On another note- Elizabeth Hendrickson cannot act her way out of a wet paper bag. (She can sing though. Really really well.) I'd be down for Baggie and the condition is a recast, because that little midget, unlike Eden, Alicia, Lucci, Olga, Walt, and Rebecca, cannot rise above the crappy material. She adds nothing. Nothing.

Most of the actors on this show can make more of their crap than it is on the pages they get. Liz only makes it less than it is. Less than crap. All FF. I just don't want to see that happen to the only lesbian storyline in daytime. Dude, she's the female version of Max Alex/Carlos. They keep fluffing her. It won't help, I'm telling ya.

So, if I'm understanding you correctly, Skiffy, you're not a EH fan? Heh. You know, I think that she seems intimidated by the other actors around her--mostly Eden and Olga. EH, in looks and acting style, would fit in perfectly in the cast of a teen, angsty drama on the WB. What I would love, is if she and Joie Lenz could switch roles--Liz goes to One Tree Hill, Joie comes to AMC as Maggie. . .*sigh*

BWAH, onewomanshow. I bow down to the goddess; I say that you should get the privilege of driving the KinkSled this week. I particularly loved the stanza about how Kinks can do anything they want because they have the perfect cover. SO true. (SkiffyPup, I know with your hilarious mind you'll be driving the sled every other week for sure.)


Love it. Love it. Ah, Kinks.

I do think that Liz H can act, but that she hasn't put in any effort since, hmmmm, when Agnes was obviously scripting BAM with a view to them ending up together, back around Edmund and Brooke's wedding. The writing was pitch-perfect and Liz responded with some nice subtle work. She also did well as Frankie, but Frankie was this amusing messed-up spitfire, so it was easy. Like Mystic0 says, Liz seems to be one of those actresses, much like Amelia, who can't inject any energy beyond what's in the script--the perfect counterexample being Terri Ivens.

I also don't get the sense that AMC is fluffing Naggie. I still don't see this as a true triangle or as having any sign of becoming one. Naggie's being shown as a selfish shrew. If anything, for all that Lena barely gets any screentime, she's really the one being fluffed as the perfect girlfriend for Bianca (though it's not fluffing when it's only true, heh).

I think something like the Itsy Bitsy Spider scene is very indicative. In a true triangle, one where the show wants to set up the Naggie role as at the very least a viable and rootable option, the way the scene would've gone down is like this: Naggie and Lena entering, Naggie being really sweet with something for Bianca, like flowers or whatever, and Bianca then ignoring Naggie and her gift completely in favor of Lena, who's maybe not being quite as nice. Then cut to Naggie looking wistful (as opposed to annoyed). That way, you get the reaction of "aw, poor Naggie, when will Bianca wise up and see what's right in front of her?", of rooting for the underdog. Instead, Lena was totally sweet while Naggie was self-absorbed and grumpy, and so Bianca looked like she was focusing her attention on the right woman.

I need to rewatch that clinic scene soon. It's funny, because while I caught the SisYay in that scene, and while I wasn't grossed out like kariyaki originally was, I was actually doing my best to ignore the SisYay. I thought it'd interfere in the bonding I was finally getting between Kendall and Bianca. Silly me. Alicia's bedroom eyes in the early episodes of Kendall finding out that Bianca was still pregnant started winning me over, then the boathouse ep, together with the Kinks reunion at David's cabin, came along and sold me completely. Kinks was just too damn appealing. Could. Not. Resist.

Re: The boathouse of sisyay- The best sisyay there was Binkslee nailbreak and thumbshag of tenderness from Greenlee complete with romantic low voices, bedroom eyes, and gentle handholds. Sigh. I loved that scene. It's my favorite scene on AMC all year.

Heh. I liked the scene, and Eden and Rebecca turned in lovely performances, but it's nowhere near my favorite. I think it has a lot to do with my preference for Bianca and Greenlee as antagonists who occasionally have a softer moment when they remember Leo loved them both. That contrast makes it more affecting when they do make nice, such as when they hugged at Leo's funeral.

I can't really pick among my favorites from last year. But up there for me would have to be the scene where Lena tells Bianca she loves her, the courtroom pan shot of everyone glaring at Mikey, the Kane-Montgomerys' Thanksgiving prayer, and Kinks at the boathouse. What did everyone else like from last year?

