And I could see Krystal doing it, too, being all "the only thing that matters is making sure my baby is happy and rich." Ugh.

I could see it being Krystal and Erica working together, what with Erica on the verge of a meltdown, but we'll have to see. I'm still whining to my source without much luck. The problem is that enough came out in other spoilers hinting at one part of the SL that it was safe to leak that, but how this part goes down is still under tight wraps. And my source knows I'll blab the second I hear the details, and right now it could be traced back. Heh. Perhaps if I had not thrown a huge fit upon hearing Bianca's baby was involved...

That's the reason for Bianca's baby being involved, by the way, and why the pregnancy dates among Babe/Kelly/Bianca aren't really matching up. Kelly had been planned for a baby-stealing SL from the start of her current stint on OLTL, and Babe was always intended to be involved. But McTrash realized that Babe isn't going over all that well and that few care about her baby--notice Babe/JR/Jamie was de-emphasized during February sweeps. OLTL has plenty of drama on their side because of Kelly and Kevin, two long-standing characters, but McTrash was left with nothing much on the AMC side. But it involves another soap and ABC wants it, so she threw Bianca into the mix. Presto, more AMC viewers care. (They're also pissed, but when has that ever bothered McTrash?)

While I too object to some of the horrors we've seen on Erica lately, I think it's actually right in character for her. She's very much the type of woman who would continue to wear outfits like this for as long as she can. Erica's ultimate blow-up will be at Bianca, not Kendall. (P.S. Nice try at the living arrangements thing--you crack me up.)

My personal guess is that it's 70/30 odds against actual alcoholism. For one thing, her family and friends are becoming aware at too early a point if Erica were going to go all the way into alcoholism.

I don't know if TPTB will allow it to be vocalized or not, though, because of how vile the root of Erica's anger is. It seems she's focusing on the lies, and letting what bit of her anger that's leaking through her facade be attributed to that, but it's Bianca keeping her baby that's the real issue. Owning up to that's gonna be a bitch. Mainly because Erica's opposition to it is probably 10% (if that) honest worry about Bianca and 90% pure selfishness on Erica's part. Tough sell, that.

I think AMC will have Erica own up to it, Mystic0. Yes, it's vile, but Erica's had a lot of vile stuff to say over the months. Remember when she was going on and on about how Kendall had felt like a tumor growing inside of her? And there was her actively wailing at God at the hospital for not showing "mercy" by having Bianca miscarry. Her ugly feelings are already out there and known.

ETA: And I really hope that Erica rips into Bianca in front of Kendall. If it happens during a discussion about Erica's drinking, Bianca will probably play good little daughter and just take all the abuse because it's Erica's drinking that she wants to focus on--Erica's self-medicating sorta-alcoholism makes the point of worry herself. But Kendall? Forget it, man. She won't give a shit about whether it's an intervention or not. Not if Erica's screaming at Bianca for keeping her baby. Erica will be lucky if Kendall doesn't throw her bony ass off a balcony. (And then the injuries from that can cause Erica to fall back into her prescription-drugs addiction...)

I think Erica's definitely most angry at Bianca right now, but I still don't think she'll actually take it out on Bianca. I think she'll use Kendall to vocalize all of her feelings about Bianca. It will be obvious that she's doing that, but it will be Kendall that she actually yells at, at least until Bianca steps up to defend Kendall and confronts Erica about it being her (Bianca) that Erica's really mad at.

I agree that Erica is doing her best, and will continue to do her best, not to vent her anger at Bianca. But it has to happen eventually. Her self-control isn't going to last forever. She's clearly already hanging by a thread where Bianca is concerned, because she's avoiding Bianca as much as possible. Bianca's the one she's angriest at, and Erica is never going to work through any of this until she admits that and vents. Erica may start off screaming at Kendall, but, with the exception of the pregnancy scam (which she's learned from), Bianca's generally directly confrontational with Erica. She knows when Erica is really angry at her, and taking it out on someone else, and steps in. If Erica starts yelling at Kendall as a way to vent her anger over Bianca, she's only going to get a few sentences out before Bianca calls her on it and makes Erica say it to her instead.

Since we are, I'll comment that I think Erica is really the maddest at the baby, and I'm interested to see how much of her venom is directed at the baby. Plus, she'll probably be mad at Bianca for buying a house and not moving in with her again. Well, not really, but I wanted to make you look.

