Okay, I just caught up on the last five days or so of TWoP (who needs to be actually working), and I've just gotta say that lunch with Alicia and Eden recap was the freakiest thing I've ever seen!!! Poor Alicia and Eden!!! You know, the boyfriend and I really thought about trying to win that auction (of course, it would have been more for me than him!) ....I know the girls would have had a better time with a couple of fun gay boys! <g>
But seriously, that was just weird. You know what it reminded me of? Have any of you ever read any of the columns by "Jean Teasdale" on The Onion website? They're fake of course, but the way "she" writes was a LOT like this BAM chick....it's funny of course, because "Jean Teasdale" ISN'T real, while this lunch recap was scary because this chick IS real. "College level dissertations" my ASS!

My SoapNet friend is supposed (fingers crossed) to have taped the Tad the Cad Marathon for me...you guys have me excited! I've been watching the show since 1982 (the only 7th grade boy hooked on it, i'm sure!) so I remember the Tad and Liza and Marion days...can't wait to see Nina, Cliff, Chuck, Donna...

I watched Friday's episode with a friend of mine and her husband. He sees AMC off and on with her, and he kept whining while we watched it how horrible and trite it all was...EXCEPT the Kendall/Erica scenes which even he had to admit ROCKED...He thinks Greenlee is hot but begged me to FF the mineshaft scenes, asked "What the FUCK is she wearing!?!" when Maggie walked in, and every time there was a Lena/Bianca scene he kept asking "Are they gonna get it on or what?" And he asked at least twice, "Is MYRTLE on today?" ..It's pretty interesting getting a straight man's perception of the show!

Anyone else have the chorus of Female of the Species running over and over in their heads when watching Kinks gush over each other? No? Just me, okay... Ah, today's show. Greenlee's hit a new low. Wearing Kendall's ring? That's just sad. You've lost her, Greens, save some dignity. I swear, the minute Greens gets outta there, she's gonna run get a perm and start flouncing around in florals. The Greens/Ryan psychic connection was worth it just to see Cam's 'acting'. Whoo, that was baaaaaaaaad. Anyways, go with it Ryan! Greenlee's your psychic soul mate! Go, fall into the mine too, asshole!

Huh, the Mikey/Erica scenes. Michael is just vile. Are we to think that Michael's spirit is driving these little visitations ala Buffy? Or is it just totally the person being visited's subconscious? I'm really fearing for poor Kendall Jr. Mikey was really beating the baby will be just like me drum pretty hard and Erica's "I'll be rid of you" speech scared me for the baby even more. Run, baby! Granny's gonna do something horrible!

Reggie! Livia! I love you both.

Mmm, Kinks! They were so cute and protective of each other today. Kendall worrying over Bianca's heart? Wanting Reggie to keep watch over Bianca for her? She's so sweet. "The only heart in this room I care about is yours!!!" Aw, Binks, you old romantic, you!

That it was. I don't know how to act a psychic connection, but that wasn't it. I wish they'd at least implied that Leo was trying to "send" Ryan to help Greens. It still would have been cheesy, but at least it would have been within the soap world's definition of "believable."

However, since I'm rewriting the show anyway, why couldn't Leo send David to help Greenlee? I admit I never thought I'd be on that bandwagon, but after their scene last week, I'm getting there.

I loved that Greg was caught in the Chateau when the fire broke out.

The anvils were pushing handicap accessible facilities at the time I guess.

And how silly was it that Chuck would leave that baby unattended backstage. Donna was soooo over protective that you just knew he was going to do something to kill the kid eventually. But come on....he is a doctor even!

BTW - how did Erica get out of the fire? Did Tom come to her rescue or something? Or Mike Roy? Or Brooke?

Or, maybe, Kendall said something to get Bianca to calm down. Something along the lines of, "With your heart-rate up like that, the doctor won't give you a clean bill of health and let you out of here. No clean bill of health, no brainstorming. . ." Serenity now. . . Heh.

Heh heh heh. Aren't those cuts interesting? Hey, remember how pissed we were that Erica called right in the middle of Kinks planning to leave town together? You know, Bianca changed outfits before going to see Erica...suggestive, no?

