» The Newlywed Game: Makin' Whoopee

Dear God, say it ain't so!!!!!

Carnie Wilson is going to host an all-new version of The Newlywed Game.

GO AWAY, CARNIE!!!! PLEASE!!!!! GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!

I decided to come right here and protest this grand injustice on the thread for The Newlywed Game and.......................

WE DON'T HAVE ONE!!!!!!!!!

Ok folks, it's time to debate whether this new version is going to be horrible, or just plain dumb.

And don't forget to show some love for the classic version, and especially to show some love for Bob "Makin' Whoopee" Eubanks.

And what exactly did that woman say when Bob asked her, "What was the weirdest place where you had sex?"

Did Bob really say the word "sex" instead of "whoopee"?

I think the question was "Where's the most unusual place you've had the urge to make whoopee?" (I don't think they ever said "have sex" during the first run of the series. Maybe the Paul Rodriguez version, but I never saw that one.)

The wife's answer: "In the butt."

Another favorite: "Complete the sentence: My husband is a closet (what?)"

Wife's answer: "Queen." And he's a burly guy with a buzz cut, looks like a retired linebacker, sounds like Archie Bunker. The best part: this couple had zero points, answered the final question right while the other three couples got theirs wrong, and they won the "grand prize chosen especially for you".

And can we have a confirmation that there were three other "grand prizes" for the other couples waiting backstage if one of them had won? I didn't think so. ;-{)}

The idea of Carnie hosting is lousy. Where's Todd Newton when you need him? Even if he hosted, I can't imagine the show working because it will probably end up more vulgar than risque. It happened with new versions of "Match Game" and "Hollywood Squares", and it'll happen here.

The wife's answer: "In the butt."

I heard it was "in the ass"(bleeped, of course).

And can we have a confirmation that there were three other "grand prizes" for the other couples waiting backstage if one of them had won? I didn't think so. ;-{)}

Supposedly, during the selection process, each couple was asked what they wanted to win, so they just chose four couples for each episode who wanted the same thing.

And as far as I know, it's always been "whoopee." (Now watch me be wrong.:) )

Girls, tell me, where specifically, is the weirdest place that you, personally, girls, have ever gotten the urge to make whoopee?

My husband is a closet (what?)
(Sound quality is bad, but you can watch all of the Berg's here.)

and here's some others:

What would your husband say is his favorite condiment?

Would your husband say that he is basically more urban or rural?

You can sometimes tell that Bob just likes having fun with these contestants and that made him a great host.

Just wanted to see what anyone else thought about the new episodes. They are alright I guess. I like when the goldyweds come back to play.

I can't believe they still say Whoopee though!

Carnie works well, believe it or not. She is a good replacement for Bob, and really has a lot of fun.

The contestant do make the show, though. I have NEVER heard Australia used the way one contestant used it for an answer on the show.

How did they use it? I must have missed that one

Thanks for posting that. It was cute. I guess if I thought hard enough I could've figured out that Australia is down under.

I have not seen the new show yet, but just saw a commercial last night. Do all of the answer cards have "eHarmony" on the bottom? I hate that.

Ya. And the last question is the "eharmony compatability question" it is kind of annoying

It's horribly dumb...and boring. Instead of eharmony being the sponsor, Ambien should sponsor it. This program and Ambien are both sure cures for insomnia.

Have some of the "Goldyweds" (in this version) been on the show more than once in the final round?

I can't compare this show to an older show because I never watched it before. But from the few shows I've seen, I'd like to see it end as soon as possible. It borders on pornography, and I don't think that's funny.
