I've often wondered about the lack of wedding pictures. I know that the whole faux wedding took place on short notice, but if Kendall took the time to make a fake video of Michael, why not fake a few wedding photos while she was at it? I think it would have been much easier to fake pictures than to create a fake video stream. Unless they are saving it for some dramatic!moment during Kendall's trial that she did indeed find a lookalike.

I have some suggestions. Hell, even Alicia could help her out.

One of the benefits of Kinks is that you don't have to worry about network censors calling "bad touch, bad touch" in the way that they do with Lianca. Kinks is fun because (so far) it's under the radar, so to speak. I pray that the sled doesn't have a double booking policy like airlines, otherwise I'm screwed, the sled is full and we should christen the H.M.S. Kinks.

Getting back to the count on how many times Bianca has said she loves Lena...Remember the remark to Maggie when Maggie was complimenting Lena after a visit to Binks and Mags apartment? Binks asked Maggie if she loved Lena too. Does that count?

And I'm glad Lena is getting snarky with Magpie. And again, Maggie had a gun. When is the spotlight going to turn on her.

Our "two love declarations" count refers to the times Bianca has said she loves Lena while Lena was present and could hear it: it's not a cumulative count.

Which is something about Lena I'm curious about. I can't decide if Lena just likes to avoid confrontation when possible or if this just stems from her romanticism. You know, all issues are secondary and unimportant compared to true wuv, love fixes everything, ect. I've always had trouble pegging exactly how Lena sees their relationship. I mean, I never get if she sees the reality of it or not. This being her first Big!Love kinda leaves the poor girl somewhat romantically retarded. Like when Binks was giving Lena the "We really don't even know each other" speech (parts 1&2), Lena didn't see the importance of that at all because they're in love, so what else matters? It's frightening that Bianca seems to be the realist. I'd wager that by now Lena has learned some of the harsher realities of being in love (Especially being in love with someone who was born with a 'Kick Me!' sign around her neck) but there's still that undercurrent of if she and Binks do finally officially get back together everything will be ggggggreat! Her single-mindedness is so damn cute but it makes me worry for her. You can't have your whole identity wrapped up in one person, no matter how in love you are.
Which is why I love Lianca, pick a neurosis and Lianca has it. Crazy kids...

See, I have always assumed that she married a Michael lookalike because if you remember back (and I know we are all trying to block this stuff out), but Ryan had just come to town. Edmond was the only one who knew that he was there, and they were in Ryan's office and got a video phone call from Michael announcing his marriage and that Kendall controlled everything. Now, if the timeline is correct, Michael would have already been dead, and he would not have recorded that message before he died. So, I assumed Kendall married a look alike and then had him send the message to Edmond. Of course, I am sure McTrash will just conveniently forget it if it does not fit in her plot any more, but it did happen.

Oh, yeah! I had forgotten about the video: good catch, Dabney.

That video was all static-y and edited to hell and back, though, which is how Ryan and Edmund were able to immediately decide that it could well be a total fake. If Kendall was just having a Michael lookalike record it, she wouldn't have needed to do that.

Hmmm, OTOH, it'd be interesting if Kendall had gone over to Michael's condo that night with the specific idea of murdering him, hiding the body, and then claiming that she'd married him in Vegas and that he's on the run now. She could've held a gun on him and forced him to record that speech. Then he gets the upper hand on her, things spiral out of control...I've always figured that Bianca showed up in the middle of murder attempt #4, just in time to find her sister in deep shit.


I think it's a combination of both, Mystic0. First of all, Lena's a manipulator and she knows that it is generally more effective to use honey than vinegar. It takes a lot to get her to be outright hostile and confrontational with anyone. Second, she's generally a closed-off and private person, though she's made a real effort to change that in certain ways with Bianca (though she generally sticks to the happy stuff there, which is certainly a lot easier to be open about--telling Bianca what kind of chocolate she likes? Easy. Telling Bianca something about her past with Michael? Not so easy.). Third, yeah, I do think she likes keeping her relationship with Bianca as on-the-clouds and romantic as possible. As you said, this is Lena's first true relationship and she's still learning. She has a lot of trouble dealing with the nastier stuff where Bianca is concerned--her instincts are generally to deny it, bury it, or run. It's not really surprising that Bianca's generally been the realist all along, since she had several disastrous relationships under her belt already. Lena has learned a lot, especially when Bianca broke up with her the first time and taught her some unpleasant lessons about how Lena can't just charm her way out of everything or gloss over her actions, but she's got a ways to go.

