BEST. EPISODE. EVER! Saw this on the Canadian broadcast last night so I've had time to compose a few thoughts.

Surprises abounded in this one and to me it was very satisfying. We don't know everything about the big B, but for me I know enough to hold me over for a bit.

Big question for me is if Hiro Daddy is part of this whole thing, why wouldn't he more easily have bought Hiro's claims a few episodes ago? L'il Hiro was totally cute.

It is my hope Parkman will become part of the Bennet team, as it would set him up for much more interesting plotty goodness in the future.

I got really worried at the end, as he's just too cool a character to have killed. I had to tape the episode as I was out, so I was glad I was able to rewind to make sure he was telling the Haitian not to kill him, just aim to injure. This final scene had such an incredible emotional impact, and it will be interesting to see the reprocussions.

Give Jack Coleman an Emmy. That was a spectacular episode!

Also, thank g-d for no Vista promo.

Best episode of the series so far, without question.

The entire time we've known him, we've been asking ourselves about Bennet's motivations. Was he out to protect Claire, or was she the ends to some sort of means? Tonight, we see that every step HRG has taken has been to see to Claire's well-being, to protect this young girl whom he has come to love. It is touching, it is wonderful, and I am so in awe of Jack Coleman's performance tonight. He's the best actor of this series, without a doubt, and if he doesn't receive some sort of recognition, awards wise, then I will be severly disappointed. The last scene of the episode just tore my heart out, proving that Panettiere and Coleman just CLICK. Like their predecessors Sydney and Jack Bristow, this is one of the most believable father-daughter relationships on television. Just fantastic. Kudos to everyone involved in tonight's broadcast. I'm absolutely in love with this show.

Now, Claire is on her way to NYC, methinks. Time for the Petrelli reunion.

So I guess "no one is safe" is, as we've said before, a total lie. Since given a pretty good opportunity to kill the near indestructible Claire (face it... a bomb COULD do it if it melted her brain), instead they saved her.

Of course using her as a pawn has a lot more long term plot potential. So its not like it was a bad idea. It just shows again that the crappy promos suck.

Obviously the evilish overlords led by Sulu have big plans for a bomb guy.

And I think they are going to get into some pretty dark territory with Matt's plot. If you have a mind reader you'd want to brainwash him to control him pretty tightly.

And if they'd had an almost indestructible girl? They'd hurt her. A lot. To test it. And then use her to do REALLY dangerous stuff (and I think its clear that she does feel pain, if not a debilitating amount). So I suppose NBC didn't really want to go there and let the bad guys have her.

So one wonders what Evil Sulu means by letting Hiro run around. He knows about his powers. He has to.

We are supposed to wonder of course how much info the Haitian took out of HRG.

Linderman!

Now time for the crappy Irish mob show. Yawn.

Ack! Tivo cut off last 30 seconds - what happened after Claire told Bennett she looked like "my father"?

Awesome episode.

Eric Roberts is entering Mickey Rourke territory, and I'm not talking about his acting. Ouch.

Wow. What a focused episode, and they really delivered.

George Takei is in on it too! Damn...there's got to be a good story back there.

At the end...Haitian Sensation shot HRG and wiped his memory...are they just going to leave him by the side of the road?

Next week looks even better...how the hell is Simone still alive?!

Anybody notice that the Young Haitian was wearing a necklace that was the exact same symbol as Nikki/ikkiN's shoulder tatoo?

Sons. Of. Bitches!

I'm crying my eyes out, peeps! This is wrong! Mr. Bennet.... Hayden owes me for mental anguish.

Claire coming out of the house was awesome, but did everyone see her healing? Oh my.... I need to rewatch this.

Matt rocked this episode.

Anybody notice that the Young Haitian was wearing a necklace that was the exact same symbol as Nikki/ikkiN's shoulder tatoo?

The symbol means "Godsend" per Ando. It's pretty much been a recurring theme. I love it, btw. I wonder who is going to be the first fan to get a real tattoo of that!

Could this show BE anymore effing awesome?

As much as I like Heroes for its integration of several plots and characters into one episode and the snappy pace it usually creates, I'm so happy that they stuck with one story this week. It left all the drama unbroken for what was a seriously intense installment. Also, it allowed for some character development and exploration, which is the only problem I've had with this show: lots of plot, great, yes, but I want to delve into the characters a little more. (I'd rather they hadn't started with HRG, as I liked the air of mystery about him, but . . . more on that in a sec.)

Last week when Simone was shot? I felt, like, aggressively apathetic about it. I've never bought into the whole Isaac-Simone-Peter love triangle, because there has been very little proof that it actually exists. We've heard some exposition about their respective histories together, but aside from some umbrella smooching and some rooftop hand-holding, there's been no tangible evidence of any kind of relationship between any of them. But the end of this episode? Completely heartbreaking. It's been a long time since a television program made me cry. Well played, Jack & Hayden. Well freakin' played.

The one thing that worries me: how deep is the Haitian going to go into HRG's head? Is he simply going to erase the past few hours, is he going to obliterate Claire completely from his mind (augh! tragic! Will Claire ever catch a break on this show?!), or is he going to get a complete mind wipe? I ask because I worry that the ambiguity of his character will be ruined, which would be a shame, because his complexity makes him one of the best and most intriguing characters on TV today. For the same reason, I hope he doesn't become an old softy either, rebelling against Primatech and whatnot. There are enough decidedly "good" characters on the show already, thank you very much.

HRG & Parkman as partners? Please let it be true . . . .