I EEEEEEEEE'd right at the start when I saw that Kendall was sleeping in a chair next to Bianca. That is, once again, SUCH a soap couple-y thing. The forehead kiss was wonderful; yes, they're totally in love. But what I really liked best today, that others have already commented on, is how damn concerned about each other they are. They're both like, "Forget about me, I've got to take care of you." Bianca tearing up when she had to accept that she could not go to the courthouse with Kendall today? Awwwwww. It was killing her that she couldn't be there for Kendall. And all Kendall's monitoring of Binky and their baby? Totally girlfriendish.
And I snickered when Kendall said she wanted to get Bianca out of there--you know she wants to get Bianca home because hospital beds aren't that comfortable for brainstorming. Ah, Kinks.

One more bit of business that I ran through the Pervy filter--Bianca's smile when Kendall said that Erica had said she was glad Kinks was close. My filter came up with, "Mom approves? Terrific! When can we start planning the wedding?"

Bianca and Reggie were great too. I adored the way he said "I love you so much" when hugging her. Melted my heart. I loved how he expressed that he wished she had told him about the baby without getting huffy about it or making it all about himself. Just letting her know that he would've been there for her, and she in turn letting him know that she hadn't wanted to get him mixed up in all the lies.

Y'know, I'm starting to get hopeful again that it will be a Kendall Jr. and not a Travis. It occurred to me that, if we have a baby switch, that Boobe might give birth to a stillborn boy, and Bianca a healthy girl, and that if Erica switches the babies, she might use the fact that the baby Bianca thinks was her was a boy to try to get her daughter to feel better (y'know, "at least you don't have to deal with a Mikey Jr."...). And Bianca being 90% sure she's pregnant with a girl might lead to her starting to wonder about whether there was a baby switch. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's just that I really, really want the Kinks lovechild to be a girl.

So, the coat in Bianca's flashback probably isn't Lena's, then--Bianca's just reacting to any black coat. Makes much more sense. Kendall's coat didn't have a hood and I don't remember Lena's coat having a hood either, so in that case, the coat Bianca's remembering doesn't belong to either of them. Speaking of clothes, as soon as Philly said that the woman who went to see Mikey and shot him was in classy clothes, I knew we could rule out Kendall as the killer for sure. Heh. Meanwhile Bianca was in a sophisticated black dress, and Erica in a tailored suit. But Mikey's taunting of Erica--what he said about Kendall still being the daughter that Erica would throw back if she had to choose--points to Bianca. (Plus Erica's just going on too much about whether she's the killer, so it ain't her.) I liked the cross-cutting between Erica/Philly and Bianca, and the look on Bianca's face after the gunshot was heard was damn interesting. I hope it was the look she had on her face while shooting Mikey. And now we know there was an argument first. I can't wait to hear what was said.

The whole psychic-connection thing was just weird. And Frankenbrow is as dumb as ever. Guess he forgot that, first, Bianca already has a substantial trust fund, and second, that Bianca doesn't like getting anything from the Cambias estate. She really has no choice in this matter, but Frankenbrow was just stupid to think that she'd be happy about it.

Sigh.....Kinks.

Yep, even if there weren't a glorious Kinky undercurrent, I'd still be cooing at the TV screen. They are so damn sweet to each other. And actually listen to each other when they talk! I even liked it when Bianca called Kendall on her bullshit paranoia about Ryan (not that I want Binky to win that argument). See, Ryan? It is possible to talk to Kendall without sending her spiraling into a fit of insecurities. kariyaki said it best in her recap;

Kendall's bossy act sends me into a state of acute cuteness intoxication. She's so damn happy to have someone to look out for, who's also looking out for her. Kendall will be an excellent second mother. Ah, Kinks, I love thee.



Word! He was so great today, with his little moose. Aw, he's the best brother ever. Is it possible to be this smitten with an entire family? The Kane-Montgomerys rock.

Yup. Plot-wise, today was a "slow" ep, but I really enjoyed the hour anyway because it was mostly about family. Jack/Reggie, Kendall/Bianca, Bianca/Reggie--all their scenes kicked ass. Erica telling FEA that Kendall was as much her daughter as Bianca? Wonderful. And can't forget pariah Greenlee, either--I liked what Jack, Reggie and Bianca all said about her because it's dead on for their characters. That is, of course Jack still loves her and is taking a balanced view, while Reggie and Bianca are still very down on Greenlee. And I liked her monologues today (though I know it will quickly get old), particularly when she said she had so much to say to Kendall and Bianca. I really like that her turning point is coming on her own, as a result of being stuck in the mineshaft, and not because of Frankenbrow.

