I often wonder if my AMC-watching, given that one of my primary enjoyments has always been seeing Erica lose her shit, is really some sort of waiting game to see whose head explodes first, mine or Erica's. Hee. That's why the Kane Power x2 is a bit alarming. Yes, as Mystic0 pointed out a while ago, a threesome would either kill the third person and make him/her an official slave for life, but I also can't imagine the self-reinforcing cycle of Kinks in bed on their own. No wonder they get increasingly lusty around each other.


Word. It could be argued that Kinks did this to themselves, but I really don't care about the fact that Kinks lied to Erica about the pregnancy and non-pregnancy. Erica's entire behavior throughout has shown that she's completely unreasonable on this subject. I see no reason to believe that things would have been any better if they'd told her the truth. Erica would've blamed Kendall for influencing Bianca, and driven Bianca crazy with continued pressure to abort, and hurt Kendall with her arguments in favor of abortion, and just generally made everything all about herself. It'd still be the same inexcusable hurtful behavior.

The one shred of hope that Bianca has at this point is that Erica has just enough pragmatism to realize that it is too late for Bianca to abort now and so maybe Erica shouldn't be such a complete shrew. And perhaps Erica realizing that so many people kept this from her will lead her to an epiphany that her behavior is scary lunatic shit and that if she wants people to confide in her, she needs to give them a reason to believe she can be rational. And yeah, I'm not holding my breath waiting for this epiphany.

Word to all the Erica hatred. What a total bitch. I really wanted to leap through the TV and choke her today. Kendall covers her up with a blanket and then she says Kendall was standing over her looking hateful. Bitch. Die. I hate her. Yay for Bianca defending Kendall, and not even on the Kinks level. Fred saying Mia's voice was scaring him was pretty funny. Mia is just so incredibly stupid. I don't know if all the Erica crap had pissed me off to the boiling point, but Mia calling Fred's name over and over when it was obvious he was gone just irritated the hell out of me. I needed a drink or nine today.

This is random, but did anyone else think Bianca's phone was gigantic? It seemed just monstrously huge. I was amusing myself wondering if it was a special and powerful Kinks phone. Only used for Kinks emergencies like when they need some Sis Loving immediately, or when their mom tries to stab them.

So the Kinks trouble was my roommate was walking through when Bianca was defending Kendall and I tagged a "Because we're lovers!" at the end of it, and so my roommate was all, "I thought they were sisters!" Whoops. So I said I was just kidding, and it was bad. I can't explain Kinks, and she doesn't watch the show to see the pervy goodness. I was surprised she even knew they were sisters. No one can know my obsession except you guys. My friends just won't understand.

Daytime prenoms are out, apparently--they were posted over on the GH thread. (This is the round where the cast of each show votes two of their own in each category.) My biggest worry was Alicia, since often in the supporting actress category the cast seems to like saving one slot for Rebecca and then one slot for one of the backburnered vets, such as Marcy Walker. But it's okay, Alicia and Rebecca got the prenoms for best supporting. (Though personally I think Alicia should've been submitted in lead, but I realize politics dictated otherwise.) Susan and Finola are in for best actress. Of course Eden made the cut for best younger, and when I was boggling over Alexa Havens being her co-prenominee, I realized that actually AMC doesn't have any younger actresses that don't look like a complete joke next to Eden, except maybe Amanda Seyfried. The only other options were Liz and the girl who played Borie. Hee, the BAMmers must be going nuts over Liz not getting the other slot.

I would have much rather had Amanda make the cut than Alexa. She's WAY more talented. But whatever, it's not like Alexa is going to make the final rounds anyway, not with Eden against her.

But whee! Alicia made it this year! You GO girl!