I also thought that Erica's drinking today was a big FU to Jack and Opal (more to Jack, since Erica didn't offer him a drink). But I especially enjoyed the two very loud gulps that I heard - I wondered if SL was wearing a body mike since they were so loud. It sounded like she was really enjoying whatever it was that she was drinking (very convincing acting for me).

Totally off topic - I got Olga's Jason and the Argonauts DVD yesterday and watched it rather than the Acadamy Awards (such is the life of an OCD sufferer). At one point near the end, this guy who is a thief is snuggling up to Olga's character while she sleeps. When she wakes up and notices, she gives this really disgusted face - it was soooooo totally a Lena being annoyed at Maggie face - I laughed and laughed and laughed.

What was the clinking sound during the Erica/Jack/Opal scene? At first I thought Erica was pulling out bottles off-camera, then I noticed Opal's big bracelets. Is that what it was?

Now that I've seen the ep, add me to those who agree that Erica was sending a FU to Jack and Opal. I also paid entirely too much attention to the level of the liquid in the glass, and Erica seems to have left it entirely alone after the first couple of sips. So it was more about making a point for her than anything.

Opal's face when Erica was talking about her plans was priceless. (And I laughed to think of Erica doing reality TV--ok, ok, she was calling it a documentary, but it's reality TV. Come on.) I was also amused by the fact that one scene ended with Erica asking Opal how she was doing, and when we cut back, what's going on? Erica's talking about Erica, of course.

I understand what Jack is trying to do, I generally love Jack, and he's technically right in that Erica needs to talk about her feelings and all, but I have to admit, he's driving me crazy in how he goes about it. It's not specific to this situation with Erica for me--I remember being annoyed at the way Jack was going about trying to get Bianca to talk to him about her abortion. There's just something about the way he approaches it, whatever, that raises my hackles. It's sort of an attitude of entitlement, that everything is his business and that any subject, no matter how personal, is fair game for him to discuss when he wants. It's actually making me side with Erica on not wanting to talk to him at all, just as I was totally on Bianca's side in not wanting to talk about her abortion with him--yeah, I know she didn't actually have one, but it still bothered me when he brought the subject up. In his scenes with Erica, I keep telling him to step off.

That top Kendall was wearing wasn't quite right on her--the pattern, while thankfully not floral, is a bit too busy when Alicia's wearing her curly hair down. But the colors were great on her and the top overall was a lot sharper than much of Kendall's wardrobe. I liked the black skirt also. And Boyd, while being the catty bitch I called him earlier, was all kinds of hot in his scruffiness. Why didn't he grow a little facial hair earlier? C'mere Boyd. I love getting my face a little scratched up kissing scruffy men. Aw, where are you going? Damn.

Apparently the Punisher has instituted the "both cannot be dressed well" rule for Lianca that Kinks has been suffering through (though with Kendall and Bianca's outfits, if they see each other tomorrow that rule just might be over for them). Bianca looks terrific--and about two months less pregnant than last week, not that I'm complaining--in that green. Why don't they have Bianca wear green more often? After black and red, it's her best color. But Lena--look, I'm relieved they cut her hair, though still annoyed that we had to go through that horrible phase for nothing--but she is not someone who wears pastel pink. Gah. She's a corporate shark! And is that the same awful oversized gray jacket she's worn before, or does she, god forbid, own two awful oversized gray jackets? (Lena, let Bianca buy your coats for you from now on.)

I see Naggie is still going with boob-emphasizing tops. God, she's clueless. Not that I want her to figure out what attracts Binks, mind you. And Lena? Nice subtle smirk on her face just before she wipes it off and replaces with an innocent look. Ha. This is soooo her revenge on Naggie, I see. Good job. And props to Olga, she always nails that femme-fatale-bitch shit. Lena's someone who can slide a stiletto in your ribs with a flash of gloating in the middle of an innocent smile. She's sweet to Bianca, but that edge is still there when she needs it with other people.

I definitely see your point, BK, about Bianca's wanting to come forward to put an end to the whole murder mystery once and for all. What kept me guessing as to Bianca's exact motivations was her continual, "I'm guilty, so prosecute me!" spiel, even after everyone was telling her that what she did fit under the perimeters of justifiable homicide.

