Yeah, I noticed the weather-inappropriate top. But, true to myself, I just oinked! She's cute. Decent abs. What? I'm in withdrawal while Eden's in maternity wear. And I think FEM was mostly Agnes anyway, not the headwriters of the time. The Kane Women were written pitch-perfect, including their relationship parallels with their love interests, during that period, and we're seeing the same thing again now.

This really just gives me an opening to Kinks-gush some more. I actually have not missed Alicia and Eden's absence the last two days (I hope they got some rest, massages at a spa, and so forth, because they need and deserve it!), because I've had the Monday ep goodness to re-watch. And so, a couple additional comments:
First, while I really can't pick a favorite bit, I've definitely decided on a favorite line. We had many gloriously pervy lines, many sweet ones, many cute ones...but in the end, I realized I had to go with Bianca's "You gonna help me out with everything?" The backup music is perfectly matched to the line, but it's really all in Eden's demeanor and delivery, folks. She takes a non-pervy-on-paper line and makes it all kinds of hot and suggestive and lovey-dovey, a barely-veiled marriage proposal. (And Kinks has their cover story for every time someone catches one coming out of the other's bedroom. "Oh, she was just helping me out with [insert random excuse here]." Yeah, helping out. Another Kinksed phrase...)

Second, I was so preoccupied by how cute Alicia was during the puppy-dog bit that I really didn't pay much attention to the psychological undertones. I mean, yes, we got that the puppy was in part Kendall's way of finding a reason to be at Bianca's 24/7, giving her sister a reason to still need her. But, also, on another level Kendall is the puppy. And so a lot of the dialogue was very meta. Kendall is a lot of work, "chaos in a dress" as Bianca once commented to Ryan, but she's worth it, because she'll love you unconditionally and be eternally loyal. (Or, to go back again to what Bianca said to Ryan, "love bigger and harder than anyone"...ha!) Notice the way Alicia said, "You won't be able to get rid of me!"--she breaks out the dog-like delivery on that line too. I was so eeeeeeee'ing over the cuteness of Alicia that I didn't register the subtle psychology of her performance right away. Kudos to her. I wanted to get those comments in because I know that after today's ep, we'll be busy eeeeeeee'ing over that. Heh.

(snicker) No, I'm just saying you're observant. ;)



You know what I loved most about Eden's delivery of that line? The note of challenge that it had. *rowr* Bianca rarely does it, but on occasion, she'll step up close to someone and have this air about her that just permeates with "Come and get it if you think you're bad enough, mofo." (shivers) Man.....gets me on the ropes every single time. Unfortunately, we don't get to see that often enough. :(

Word, Mystic0. I don't know how Kendall restrained herself from just pulling Bianca to her and kissing her after that. Yum.

See, there's the double standard. Bianca's been shown kissing two other women full on the lips. But here she and Kendall agree to get married and everything, and they're only allowed to hug to celebrate their engagement. Unfair! Why the double standard for incestuous lesbian sisters, huh? Huh?

Gack, I hope that Krystal isn't the woman Tad falls for. I rilly rilly RILLY hope its anyone but her. I wouldn't mind if he fell head over heels for that ridiculous ginormous golfball in his living room instead of stupid Krystal.

Of course, MMT says he'll fall for the woman we least expect. Which is stupid, because I would be surprised if it were anyone but Krystal. But what the writer's think is a surprise, never seems to be a surprise to the viewers.


That cracked me up too. At first I was all, WTF? We haven't seen Liza since the "shower" (and I'm still perplexed by her big group hug with Bianca and Babe. I mean, Liza sent her hench monkeys to ambush Bianca on her way home from school back when Erica was snatchin' babies. But whatever- who needs to remember history?) But the concept of a booty call was quite funny. You don't see enough blatant booty calls on Soaps anymore. And the fact that Adam had to bear witness upped the 'hee" factor considerably.

That said I wonder what scheme he's going to come up with. DC rocks and I love scheming Adam and Mary. I wonder if Tad is going declare his lurve for Krystal, dump Liza and Simone. THen Liza gets all pissed off and teams up with Adam and MAry to take down BAbe (and by extensoin Krystal and by an extended extension Tad). I dunno. Just speculation. I mean its not like Adam can take Colby away from Liza because she's banging Tad sporadically.

