ok...but we know the editing magic that can go on. We have NO idea if marcles storming off was in anyway related to the incident.

How could it not be? He's wearing the white tank and jeans that he was wearing when Cliff grabbed him, the video is taken with the hand-held camera and you hear Ilan goading someone to "apologize" in his snarky voice.

These people are beyond the pale. The shaved their heads to try to make what they did seem "less" important. God, none of them deserve to be in the finals. Tom C. was right, Marcel should win by default (and I don't even think he's that good!).

Wow. Thanks for those stills, DJLexxy. I completely missed that. Just...wow. It just makes the whole thing even uglier.

Tiffiany, on the other hand, was rather mean to everyone. Yet I still would not say she deserved it.

Correct. What she deserved was to be voted against by the other competitors at the judging. That is what she got.

No one deserves what Marcel got.

To me, this was no prank. I see a prank as putting shaving cream in someone's hand when they are sleeping and getting them to swat at their face. This was a crime.

Man, I'm so disappointed that Elia turned this openly against Marcel. I've been wondering if they were no longer pals based on the interviews out there, but I didn't expect her to turn this cruelly against him. Mia sacrificed herself for nothing.

I'd love to hear Mia's reaction on this episode. First, to watch her cursing Cliff to the depths of hell, and to see if she regrets leaving.

First, I so miss this Bravo reality show that was about food. We all write so much about how we miss the food focus and the chef focus, etc, but maybe (gulp) the Magical Elves are right to do what they've been doing. I mean, TC has just been focusing on drama, drama, drama and we've got 40 pages of discussion in less than 24 hours?

Second, why did Padmadala do the fake out PYKAG? I thought it was uncalled for and when she made it into a joke, I screamed "you f-ing whore!"

ITA with some of the previous posters who wrote that this elimination challenge should have been engineered more like S1's wedding challenge, with the winner of the quickfire having to actually act like a Top Chef.

Previous JDs have discussed the differences between assault and battery and their various definitions, so I'll just agree with them that unwanted touching and placing in fear of unwanted touching are assault and battery. Hi Cleef!

I hate everyone now (that includes you, Bravo Poll Thinker-Uppers!) and think that they should all be buried up to their necks in gelee and foam. I do hate Marcel less than I hate everyone else (it's something). I'd like to have the willpower to not watch the finale, but I'll probably do it just to see the end.

This is just too depressing; thank God we still have Jack Bauer.

After last night, I'm all for Marcel. Elia certainly turned out to be a backstabber didn't she? I did like her before that and I thought she and Marcel had a nice relationship, professionally and personally. Now I think she's a bitch. Sam has the evil look to him. If I had to pick 2, I'd pick Ilan and Marcel.

So I took some stills, and it definitely exposes Elia as a liar, plus it throws off the timeline that the editors presented us.

These are from right after Cliff finally lets go of Marcel, and he is trying to go into a bedroom. You can hear Ilan mockingly yell "Come on! Apologize to him now!" as he is walking away. Check out the lower right on the screen. It's definitely Elia, with all of her hair:

Still 1
Still 2
Still 3
Still 4

This also means that they shaved their heads after they tried to shave Marcel's. So when Elia was making fun of Marcel, imitating his hair, its after she witnessed what had happened. So the other chefs went on with their fun and laughed and obviously felt no remorse whatsoever.

Wow...just wow... That's so disgusting. Then their head-shaving was definitely a "cover your ass" punk move. It's all so cruel and pre-meditated.

I cannot believe that Ilan, Elia and Sam got away with it. A little slap on the wrist. That's it? It's nauseating to see such viciousness rewarded with a trip to Hawaii.

A few things:
Cliff said in one of his episode interviews that he wanted to hit Marcel at least 5 times since the show started. Then he actually does assault Marcel, and looks surprised that he is getting kicked off. What an idiot.

Also, Ilan and Elia, brain trust that they are, decide to shave their heads the night before Judge's Table with Eric Ripert! That's an excellent way to cement your professional reputation. Show your juvenile, drunken side before one of the most exalted chefs alive. If Elia and Ilan arrived on the show with shaved heads, no one would think anything of it. But doing it as a way to let off steam after a hard challenge...doesn't speak well of their coping mechanisms in the workplace. Assault and the enabling of it aside, I would not hire them for anything other than low level positions. Cook the food, collect the paycheck, try not to harm yourself or others on the way home. Definitely not top chef material.

Sam is an instigator, encouraging everyone to explore their basest impulses, so long as he doesn't get his hands dirty. That's immature, but comes from a position of greater strength than the others. He is the alpha male and everyone is too weak to think for themselves, preferring to curry favor with him instead.

