Yeah, exactly, this interview was during the writers' strike and they weren't sure they'd be able to film any more episodes. So it looks like we find out who is the final Cylon in our next episode....

There are two articles, "Exclusive Sneak Peeks," in the print edition of the July 14'th TV Guide - one on BSG and the other on Caprica. Barely more than a paragraph they are, however, provactive. Mark Stern, VP of Programming is quoted that the 5th Cylon will be "organic and satisfying. It won't be some day player from Season 1."

Per the Caprica article, after the daughters of Daniel Graystone and Joseph Adama are killed in a terroist attack, Graystone brings them back as "robots, creating the ancestors of the Cylons." (!) WTF? Had we heard that before? Every since the we-who-are-about-to-be airlocked Leobeon whispered that tidbit in Roslin's ear (Adama=Cylon) there has been speculation about Lee & Bill, could this be a confirmation of sorts?

I think that is supposed to be Adama's sister. But if the actual final cylon is supposed to be "organic" to the story line it seems unlikely that it could be her I think.

That could be, but I think it's also possible that AD was referring at the time to the Kara-finds-her-own-dead-body thing. He's been quoted more recently as saying the Final is someone no one has guessed, and really - if it was Kara, I don't know how that could be even remotely true. And I don't see them sticking the reveal in the same episode where Kara finds her own body.

Had the show not come back, Kara as the Final Cylon might have been the answer we were left with, but I don't think that's the, um, final revelation.

Coupling the "we're shooting the final episode right now." with EJO's (paraphrase) "we get crumbs. Crumbs, I tell you!" non-fuzzy-no-retirement-sexy-cabin comments, "wrap party pix!" with the timeline of the the Roslin pix is making me almost certain it is her death.

Maybe the final Cylon is Gaeta. As Sam said, "He sings!"

It may be Roslin's death but the nightgown and water motifs remind me a lot of her dream sequences in Flesh and Bone. Don't know what that means except for MM's statement that we should pay attention to the early episodes and how it all comes back to that.

Lizardbeth, interesting interpretation. But to me, AD said pretty much the same thing in that writer's strike interview -- that it was someone he never expected. It's in the first quote I put up a couple of pages back:

I was curious quite a bit but it was certainly a shock when I found out who it is. I never would have expected that person.

To me, Kara was always one of the very obvious (almost too obvious) possibilities for the final Cylon, so I wouldn't think AD would have been talking about being shocked by Kara as the final Cylon and the discovery of Kara's "duplicate" body. But, that said ... I certainly wouldn't put it past RDM to lead us to believe the final Cylon is one person, and then in the series finale, change everything. I think he's sneaky like that.

I just saw James Callis and Tricia Helfer filming something, but I don't know what. I'm very confused as I thought they were wrapped for Season 5 (or 4.5 or whatever it is), but it was definitely them. And it looked to be a head scene as Tricia was in the red dress and James was in the suit. Any ideas?

Fiona77, may I ask you where they were filming? Was it a scene with dialogue or not? The sitrep blog reported today as most probably the last day of principal photography so you may well have caught them in one of their final filming moments!

Cool. They were filming in downtown Vancouver near Canada Place. It was a scene with a lot of extras and some dialogue as they were walking along. I was just running an errand during work so I couldn't really stay and watch. My main observation is that Tricia's hair looks way bigger in person.

Cool that you saw them even if you couldn't stay. If Tricia was being Caprica Six, then that would be a blond wig that she's wearing.

Has that location appeared on BSG before as pre-attack Caprica? Were the extras dressed in business/modern clothing like in the miniseries back on Caprica? If so, I suspect Baltar has flashes back to Caprica in the finale, along with Roslin. Very interesting. I've always thought Baltar had a special role to play in all this by virtue of having had a headSix and by being in the opera house vision. Could he really be the dying leader? Maybe the show does need to go back to the beginning to make a critical point that will show Baltar and Roslin the way forward.

The location has never been used before and I'm fairly certain that it isn't on Caprica unless it's a very different Caprica than we have already seen.

I'm 95% sure of where the scene is set, but I'm not 100% sure and until I was I wouldn't feel comfortable saying anything because it would set off a bunch of speculation. And somehow I would also feel very guilty. I don't like guilt. But there were a bunch of other people observing and even some paparazzi so I'm sure it'll come out soon.

Speculation is fun but guilt is not fun, so I understand if you don't want to disclose anything that makes you uncomfortable. But you have me intrigued and clueless! Paparazzi too? Didn't expect that. Hope they didn't disrupt the filming.
