» Spoiler Discussion: Fortress of Secretude

I'm on record as believing it will be Eden & Ted who are the two to exit, and I totally believe Hiro, Peter and Claire are the absolutely safest characters in the show (in that order) simply because the are the three most likable and the ones the writers have spent the greatest time investing the audience in (yes Niki & Borehinder get a lot of screen time, but a good chunk of the audience would actively participate in helping to kill them off!). I truly believe the 1st season arc is structured primarily around watching those three develop into superheroes.

Having said that, and following up on some of the speculation regarding the Haitian's abilities (i.e. the null factor) and his preview with Claire, what if the "secret" he wants to share with her is that she doesn't heal around him. He then of course cuts off the top of her head and takes her brain revealing he is the "spoilered" traitor who is working with Sylar! Or maybe he just "kills" her, leaving her to reanimate later thus giving us a cheat on the whole dead hero spoiler.

Just throwing it out there...

CanCon, I like that scenario! Well, not *like* it since I can't stand the thought of Claire's death.

I think it'd be cool if this happened:

Your scenario plays out and they cut the top off of Claire's head. They take her brain and leave her lying there. HRG comes in and finds her, realizing he's been betrayed. He kneels there, holding her to him (which is gross, given her missing half of a head, but he's a grieving man).

Meanwhile, Mr. Deep Clean takes the brain to Sylar. Sylar tells him to leave it. When he does, the brain starts to grow another Claire around it. When Sylar turns around, there's nothing there. Claire takes off, running into HRG who's holding her dead (other) body. They decide to leave the body there, to sort of "fake" her death, and he sends her to NYC to keep her safe.

Thanks to whomever put up the "Access Hollywood" clip--cuteness on all 3 fronts, especially Peter and Claire. He's so jazzed to get confirmation of another hero and all that. Those two have to have some kind of relationship, romantic or not. They're both kind of misfits, and I agree with a poster who said something like, "Everyone else has a someone, and Peter has no one, and Claire could be his 'someone.'"

In other words: Don't kill Claire! I love everyone's speculations on how she could be killed off at this point, but I hope it doesn't come to that. It would upset the fragile female balance on the show, and I'm really enjoying the character, so I don't want to see her go. I agree that she is one of the more popular characters, and I'm sure they have more stories mapped out for her, even if they're not leaked out yet.

I'm interested to see how Mister Ee-Sack gets to Midland. I love how excited Hiro is to finally meet him. I'm still curious about how the comic (9th Wonders)comes to be though. Are we to believe that Isaac starts writing it AFTER meeting Hiro, and that's how Hiro picked it up the first time he teleported? That doesn't make sense, though, because Micah has it. I guess the writers don't feel the need to remind us of the comic book? But how would Isaac even get the idea for Hiro's story?

On the Sylar front, I have to say, now that we've seen his face, and he's actually kind of attractive, he loses a lot of his scare-factor. Before we saw his face, I had pictured him to be slightly scarred, maybe with a craggier face, and definitely older. I didn't expect dark, broody looks.

ReadySteadyGo, Isaac's response to seeing Hiro's copy of the future comic book was, "This hasn't even gone to the printer yet." I took that to mean that either Isaac had just finished the comic, or was close to finishing it, but that at least he had already done the majority of it.

I think HRG and Eden were detoxing him/ retoxing him in Texas, Odessa I guess. So he'd just hop a bus to get to Midland. My question is how he and Hiro get in contact.

I'm a dolt--I completely forgot that Isaac was in Tejas already. Just the same, I'm interested to see how the contact comes about. And I'm still pissed that no one's made a bigger deal of the fact that Isaac has created a comic book where every single thing is coming true, as promised, whereas the paintings aren't strictly adhering to their matter. If I was Isaac, I'd find it pretty weird that I came up with the idea of a time traveling Japanese dude who actually exists! Does he do the comic when he's high, too? I didn't think so--too much work. Speaking of, I liked how he had to bust out the synonyms for Hiro and Ando with regard to drug use.

Do we know for sure that Parkman interrogates Peter in this episode, or is that to come later? If it's this episode, I'm wondering how he and Audrey get to Odessa, since there was no murder this time, only a strange incident. Unless the police are perceptive enough to report it to the FBI?

So I just got a bit of juicy spoilery goodness. I can't reveal my sources (sorry!) but anyway, here's the info I got:
Eden dies. She gets killed by Sylar because she thinks she can go in and talk to him without getting hurt.
Eden's death happens towards the end of the episode so it's left in the open whether Sylar took her powers or not.
The Haitian finally speaks.
The Haitian wipes Zach's memory, so Claire goes up to talk to him and he has no idea who she is.
The scene with all of the heroes in New York is part of a vision Peter has.
Plus the scene between Peter & Matt, where they're reading each other's minds, will happen in this episode.

Hey! Why's he have to go and do a thing like that? I love Zach and Claire's friendship. I guess the Haitian really is the betrayer (which seemed awfully darn likely from the "can you keep a secret scene). Booo, Haitian!

Why would the Haitian wipe Zach's memories? Did he do it himself or did Bennet order him to do so? BOO!

Did your source reveal anything about the other deaths?

If the Haitian mindwipes Zach, that HAS to be at Mr. Bennett's order. He is probably going to try and cover everything up so he can continue to try and protect Claire, and that means making sure there aren't a lot of people floating around who can squawk. Though why erase all memory of Claire? Isn't that a little extreme?

Back to Isaac & Hiro: Maybe the comic shows Hiro that Isaac gets off a bus, so he goes to meet him and Isaac is unaware that Hiro's there until greets him with "Mr. Eyesack Mendez?".

I don't like any of those spoilers except Peter's vision. The Hatian better be able to fix what he undoes.

It's possible that Claire asks the Haitian to mind wipe Zach to protect him. Of course if this happens I hope Zach says " Oh no, not again."

lulee, I suspect he mindwipes his wife on a regular basis (due to her really odd behavior), so why not the son too?

That...sucks. He's been her only confidante all along, and now she's going to be a stranger to him. Grrrr...you're a mindwipe-happy loose cannon, HRG!

Although I had been afraid HRG would order the Haitian to wipe Claire's mind of all the events of Homecoming night, so I guess I'd rather have this than that.