That was always kind of fun to see them pretend to continue the discussion or fix dinner or clean the house. Usually it meant one of the actors looking at a picture or some other object and acting like they are remembering or reflecting on something.

Now it seems they have just written that mindless activity into the regular show.

I can't believe no one's brought this one up yet--when Babe and JR were talking about her squeezing his hand when she's in pain, and then the camera swept back on Kinks--they were holding onto each other in the most couply of ways, it was adorable. And I loved Erica's line to Ryan about how Bianca and Kendall don't need anybody but each other. Even a self-centered mother knows when her daughters are in love.

Greenlee must be turning over some kind of new leaf, worrying about Erica. I thought for sure when I saw the spoilers about her warning Bobby off of Erica that it was going to be her badmouthing Erica to him, not telling him to back off because he's her daddy's fiancee.

Now if you'll all excuse me, I have to go sneak a hydrocodone from my GH stash, I got hurt by that anvil that fell on me when JR told Babe he thinks it would be great to have a little girl.

I saw that! Bwah! Complete with a threat to write to McTrash and put an end to it all (because McTrash is so known for responding to viewer concerns). It'll only make HER look Pervy for bringing it up. My POV: If AMC doesn't want us to see Kinks as the supercouple of the show, then they wouldn't be ending an episode with Kendall's head in Bianca's lap as Melissa Etheridge sings. Hee.

CKD, I haven't seen where Eden said that...but I do think "dramatic exit" equals "killed off". I assumed that Lena would get shot or hit by a car or something just after learning the truth. Then there's either a cryptic message written in her own blood of just the letter "K", or she talks to Bianca and she's trying to gasp out the name "Kelly Cramer". I can see it now...Lena: "K--K--Ke--" Bianca: "Kendall?" (Lena dies)

Personally, I think it's stupid to kill Lena off--I mean no disrespect to Olga here, who I adored in the part. But if I were the writers, which I'm not, I'd send Lena away for a few months to take care of her sick mother. Then bring a recast on. There are too many built-in issues with Lianca, and too many potential future story plots from Lena's past, to just kill the character off and start all over with a brand-new love interest. Olga was fabulous as Lena, and a recast wouldn't be a walk in the park, but in the last couple of years I've seen two extremely difficult parts recast--Kendall, and OLTL's Todd--and it can work with the right actor, especially if some time elapses in between. AMC is much better at casting actresses than actors, to boot.


I noticed that too. She was veeeeery touchy-feely again, and did you catch her calling Bianca "girlfriend"? Babe, I completely understand you wanting to get it on with Bianca, but perhaps being so overt in front of Bianca's girlfriend and your own husband is not the best idea.

Yay, Bobby/Greenlee really do have chemistry! Reggie/Danielle--definitely still not feeling any romantic chemistry there. They'd be great as friends.

Edmund? Shut up. And aw, I like Anita. She's the third best sister ever.

First I started off being annoyed because Erica and Ryan were going on about how Kendall can't trust anyone--and then Erica stopped and pointed out there is one person Kendall trusts and would do anything for! I was giggling madly as they discussed Kinks's mad love and inseparableness. They sooooo know what's going on. When Greenlee started badgering Ryan about Kendall, I was all, "Leave the guy alone. He's dealing with the knowledge Kendall has been banging her sister behind his back." Snerk. I also smiled to see that the Kane-Montgomery siblings are on collision course. Greenlee wants to make amends, and the trio of Reggie/Kendall/Bianca are very firmly anti-Greens. She's got her work cut out for her.