Elia and Sam are the only ones who might have an inch of self-awareness and learn from this assault. Maybe in a few years. Cliff and Ilan will never learn, and neither will their ugly predeccesors, Frank, Betty and Michael.

Edited to add:
As to the Stills linked above, unbelievable. The attack on Marcel started the night's festivities off! They were going to shave his head before their own. Unbelievable. Why isn't this addressed in any of the blogs?!

Not only is it Elia with all her hair, it's seems like it's Elia laughing hysterically over the whole thing. If she is laughing all I can say is that she's a total BITCH!

ok...but we know the editing magic that can go on. We have NO idea if marcles storming off was in anyway related to the incident. I'd like to hear a few more facts about the incident....what happened when. etc. I don't think we can tell from the bravo editing exactly what happened and when it happened.

Sorry, Kiasmama, not this time.

I just went through it frame by frame on Tivo - it is in the moments after Marcel is freed and storms out, slamming the doors behind him. The audio? "go apologize to him now" and Marcel is pissed off/storming off, as he passes Elia (with her full head of hair) doubled over on the floor, apparently laughing her ass off.

ETA: Completely forgot to add what proves it, when Cliff releases Marcel his pants are downish...exposing the tops of his boxers. He hitches them up as he passes Elia.

To add to what I mentioned earlier, I plan to file an FCC complaint. I was so upset that I didn't sleep a wink last night after watching this assault. My thinking is that this was much worse than that fat Jackson girls tit being flashed at the Super Bowl. Also, I keep thinking about how people do get kicked around like this everyday and I wish I could do something about it. Too often the victim suffers more abuse by those in a position of authority. In a sense, Bravo beat Marcel up again by its broadcast and polling.

When did Marcel start doing his hair in a fauxhawk homage to the Little Rascals? That swirl at the top is truly disturbing.

LOL, I had a good friend who used to have that haircut.. the swirl is a side effect of not having it trimmed in a while. When the spikes can't stay up on their own cause they're too heavy, they come together and swirly-swirl on top of the head.

This is just too depressing
Isn't it? It's been a depressing season of tv (and reality tv in particular) so far. What is with all the bullying (Survivor with Jonthan, TC with Marcel, Grey's Anatomy with that idiot Isaiah Washington)?

Who knew it could get worse, but those stills prove that it can. Disgusting people.

Is voting for the fan favorite over?

Where in the hell did they get these cheftestants?

Betty, Show Me the Rules : "Splenda. I never used Splenda." "Anything that fucks you over is fine by me, Marcel." Wow, I'm surprised that she doesn't admit to using Splenda. She's such a fake sweet, she may as well own up to using fake sugar. Oh, but wait, then she would have to admit that she knew the rules.
Frankie da Bull : "I will beat you so bad that even your own mother own't recognize you." Does Frank's mother even want to recognize him after watching her son on tv? She must be so damned proud.
Ilan the Smirk : "Ooooh, I said something mean to Marcel, and he won't get upset. Hey, guys, let's make a shiv out of Frankie's old toothbrush and play a joke on Marcel by stabbing him with it. And while we're at it, why don't we take Frankie's busted sunglasses and poke out his eyes with them?" Gotta be another set of proud parents with this asshole.
Sam the Scam, INTKOF (I'm not that kind of guy) : Sam, you're not even a human being. Nothing sexy to find here with this jerk.

Words fail me when it comes to Elia.

Someone else posted many, many pages ago to fire Ilan, Sam and Elia and to bring back Tiffani, Dave and Steven for the Hawaii finale with Marcel. Damned sure wish that would have happened. But since it didn't, no need for me to waste any more time on this pathetic piece of crap show.

Off to find some other piece of mindless trash to watch on Wednesday nights.

I'm also not liking Tom because he made the comment to Marcel about his potato hearts on the salmon being "so 1978".
I found the comments the judges made about those little hearts on the salmon off-putting, especially when paired with the joyful reactions of the other diners.
If my girlfriend had to go thru chemo with her thyroid cancer, I was prepped and ready to go to shave my head for her. And I've got shoulder length. She ended up with radiation, but if she relapses and has to do the chemo, my blades are sharpened.
Why?
I thought they both looked quite nice bald. And why is shaving your own hair off by choice 'childish'?
The same way getting a tatoo while drunk, I reckon.
What I'm fixated on is the claim that Santa Barbara is "known for culinary sophistication." I can't even tell you how hilarious that is.
Are you referring to that awkward Sandra Lee style voice over? What was THAT all about? Was that some sort of plug from the Santa Barbara Tourism Board?

I may be wrong but I think I remember wicked-witch Gail being every touched by the column of hearts on the salmon. And I'm sure Padma would agree. Frenchie, too, he probably had hearts on his underwear. Colicchio, don't hate on Marcel's hearts just 'cause you get no love.