I agree that Kendall doesn't want Bianca to know about her murder attempts on the Asshat, but, I found it strange that she would continue to shelter Bianca from the truth when she had just agreed to end all of the deception between them. The fact that Kendall did not seem to take that agreement to heart could prove for some interesting story-points down the road should the writers think/choose to delve into the issue.



No, I loved it, too. But, because I found it terribly sexy. More Kinkscode, people. "Kendall, you could have. . ." and then Kendall nods--we all know that the end of that sentance was "died". Kendall was telling Bianca that that is how strong her love is, that she would die for Bianca. That "no one" in Bianca's "No on deserves that kind of love and sacrifice. . ." was a substitution for "I". However much I disagree with that sentence; I'm a hopeless romantic myself--in my opinion, if you don't love someone enough to die for them without a second thought, you don't really love them--it was a genuinely sweet moment that I watched. . .twice. Yeah, that's the ticket--twice. And of course I agree that Kendall would do it all again if she had to, that's just the way she is. And I love her for it.

I think that Erica, Erica Kane is well over-due for some tough love. Someone needs to just shout in her face that she's full of shit. I know that's probably going to happen eventually, but way down the road, and by then she'll probably be a full-blown basket-case. Eerie Erica, good. Self-centered, righteously indignant Erica, annoying as hell.

Well, I went by Bianca insisting in the briefing room that Kendall had been tortured enough, and again when she asked in the courtroom whether there would be another trial, that ending Kendall's hell was the primary objective. But Bianca's also a good person, and however much that shooting truly was self-defense--Michael was certainly going to rape her again--I think the issue is a little clouded for her because deep down, killing him is something that she wanted to do on some level. That night, with Naggie, she said she wanted him dead. Her feelings are very jumbled up. She knows it was self-defense, she's not proud of what she did, but somewhere she also had a little visceral satisfaction in the fact that she killed him. It's not black-and-white for her.


Well, Kendall didn't really agree anything of the sort. Bianca and Erica basically kept after her until Kendall finally gave in, and Kendall knew the jig was pretty much up anyway, what with Bianca remembering. Heck, she still couldn't make herself say that she'd seen Bianca until Bianca finally spit out for her to just go ahead and say it. If Bianca hadn't, they'd all probably still be standing in the briefing room today waiting for Kendall to finish her sentence. Hee.


I don't think that was exactly Bianca's point. She put her own life and baby's life at risk for Kendall a couple of months earlier, after all. And she had just confessed to murder to save Kendall. And I'm sure she would die for some of the people she loves. I think Bianca's point was more about assessing the situation, about not being unnecessarily self-destructive. In this case, Kendall could have saved everyone, especially herself, a lot of trouble if she had just told the truth six months before. It's lovely that Kendall was willing to die for Bianca, but it was also unnecessary. It's like Romeo & Juliet--yeah, it's great that they loved each other that much, but they were idiots, too. Or the couple in O. Henry's Gift of the Magi. Or Titanic, as much as I hated that movie--hey, if Rose hadn't made the Grand Romantic Gesture of going back on the ship, Jack would've lived. I mean, in short, some pragmatism is a good thing. And while Bianca was including herself in that "nobody deserves that kind of love and sacrifice," I do feel she was speaking in general terms too, because that can get Kendall into so much trouble. God help Kendall if she were to run into someone unscrupulous who would take advantage of Kendall's willingness to do anything for love without thinking things through--oh wait, she did. Michael. And most of the Kane-Montgomerys were willing to let Kendall suffer some more. Bianca's the only one who stepped up and said enough. This was Bianca's mess, not Kendall's. Let's put it this way, it's fine that someone would die for you, but you really shouldn't let them if it can be avoided. Because otherwise? You really don't deserve to have that person die for you. But, abstract concepts aside, I think Bianca's really aware of Kendall's hyper-neediness, both for someone to love and for someone to love her, and as such, sees how Kendall's extremism in this regard can lead her to some very bad places with some very bad people.

That said, Kendall's probably never going to understand this concept, so it's a good thing she has Bianca to watch her back for her.

Yeah, but, on the other hand, Kendall had no way of knowing that Bianca shot Michael in self-defense. For all Kendall knew, (and I think that it's what she assumed) the murder went down just as Forehead theorized--Bianca knocked on the door, invited herself in, then popped Michael one. And due to the fact that Bianca couldn't remember what really happened, it is very possible that had Kendall simply told the truth, Bianca would be rotting away in a prison cell right now.



