I wanted to let out my enthusiasm on the news that Olga will be on MI-5. Timmeh! Oooh this means we'll get to hear Olga's British accent. I'm all kinds of buttery inside. I'm terribly excited. I'm wondering if she'll be packing heat... molesting her big shiny gun. Sweet Baby James!

Now about Olga's "strange" post on SS, I think many people have gotten the wrong impression that she's not leaving AMC. If you read the posts about her exit from the show, many of them seemed to think that she was in some way forced to leave...whether it was due to bad writing or less screentime. What her post may have been trying to tell us was maybe, "hey, nobody forced me out in any way. I really really wanted to leave but in the meantime, there will be plenty of Lianca." I don't think she was trying to tell us she wasn't leaving.

Re: some of the posts on her board were rather angry. Understatement, I know. But what I wanted to say was that some were very harsh and directed their anger at the wrong people...i.e. Eden Riegel. I really hope Olga does not read those posts because although they showed nothing but support for her, a few were not classy or mature.

I am outing myself as the woman who told CK the news waaay back on 2/11.
I'm saying this, not to pat myself on the back, but to reflect on how my TWoP life has changed drastically.

When I started here ... I was spoiling CSI:Miami a full six weeks in advance, and throwing out all sorts of setside gossip. Suddenly, I care about an actor on a stupid TV show? A soap, no less? Enough to feel she should have control of her news releases. Only Olga Sosnovska has had the effect on me. No one else. Ever.

BTW- If you missed the All Gay Recap replies yesterday, I have coined a new name for Megan McTavish the volderMirandarapebabies-are-pureandinnocent anvil thrower: Pimp Innocent XXXII. Enjoy your new moniker Megan. I hope you choke on it!

Oh and odd ... "Spooks" is filming now, according to the BBC website. So, maybe Olga is doing both for a while? She probably bailed on AMC because they cannot be trusted to tell an actor the truth. Why hang around and invest her few precious beauty years in that backwater when she'll be a huge international prime time star? I'm sure she'll have tons of promotion to do for the show ... and then will be launched into other, more fulfilling work. If she crashes and burns afterwards or if her hubby is adamant about being stateside ... she can always come back and swim in the kiddie pool with Eden.

I always held out hope that ABC would come to its senses and cast Olga on Alias. Seeing her doing spy stuff with Lena Olin (especially) and Jennifer Garner would have been just great. Oh, and Isabella Rossellini too. Wow. But part of my wish comes true. I can't wait to watch Olga doing spy stuff on MI5. She definitely deserves more than AMC has had to offer lately. As much as I will miss her Lena, I am so thrilled for Olga and this improvement in her career! Yay!

Wow - I'm happy again. Olga will still be available on US television (and about as often as we saw her as Lena, ha ha ha) - and A&E's ratings will skyrocket. I'll have to start watching MI5 immediately, so that I have a good background when she finally appears. (Runs to check TV Guide listings - ulp, MI5 isn't listed - does anyone know the next time it will air??) Of course, a very very selfish part of me still wants to see her (maybe recurring???) or at least hear ABOUT her (she could go visit her sickly mother in Chicago and come back during MI5 filming breaks, and they could mention her (where are the straws - I'm grasping here!!) on AMC (on a more regular basis). I guess it's a good thing for her career that I don't rule the world, huh?

I just wonder what the heck the big Monday announcement will be? Maybe I'll go reread her post from yesterday, now that I have more info and can read between the lines.

I'm really happy for Olga too. I think it's a little naive that people are blaming AMC for not offering an incentive for her to stay. Yeah, the writing sucks, but c'mon, I don't think there are very many actresses that would pass up primetime for daytime. I've never seen MI-5, but have a friend who's really into it and has happily promised to prepare me for the end of the year when Olga's episodes start airing. The details from from TV Guide made me a little optimistic too, as it sounds like Olga still has a few months left and Lena will be written out in a satisfying way.

The baby shower was fun. It's too cool seeing almost the entire female cast in one place. I'm glad they gave a little explanation as to why Simone, Liza, and Mia would be there 'cause that bugged me when they first appeared.

Bobby needs a haircut and a shave. The outfit he had one was a little child-molestory as well. He's cute, though and can act. I have a little trouble seeing him as anybody but the geeky guy from Trick too.

Spy!Olga. Olga in a quality production. Olga in adult clothes. Maybe The Punisher will give her The Purple Slip of Evil as a going away gift.