Yeah, the cool thing about today's ep is that it illustrated that Erica *is* going to have to change. Well, she'll have to if she wants a continued relationship with Bianca at all. Binky drew a major line in the sand with Erica today, i.e., don't fuck with Kendall. And, boy, it's pissing Erica off! When Bianca first got to the condo, she immediately started asking Kendall what happened (instead of fawning all over Erica) and that drove Erica completely bugshit. Hee! If Binky's digging her heels in this deep with Erica about laying off Kendall, can you imagine how it will be regarding little Kendall? Erica will have both Binks and Kendall watching her like a hawk, guarding against any misstep with the baby, and both will not hesitate to stomp Erica's ass if she gets out of line about the baby (considering that Kinks is hyper-aware of the kid not being stigmatized about its conception circumstances). Erica better watch out or we might get that Kinks smackdown of Erica yet! (evil cackle)

This whole ep (pointedly ignoring anything Greens/Ryan/Mia/Rev. Crazypants related) was kinda sad really. The Binks/Erica scenes were sad (from Binks POV anyway. David's huggage of Binks almost got me all misty. You rock, David!) Kendall being pushed out of her own house and having to look in at her family through the window was sad. Hell, Aidan even made me sad when he saw his chances with Kendall go up in flames at seeing her engagement ring. He looked all purty and sad :( Yeah, man, sad ep. Kendall calling Binks and Bianca being able to tell Kendall was upset, just by her voice, perked me up. They're such a couple. Sigh...

I hope Fred takes Mia with him when the Mothership lands.

Waitaminute, waitaminute...Cameron Mathison gets AMC's prenom Emmy for Best Supporting Actor over MEK or Walt Willey????

I went to the GH thread and looked at that pre-nom list. The competition in all the actress categories are usually pretty stiff but that Younger Actress category this year? Looks brutal. You'd think Eden would be a shoe-in but B&B's Jennifer Finnegan has won two years in a row, so she's a perrenial fave. GL's Aubrey Dollar has that my-boyfriend-is-a-serial-killer storyline to submit. ATWT's Jessica Dunphy had the arson stuff at the beginning of the year, my-mom-married-a-serial-killer at mid-year (serial killers are big this year, apparently) and the unplanned teen pregnancy stuff to finish it off. GL's Crystal Hunt is considerably more green than the others but she does crazy very well so if she submits that stuff, she's got a shot. None of the other actresses seem like a threat.

Man, Eden's got her work cut out for her. I'm torn too, because I'd really like Jessica Dunphy to win as well. I don't suppose there could be a tie?

Ooo, and after the Mothership takes off, Liza can shove Mia out one of the ship's window! Falling 10,000 feet ought to kill her.


Eden and the other prenoms from the other shows. It's a strong category this year. I figure what happened over on AMC, actually, is that everyone voted for Eden and then the show TPTB, not wanting to submit just one person, chose to cast a vote to help boost Alexa. I mean, it's not often that you get such a clear-cut category in terms of one show's cast. I mean, you can make plenty of valid arguments about whether Alicia or Rebecca was the best supporting actress on AMC, whether David Canary or Vincent Irizarry was the best actor, whether Wil deVry or someone else was the best supporting actor (the CamMath prenom in that category? BULLSHIT!)...but in best younger actress on AMC, the choices were Eden, Amanda, Liz, Alexa, and whatsername Borie. Not even close.

That said, Supporting Actress and Best Younger both look brutal. Alicia in particular is going to have to be very careful which eps she submits for contention. I'd pick the ep in which Kendall goes to Erica's penthouse after having nearly been raped, and the clinic ep with Bianca. They're beautiful examples of Alicia's depth and will be a break from the non-stop crying/screaming most of the other prenoms are sure to submit.

I totally was thinking the same thing!! My mind immediatly went to saved by the bell and Zack Morris' extremely large 80's phone. Wow for this to be the killer reveal week todays episode was just a let down. i'm expecting drama and all we get it a bunch of filler.

I vaguely remember back last spring when this board was actually sort of keeping track of characters' cell phones, and it was immediately obvious that they all tended to sport different ones in every ep. Bianca's would be black one day and silver the next. Conclusion was that there's just a bin in props and the cells get grabbed at random each day.

And yes, there can be ties, kariyaki, though naturally they're rare. I vaguely recall a tie a couple of years ago. But it's probably not likely to happen again now that the blue-ribbon panels, with its much smaller number of voters, have been gotten rid of entirely. It's one round of prenom tapes sent out to the daytime community at large to determine the final five, and then another round of tapes sent out to them to determine the winner. This setup really favors the Usual Suspects and those who have gotten the most ink throughout the year, since not everyone has the time or inclination to watch the tapes.

It's obvious that Erica attended the Joan Crawford School For Mothers, but let's not cut Bianca any slack here: she's been lying for months for a whole series of pathetic reasons and still, after all the Erica hate toward Kendall, can't bring herself to tell the truth already.