I agree her view of the future is a little too rosy. For one thing, as much as Maggie came off as immature and jealous and bitchy and having an ulterior motive in her advice, the points she raised about Bianca telling Erica were absolutely valid, and it was Lena who was being a little unrealistic. Yes, Lena's advice was mature (not that she doesn't have an ulterior motive or anything, either), but Erica's not a mature person and Maggie hit the nail on the head when she said that Erica would end up making it all about herself and Bianca would end up putting aside everything of her own to take care of Erica once again.

Which reminds me, Jan. 30, Erica stands poised to make a deadly mistake. Ideas? From the other spoilers for the week, it's obviously linked to the fallout from Erica learning about the Kinks lovechild, but I'm not sure exactly what her mistake is supposed to be. Maybe she torpedoes Kendall's defense, not realizing that it will mean Bianca will have to step forward to save her sister?

I forgot to mention in my thoughts on watching yesterday's ep--seeing Erica still flinching at the thunder made me roll my eyes, but then I was relieved to see Bianca wasn't having any negative reactions. One Kane woman freaking out every time there's a storm is quite enough, thank you.

...Mimi's new column at Soapnet is up and, on Page 2, she rants about Lianca, the kiss, Olga not having a picture in the family album, etc. etc.

I always figured that Olga's picture was taken out of the opening because someone at AMC/ABC realized when updating the opening sequence that she doesn't have a long-term contract. That said, since the shot was already in there, it would've been classier for the pencil-pusher to just leave it alone.

I don't know what the deal with the picture is, but I do know that other actors signed to short-term contracts are featured in the album. The execs have been asked about it: if Olga's contract were the reason for the snafoo, you'd think they'd have said so. Instead, they keep on saying that the albums are "on rotation." After six months, you'd think they would rotate back to Olga and get Carlos off.

ETA: Oh, look: another clue. *rme* From JC5 at the SS: over at the Chandler mansion...Mary will snoop around and discover a gun with the initials "MC" on it...she will point the finger of blame at Adam...why is Michael's gun at the Chandler estate?

They are in need of updating again, though. Carloser's gone, Krystal needs adding. If they pull the same thing they did last year and I'm stuck looking at Carloser's mug for eight months like I had to Frank, I'm going to hurt something.

Beth at SON mentioned in one of her posts that the guy who plays JR was originally signed to a 6-months contract. I'm sure that has changed, but his stupid face has been in the album since he first blundered onto my screen.

Maybe Beth was wrong? In any case, that rotating album crap is just that: crap.

Jacob Young supposedly has a six-month contract, though perhaps it's really a long-term contract with an out at six months if he wants to take it, or something.

Anyway, word on getting rid of Carloser as soon as possible. I'd like to see some of the shots updated, too, while they're at it. Reggie looks like a 12-year-old in his shot, and Greenlee, Bianca and Liza have all changed their hair length significantly.

As far as the rotating album goes, it sounds to me like maybe the exec got confused, since AMC has two opening credit sequences that rotate in turn, and thought that's what the question was about. I don't think the execs concern themselves much with the opening sequences and who's in which one.

Is the prosecutor the guy that narrates the Court TV forensics shows? That voice is eerily familiar.

Yeah, I think Jacob's contract is a long-term one with an out-clause.

Anna Stuart doesn't even have a short-term contract, she's technically recurring. I agree she should be in the album, meaning they should sign her to a regular contract.

I noticed something--Kendall didn't seem to quite grasp one of the implications of what Bianca was saying, that Bianca definitely doesn't believe the marriage story at all anymore. But tactful Binks managed to slide that right under Kendall's radar, thus sparing herself a grand "Don't you trust and believe me?" spiel of the kind that only a Kane can deliver.

Jack, please take pity on me and get Erica a new engagement ring. She was right when she said the Fugly Purple Monstrosity could be used for self-defense.

Oh, man, it was great! One of my fave Kinks moments. Those two are sooooooo doing it. Kendall was trying to talk Bianca out of finding out about whatever but you could tell that Kendall was eating it up that her girlfr......um, sister was trying to free her. Another gooey eyed adoring look and declaration of love ensued. But we're used to that, no? But that door scene! Dayum! I'm trying not to build it up too much but it was the flirtiest damn thing I've ever seen! Either Alicia and Eden are playing the perviness up as much as possible or they just have odd ideas about how sisters interact. (I expect a detailed account of your view of it after you watch.)