Frankenbrow aside, I just thought this was a nice solid little character-driven ep. I appreciated the insights into Erica's mind (for what it's worth, I personally took Mikey today as a manifestation of Erica's subconscious), Kendall telling Bianca she trusts too much and Bianca telling Kendall she trusts too little, and so on. We mostly just spent time with the Kane-Montgomerys today, really, and I could happily watch an entire soap about them alone. With the addition of Reggie and Greenlee, and Jack and Erica reconnecting, they've turned into a terrific core family. A lot of it is the great acting, a lot of it is the fabulous family chemistry among all the actors in the family, a lot of it is that they're all distinct personalities. I just love all the various interactions.

ETA: I just read the second fan's recap of the lunch and it was so much better. Actual talk about Alicia and Eden personally, as well as what they said about non-Liz castmates from Olga to Rebecca...Eden lucked out in her conversation partner. I had to crack up at the part of the recap where the fan mentioned that all the tidbits of her conversation with Eden that she was relating occurred while the other one was boring Luscious to death with BAM talk (okay, so she didn't say it quite that way, but whatever).

You know, TPTB are really blowing me away with how they are handling Erica. Besides being the best work Lucci has done in years, the whole angle they are taking with the character is awesome. For once, we don't know Erica's lines and reactions before we're shown them. We were expecting a full-on Kane hissy fit about Kendall Jr., we got a cold calmness with a creepifyin' undertow instead. We were expecting Erica to spew Kendall hate to the rafters, instead we got perhaps the best Erica/Kendall interaction ever. Erica conceded ground (that she's proud of how Kendall stepped up and protected her sister, that she recognizes that Kendall has truly changed, etc.) and this time it wasn't about stringing Kendall along or wanting Kendall to do something for her. Even though Erica is obviously deeply pissed, this has been the most honest I've seen her be and it's been the best peek into the dichotomy of Erica's mind. I've always respected Erica for the force of nature that she is, but this is the first time I've been honestly intrigued by her. I'm physically incapable of complimenting McT, so I'll just give it up that *someone* is doing something right.



Are they gonna leave Greenlee down there until she has a true epiphany? The universe has put Greens into the ultimate time-out. Heh. I think they will redeem Greens and I hope they do it half as well as they have Kendall. Somehow they have managed to show Kendall's character growth without watering a fabulous character down. She's still very Kendall, with her rampant insecurities and um, interesting thought processes, but she's grown. She still has a healthy self-interest to balance her selflessness and save her from being suddenly over-the-top saint-like. I still can't believe TIIC pulled it off. Kudos, whoever, for getting it right. Now, don't screw up what makes Greens who she is when you go and 'redeem' her.

Where do I sign up for the Kinks 12 step program? Ya'll, I need a support group...I am seeing Kinks everywhere.

Case in point, I am watching Le Divorce, pregnant Naomi Watts hugging her sister from the back and my mind did some magic and suddenly I was seeing Bianca and Kendall. Pathetic, I know. But such is the power of the sled, beware.

Personally, I give the credit to the episode writers. The headwriters changed, sure, but I believe the daily writers who worked on FEM are mostly still around. One of the best elements of FEM was how the Kane Women were being written pitch-perfect, and we're back to that again now. And I'm feeling extremely hopeful for Greenlee, the sort of honorary fourth, as well. Next Monday she vows to change her ways, so there's the epiphany.


That's why I was happy to hear Reggie and Bianca down on her today. This isn't going to be a SL where she just waves her arms and yells that she's changed and everyone embraces her and she's all good. AMC's shown with Kendall that they can have a character grow without being watered down, so I suspect that Greenlee will still remain fundamentally Greenlee as well, especially since that's needed to keep the Kane-Montgomery family dysfunctionally entertaining. Growth, yes. Vanilla heroine, no. Insta-relationships with her relatives, no. Thank goodness. Since she's still stuck in the mineshaft through next Monday for sure, I'm kind of snickering over the fact that apparently, by the time she gets out, the murderer will have been revealed and be almost old news in Pine Valley.


Yup, Erica's being fascinating these days and this is Susan's best dramatic work that I've seen. Her reactions are so beautifully complex and I have no idea how it'll shake out, especially in consideration of all the other dynamics of the Kane-Montgomerys that have been set up.

No! I want him with Joanie! *ahem* [small voice] Sorry, I had to say it. I'm better now.