The Kinks was subtler today than Monday's ep, but still excellent. I just really liked their couple-y vibes today. Kendall looking concerned, but trying to hide it, over Bianca's upcoming childbirth ordeal. For which we're getting killed by anvils--Bianca is soooooo not going to be able to get pregnant again after this. And now we know that Miranda will be masquerading as Elizabeth. Kendall cuddling Bianca while JR cuddled Babe--sure enough, another totally couple-y vibe, I was expecting Kendall to kiss Bianca, and the camera cuts away to show JR kissing Babe. Heh. A lot of googly eyeshagging on both their parts. The park scenes...the talk about where they're each going to live was interesting. First Kendall not at all liking the thought of Bianca moving into the other house she has lined up (just ask Bianca to live with you already, Kendall!). Then there was a bitchy-girlfriend vibe from Bianca as she started pushing Kendall hard to move out of the damn condo. There was such a "If you keep living there, you can forget about me spending the night, 'k?" attitude. Hee. And the end. Siiiiiiiiigggghhhh...Kinks. They are the magic. And AMC knows it. Hee.

Black Knight I probably wouldn't have remembered that either, but I just found that particular episode on an old AMC tape and then seeing the shower just made it more WTF?-esque.

But what happened was after Erica got caught baby-snatching, Adam (who was married in name only to Liza) paid Erica's bail and was made her legal responsibility so she had to live with A and L (he just wanted to make Liza jealous). Needless to say Erica and Liza didn't take to kindly to one another.

Anyway, Liza sent some reporters to ambush Bianca on her way home from school to get her reaction to her mom being arrested for kidnapping for a news piece WRCW was doing. Bianca was crying and all, "Leave me alone! Leave me alone!" (It was the anorexic Bianca who was quite good I think). Then the reporter is all, "Just one more question, Miss Montgomery. Did you know the baby is the love child of Dmitri Marick and Maria Santos-Grey?" And Bianca is all deer in the headlights stunned.

So that was that. Then Erica saw the piece and freaked the fuck out and reamed Liza a new asshole telling how she's an awful person and she should never have children because she's so evil and this was all, like, one minute after Liza took a pregnancy test and was freaked out at discovering she was pregnant with Adam's baby.

It was true soapy goodness.

Oh, what to say? How to share without rehashing the above points?
From subtextual- to textual- and now, it's official! KINKS. They're official girlfisters!

Additional shout outs for Kendall stroking Bianca's thigh. Then doing it again, just to make sure she felt the love. Great way to start the Fondle!Kinks! I watched down in the lunchroom with the marketing girls ... and they think it's funny that we're shipping sisters.

Babe is trying to keep a hand in play for sure. It looked like she wanted to go higher and was sending the vibe: When you arent too busy with your girlfister and girlfriend, I'm SO available.

Wonder how Ethridge feels about her song being used for such glorious sisterly incestual love? I hope she can be down with the Kinks.

Lena should find Mimo- Then go to Cambias Europe on a short trip and catch a viral infection that has her in an "ir"reversable coma! Bianca (who refuses to unplug her lover) can arrange for her care in a specialized facility in Switzerland ... then refer to her every now and then to keep the memory alive. Then if Olga becomes available someday ... they can wake Lena up and ship her home.

But the marketing girls, SkiffyPup, do see how Kinks is rather unsisterly, right? Heh.

Ah yes, the thigh rubs. I can't wait to get home and rewatch. There was just a lot of smaller, subtle stuff going on during the scenes at the...clinic? Hospital? Wherever they were. Not easy to recap, way too innumerable really to list, but fun to watch. I know I lost count of the eyeshags. Suffice to say they were being couple-y, couple-y, couple-y.


People have to be started off slow, I'm sure Etheridge is no exception. Show them the earlier scenes, let them adjust...then they start realizing this shit is hella funny...then they end up letting go of their inhibitions and becoming full-fledged shippers. Like kariyaki says, Kinks is the Borg. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Hee.

ETA: Skiffy, I'd be down with that if I believed there was a chance in hell that Olga's ever returning. But I doubt it. Her career's going far too well--it's not just MI-5 in itself, but the mucho opportunities she's going to get because of it. She doesn't want to play one character year-round for years, and that's fine. So, I still say recast after a certain amount of time has elapsed. The character and couple are too good to toss. I'm not taking anything away from Olga here--I think she's got a unique quality about her--but time does help make recasts more palatable, especially if the recast has chemistry with the original other half of the couple. And since that's Eden, I doubt chemistry would be an issue.