ABC had a Kathy Brier appreciation day but part of that might have been to gloss over Frons's calling KB fat and ugly in an interview.Meanwhile Olga wins poll after poll and gets less screen time than any other poll winners from other soaps and no promotion from the network ,or AMC which is supposed to be trying to boost the ratings.Lena is reduced to playing the romantic rival of a Jersey mall rat and endlessly cooing over Volderbaby so McTrash won't be so squicked out by the whole confident adult female sexuality thing that she just doesn't get. Olga sacrifices her dressed down , dumbed down, three minutes a week on AMC for the hottest show in the UK. Too,too funny. The issue of SOW that announced Olga's leaving had a picture of Eden congratulating McTrash for the WGA.

Word. I was all "The fuh?", too, when they showed up. I should cop to the fact that I've never understood why it is that supposedly Simone and Bianca barely know each other. They lived in the same boarding house for quite a while and you'd think Simone would have been extra nice to Binky after Bianca convinced Whatshername to carry Fusion products. It's a nothing point but I've always found it odd.

Topic--hate to admit it, but I liked the baby shower stuff today. And Erica with the doll had me laughing. Did anyone catch the really insulting catty line Mary through at Babe in the first scene? I loved it being so scathing, but can't remember what she said.

This is totally off topic, but since I keep wasting my hard earned $$ on soap magazines, I thought I'd tell ya'll about a couple items that may interest you (or that just amused me). Page numbers are included, in case you want to quickly check these out in the grocery store line.

From SOD dated March 16, page 24 has pictures from a Susan Lucci sells stuff party, with some castmates. In one picture, all the women are wearing spaghetti strap tank tops (except RB). For some reason Susan looks rather well endowed (maybe a Wonderbra?) in this picture. But the funny thing is the captioning. It reads "Support (the) system. From l.: Rebecca, Eden, Walt, Eva, and Alicia flank Lucci (c.) and her goodies." I had to reread the caption a couple times to realize that they were referring to the product she's selling and not . . . other goodies.

Page 104, someone asked why SOAPnet recently had a commercial that showed Mia with a broken leg. The answer was that in 2002, Liza had accidentally pushed Mia out a window, blah blah blah. But (the best part) there is a picture of Mia lying crumpled on the ground surrounded by party-goers. For those of us who missed this memorable scene, we can at least see the results.

Pages 84, 85, the weekly recap includes two errors (from spoilers that didn't come true, but I'll use spoiler tags anyway). 1) "Erica reluctantly entertains Opal and Myrtle when Jackson dispatches them to the penthouse" - only Opal was there. 2) Lena "reveals to Binks that she has been going to therapy" - this scene appears to have been cut.

And lastly, just an item of interest. Page 66, Eden is talking about filming American Dreams and says that her sister, Tanya, is an editor on that show and that she (Eden) was taping on her sister's birthday. Awww, how sweet.

There was lots of other stuff, but it didn't amuse me like these did.

Even better, maybe she'll wear it in ALL her scenes from now on! I would find that very satisfying.

I checked the A&E website, it says that MI5 isn't currently airing. I'm guessing it's in between seasons or something. I would suggest checking back with it soon. If Olga will soon be actively filming with the show, A&E will most likely start airing it again soon.


Ooh, I can't wait to get my issue. I was fortunate to see the glorious sister-pushing event and would love to get a collectible picture. I think I may have it framed.

Upcoming stories on AMC, particularly those involving Erica’s drinking and Maria/Edmund/Brooke’s struggle over the surgery will not be typical soap stuff, but better, surprising and satisfying, promised head writer Megan McTavish.

Another historic event planned, the first full cross-over story about a baby switch drawing together OLTL’s Kelly and Paul (and their loved ones) with AMC’s Bianca and Babe (and theirs), designed to draw fans of both soaps.
Erica comforts her growing emotional turmoil with booze and Bobby.

Together, the two head off to Philadelphia where Bobby runs into Greenlee.

Greenlee and Ryan are also in Philly, living it up.

Greenlee gives Bobby a lecture about keeping his distance from La Kane.

Greenlee makes for the door, but Ryan keeps her from going.

If Kendall even remotely suspects Ryan and Greenlee are growing intimate, she’ll burst a blood vessel.

Greenlee remains steadfast in her devotion to that vow she made in the mineshaft, changing her ways, mending her past bad deeds, starting with Kendall.

Erica loses her cool when telling off David about what he should have done to help Bianca, instead of going along with her keeping the baby.

Krystal goes about completing what Babe could not, getting that annulment, by first inquiring about the basics with Jack.

Adam spies on Tad and Krystal, to maybe ferret out some damaging info about Babe to use against her.

Erica says something weird to Babe about Bianca and what’s surely gonna happen soon.

