Can this child be saved?

Seriously. Is he even going to make it to the Semis?

If anybody in the entire US of A did not need to set their MySpace to private throughout the audition process (and now), it's Garrett Haley.

ETA: Well, he lists Steve Perry as one of his musical influences on his AI bio (Steve Perry and the Backstreet Boys). That may be promising...if he sounds anything close to Steve Perry.

The fact that he knows who Steve Perry is at his age is promising... Not necessarily surprising, given his hair, but promising. I know I didn't discover classic rock til college, and I'm 10 years older than him.

Have we seen a single, tiny clip of him singing at all? Or can anyone find one anywhere??

Okay, I don't like Steve Perry's voice, either. I'm kind of hoping he or Jason Yeager is the first to go, just to save the other Jason and Luke Menard, who I want to know more about.

For all I know, Noriega or Johns or somebody else they actually invested some time into will be the first to go.

But based on hair alone, I wouldn't be sorry to see the end of (Leif) Garrett (Frampton) Haley.

Oh, and if we get to suggest thread titles already, I propose GARRETT HALEY: Turning Over a New Leif?

I cannot get over his resemblance to Canadian Idol's Kalan Porter.

Maybe he sounds like Leif Garrett.

If he does, expect the present, and former, Garrett Girls, or Leif-lettes, or whatever they called themsleves, to make a tight race of it.

Lightning could find its way into a similar looking bottle. It's not likely, but it is possible.

Seems like about the nicest little cannon fodder ever.

Oh, my. That's certainly a high little voice he's got there. He's really a teen dream, all David Cassidy meets Donny Osmond with Leif Garret's hair and a higher voice. I didn't think it was possible, but he really does have a higher voice than Neil Sedaka.

He wasn't bad...but it wasn't exactly good either. It was also extremely boring. I'm thinking he's heading home Thursday.

Oh yeah, definitely going home Thursday. I'll be shocked if he isn't. But there's two others that I could send packing, so he does have a slim chance.
I agree, it was boring...from the very first notes you could tell that.

I don't think he's going to go. The teen girls will vote for him.

I really didn't think he was that bad...maybe because I am just bored with the angsty Daughtry/Nickelback clones that make up most of the others.

I don't think I could vote for him though, he wasn't good enough to vote for. But if anyone gets the Sanjaya vote this season, it may be him.

I think he sounded pretty on his song- clear tone, etc. I want to give him a sandwich, though. He looked a little sickly up there. I think his chubby little brother is stealing his food...

He sounds a lot like Neil Sedaka. He would have been better off singing the actual 60's version of the song, rather than the bland MOR 70's take. Actually, he should have just picked a different song, neither version fits this show very well.

Wow - that was really really bad.

I thought he seemed like a such a little sweetheart. It wasn't a great performance but he didn't get much screen time in Hollywood, and I'd like to see him get another chance.