Damn that director! When Kinks are ca-noodling, you keep the camera on Kinks, idiot! I found myself doing that idiotic thing where you're craning your neck around trying to see other angles of the shot. Yes, that's pathetic, but you could see Bianca's shoulder moving around in the frame and I wanna know what they were doing! (pouts)



Well, they had been off brainstorming for a few days so I guess they worked some of that sexual tension out. But, man, it was still oddly hot when Binks was rubbing Kendall's shoulder. *rowr*

I'm sure Dorky!Lena did a hella nice job with her bungalow selection, and Binks signed off on it, but it also sounded there's lots of potential for tweeness, and I hate twee. I like more contemporary places, and I'm sure Kinks would get contemporary furniture to match. I'm afraid if Bianca moves into the bungalow the set designers will decorate the place a lot like Myrtle's, and then my eyes will explode. We only just got rid of the Neon Green Couch.

Cambias Industries Down Under? *heh* Any of those exits would be so blah and scribes at AMC have said it'll be "very dramatic," so none of those scenarios could possibly work out. Of course, they've said very many things about Lena, none of which have turned out to be true, so fuck them and let's just have fun speculating. A recast down the road is not a bad idea: I wish AMC good luck with that explosive mine!

Just because Lena's exit hasn't been written doesn't mean the show doesn't know how it's going to go down, and I'm sure they developed two separate scenarios in advance, one for Olga staying, one for Olga leaving. Here's an idea that would cover both "not being killed off" and "dramatic exit": Lena finds out the truth, so Kelly/Paul kidnap her and fake her death. Months from now, a recast Lena gets free.

I think AMC could get away with a recast--assuming a charming actress with acting ability, of course--because many of the hardcore Olga fans are leaving along with her and have no plans to return unless Olga herself does. These viewers would likely never accept a recast, but it's a moot issue, because they won't be watching in any case. The viewers who are going to continue to watch are more likely to be amenable to the idea of a recast in time, when the grieving process for Olga is over.


Yup, that gets me too. Eden and Alicia have just built a really good non-verbal dynamic together which is totally helping the couple-y vibe. They're very tuned into each other.

Does anyone on this board watch OLTL? I don't, but I obviously will when Lena crosses over, so - if you can give a heads-up, that would be bomb diggity.

I watch OLTL, and am happy to answer any questions, keep y'all updated, whatever. Most significantly, at the moment, Kelly is currently in the hospital in Pine Valley, having miscarried her child. She's arranged for her husband and family to be told that she's in Texas for a few days, while she tries to figure out what to do. So there you go, she's right on the scene. So likely Paul's gonna take Babe and Bianca and their babies in and hand Babe's baby right off to Kelly at the hospital. Fuckers. (calms self with thoughts of when Kinks finds out)

I noticed we're also cracking some non-Kinks posters up over at the thread. That's so often the doorway into Kinks-shipping, the humor of it all. Speaking of which, my east coast friend had been laughing at me for months over Kinks. A few weeks ago, she started tipping me off via IM if the ep was particularly Kinksy. But I think Monday's wedding shower ep really bowled her over--she IM'd, told me Kinks was out of control and they needed to get a room, etc. etc. Today? She finally asked me for my fan fic story. (smirk) One more for the sled!

Dammit! I missed good Kinkage today! For the past few months I've been weaning myself off AMC and it just got easier because Comedy Central is showing reruns of Strangers with Candy...so thats what I was watching instead. And sadly I missed Kink lovin'. Damn, I gave up Kinks My Kinks for Jerri Blank. Oh well, I'm sure there will be more to come with the birth of Mimo.

And I kinda like the rumor that Lena might crossover to OLTL. I used to watch OLTL. I know that if Lena crosses over that it'll involve Kelly but wouldn't it be cool if Lena runs into Blair while investigating and sparks fly between them. Then maybe Blair's bitchiness will reignite the Amoral European Bitch in Lena again and she decides that being with a hellion like Blair would be much more fun and exciting than being with Saint Binks.