Erica's inability to talk about the possibility that Bianca might be carrying Asshat's child is not a good barometer of how she'd react to the truth, not after all these months, not after believing that Kendall had sex with Michael after she knew he had raped her sister. In her shoes and with those "facts" in hand, I'd be hard-pressed to love my own daugheter, too.

Nope, I put most of the blame on Bianca - who needs to grow the fuck up, take charge of her life and learn to support her own damn decisions instead of waiting for everyone to cover, duck and lie for her.

All My Children alum Richard Shoberg (Tom Cudahy) will reprise his long-time, Emmy nominated role in March.

Shoberg, who played Tom Cudahy from 1977 through 1996, hasn't been seen on-screen in several years. When last spotted, Tom, wife Livia Frye Cudahy and adopted son Jamal were moving away from Pine Valley.

As AMC viewers know, however, Livia Frye returned late last year - with the Cudahy dropped from the end of her name. When actress Tonya Pinkins reprised the role of Livia, she said that she had not been told by show execs why her character had resorted to her maiden name.

Shoberg's return is slated for a day after the show reintroduces Danielle Frye back into the canvas. It is assumed that Tom's return will tie into Danielle's return and Livia's eventual exit.

Shoberg was nominated for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Drama Series category in 1982.

The return of Shoberg's Tom Cudahy is scheduled for March 10th and 11th.

Well, more than anything, Bianca needs to cut Erica out of her life for good. But that'll never happen. So she's left doing this constant dance between not wanting to hurt her mother and living the life she wants. But I agree with Mystic0 that this baby may well be the catalyst for real change. Bianca will put up with a lot from Erica, but neither she nor Kendall will put up with Grandma Kane being hateful to the Binkette.

I still have absolutely no reason to believe Erica's reaction would have been good or rational had Bianca told her the truth months ago. She refused to hear any other possibilities when Bianca was trying to discuss with her what to do about the pregnancy and made the entire thing a referendum on her own decision about Kendall. She pushed Bianca to abort. And she bitched Maria out when Maria stopped by the day Bianca went to the clinic for the abortion, blaming her for any hesitation Bianca had--so I can only imagine how she would've bitched Kendall out if Bianca had come home and explained to Erica that Kendall was a huge part of why Bianca had changed her mind.

Normally I agree that telling the truth is best, yadda yadda yadda, but Erica is not a mature or rational person. She is in a world all her own. Remember when Bianca told Erica she was gay, for instance? Erica took her to a shrink for deprogramming and was just generally a whiny MeMeMeMe bitch for months on end.

If Erica wants people to treat her as an mature adult, she's got to stop acting like an immature child when people DO tell her things, and start accepting their decisions. Otherwise eventually they will stop telling her things and treat her like the child she is. The courtroom hearing where Bianca was testifying and Erica was the one who flipped the fuck out and then fainted, and Bianca went to take care of her? All too typical. Every time Bianca makes a decision and informs Erica, she has to argue with her mother about it, and then Erica usually disregards it anyway and does an end run around Bianca. Case in point, trying to get Lena deported. Erica's a hopeless whack job, and the best Bianca could do is cut her mother out altogether.

I'll criticize Bianca more harshly than I do for not telling Erica about the baby the day Erica proves that she can accept a decision of her daughter's about anything without arguing, making it all about herself, or scheming to circumvent it. It's fine to say that Bianca should stand up for herself, and she should, but it's never been something that's worked with Erica. Mature tactics don't work on self-absorbed narcissists like Erica.

I don't remember when Bianca told Erica she was gay 'cause I didn't start watching until the Lianca kiss...

In general, I agree that Erica would not have reacted rationally, far from it: I'm just saying that things might be worse now than they would have been had Bianca not kept on lying about this and allowed Kendall to be abused in the process. Spoiler say that Erica will be royally pissed once she realizes everyone, Jack and David included, knew the truth and kept it from her so, from that point of view alone, Bianca has made a hell of a lot of things worse.

I also agree that Erica makes everything about herself and acts like an immature, psychotic brat when people do tell her the truth, but I don't belive that gives Bianca or anyone else a good reason to avoid telling her whatevercakes is on the menu that day. That's just too easy. "Oh, she can't take it, so I'll say nothing and lie instead." No, that's just crap -and this is a soap, so I realize I should not be applying real world standards, but I want to anyway. It's easy to blame it all on Erica because she can be such a crappy mother/lover/friend etc., but Bianca is not unblemished here - and that's my point: there is enough blame to go around.