The media pounces on Erica about the subject of Bianca.

At Jack’s disciplinary hearing, Erica attends and speaks her piece.

Three women want Tad. But one of them will bow out, prompting the most wanted man to rethink his current bachelor lifestyle.

Tad will fall legitimately, fully in love with one of those women, but she may not be who audience members think.

As Bianca and Babe become great friends, their babies will suffer from maternal separation, thanks to OLTL’s Paul’s machinations in devotion to his Kevin-obsessed sister Kelly’s desperation.

Kelly worries she’ll lose her husband Kevin to Blair, over at OLTL, if he finds out she no longer is carrying his child. So Paul acts to steal Babe’s for Kelly, while stealing Bianca’s for Babe.

Babe has to be drugged for this to happen, but not before she actually does give birth to a boy. Bianca, however, gives birth to a girl. This gender difference will be the nagging something that keeps Babe from contented family existence.

Amidst the strong rumor of an end to a potential love triangle amongst lesbians Bianca, Maggie and Lena comes the actual latest news of the departure of Lena when Olga Sosnovska departs this continent for another to shoot a BBC series in London.

God this show sucks! At least we have Kinks and a probable end to the stupid Maggie portion of the triangle.

I've never been more sorry that my source was right, Mysticks Muse. I'm trying to focus on the silver lining that at least it'll jump-start AMC again from its current idling along in neutral. But watching Bianca and Babe at the baby shower yesterday, juxtaposed with bitchy shrew Kelly suffering the start of her miscarriage on OLTL, just made me irritated. Bianca/Babe are adorable in their friendship, and so don't deserve this, while Kelly is just a fucking bitch who doesn't really care about a baby, she just wants to hold onto her wandering husband. At least Bianca's girl will be with Babe, but I hate the thought of Babe's baby in Kelly's claws. I'm also hoping that Babe's suspicions because of the gender issue will keep her from bonding fully with Bianca's girl, because I so don't want this to turn into some deal where Babe deliberately tries to hold onto Bianca's girl even after she learns the truth. First, Bianca's been through enough; second, I really like the Babe/Bianca friendship.

kariyaki, I caught up on your recaps, and Boyd mentioned in his last scene with Kendall that he had worked out a deal with Singer for probation. I think the charge was obstruction of justice, and he made a sarcastic comment about how the punishment for that was just probation. So I got the sense from all of it that Singer was primarily focused on Kendall, Jack and Reggie, and had always intended to let everyone else off the hook with probation deals.

The new Bobby? I really can't comment right now. Usually recasts don't bother me even if they look really different, but this guy just threw me in both looks and attitude. From what I saw of Brian Gaskill's Bobby Warner, he was a real callow teen surfer-dude type. But then, I guess the key word there is "teen" and Bobby's grown up now. Shouldn't Erica have recognized him, though? It's not that they ever really interacted, but Bobby is Sam's biological father and Erica was part of the Marick family for a long time. (And looking at towhead Sam today just makes the new Bobby even more bizarre.)

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the baby shower. I just really liked getting to see a whole bunch of the AMC actresses in one room, all of them except Naggie being as likable and appealing as possible. Naggie, go away and let Babe be Bianca's new BF. Those two are sweet and adorable friends. The "pregnant bookends" cracked me up. And Babe's still playing the "I could swing that way" angle, from her own version of the Insanely Flirty Walk Kinks did a while back to her choice of a strapless dress for a baby shower. Heh. I liked Bianca's snarky, self-deprecating look when she said "because I'm so good at [speeches] now," and appreciated that she made a real point of complimenting and thanking Babe (it's doubly nice because it helps put Babe in a more favorable light with the other women, since Babe has no friends besides Bianca right now). I thought it was a nice little bit of character-writing that Naggie just had to step in with a funny, but moment-deflating, line, and liked how Bianca handled the situation gracefully, playing along just enough so that there wasn't a big scene caused, then found a funny way to somewhat put Naggie on notice to keep her mouth shut, and then got back to giving Babe the praise Babe needed so much to hear. Yeah, AMC's manipulated me completely. I think Babe's adorable. Damn you, AMC!

Other fun shower bits for me--Kendall proposing a roast, and then proceeding to gush over Bianca (what a surprise, compliment #1 was that Bianca's beautiful. Yes, Kendall, we know you two are hot for each other. Erica looked like she wanted to drink a case of champagne during that). Bianca's little flirty thing when first talking to Kendall of tucking her hair behind her ear and running her hand down to her shoulder. Kendall calling Lena "darling". Kendall's surprised "Me too?" with Opal's present, plus the hilarious bit with Opal pulling her photo and Myrtle's out of her shirt. Lena's adorable blushing when Bianca mentioned that Lena had helped her with the name, and also Lena's enthusiastic seconding of Simone's statement "no children without nannies".

