianca killing Michael? I saw the scene in which Ryan told her Kendall was off the hook, but he didn't tell her then about Bianca being the real killer. But she knew today. I'm just curious if it was covered in any of the Gryan scenes I FF'd through. I would've liked to see her reaction.

No, I think Greenlee being informed about Bianca killing Asscicle got the passport scene treatment. But then, I could be wrong since I'm also guilty of wearing out my FF button on Greens and The Puppet Formerly Known as Ryan. (I still insist that Puppet Angel looks JUST LIKE HIM.)

I'm only caught up through Friday, so I can't contribute to the current conversation, but I'm loving reading all of your comments on what's going on. And now, if I may, I'd like to express my rage at the two-hour AMC/OLTL crossover. I assume that the two shows run back-to-back in other areas? 'Cause, here, not so much. We get AMC at 11:00 (a day behind, no less), news at noon, and then OLTL at 1:00 (and, actually, I have no idea if OLTL is also a day behind or not -- gah, the confusion!). Way to hack things up, stupid ABC affiliate!

I don't think so. The only times I find Krystal likeable is when she's being supportive of Babe. She may have gotten some things wrong in the way she raised her, but nobody can deny that Krystal loves the heck out of her little girl.

You know, on the one hand, I really like the whole "Tad on hiatus" thing because damn, they really needed to end the male slut stuff. (Plus it gave Simone that great midseason replacement line.) On the other hand, I'm convinced that this is just going to lead to "Tad can't fight his overpowering attraction to Krystal even though he's trying to be chaste.
