The CSIs discover that two seemingly unrelated crimes are actually part of the same twisted revenge plot.

Revenge is a dish best served twistily overplotcomplicated!

So, CSI:SVU?

I'll have to rewatch this one later, I was sick and so I kept drifting in and out of the storyline.

So, it looks like we might finally be moving towards Wendy going out into the field. I always did wonder how she'd fare as a CSI. I wonder who would replace her in DNA?

Needs more Sara... she came back, now use her!

Three questions:

1. Was that Cody Kasch playing Tommy? (The guy who got raped.) It looked a lot like him, and the voice was familiar.

2. Speaking of Desperate Housewives characters, maybe it was just because I'm sick and all, but was it just me or was the lady playing the hooker in this episode the same lady who played the hotel maid in last week's Desperate Housewives episode? But I think the hooker-lady was thinner... so I don't know.

3. Was anyone else reminded of Ending Happy when each suspect kept confessing to killing Wayne? (Speaking of Wayne: What a piece of shit. He deserved what he got.)

Wayne was not a nice person. I'm a little surprised he didn't get offed before this.

Yay! Ray was not the All-Knowing Being this time around.

I was surprised the mother showed up and then disappeared and that was it; I figured she'd be in the story more.

I have to admit, though, that I'm getting a bit annoyed lately with all these twisty "Oooo, our cases are related!" episodes lately. I'd like things to go back to the less contrived "Here's two totally separate cases, can you solve them" format. Still this was a pretty good episode, that Wayne was a real shitbag.

Not until you mentioned it, I suppose because the Ending Happy was one of the comic episodes, and this definitely wasn't one of them.

I agree. This is getting to the point where I'm going to post something on "Things I Learned from CSI", ex. if two crimes are committed within a short time span, they are related.

I especially didn't like that the spent so much time on trying to misdirect us, only to figure pretty quickly that it was Wayne's stripper girlfriend who killed him once they looked at the trace evidence.

Given that we could see her nipples protruding behind her shirt in at least one shot, I think she's a little too excited about the prospect.

OK, I'm glad it's not just me! LOL! I've come back to watching the show this season after a few years off, and I'm really enjoying it again. But, is this the third episode that we've seen connected cases in? Last night when we sat down to watch I actually said out loud, "At least these cases aren't going to be related to each other!" Alas, I should have read the episode description.

At any rate, I liked the stories and thought the cases were well done. After years of just being sort of neutral on Greg, I'm really coming around to liking him...the bit at the cash register was hilarious! And I really liked him sticking up for Wendy.

What was up with the counselor and the apparent stick up her ass? That was kind of an odd way to play her. I wonder if we'll see her again...Mr SparkleStick thinks she's a hook-up for Nick.

I think Mr SparkleStick is correct about that. It seemed almost ...soap-opera-ish in the cliche of 2 attractive people meet up, are immediately at odds, and then...attraction. That shot at the end focusing on the counselor's face with the little smile was a story anvil if ever I saw one.

I don't mind a tiny bit of "characters' personal lives" stuff on the show -- GSR was fine IMO in that it really developed in 2 minute snippets over years -- but I don't want my CSI to become the rancid soap that is CSI: Miami.

So YAY for Nick maybe getting a romantic interest but BOO if development of that gets more than a couple of minutes here and there.

I too am officially tired of the "related murders". But that said, I also am very wary of the cross-over episodes next week. I hate CSI: Miami and everything about it, so don't know if I can stomach watching that to get the cross-over started. But jeez, Fishburne and Caruso in scenes together? <singing> One of these things is not like the other...

What, no love for Miami?! LOL! We watch it regularly for the comedic value. It is so completely ridiculous, but soooooo snark-worthy! Just don't take it seriously and enjoy the hot mess that is HoCaine...you should be fine. We can get on to the real stuff with the other two shows. ;)

She's just following in Catherine's footsteps.

I forgot about that until you brought it up. If so, then that means one of two things:

1. She's going to be murdered (like that hooker and Taylor Swift's character), or

2. Someone close to Nick will be murdered or undergo some sort of traumatizing experience (Warrick, Catherine).

I just don't think the Nick Stokes Curse has run its course yet.

Greg's sweet. And I loved him carrying on a conversation with himself at the register. As much as he hates Hodges, that... uhh... that was something that Hodges would do.

I'm a bit leery about the crossovers, myself, if only because I hate Miami. But hey, Catherine somehow had chemistry with Horatio... (Then again, that was back when Horatio was marginally likeable. Or tolerable, at least.)

I, too, am tired of the different cases being related. When we first saw the scene at the store where the guy was shot (and partially toasted), I figured it was related to the other case. So I thought that the dead guy had raped the first guy. I didn't know who had killed him, but still I was annoyed that the plot was so obvious.

BTW, I also thought it was obvious that the guy had been raped, so it was so weird when Nick had to have the possibility all spelled out for him.

I especially didn't like that the spent so much time on trying to misdirect us, only to figure pretty quickly that it was Wayne's stripper girlfriend who killed him once they looked at the trace evidence.

When Greg found that in the cash register, I thought it looked like a fingernail tip. But then I forgot all about it. Funnily enough, I remember noticing the sister's fingernails, expecting them to be dirty and chewed, for some reason, instead of trimmed short and clean. Also, when the stripper was informed that her boyfriend was dead, she put her hand up to her face in shock. In hindsight, this was to let us see that she had long fingernails, but I didn't think about it at the time.

I had to look up the actor who played the rape victim. I couldn't place the face. As Are You Wake Up said, he was on Desperate Housewives. (I don't know if he's still on still I haven't watched for a couple of years.)

Two questions came to mind after I finished watching this.

Has everyone forgotten that Nick was raped once? He was eight or nine at the time when the babysitter raped him

So it's established now that Wendy is both abusive and stupid. Tell me again why Hodges likes her?

I'm not looking forward to the crossover either. Anything that puts Catherine in proximity to Horatio scares me. She's not good enough for him. Though it is fun watching him be polite to her while not laughing at her desperate attempts to get his attention.

No one on CSI knows but Catherine, and as the actor has said publicly that he was not happy with that bit of his character's past the writers are now trying to forget that they wrote that.

I used to be able to watch Miami for a laugh but it got so stupid I quit wasting my time on the show three years ago and haven't touched it since. Because I loathe CSI Miami so much I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch any of the CSI episodes next week. I do wonder though which writers are going to be doing the main plot for these crossovers. Will they each write their own show and blend or will it be a completely collaborative effort?

This episode was convoluted and it's getting bad when early on I just know the cases are going to be linked. Why couldn't this have been one case and Sarah's case the other? Oh, right, because Sarah's case was not related.

Revenge is a dish best served twistily overplotcomplicated!

Now I'm trying to remember the timeline (but I don't really want the episode again):

1) Tommy cleans out the register,
2) Sister of Wayne gets locked(?) in her room at home,
3) Tommy goes back for Sister's medal,
4) Tommy get caught by Wayne and beat up and raped,
5) Next morning, Wayne's Girlfriend shoots Wayne,
6) Then Tommy's Brother go to confront Wayne, but finds him dead, so he torches the place.

I think that's it.