Erica. Therapy. Now. Her level of denial is unbelievable, how she can watch an entire shower of her wealthy pregnant daughter revelling in her pregnancy while surrounded by her gigantic support system and still stick to the claim that Bianca's life will be a tragedy if she has her baby. Here's hoping Babe smacks Erica down just like she did Mary. I'd been relieved throughout the ep that Bianca (and Kendall) were concentrating on enjoying the shower, rather than monitoring their twit mother, though that's no doubt over now. I will admit, though, that Erica's hysterical "Oh! Oh! Oh!" while crashing into Winifred was campily hilarious.

While that was cute, I couldn't help but be flattened by an anvil that had "Look! Their preggo bellies are the same size! See? Baby switch!" scrawled across it. At least we were forewarned enough that I have time to prepare myself for the inevitable. Thanks, man.

Mystic0, I determinedly chose to ignore the foreshadowing that you mentioned with the "pregnant bookends" bit with them now obviously about the same point in their pregnancies--for those keeping score, on OLTL yesterday Kelly was asked how far along SHE is and she didn't answer--but it made me annoyed in the other way I said earlier. There they were being adorable and friendly and joyful about their pregnancies, and they're both going to lose their first months with their babies, thanks to that non-adorable, bitchy shrew.

I mostly FF'd through Ryan/Greens, and even through Greenlee/Michelle Bauer, because I saw that Greenlee/MB was just doing yet more of the character-epiphany stuff that we already saw when Greens was stuck in the mineshaft. Enough already. Greenlee, I thought you wanted to make amends with people. Now you're considering going away with Ryan instead? WTF? I did see a bit with Ryan/Greens where she was trying to convince him to let her bankroll him in some enterprise that they could work together on. Mystic0, in light of our wondering about it being mentioned a few times about Bianca's empire in connection to Kendall, I wondered if this could be further possible setup for something. With Bianca thinking her baby's gone, she'll need something to do. Kinks turning their attention to business would be fine with me.

Oh, and Mystic0, going back a few pages to something you said about AMC forgetting half the time about Bianca's trust fund, I'm choosing to fanwank that Bianca's always lived so simply that many expenses seem a bigger deal to her than they should otherwise. It's a weak fanwank, but this "let's pretend Bianca's broke!" shit drives me crazy, so I'm going to go with it. I am disappointed she's buying a two-bedroom place and not a mansion, because otherwise we could've had all the Kane-Montgomerys living together (with assorted love interests moving in and out as appropriate). Yes, I know that buying a mansion would've been out of character for Bianca, and that it would take a lot of Writer Fiat to get everyone in the family to agree to live together--but I don't care, the family hijinks would've been well worth it.

As far as Olga goes, it should be remembered she did not sign a long-term contract last spring, when she was frontburner, getting excellent writing, and McTrash wasn't around. It's convenient to blame McTrash (and I blame her for lots of stuff, believe me) and AMC for supposedly having made Olga decide to leave, but the reality is that it was never her plan to stay if she could find another role. That's why she signed a short-term contract in the first place. And that's totally fine and understandable. Olga is at a point in her life and career where signing a three or four year contract would mean that when it ended, she'd be approaching a dangerous age for an actress. This new role is not only good in itself, it's also excellent for Olga in that it'll almost certainly act as a springboard into other roles and opportunities that she can use to hopefully establish herself as a hot and sought-after actress in Britain. I think she can do it and I wish the best of luck. But Olga's departure really has nothing to do with her work or lack thereof on AMC (in fact, she's leaving when both her workload and Lianca are picking up again), what they did or didn't offer her in contract negotiations, and so on. She doesn't want to be locked down, and never has--her career plans never included AMC long-term. And that's fine, even if it's disappointing for me personally since I love Lianca. I blame AMC for not giving us more Lianca in months past, but for Olga's departure? Nah. It's like Josh Duhamel. She was going to leave once her contract was up if she found something else, which she did. This is the right decision for her, and would still be the right decision even if she'd been frontburner all along and was guaranteed to be frontburner for the next three years. She doesn't have the luxury Eden/Rebecca/Alicia did of signing one or more multi-year contracts, and career-wise, needed to jump now. That time is coming up for Rebecca now, too.