I agree that Kendall is desperate to love and to be loved and that it is probably her biggest short-coming. However, that statement bothered me because of how general it was. I would have preferred seeing Bianca take the time to elaborate fully on what she meant, for the purposes of clarification and to relate it specifically to Kendall's actions (and the fact that it would have meant more SisYay doesn't hurt either). In the place of some of the more superfluous portions of Bianca's speech to the gallery, there should have been more interaction between Kinks, as far as Bianca chastizing Kendall for being so reckless and choosing to shoulder Bianca's burden without giving her a chance to handle it herself. I have decided, because it makes me giddy, to fanwank it that Bianca will elaborate soon, during post-brainstorming pillowtalk.



And in this way, Bianca matches Kendall in possessing a personality trait that is quite dangerous--an overwhelming need to be in the right. Bianca has so much to lose right now that succumbing to grand notions of "goodness" and "right and wrong" can be nothing but destructive.

Certainly. But in that case, take Bianca to a shrink and work on the repressed memories and find out what really happened. The bottom line is, while I love Kendall for protecting Bianca, it really wasn't the best way to handle the situation at all. I don't actually think Kendall ever believed Bianca murdered Michael, anyway--look at Kendall's speech to Bianca at the clinic, where she praises Bianca for how she lives her life and for being such a good person and so on. If even clueless Naggie was able to immediately figure out that if Bianca shot Michael, she hadn't had a choice, Kendall probably believed the same. But she was also channeling Erica to some extent, in that it's best to bury and repress and deny anything unsettling.


Well, let's face it, it wasn't exactly the time or setting. Hee. (Plus it'd be insensitive to bring up Kendall's insecurities and whatnot in front of half the town. The part she did say was okay because it turned on Kendall's great love and sacrifice, which makes Kendall look good and noble in front of everyone.) Bianca may try again later, but I think she's also worried about it ever seeming that she's ungrateful or thinks Kendall was an idiot, and she probably recognizes Kendall's not likely to change. And so she took all the blame on herself for having blocked the event out in the first place, and hates herself for it. That part was not her fault, but she sees it that way because if she had known, then she could've stopped Kendall blah blah preventioncakes.


I don't think it was so much a grand notion as it was just trying to be honest. She didn't go and leave out the self-defense aspect of her story, after all. And it's actually what saved Bianca with the judge, most likely. The judge saw someone who was trying to take responsibility, not someone who was being weaselly in trying to shift or evade blame. Hannah's a no-nonsense type and it makes sense that she'd respond to that. Notice that earlier in the courtroom, the judge is somewhat helpful in trying to tell Bianca to keep quiet, but neither does she volunteer to intercede. She wipes her hands and puts it all on Singer, actually. It's only after Bianca gets through with that stilted courtroom speech that Hannah decides to at least listen to the story. And as SkiffyPup points out, there's a difference between prosecution and punishment--Bianca was relieved and happy when Singer announced he wouldn't file charges, not "damn, you must prosecute me for murder, I must plead guilty!"

The other thing Bianca did that made me think she still had two brain cells left was the supersavvy line in chambers when she said to the judge, "When you ... (I mean) when the court released him ... "

She totally back off making it personal for Judge L and Judge L appreciated her not rubbing it in. Good move to let the big cheeze know you don't hold her responsible.

Got the appearance count for February done. That day off last month really cost Kendall. She slipped from her number one spot and Fuckrag snagged it. He was on every single day, dammit.

Hey guys...so the Emmys are being announced Thursday morning...I'm taping it, but won't be able to watch it until I get home from work--so anyone wanna volunteer to post here Thursday as soon as they are announced? Pretty please??

I'm not so sure about AMC's chances...I think the show will snag Best Drama, Writing and Directing, but as far as performers go, I think only Eden has a chance for a nom. I'd love love love for Lil'Budig and Luscious to snag Supp. Noms, but there's stiff competition there...It's also a shame that LaLucci probably won't get a nom because she's doing the best work of her career, IMHO, right now...

