I'm looking forward to the Adama and Tigh facing off at some point -- Zeus vs. Odin, anyone? I'll take all wagers. Seriously, though -- SMF Tigh has really had to step up to the plate and lead (wonder if it was before or after he lost the eye?) and he obviously has a different set of operating principles than his beloved Old Man.

Ok, Zeus vs. Odin vs. Athena. Should be fun.

Can't wait!!!

About Kara and leoben interactions, i just see kara re-booting her pda, you can't kill something that is immortal.

True Werewolf123 Furthermore, Kara has not been shown to be particularly conflicted about killing Humlons. In her initial reaction to Leoben, it did bother her. However, after that with Boomer's betrayal of the fleet and Adama's shooting, she seemed to view the Humlons as enemies. She had a very uneasy relationship with Sharon and didn't seem to care if Sharon was killed.

My point being that if she has killed dozens (or more) copies of Leoben, wouldn't it become an exercise akin to smashing a particularly difficult cockroach in her mind? One that was capable of fighting back but needed to be exterminated nonetheless to help preserve her sanity rather than detracting from it? After all, it's Kara. "Fight 'em until we can't." - when she loses that mentality, she loses a huge part of who she is.

That she is unfazed to the point of sitting down to eat still bloodied says to me only that she has a routine, a challenge of sorts. Always waiting for an opportunity to kill off a Humlon, like a training exercise that will not stop.

Once she accomplishes her mission, she is off duty until the next round. That round keeps coming, and coming. That's what I find chilling but I don't see it as a dehumanizing experience. It's the only vestige of who she was before that she has with her now.

I would say that she did care, in some small capacity, actually. When Sharon first came aboard the Astral Queen, Starbuck stepped in during that initial freak-out by Apollo. Later, when Apollo was threatening to shoot her, she stopped him. "There's been enough of that today." Whether that was genuine concern for Sharon as a former friend, or sympathy because of Starbuck's friendship with Helo, I'm not sure.

I think Kara was probably wary of Sharon, but she did eventually admit to Sharon in "Scar" that when she looked at her, sometimes all she saw was the young kid who botched her landings, and almost forgot about the Cylon.

In fact, I would wager that, at least on a subconcious level, a human's view of a particular humlon model is probably skewed by their experience with that model. For instance, those who were friends with Boomer or Sharon probably look at eights with less hate than the other models. And Starbuck, by far, has had more experiences with different humlon models than any other human. She was friends with an eight, fought a six to the death, tortured/prayed for a Leoben, and was psycho-analyzed/cared for by a Simon. If there's any human who wouldn't lump all humlons together in one category, its probably Starbuck.

That was a tight twelve minutes. Kudos to Ron Moore and the editing team.

The Kara/Leoben storyline is going to spawn several weird fanfics, I can already tell. But that is going to be a sick, fascinating little story that will unfold. The issue is how much autonomy does Leoben(s) have to relive his fantasy; and how much of this is part of a bigger plan.

Ah Ellen. That was sweet and horrible, all at once.

I can't wait to watch the rest of this whilst wearing my TWoP Toaster T-shirt! So glad I did my laundry just now.

Yeah, and I think the finale had some even stronger indications that Kara liked Sharon a little bit more than you like an electric toothbrush. She seemed genuinely protective of her in the Pegasus meeting, and fought alongside her - even handed her a gun! - without a typical caustic remark about her Cylon-ness.

Not sure where I was going with that, I just agree she's had a wider range of experiences with humlons than most other characters have. Of course being stuck as Leoben's personal Barbie doll for a couple of months would probably shift anybody's feelings back to the "die, robots, die" camp for a while.

Oh, and the Ellen/Cavil scene is officially among the most grotesque sex scenes I've ever watched. And I've watched a lot of Nip/Tuck. It's not even because of the participants (even though... ew, Stockwell), it's just the pain and anger in it. Her yelling "You son of a bitch!" breaks my heart.

Oh my god, two hours left! Whee!

I'm really interested to see what SMF Tigh's response is when (if) he finds out who Ellen fucked to get him out of jail.

Re: Kara and Sharon, I agree with jcin617 and NicoleAnell.

Unless Sharon betrays Galactica and humanity again, I think she is the exception to Kara's "fight' em till we cant" / kill' em all rule.
Usually when I've waited so long for anything the anticipation sort of drowns out the impact but not so with this. I will be over here wringing my hands until Friday.

(Dualla) Fancy meeting you here (/Dualla) stillshimpy. :D

Btw

When you wait less you get Lost so I'm all for waiting if it means actual entertainment, if you know what I mean (and I think you do *wink*)

I thought the spoilers about BSG being even darker had to be exaggerations. Based on the first act, RDM may have been understating how fucked up things will get.
You too, uh? I was telling myself, "Now they're gonna go too the dark place? Gotta be a marketing ploy.

Silly Fracking me.

I think I stopped breathing at several points during the premiere.

Damn. That was an amazing season opener.

Kara's screwed. That kid is the opening to her submission. Now they have something that she'll sacrifice for (she loves Anders but they understand the risks of rebellion.) A child is an innocent, whether or not it's half toaster.

Lee's gone soft, literally and figuratively. And Dualla's feelings for him are because of her daddy issues with the Admiral.

I just kept thinking about apartheid-era South Africa this ep (although that may have more to do with the Catch A Fire trailers everywhere.)

Tyrol is really dense to not realize Gaeta is the inside man. And Ellen Tigh is still an idiot. I'm sure there's more, but I'm just blown away right now (and not just by Duck).

My outburst was more along the lines of "No frackin' way!" and aborted attempts to throw my remote at the TV (but if I did that I couldn't watch the encore!).

Oh Kara. Lee is the Pillsbury Doughboy, but a lot less likable at the moment.

I'm glad the show got so dark. It's just very ... effective. At doing what, I can't quite articulate just yet.

Well, it's easy for a guy to let themselves go after marriage. "I already got the girl, what do I need to workout for?"

As far as the child goes, I would point out there is no reason the humanlons have to be adults.

But Loeben is a frakking twisted bastard and he's sucking Starbuck into it with him.

Also, I would not want to be a Cylon if Admiral Adama finds out Roslin is dead. He will scythe their fleet out of orbit with his scowl alone if he has to float around in an evac suit to do it.

Damn I'd forgotten how frakking awesome this show is.

Holy crap. Holy crap. Holy crap. Holy crap. Holy crap.

Jesus frakkin' Christ.

Holy crap.

Starbuck's prison? That's my definition of hell. I don't believe, no way, no how, that the little girl is hers. If Casey/Kaycee was a cylon hybrid, I don't think the cylons would be leaving it alone with Starbuck. She'd be too valuable.

The informant? I figured it was Gaeta but I was hoping it was Baltar. I guess Baltar's in his own special hell too.

It's got to be really weird to be a cylon. It's almost like being Wil E. Coyote. No matter what's done to you, you keep coming back.

The whole thing about the ethics of suicide bombing was fascinating. Because during the lead up to it, I was like, "That's wrong, that's wrong, don't do it guys, it's wrong. I would never support it." Then when I saw how upset the cylons were by it, I was like, "Look at how freaked out they are. Maybe in some situations I'd support it." Man, this show totally messes with my head. And I love it. Ow my head.

I think FatLee is a testement of how lost he is without Starbuck to push him. Like Adama said- he has become weak, mentally and physically. We still do not know what happend between the two of them over the year. As the crew comes back I think Lee with lose the fat and will become stronger again.