Well, I'll just say that whoever cast Eden and Alicia as Erica's daughters is a genius. They really do look like they could be Susan Lucci's daughters. Thank god they are such good actors too, bringing us the yummy Kinks.

I don't want to put anyone out of a job, but I'd watch a show just about the Kane/Montgomery bunch. And since Bianca needs a girlfriend other than her sister, Lena can stay too. As much as I dig the Kinks, it's the Lianca that I'm holding out for.

Well, again, that's the brilliance of Kinks--both of them can have relationships with other people too. Thank goodness, what with both actresses having chemistry with almost anyone. It'd be a shame to limit each of them to only one love interest at a time. But this way, we can have Kinks and Lianca and Kaidan all at once (if Kendall ever wises up, that is)...


It's so funny that they look more like Susan's daughters than Susan's real daughter. The three of them just look perfect together--not only can you buy that Alicia and Eden are Susan's daughters, there's enough resemblance between Alicia and Eden to sell the half-sister angle too. Speaking of such, I went to the grocery store today to see if they had the SID Charlie's Angels issue in yet, but no luck. Damn. Best Kane Women photo ever. I'm tempted to frame it when I get it. Heh.

It's really amazing that some actors have chemistry with anyone - Eden, Alicia, Olga - and anything - Olga and the door, the gun, the box... - while others have no chemistry with anyone.

Speaking of people with no chemistry, I was reading a mag and found this blurb on Rebecca and That Guy: "Rebecca is really into him: his pictures all over her dressing room."

Just thinking of Erica wanting Bianca to gay herself up again sends me into a fit of giggles. Ok, anything that tortures Erica gives me a happy.

Yet, Bianca gives Ryan a power point presentation on the mysteries of Kendall and he didn't soak up a word of it? Maybe Ryan and Greens are meant to be. He sure seems to understand and sympathize with her better. (grumble) Bastard.

Olga works well with everyone, but I haven't noticed her throwing off sparks with anyone other than Eden (and inanimate objects). It's just as well that Bianca's the one Lena wants. It's always annoying for me when a character's trying to hook up with someone he/she has no chemistry with.


Yup, I love Eden's wicked sense of humor. Heh. Just let her write her SLs, I say. We'd get Lianca for the true love, Kinks for the evil fun, random hookups with everyone else she has chemistry with, and Erica's head blowing up from it all. Fun fun fun!

That's fine with me. Like you said, while it's cool that Bianca called Kendall out on her trust issues, it's still not an argument I want her to win because, y'know, it's Frankenbrow. Eden plays a lesbian, so that leaves Alicia and Rebecca. No, you're not the only one annoyed. I just want Ryan to leave and take one of the other annoying women with him--Mia or Naggie.

It beats fastforwarding Kendall when she's with Ryan.

DrCher, that was Chris Stamp's grave. Ryan's dad and Erica's ex-fiance. She hasn't expressed an ounce of remorse for The Ogre's passing since the week he died, so what she's doing on the grave, I have no idea.

I thought Boobe said she thinks she's having a boy? Did I misunderstand the 'covered in blue' thing? Whatever, TPTB keep trying to make me like Boobe. Hmph. Good plan, because I actually like her (briefly) when she's with Binks. Shut up! I like that Boobe isn't judgmental about Bianca's situation, the gay or the baby's parentage. Since Binks is completely ignorant of Boobe's ho-ism, it's gotta be nice to have someone neutral to help with the baby warm fuzzies. So, Erica's leaving Enchantment and all her stock to Kendall? Wow. I guess Bianca doesn't need the money. Ryan actually talked her into taking the Cambias fortune. I don't know about giving Chandler to JR, but whatever. I'm wondering if Bianca will get Ryan's crib? Didn't he say once that it was purchased with Cambias dough and offered it to Kendall when she was taking over the estate? Bianca's gonna have to do something, you can't have a kid in a studio. One of the blessings of a child on soaps is that they're supposed to disappear into another room and be sleeping all the time. Can't do that in a studio, man.

It's not as if she can refuse it: all she can do is pass on the Trustee obligation, but the Cambias fortune goes to - according to Alex's codicil in the will - the Cambias heir. Bianca can refuse the money all she wants, but it's up to Kendall Jr. to refuse to take it once s/he's of age.

If BabyCambias dies, or is assumed to be dead (switched with BabyBoobe), who gets control of the Cambias fortune? Ryan?