Hee, yeah, I'm a little biased too by that. But also, put Alexa by Liz, and see who's blowing the other out of the room in terms of charisma, appeal, and acting. I read that Liz basically acknowledged at the Brokerage that she liked playing Frankie more, and it's showing--as discussed often here, she's one of those actresses who can't really put anything into a role that's not written in the script.

And seeing as Bobby is Palmer's grandson, you'd think she more than remember who he is at the least.

Has anyone figured out exactly why Erica gave Enchantment to Kendall? I don't mean 'why Kendall?', just why give Enchantment away at all? Is this starting a new business just a good excuse to leave town? I'd imagine Enchantment has overseas offices Erica could decide needed her personal touch or something. I just don't understand if she is bestowing it to Kendall because she didn't want it as a tie to PV or if she had some other meaning.

And now I don't even know what I mean... :(



Doesn't that shit bug? I agree that Bianca lives simply and doesn't throw money around, but lets just stop pretending she's broke. I wonder if TPTB will remember that Jamie has a trust fund. I'm pretty sure Tad split that Orsani (sp?) money between Jamie and JR. How does everyone feel about Jamie and Mags rooming up? Hot fun or prime FF material? I hate to keep playing 'Kick the Liz' but if she's getting bored with the show, it just might be the time to move on. Alexa isn't a dynamo (she's still green) but she has an obvious pulse and has some energy about her. The one thing about Alexa that distracts me is, she always looks like she's crying or has been crying. She's got that Paul Rudd 'I've been bawling' wet-eyed thing going on.

Enchantment at least has an office in NY, because I remember when Erica was introducing Kristi to Bianca, she said that Kristi had done some modeling for the company in New York. But who knows, because Enchantment has such a bizarre corporate structure anyway. I remember when Erica broke off her engagement to Stamp, and told Boyd about it, and first she told him to get CFO Lena in to help her write a press release about it, and when told Lena wasn't available, to get Bianca, who IIRC headed the youth division, in to write a press release about it. When Boyd said Bianca was off with Lena, I thought Erica was about to ask him, the chemist, to help her write the press release. Because apparently Enchantment doesn't have a publicity department, or even a publicity person.

But anyway, I'm digressing. I think that Erica really does want a fresh start. She's identified herself so strongly with Enchantment, this company that she created and built from the ground up into a powerhouse. And then she found out that Bianca kept her pregnancy a secret, and is much closer to Kendall than to Erica, and it shattered Erica's core belief that her precious baby daughter needs/wants her more than anyone or anything else, and that realization sent a shockwave through her overall worldview. She's questioning herself, her own identity, and trying to reassess her life in view of her belief that her loved ones betrayed her, and I think as such, Enchantment has become kind of tainted in her eyes (since it was a huge part of her identity) and consequently has a lot less meaning to her than it once did. Remember that shot in the ep with Kinks and Mary, when Erica kind of staggered down the hall, looked in both directions as if she had no idea which way the exit was, and then walked offscreen as the camera stayed on the huge glam photo of a younger Erica? I thought that was very telling.


FF material for me. I watched all of their scenes this week to see how I feel about them, and I was just zzzzzzzzz. And Maggie still has no job, so I'm assuming yes, David's still paying for everything. She's such a leech. Apparently he at least has her on a set monthly amount.


I don't know if she signed a three or four year contract, but she's committed until it's up, unless the show fires her. She could always ask to be let out of her contract if she wants (and I hope she does ask), but there's no guarantee that her request would be granted. But NY is expensive and it's certainly nice to have a steady paycheck, especially if you aren't putting much effort into working for it.

I can't believe I guessed about Spooks correctly. That was just my wishful fangirl thinking at work. Yea!!! Olga is going to be fabulous on Spooks. IMHO, the writing is some of the best t.v. has to offer, and she will fit right in with the stellar cast. This was already answered a little, but Spooks/MI-5 is currently in production in the U.K. and new episodes will air in, I think, October. Seasons are short, and the A&E version is edited for time. The full version is only on bbc. If you want to read up on it, I suggest looking the bbc's website. Its way better than A&E.

I'd like to cast a vote for Mamie/Jaggie as prime, Grade AA ffward material. I couldn't care less, really.

I wouldn't be surprised if Susan's been casting a jealous eye over at OLTL, though, where both Robin Strasser and Catherine Hickland are romping with hot younger men.

I'm - so far - liking the new Bobby. Though I liked Brian Gaskill, for the most part I hated his Bobby Warner, except the cute bonding with Sam. I can't believe I never realized that Sam's biological father is now his uncle. That would have to be weird.

Are they implying that Greenlee knows Bobby, or does she just warn him off because he happens to be with Erica?
