» How to report links in Troll Patrol and Forum Traffic Court
Glark

Jan 16, 2007 @ 6:30 pm
The Troll Patrol is place to let us know about shit-disturbers so we can break out the size nines.

A troll may:
  • post offensive messages only to get you angry
  • post the same thing over and over again to take up space and ruin the flow of the forums
  • post only to intrude on your goodwill and advertise some crap-ass site or try to sell you bootleg copies of something
  • start hurling insults left and right in hopes of starting a flame war
A troll is not:
  • someone who -- in the course of a real debate or discussion -- pisses you off with a opinion that is different from yours
The Forum Traffic Court is the place to report non-troll forum problems that occur on the boards.

Examples of FTC violations include:
  • Threads or posts started in the wrong areas
  • Unnecessary duplicate thread started (eg. two threads about same character or show)
  • Threads in all-caps, excessive and excited punctuation, etc
  • Episode threads in wrong format
  • Bad spoiler tagging
How to link to the post in question

We ask that you link to specific posts (unless the entire thread is in fact an issue). Here's how:
  1. Go to the post you are reporting.
  2. Click on 'Post #xxx'. A window will pop-up with the complete straight-to-the-post URL in it.
  3. Copy this URL
  4. Go to Troll Patrol or Forum Court hit 'add reply' and type in your report. (Please keep the report as basic as possible and don't editorialize.)
  5. Add the URL you copied by first clicking the 'Insert Link' button (green arrow and plus sign) then pasting the URL in the box. Click ok.
  6. Add link text in the second box. Like 'User X posted this spoiler without spoiler tags' and click ok.
  7. Now submit your post and it's done!
Thanks for your help!