It depends on how the codicil was written. Generally, the trustees/administrators would decide and they might hire a CEO, but I assume Alex would have chosen a person to whom Cambias Industries would revert. I certainly would have written the codicil in such a way that a legal fight over the fortune would be next to imposssible - as would arbitrary decision-making.

But, since this is AMC...

Oh, whoops. That's what I get for halfway paying attention and only REALLY looking at the screen when SpecterKendall was on.

You know, if someone had to be stuck down a mine and suck up screen time, I'm glad it's Greens. I found myself rooting for her and her tiny, tiny muscular arms to make it out today. I'm looking forward to seeing how she plans to make amends while actively pursuing Ryan. That's gonna be a mess. Plus she cracked me up with her sorrow over having to rip her shoes apart.

Add me to the list of people confuzzled about why Erica is at Stamp's grave. Bianca was more upset when Chris kicked it than Erica was. Speaking of Binks, it was sad watching her call her mom. Hee, I thought the same. Oh, Greenlee, you are so transparent. I loved her subconscious manifesting Kendall to be all First Evil with her. I'm sure Alicia really enjoyed doing the scenes, but at the same time, poor her--even when Kendall's not in an ep, she's still in an ep, so Alicia still has to work. Anyway, I enjoyed all Greenlee's stuff today, from the shoes to her taking personal responsibility to her still being very Greenlee in her strength and determination. Go, Greenlee!

When the hell is Myrtle going to torch that sofa? It upsets her and it upsets everyone who comes to visit and has to look at it. What, is she going to wait for the one-year anniversary of Voldemort and then make Bianca come over for the torching ceremony? Gah.


The funniest thing about that was that when Bianca was trying to talk about Chris, Erica kept bringing the conversation back to Lena instead. Heh. This is just more Ryan-fluffing. Sigh. We all know Erica goes to Mona's grave when she's feeling troubled.


The interesting thing about that is that at one time, Kendall would have welcomed that no matter how it happened. And I don't think she'd object to being the favored daughter now, either. And if she's getting it because Erica admires her for protecting her family, that's one thing. If she's getting it because Bianca is on the outs for having her rapist's child, then Kendall will tell Erica to take her favored-daughter status and shove it. Her rant to Jack in the hospital made it very clear that if Erica treats Bianca badly over her decision, Kendall will be disgusted by it. Erica being upset over the lies would be one thing--Kendall would accept that--but if it gets down to her feelings about the baby, then it's a different story.

Of course, once the baby switch occurs, Erica will no doubt be "All is forgiven" and welcome Bianca back into the fold. No baby, no problem.

It's shameless Boobe fluffing, and I don't like the obvious baby switch that's coming up, but I still like her with Bianca. I even liked the "daughter-in-law" bit. It's kind of endearing how desperate Boobe is for emotional connections, and I can't blame her, what with the asshole she's married to. Plus Alexa just does a million times better in scenes with Eden. It also helps that, so far, Boobe doesn't talk with Bianca about the whole JR/Jamie mess, so I don't have to remember the shit Boobe's done that makes me annoyed with her.

Please, Edmund, die.

This being a soap, I'd expect the fortune to go back to Ryan, if it's determined that the "BabyCambias" died before birth. If the baby died after birth, then the estate would go to his/her next of kin, Bianca.

So, that brings up another interesting point. If Bianca can't officially hand back Enchantment to Erica before the supposed stillborn death of Bling Bling--too busy being in the hospital, the trial, Erica avoiding her, and so on--then Enchantment goes to Ryan. And if he is a little too busy to get around to officially giving it back to Erica, when the baby switch is revealed, Enchantment goes back to Bianca. And gee, I don't think Bianca's going to be feeling like giving her baby-stealing mother her company back...

That reminds me, Frankenbrow said one intelligent thing today (gasp!). I noticed he mentioned to Bianca that she could return Fusion to Kendall. Didn't even try to suggest returning 50% ownership back to Greenlee. Smart. Too bad he didn't figure out the same lesson last week with Kendall that he shouldn't be trying to defend Greenlee to her.

Not necessarily: most of those who bother with a codicil like Alex's do not leave the estate in the hands of biology. It doesn't matter because this is AMC and all that, but I'd expect the codicil would spell out the other options should the heir die before a certain age or in case the default trustee - let's say it's Bianca - refuses to deal with the inheritance.

I'm back to liking Greenlee: that's right, I'm consistent and not fickle.
I still want Ryan to die.
I still say Bianca redeems Babe on her back. Heh heh.