Couldn't agree more. I made the mistake of watching in real time. If I had been able to FF I would have gone through the whole hour without stopping once. Horrible, horrible drek. Usually I blame myself for wasting an hour of my life. Today was so bad I am considering sending a bill for said hour to McTrash. How she keeps her job is beyond me. Even the federal government is not as forgiving an employer for such job performance.

I could agree with that if we were talking about anyone other than Erica. Like the immature, psychotic brat label would apply quite aptly to, say, Greenlee, right? But Greenlee probably wouldn't be so deeply unstable as to trip her ass off and stab people because a hypothetical convo set off one of her many mental trip-wires. I'd hold Binks more accountable if she were making decisions with a clean, logical slate but she isn't. Erica has fucked up both her daughters in a fun variety of ways. Neither daughter can make calm, rational decisions regarding their schizo mother. Bianca, in particular, has had to parent her own mother and (wrongly) always had to bear the responsibility of Erica's mental health. I see where your argument is coming from but I just don't know how well it serves the characters involved and their actions historically.

If Erica is this unhinged over Kendall, who I believe Erica truly despises on some level, having Mikey's baby, I see Bianca's POV that having her most favored child having it would spiral Erica completely out of reality. Binks feels responsible for Erica's fragile sanity because Erica has made damn sure Bianca does. You just don't snap out of or get over 19 years of training. Erica is the devil mother, man.

Mia just bugs the shit of me. Can she be more of an idiot? I could almost forgive her for her stupidity in letting the reverend escape but then to delibrately not tell Aidan about it? Does she hate Kendall that much that she would want Kendall to be convicted? I wanted to reach into the TV and slap the girl until her teeth fell out of her head.

Does Greenlee even listen to herself? I really could have done with out Frankenbrow and Greenlee today. It just grated my nerves.

I love how fast Bianca got to Kendall's condo, she managed to snag David and get there in record time. I also laughed when Bianca said "Kendall's baby" to David. Was that a mental slip? LOL. Lena and the Magster better watch out.

Yeah, except that you're not considering (I think) the fact that Erica believes Kendall chose to sleep with Michael after he raped Bianca - and for material gain. We know it's not true, but Erica doesn't.

I'm not making excuses for her and I think just about every AGR recap takes her to task for any number of things, but Erica believes what she does about this baby and is reacting as she is at least in part because she's working under the assumption that Kendall was venal enough to choose to sleep with Michael to get his money.

Bianca may be right in thinking that Erica would, as you say, "spiral completely out of reality," but that reaction cannot be taken out of its proper context. It would be like saying Lena slept with Michael and went after the formula because she was a whoring thief and completely disregard the fact that she did so under duress, that she was protecting her mother and all that other stuff.

Erica is always a selfish brat, but even she operates inside context, historical actions or not.

Hee! We'll never agree on this, friend o' mine, because Erica has had more than enough evidence to show that that isn't the case at all. Kendall and Erica have had enough talks for anyone with a brain to know that simply isn't true. Not even mentioning the fact that Erica knows that Bianca (and Jack) supports Kendall and would never do that if Kendall had done what Erica chooses to believe she did. Erica, much like the Fusion Trolls, believes the worst of Kendall because they *want* to. Am I completely horrible if I disregard the whole duress bit? I hated that rewrite with a blinding passion and really, really liked Lena, the Amoral Shark better than Lena, Victim of Circumstance. Yes, I'm a foul, morally bankrupt person who likes reformed con stories better than anything.

A big ol' Word on Erica being the suckiest mother that ever sucked (heh), but, I can get but so upset because I am convinced that Bianca is fully capable of cutting Erica out of her life completely and just might, really soon. When Bianca defended Kendall today, I think she did it on reflex, and in that moment was more concerned about her fear that Erica may have murdered the Asshat than about anything else. Which is why she backed down so quickly and put on the Hurt!Binky face (Awww. Who else was hoping she'd go outside and look for Kendall?). But, once the murder is solved and/or Kendall is aquitted and that is all behind them, I believe that if/when Erica comes on with all that "Kendall is garbage, no one loves you but me, listen to me, look at me, it's all about mememe" bullshitcakes, Binky ain't gonna be having it. Bianca's relationship with Kendall and her pregnancy have changed her in a lot of ways, and her dependency (or co-dependency is more like it) on a relationship with Erica is not what it used to be. It's still there, mind you, but Bianca is in a better place than ever before to tell her mother to shape up or ship the fuck out. And I firmly believe that should Bianca ever have reason to feel that Erica is a threat to her family--and when I say "family" I mean her wif. . .sister, Kendall and little Kendall Jr., well then it'll be goodbye Erica.