Here's a tidbit that I'm sure Olga's board didn't go into detail about: Kendall is trying to needle Binks into choosing 'Kendall' for a name (insert super flirty Binks response). There's two funny things about this part. One is that Kendall goes on about how hot the baby will be if she takes after her aunt. Kendall? Stop fishing. Bianca is well aware how hot you are. The second funny thing is, Kendall implies that the baby will be lucky to share her fashion sense. In a very meta turn, Bianca laughs in her face. It was a total shout out, snarking on Kendall's wardrobe. There's also an Eden really working the girlfriend angle scene where Binks surprises Kendall in court. Pervy was on today, man. Just lovely.

You're right, the PBP really glossed over the whole Kendall-name bit, so I'm eternally grateful to you for going into detail. It just had her suggesting it and that Bianca laughed that she'd consider it. Kendall fishing for hotness compliments? Bwah! She soooo got the idea from her dream in which Bianca said Kendall Jr. was beautiful just like her aunt and is trying to get that to happen in real life. Hee. Too bad Kendall had to get back to court so that they couldn't brainstorm properly.

(Which reminds me, did anyone let out a whimper when Michael used that word in one of the nightmares--I think when he was talking to Ryan? That's Kinks's word! Off-limits, dammit, especially to FEA!)

I thought the court stuff was pretty good today. The opening statements gave me more of a concrete idea what their positions are. Sadly, no judge snark. :( If the trial continues in the vein that it has so far, it could be pretty good. I also actually liked Greens for a whole two seconds today when she was with Maria. That's a lot of pretty in one room. Tomorrow looks very iffy. Boobe's back. Bastards.

From the PBP, it sounded like the prosecution's position is that Kendall killed Michael mostly for the money, which is an interesting, if tricky, choice. The rapist/revenge motive is stronger, but OTOH that runs the risk of jury sympathy for Kendall and dislike for the Asscicle, which could ultimately mean the jury members setting their reasonable doubt standard a tad lower than they might otherwise do. "It'd sure suck to send an innocent person to jail for killing such a total scumbag, so let's be reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaally sure before voting to convict."

And Livia's hammering the whole marriage-in-Vegas angle, plus the long line of other suspects, as expected. Gee, what a surprise, Binky didn't make the list. If Livia ever had her name down in a draft of her opening argument, Kendall would've crossed it off.

Didn't Kendall say something about the Volderbaby being as "fantastic" as her Auntie Kendall? I about choked on my drink and my inner kariyaki automatically added "...in bed" (like the fortune cookie game). And then I had to bleach my brain because I realized I was thinking of Kendall thinking about her unborn baby's...er...niece's sex life. Look what you people have done to me! *shakes fist* Oh look, there's the 3:30 sled.

The Commonwealth's opening statement alone should be enough to dismiss the case outright and, if these were real proceedings, it would have been laughed out of court.

Livia's was better, but still pretty damn illegal in parts.

Yes, I admit that I've hated Rebecca's opening shot from the day it debuted. The fact her hair's longer now is really just my excuse for a re-shoot being done.

I don't think defense attorneys are allowed to list a bunch of other suspects in opening arguments. It's fine to put them up on the stand to testify and make them look guilty there, but I don't think it can be brought up in the opening statement. Too prejudicial. But clearly AMC did that because they wanted to be able to show all the flashes of various suspects.

To be brief about it, there are certain rules one must follow in opening and closing statements and neither Forehead not Livia would have been allowed to say about half of what they did. I could list all the rules, but I have better things to do, like, oh, count ants.

ETA: BK , after you watch AMC, I'll be curious to know if you still think Kendall knows what Bianca did or saw the night Michael was killed. At first it looked as if she didn't, then it did, then it didn't again. Very weird. I can't tell if she's just protecting Binky because she saw/did something or simply because that's what Kendall does now.

Interestingly, neither did Maggie again, despite her "gee can I borrow your gun" scenes that the writers have seemingly forgotten. I wonder if that'll ever come up again.

Jackson, honey, while I admire your idealism, is taking the entire Kane-Montgomery family to France a good idea? These people couldn't even eat together peacefully. Does he honestly expect two "brainstorming" sisters, an autistic daughter, a juvenile delinquent, and mortal enemies Erica and Greenlee to have a vacation together? Somebody's living in the mansion.

CKD, from the incomplete dialogue at the PBP, it sounded like Kendall does know--the most telling line was the one where she insisted that Bianca can't help her by putting up another suspect, because first, if she doesn't know who/what Bianca saw, how could she make such a claim? and second, that's one of the two cornerstones of her entire defense. But of course I need to see the actual scenes before saying for sure. Not so much for facial expressions and line delivery--both of those throughout this murder mystery are really worthless because the actors were in the dark when taping these scenes--as for what was said, exactly.