Topic? The other day I was watching the show with my roommate who had never seen it before and I told her they were maybe trying to do a triangle with Bianca at the center. She said she saw how Bianca was affectionate with both of them. Then she asked who the girl in the ugly blue cape was, and I realized that she thought the triangle was with Lena and Kendall. Heh. Kinks has an open relationship, though. What I really want to hear them discuss is Kendall's belief that Bianca would buy husbands for her. Hee. They are indeed such a bizarre sister act, like Erica commented. "Most sisters share clothes, but you two..." Heh. Amniotic fluid, blood, procuring love interests for each other (that's why Kendall hired Lena, hee)...That reminds me, I also liked when Kendall was telling Erica that she and Bianca had just been trying not to drown and Erica said they'd actually done very well. I liked how she said that, with the smirk on her face--she's totally pissed, of course, but I think there's also an undercurrent of respect there for their scheming. Erica takes great pride in being a schemer herself, after all.

And that's one reason why I love this Charlie Angel's cover of the Kane Women so very much. Bwah. Props to Eden for coming up with the idea--it rocks. The way the switch went down was--Mick's choking Rebecca's Michelle, fade to black, and then the very next day, fade in, he's choking Joie's. Hee.

Although, Joie took the character in an entirely different direction, which is why she has my undying love and respect. I mean, on day one, this seventeen-year-old kid was walking through the set like she owned the joint, completely retconning her character's personality. Oh, she kicked ass. . .

Well. Bam must be creaming their jeans this weekend., What with for-profit brokerage club bam, Eden posting on bam, charity lunch bam, and Olga's contract status not sounding very hot. It's a great weekend to be a bammer. Too bad Liz still can't act. They should spend their cash on that.

I wish there were Kinks fotos of that lunch with the bammers fotoshopped out. And lawd... they talked about the show the whole time? And never brought up Kinks? What a travesty of humorless justice!

On a more serious note, it makes me wonder yet again which episodes Alicia is going to submit. I hope to goodness she doesn't submit anything with Cam Math. Stick with the work that you did with Eden and Susan, Alicia--but not anything where Susan's scenery-chewing.

Even better, someone needs to eliminate that fan from the kissing picture and squeeze it together so it looks like they're kissing each other. Man, I'd do it but I don't have Photoshop. Anyone who has that program willing to volunteer?

I don't have Photoshop, but I do have some crude photo editing software. I gave into temptation (sleep? who needs sleep?) and managed an amateurish image edit. But I don't have anywhere to put it up--could I e-mail it to you, kariyaki?

I cannot believe that that person had Luscious all to herself and all she could seem to talk about was Maggie. Seriously, WTF? Not only does Alicia not play Maggie, but the character she does play very rarely even interacts with her. It just seemed odd to me. (And I won't even get started on the "dissertations" she whipped out. The hell?)

And, yes, I definitely should stop now. It truly is tragic that a TWoPper wasn't there. If they ever do this again, we definitely need to make make sure one of us is there! We could pool funds and then send along whoever's driving the sled that week.

I feel sorriest for Alicia because it had to be apparent to her that they didn't shell out the moola to be with her, and she so doesn't deserve that, being Luscious and all. I started watching in 1984 so I missed the original run of Liza. Wow, was Tad ever cold to her...I can see why she got all bent out of shape with him. Loved seeing Greg and Enid Nelson. Loved seeing Jenny and Original recipie Opal.

The "singing" that Donna was doing at the Chateau was HILARIOUS!

Chuck was kinda hot....hmmmm...I know he ended up being a big fat bore.

Erica was kinda scary and wonderful back then.....things have not changed.

Great to see a real debate between Mike Roy and Brooke over the merrits of a word processor and a typewriter....laugh out loud funny.

Myrtle was great.....what was that casarole they were eating....it was so gloppy looking.

I did not need to see the episodes from 1996 with Liza. I wanted to see some of gay Michael....but got pixie dixie. The episodes they showed were the filler episodes between when Tad actually slept with Liza and when Dixie found out about the whole thing.

I did not need to see Noah ever again.

AND I can add Chuck and Donna's baby to the many many kids that AMC has killed over the years.

You know, I think the "best" part was when they actually talked about Kendall for five seconds, but only so that they could draw a parallel to Maggie. Because of all the people in Pine Valley, Kendall's most similar to Maggie. Right. Just daring to juxtapose those two characters seems so wrong to me. Gah.

I'm still fuming about the lunch, so I'll WORD! BK and get even fussier about it all.

You know what else pisses me off? Hypocrisy. It's all about Eden, except for when it's all about Liz - which is all the damn time. Not that it should be AAE, either, because I have issues with her, too.