I feel that Bianca's line to Jackson about having to accuse her mother of murder to protect her sister just proves my point. Bianca would send her own mother up the river to protect her lov. . .er, sister! That Binky sure knows how to love a woman. Oh, I damn-near swooned.

In fact, Bianca only told Maggie she was raped because she blurted something out after getting drunk; the news of the pregnancy came out after she almost fell off the roof and, again, Maggie was told about the non-abortion after she found Bianca's prenatal vitamins. Of course Bianca had her reasons not to tell, it's her business and all that, but she has made some awful decisions and most of them were not the result of Erica panic. And now I'm done with this topic, I swear. *L*

Actually, no, it wasn't. It was a very late recon, even later than the whole "I fell in love the moment I met you" recon. Early Lena was shown as quite amoral, gleeful in her scheming and in her bedding down with Michael behind Kendall's back, and all indications were that she was interested in Bianca originally as a kind of side amusement.

I'm not going to get into Erica too much further except to say that I knew an Erica IRL and she turned everyone around her, no matter how mature and honest people they generally were, into liars. Then the smart liars walked out. Eventually the dumb liars walked out too. She's pretty much all alone now. And it's not like she wasn't warned about what was going to happen if she continued her ways, but she reacted the same way Erica does to it. I agree that Bianca shares some blame, certainly, but with someone as extreme as Erica, the fault lies mostly in the fact that she hasn't cut her mother out of her life completely. Some people are beyond saving.

Bianca does at least show an awareness that she needs to establish certain boundaries--i.e. not living with her mother, but she needs to go further (though I agree with onewomanshow and Mystic0 that the two Kendalls may be exactly the impetus needed). Bianca does have a tendency for co-dependency that manifests itself not just with her mother, but in her choice of love interests. Every last one of them from Sarah to Lena has been a psychological screwup starved for love. It's kinda ironic because I'm sure Bianca thought she was getting someone very confident and stable in Lena, since Lena looked that way on the surface, but that instinctive radar of Binky's is just too good. Snerk.


Yeah, Bianca made that clear back when Kendall was arrested and she went to confront Erica and David about their lies. She made them swear then that they wouldn't allow Kendall to go to jail for something that they did. She'd never send Erica up the river if Erica were innocent, but if Erica were guilty, then yes, she would, to save Kendall. If it were someone else on trial, I think Bianca would still ultimately do the right thing, but she might wait for a verdict first, depending on who it was. But Kendall? Nope, Bianca doesn't want to take any risks. If Erica had confessed to her back at Thanksgiving Bianca would've been driving her down to the police station immediately.

Yeah, I sort of blow off the "My mom was in peril, so I had to do it" excuse too. I liked amoral Lena. I'm fine with her being a whoring thief who was redeemed by the magical power of hot girl-on-girl loving.

I also can't hate on Erica so much, because her anger is like my anger at this whole "Bianca wants her baby" storyline. Just...awful awful awful. Incomprehensible. And it makes me crazy.

I agree w/CK. Bianca does know the Erica apeshit consequences are enormous. But now David/Jack/Kendall/Maggie/Lena are all on the list for Erica vengance because they knew before her. Once she decided not to leave town and keep the baby parentage secret 4evah, she should've done as Lena advised and told Erica immediately instead of pre-reaction fishing. She only made it worse for everyone, including Erica herself. Bad Binks. Bad bad bad and more harmful than the truth.

What is with all the laughable dialogue? The other day I heard, "I tried to prove she had no burger in her oven, and I end up with a pie in my face" from Greenlee, and "I'm onto you, Mr. Superspy" from Mia. Wha? Just reading that shit makes my head hurt.

I'm with kariyaki in dimishing respect for Aiden with regards to Mia. Kick her to the curb!