As far as the show goes these days...zzzzzzzzzzz...I know there is always a lull after a BIG story wraps, but I've been in a "I could care less" mood with the whole show since the Cambias reveal. Did like Catty Boyd's sayonara with the scruffy look. Can't believe he's gone and we only saw him shirtless once!

Oh yeah, this spoiler made me gag: Ryan and Greenlee embark on an adventure. At least that will cut my AMC viewing time down. MAJOR FF material!

The big thing in the February tallies is, notice how much Alexa Havens slipped. I mean, she's really a nice little actress, but her SL and her leading men have been killing her.

McTrash isn't completely inflexible and does have some willingness to adjust screentime for SLs/characters that aren't working--JP is all but gone, Babe/Jamie/JR has been de-emphasized, and so on. But the fact the baby SL is a crossover with OLTL ties her hands. Speaking of which, while I loathe the idea of Kinks being separated from their girl with the intensity of a kajillion suns, while watching Kelly on OLTL yesterday, I had to offer up a little thanks that at least it's Babe and not Kelly who's getting the Kinks lovechild. Babe, for all her many faults, at least has a heart where kids are concerned. I feel sorry for Babe's baby. Kelly doesn't really want a kid, she just wants to hang onto Kevin, and she's a cold, cold bitch.

My meeting with my GSM today has been extended to a full hour (but it's still not a lunch meeting--whatever!), so I'll have to PBP it. And tomorrow a half-day group workshop. I'm crabby. Heh.

ETA: dirksunboy, the episode submissions for many of the AMC actors were very strong. So in addition to Eden, I think Rebecca, Vincent, Finola, Wil deVry, and MBJ all stand good chances. (Alicia deserves a nomination and submitted probably her best ep, but I fear her screentime in it was too little compared to what the other supporting actress prenominees will submit--just look at Rebecca's ep, in which she was in something like three-fourths of it.) The only pre-nom actor who had strong material last year but completely blew it with the ep pick is, surprise surprise, Susan Lucci.

I'm actually in uncharted territory (for me) and am only watching one soap now, so it's hard for me to speculate about anyone's chances, since I don't know their competition. I think Eden will definitely get a nom, based on how much critical praise she's gotten. I don't know if she'll win, though. kariyaki said once that all the peeps in the younger actress category had pretty strong material, so who knows? I'd love to see Finola snag a win. She's just awesome.

From what I understand the supporting actress category is just brutal, so I don't hold out much hope for Rebecca or Alicia. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised! Rebecca was good, as always, but I'd really like to see Alicia win it. She's continually impressed the hell outta me lately. As for Susan, her work this year has been damn good but last year's crop wasn't particularly impressive, to me anyways. I don't know what the voters look for or what all they factor in before placing their votes, though.



I'm so torn about Alexa. When she first started, I hated her and didn't think she was any good. But now I notice that I actually feel bad for Babe at the oddest times. Really, I was astounded when I first noticed that I felt for her (just a little!) when Adam or JR were being particularly cruel to her. (Which doesn't make a damn bit of sense seeing as how they are being cruel because of her sluttiness, which she's totally guilty of.) So this logic defying compassion I sometimes feel for Babe, must be because Alexa *is* good at her job. Or maybe I've finally lost it.

Well, Adam hated Babe on sight, long before he knew anything about her, so his cruelty was originally undeserved. And while Babe certainly made her own bed, I do feel sympathy for her when JR is being particularly nasty too. It helps that I'm finally clear on who she loves right now--JR (and not his money)--and that I've seen that when she is not in this stupid JR/Jamie SL, she's actually a pretty sweet, goodhearted girl. Plus bringing her mother to town also helped, in a way, as much as I hate Krystal, because now I understand that Babe was taught a lot of her worst tactics from an early age. She has little self-esteem and is a duck out of water.

Alexa's green and one thing she hasn't learned yet is how to rise above the material. But that's okay. At least there's some raw talent there and she can work on her craft. I really don't think it's fair to ask a newbie actress to sleep with her husband's brother on the first day and then take months before finally fleshing out the character just an iota. If Babe were supposed to be a villainness, that would have been one thing, but she's supposed to be more misguided than anything. It doesn't excuse her behavior, but she's not evil incarnate and she's looked down on by most of the town (not that they don't have reason), so there's a bit of an underdog factor there for me. Outside of her mother, the only person who is genuinely nice to her is Bianca.