(Now, of course, when it comes to Kinks SisYay, facial expressions and line delivery are priceless...)

I got a kick out of how Kendall today basically parroted everything Lena said yesterday with respect to Binky not worrying her pretty little head about getting Kendall...acquitted. Too bad Kendall wasn't at the studio yesterday to back the HPF. Of course, Naggie would have just changed her tune again to suit the argument at hand.

Oh, Kendall totally knows. I became convinced as soon as Bianca, out of the blue, asked Kendall if she was protecting someone. The Binkster has one helluva built in lie detector (even though she often ignores it or just chooses not to investigate). She got a strong enough vibe from Kendall to know Kendall was trying to distract her or that Kendall was hiding something. If Binks hadn't been so distracted with 'it', she would have really gone after Kendall. Plus, there was that look Kendall gave after Bianca shut the door. Yepper, Kendall knows something.

There was something awfully perfunctury about Kendall's delivery. Of course, as you say, it could be because, when they shot the scene, they didn't know who the killer was going to be. How much direction do you think they get when they're still not supposed to know the particulars of a story?

Yeah, I forgot that bit where Bianca came right out with "are you protecting someone?" Her BS detector is terrific. (But I'm even more impressed at how she's able to question Kendall, all but admit she doesn't believe the Vegas story even though Kendall practically swore on a stack of Bibles in front of her, and so on without tripping any of Kendall's many "trust" wires. Yeah, Bianca's definitely got the upper hand in this relationship.) Plus don't forget in Kendall's dream, when she's holding the Kinks lovechild, she goes on about how it was all worth it.

Protectiveness is one thing, but I just don't see Kendall going into this kind of overdrive unless she knew something for sure. She slapped a big red bullseye on her back with her whole "I married Michael" shtick. If she hadn't done that, well, there's a hundred suspects. Even if Bianca and Erica and Kendall would all inevitably be near the top of the list, for all Kendall knew Bianca and Erica could've had solid alibis while other top suspects might not. There was no need for her to stick her head under the guillotine like this, and I don't think she would have, if she didn't have very strong reason to believe that either Binks or Erica knocked off Michael.

In murder mysteries, the actors are told to all act as suspicious and guilty as possible, which they've all been doing for months...except for Eden. It's yet another of the many indicators that make me think Bianca's the killer. Eden has pretty obviously been told not to act suspicious all these months.

If Bianca is the killer, then it's just Nora/Colin on OLTL all over again, which is incredibly lame (Hell, it was incredibly lame the first time). I really hope that is not the direction they're going. If Kendall thinks Bianca did it, that's fine, but not if she really is the killer.

McTavish is such a complete hack.

But doesn't that make you wonder if it was done on purpose so that you would think she's the killer? It's one of the reasons I immediately crossed her off my list, but maybe I'm giving McT & Co. way too much credit.

ETA: Word, Grinaldi : it'll be so much more interesting if it turns out that Kendall has done all that she has thinking she was protecting Bianca just to realize she had it all wrong.

I'm assuming Erica tries to kill Kendall. Maybe we get Bianca walking in while Erica holds a gun on Kendall and passionately throwing herself between her mother and her lov . . er sister. At any rate, I'm guessing Erica learns about the Kinks lovechild before she does the deed.

Definitely too much credit to McTrash. Subtlety is not her thing. But remember, it actually does fit, too, because the way it's been set up, if Bianca did it, she doesn't remember doing it. I wouldn't expect an amnesiac Bianca to be walking around acting guilty. I'd be expecting her to walk around acting...exactly as she's been acting since Michael went missing.

You know, I also realized that in a way it's easier on Bianca in the long run if she did do it. If anyone else had done it, Binks would feel guilty, especially if that person was sent off to jail for it. Yes, she could also feel guilty about Kendall going to so much trouble to protect her, except I think Binks shot Michael to save Kendall, anyway, so in that case, they'd be even.

Well, that explains Erica's "deadly mistake"--she's about to kill someone, probably Kendall. I'm wondering if SON's spoiler dates are off again...didn't SON have Erica learning the truth about the Kinks lovechild next week? But if we look at the spoiler that says Erica lashes out at Kendall after learning that DNA tests confirm that Kendall is pregnant with the Assfetus...then her "prepares to kill" which would line up with "poised to make a deadly mistake"...my guess is that Bianca walks in on Erica about to kill Kendall because she thinks Kendall is pregnant. Then, of course, Binks spills the beans, as Mysticks Muse theorized.

Erica prepares to kill? If that little troll from hell touches one hair on Kendall's head I'll........... What the hell is going on?
