The terrorists are firmly in the background really. It's more a corporate/criminal conspiracy from what I can tell. I echo your fears though - by hour seven, the companies will be shifting WMDs to terrorists but one has become stranded in the U.S or some silliness. It'd be nice to get more details, how the sexual misconduct investigation by the FBI fits in for example, or why Jack may be so important.

Okay, so I really didn't expect detailed episode spoilers to come this early. I don't want to be as spoiled as I was last year. All I want are the press releases, casting info, etc. I ruined last season for myself by reading episode details.

So I bid the spoiler forums adeau. I did't expect this to come so soon!

Interesting spoilers. I like the Jack/conspiracy angle and the White House stuff can be good, but PLEASE be written better and different than last year.

Yeah, I also try and avoid them, but couldn't help reading anyway. Dammit!

I was feeling very optimistic about season 7 until I read those spoilers. I'm disappointed by what's been written here, I gotta say. I'm hoping it's fan fiction(doesn't sound like it) or that the PTB rework it in a big way. The Jack plot sounds interesting and different, even though the spy/lover thing has been done who knows how many times. But outside of that...ugh! Chloe and Morris, working for an anti-terrorist agency, that has a day-care facility?! That sounds like a bad mix of the Season 3 baby-arc and Chloe and Morris's relationship at CTU this year, I can feel myself pulling my hair out already. Please drop this. Please, please. You might as well have kept CTU for all the difference it'd make; the only real change that comes to mind is that we lose the hottie that is Nadia and replace her with a BABY! Division S7 could actually be worse than CTU S6. I was reeeeally looking forward to Jack not having satellite surveillance and all the technology that's associated with working with a big government agency, nor freedom from prosecution by the police, but he will, inevitably. I didn't want to see anymore Presidential storylines, but there it is. Dang!

I wanted the show to be smart, and badass, I wanted it to go to a darker place than it ever has before, I wanted it to be original and different, and now I'm almost certain it will not. It's early days, but 24 may be dead. I feel depressed.

So Jack moved on from Audrey....then why would she be rumored to be in the movie, and if he is in DC then he is bound to run into her. This sounds interesting. Would like to read more though.

Okay, I'm back to make a few comments. I'll go dark starting tomorrow. I think at least.

Anyway, I feel exactly the same way. It's CTU all over again, in another location. It's total crap. And I bet Chloe will have even less screentime, be less snarky, interact with Jack less that ever, be remarried to Morris and basically be a generic nothing. And Mary Lynn will put up with it because she'll be making good money.

But I do have one important question: WHAT IS THE STARTING TIME?! This is what I really want to know!

Oh... sorry I forgot to include the start time. I just got like 3 messages asking for it so I guess it's really important to some people.

Front of the script and on the top of the pages says 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.

To me it seems like the past 3 seasons have all started in the same general time-frame. Not a big deal but I can see how some fans get tired of the same thing. From a Los Angelino's perspective that time fits perfect (climate wise) with the August-April shooting schedule so I can see how they have grown accustomed to it.

Well, I like the locale change.

Division. Well. It'll be nice to see the place where personalities go to die though that doesn't bode well for Morris or Chloe. Though does this mean Division was always in DC? Or does DC have its own Division? Why am I trying to figure this out?

Aronson, Collins and Nyah all have the potential to be interesting. I like the casting ideas for the first two. I don't mind another presidential storyline but the whole thing about the FBI investigating Mr. Collins for sexual misconduct seems a wee bit ridiculous.

It would be different if Nyah were playing Jack because she thinks he's one of the bad guys rather than just doing it because she's a Nina redux.

8:00AM SUCKS! Stupid,boring, crap. Try 9:00AM or 10. It's not that hard!

I guess it's mildly interesting...I'm not a big fan of seeing Division, given the history of it always being talked about but never being seen. But Chloe having her daughter on the job? Bad memories of one of the few things gone wrong in Season 3.

As for the shadowy corporate conspiracy, that's something they should've taken up in season 4 when they had the chance. They've also utilized the theme far too often now (seasons 5 and 6, while not dealing directly with a corporation, not-so-subtly referenced them as the bad guys). I also find it a bit unbelievable that after last season's ending, Jack decides to go back into a field that holds so many bad memories for him. Whatever.

Interesting to see how they manage to fit Bill and Karen into this...hopefully they aren't running their own security company and get called into action...just in time to get blown up... (yeah, still bitter about that) Personally, I think that they should be written out for good. Kind of like Tony and Michelle post-season 4, their time on the show ran its course naturally for the time being.

In the end, one thing I've always wanted from 24 after the first season was another 24 hours that was as personally intense for Jack. Seasons 2 and 3 did a good job of that, while these past 3 - ironically including the ones with his 'family' - just didn't have that feel. And from these spoilers, I don't get the feeling that it's going to be suspenseful, either.

Lastly, the one good thing I thought came from last season was the development of some serviceable characters - by the end of the season, I thought Doyle and Nadia would be useful additions. But instead, we're going back for another casting overhaul, again wasting the chance of developing secondary characters worth watching.

I am very concerned that day 7 will give us even LESS Chloe than usual. It sounds like there are 5-6 major storylines going on!

I hope that this is not the final script. This is just the same old thing, in new clothing.

So in essence, Jack is now working for McLennon-Forster?

I have to admit, this doesn't sound like any kind of bold new direction for the show, but more like the same old piss in a different-coloured bottle.

If it's two years after Day 6, how can there be a new President? Wayne had only just been elected. Unless Wayne died/was too ill to resume his duties, and then Daniels died/was impeached/whatever, and was replaced by the Speaker. Does this mean that Collins is an analogue of Nancy Pelosi?

I hope the writers remember this. They should make her the Governor of Virginia/Maryland or the mayor of DC instead.

I'm disappointed too.

The corporate espionage angle looks fun (at least compared to the WMD fest of the last five years) and I like the idea that Jack's potentially a fugitive already.

Time-wise I'm fine. 8AM was pretty inevitable given that they're filming on the East Coast where filming conditions are rougher and they need to maximise the amount of time they have to film their day/night scenes.

But other than that... meh...

1. Division. Another counter-terrorist grouping. Boring.

2. Aronson's storyline seems functionally identical to the situation of Graem/Philip, Henderson, McLennan-Forster etc. It may play out differently but it's not all that big and original.

3. The president plot... dull. And I like the political stuff, but it feels old. And it seems she has a ManSherry -- actually, a Bill. Also, Sela Ward? For real? Ugh. She's an okay actress, but just not that engaging.

4. Chloe, Morris, Bill and Karen are back. Sigh. So much for a clean slate. I like the characters, but the show is best when it shakes things up more radically. I'd hoped we'd get Chloe coming in for a big role around episode 7 or so and apart from that the cast would be kept in the background. It looks like by episode 7 there's every chance most of the major figures from last year will be back in play.

5. DC. Why? I could just about get the clamour for a new location when the show was doing WMD stories every year but there's absolutely no reason I can see to leave LA, except so we can immerse ourselves in more White House stuff and the writers can point to a big, superficial change.

6. What kind of a name is Nyah?

Still, it's early days and they've shaken things up a lot. Hopefully they can work out what they're doing.

Thanks for posting all this, GetMeOuttaHere.
